This place has two floors. The first floor serves korean dishes while 2nd floor is dedicated to shabu shabu. We chose to dine on first floor. Our orders were - spicy pork and dried fish ssam bap and both were much better quality and taste than we expected. If you are gen x Korean who grew up with Korean country side food give this place a try. Absolutely love the mild seasoning. Brought back so many fond memories. Definitely coming back to try other menu items.
First time here with family, the restaurant is so huge & have a very good ambience. We've greeted by the employee, her name is Sue! She's very great and very professional on how to handle customers. The food, itself, is great! I love the pancakes, bulgogi & side dishes. Everything is remarkable!! They have a hotpot on the 2nd floor, but we didn't go, because it's still summer time in here, we might try it at other times then. Love love the service!! Great experience! Thank you Sue!
WOW! I saw the $9.95 Lunch Social sign outside and was lured in. Sue greeted and sat me immediately, explaining the lunch special. Food came out fast. I got the doenjiang (soybean stew) on the menu, it came with all the pictured banchan which were fresh and flavorful. Good service and good food can be hard to come by these days and both are front and center at Shabro. I will absolutely be back with friends!
My first experience with Hot Pot. Since I arrived with someone familiar with this establishment we went to the second floor. I loved the bold decor! It was a fun and great experience for me to choose the vegetables that I desired in my hot pot. Customer service was great! We were greeted and asked where we would like to right away The waitress also asked if this was our first time here. My guest did not speak loud enough so she explained the meat choices and how the food was to go in the pot. My guest piped up and insisted that she be the one to show me how to regulate the temperature for the Hot Pot. The floor, tables, plates, silverware and buffet area were clean and well maintained. I liked the fresh selection of all the items. The food cooked fast and I enjoyed the flavor. It is all you can eat (cost $26 per person). We had meat treats left over. An additional $5.95 is charged if you want to take left over trays. I would return!
This place was amazing!!!! Its all you can eat, very flavorful. You make your own hotpot soup with sauces and other ingredients. The fish cakes are wonderful, house soup is great for adding flavors in and making it your own. Pork belly was fantastic. Their sweet chili sauce was out of this world. 😋 Highly recommend. They don't have storage for leftovers, but also only charge per Head. We ordered 2 rounds of meat
Love coming to Shabro! All the food is always fresh and very delicious. I always get chicken as my meat, but my husband loves the steak. Also the noodles are always fresh as well. They have 2 different broth chicken or original. The downfall, the waitress sometimes takes a little long, but it’s always prompting. Also, since you have to go up the stairs and I believe they don’t have an elevator, might be hard if you ever visit and need assistance to go up the stairs. Other than that! Love the broth!
What a fun experience! It's so nice each person can choose their own broth flavor. The meat selection and quality was really good. The veggie, seafood, dumpling bar was huge! Such a great selection. Also lots of sauces to enhance your meal. We didn't get a chance to try the scoop yourself icecream, but we definitely will next time. Overall, great experience, and wonderful staff.
We went around 4pm and it was a very nice atmosphere. The meat the brought out had a great color and tasted better. I liked that They cared about hygiene and etc. Will have to wear mask and gloves when picking food. The house spicy special sauce was great! The ice cream was nice a rich with not watered down taste. I really liked the Chinese base. And nice cold rice wine to go with the hotpot on that cold day. Worth the price but be sure not to waste food because you will be charged!but all in all Perfect!
✨Average Food & Service✨ ✨Experience/Service - This was our first time trying this hot pot restaurant and when we walked in we weren’t sure here to go because there was no one to greet us. We saw a sign that said come to the second floor for hot pot, so we did. When we got up there, there was a worker with a pigeon in his hands walking in the restaurant (very strange - and unsanitary!). A waitress came over and took our order and let us know we could order 3 meats at a time. She was friendly and very attentive. When we got back to our tables, they had added our broth to soup bowls, but didn’t give any instructions on how to turn it down if we needed too. We both burned our mouths because the broth was too hot! We had waiters and waitresses check on us frequently, so I did appreciate that! ✨Buffett - They have a really large selection of vegetables and seafood at the buffett! My husband got a clam and said it tasted pretty fishy, but I got several shrimp and they tasted fine! They also have a great selection of sauces. They also have self-serve ice cream. ✨Food - they have a pretty good selection of meats and they seemed like they were good quality. I got the “original house soup” and my husband got the “Chinese Hot Pot HuoGuo” (mala spice). He said his was pretty watered down but had good flavor! Mine didn’t have a lot of flavor so I ended up adding chili oil. ✨Cost - We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. They charge dinner price $28.99 on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays no matter the time. 15% gratuity is included in every check, no matter the party size. ✨Overall, we had a pretty average Hot Pot experience, and because it was so pricy, we probably won’t be back.
The place was very cold (downstairs). We had to keep our thick winter jackets on. We ate food to order, not Shabuball you can eat. The food was rather expensive and didn't taste very unique. Would not recommend.
Service is great from everyone. The music selection is... ... really odd. They played a lot of Jelly Roll and some Christmas music, but also uncensored, foul, gangsta rap. Not family friendly at all! Most of the food was good. I recommend the house soup made for HotPot, as both the chicken and cream eye delicious on it. However some of the vegetables had mold growing on them, so it was obviously not fresh. We told the staff and they apologized, but no discount was given for moldy food. Dumpings and corn were really good. $150 for 4 people, including tip.
We went to try hotpot at noon on a Monday. This restaurant divided into two areas, ground floor to serve traditional Korean dishes where the second is dedicated for hotpot. We took the stairs to reach the hotpot area. The second floor was not brightly lit but enough to see everything. All you can eat items were on the side along with sauces and ice cream. Lunch offers four different kinds of meat, two kinds of beef, pork and chicken . They were sliced very thin. All you can eat shrimp and crab were not as fresh as I hoped for. The vegetables were very fresh and the sauces were very tasty.
This was the OG for Korean individual hotpot 5 years back. Place has seen better days. The broth was lacking in depth, very one dimensional. The meat had a texture that I was not used to when cooked in the broth. The sauce selection was also very limited, I found it hard to make a sauce that was complex enough to coat the meat properly. Crab was frozen and mostly meatless. Not as many varieties as other places
Went in for dinner at 8:45 pm with a party of 8 people. The hot pot is supposed to be all you can eat for 2 hours. We were seated immediately which I appreciated but then we were also expected to order our broths and meat almost immediately. We asked for more time to look over the menu as some of us had never been there before. I would have appreciated if our server offered to explain how their menu works. Instead she told us we needed to order now since she was already there. Our party ordered 3 sodas and they only brought 1 of them out the first time, we reminded the server of the other two missing sodas and the second time they again forgot the last soda. Each time we reminded them felt like it was an inconvenience for them based on their mannerisms. At 10:00 a server came to our table and said “We’re closed now.” and walked out. I understand the establishment closed at 10:00, but why would you still seat a large party at 8:45 and not notify them they would not be getting their full 2 hours of hot pot? I would have appreciated them telling this to us ahead of time or at least a 30 minute warning before closing. We got up to leave after that, and a couple of people attempted to go to the restroom on the way out. The restroom door was open but the lights were off. There were a few employees standing near the restroom who saw us try and use it, but no one offered to turn the lights on or even inform us that the restrooms were closed too. Honestly we felt so unwelcome by that point that we left without asking them if we could still use the restroom. Overall, the food was decent but the service was severely lacking. I believe you can find a different hot pot place with just as good food that actually makes you feel welcome.
If I could give this place 0 I would. The service was terrible. The atmosphere was the most depressing place I’ve ever seen. The toilets hardly work and the entire place smells awful. The waitress rushed us when ordering and at the very end “lost” my cash and tried to say I didn’t pay. That turned into a 30 minute argument about how that’s her problem and not mine. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
I wish i could give a 0 star, poor food, poor customer service. Walk in 8:30 on a Sunday night, literally only 2 table is eating. The atmosphere is so depressing in this place with the dark old decor. Then and the old lady who serve us don’t even border to ask what else we wanna eat, we can limit order 3 a time and she never came back to help. She is busy check out something on her computer, i have to go call her cause she was never coming back. All of the all you can eat food at the bar is just frozen with ice on it 🤮 the sauce and the broth was bland without any flavor. My fiance ask for a change of broth cause his taste just like water. Price is just as regular as all the other place 30$ per person.
