In a beautiful piazza, the new management offers a rich aperitif with local wines. The kitchen, however, offers a few simple traditional dishes, with some virtuosity from the chef. The portions are pleasantly generous. Simple, affordable, and enjoyable. Worth the detour.

A charming place inside a highly revered castle at the top of Castell'Alfero, a very quiet village. A must-see. The food is divine. The dishes are carefully explained by the owner, who is very attentive in the service and super kind. A truly excellent dinner.

No price card, 6 euro for glas red wine in the middle of nowhere feels little bit like the owner is taking advantage of the tourists. The wine was good though.

Service is inconsistent and so is quality. I took a party of 7 people, dishes arrived randomly, waiting staff didn't seem to understand the side dishes need to accompany meat dishes, the raw meat (carne cruda) was grey. When I complained with the owner, he became all aggressive and rude and accused us of being troublemakers as nobody else had complained. We paid (including the dishes that hadn't being served after a long wait) and left with a rather bad taste in our mouth. Try the restaurant Da Marisa on the opposite side of the building, great views, great food (all the times) and lovely staff.
