This place is always top notch in food and service, I got there after at 830pm and service was great and so was the food , mind you they closed at 9pm
Amazing customer service! Great food...if you feel adventurous to try something different and delicious....Joe's Sushi is the place!
The Best Sushi you can get in Coachella. The owner and staff are outstanding, I highly recommend this location.
Delicious food, great prices, friendly accommodating staff, and did I say Delicious food!!!! My wife and I had a great experience here.
Always a good time. My wife and I love it here. The staff is so nice and the sushi is good. Thanks Joes
Always fresh and great service. We wont go anywhere else for sushi. Joes is by far the best in the Valley.
Went back 2 nights in a row. Did not disappoint. Great sushi at a good price. Will be back.
Absolutely excellent sushi! My company and I had 4 plates total, including the Cat City, Deep Fried Mahi Mahi, Anitza and stuff jalapeños. Our chef, David, was exceptional and definitely made this a visit to remember. This place is a must-go if you’re in the area or passing through.
Arturo and ei are the best male servers. I recommend getting them. They also work at the Coachella Joe sushi as well. Hardworkers.
I always feel so welcomed here. I try to have lunch here at least once a week and I'm always excited to stop by. Not only is the service great the sushi rolls are to die for!! See you guys soon!
Thee best philly rolls, I always get the crazy phily and regular philly. The chefs are supercool, personable, and of course amazing sushi chefs! You get the homey feel and is right off the 10 close to everything. Best sushi in town, only 1 place that competes with it in the desert and that's the 1 at the river. Other than them, Joes is the best inthe desert!
Joes Sushi was my first experience with eating Sushi as I have always been lure of eating that type of food. I had always heard it was raw sea food arranged in rolls wrapped in seaweed. I am prone to getting infections very easily so felt I should not take a chance eating it and causing an infection that would not want to leave my body. However getting into a discussion with a couple of friends suchi is much more then raw seafood and explained meay things that I could enjoy and not have to worry about it as there are many options to choose from and still have a nice selection to choose from when going out to it. I had crab, shrimp, cream cheese, wrapped with white rice mango acroos the top on the side was pickled ginger was a nice bonus to have with the roll slices. wasabi was also on the side of the plate which is something to stay away unless you are a person who has trouble getting things hot enough for your enjoyment it is exceedingly spicey hot so handle with care if you choose to use it. A very small amount on a finger tip amount would probably be a good starting point.
Joe's is in a strip mall, not much atmosphere but the sushi was very fresh and the prices were good
Positive vibes, great food. Totally made the mask thing comfortable and not awkward at all. I love this place and happy I can still enjoy the service here.
I love their sushi definitely in my top three. My favorite thing there is their green tea mochi ice cream. You should definitely get it when you visit!
First time at this location I recommend the sushi the tempura and the udon noodles excellent
Staff is very professional and friendly, the food is delicious... during this visit I ordered the Baked Lobster, the Stuffed Jalapeños and Dangerous Girl. I would definitely recommend this place to others!!
My favorite sushi place. No other place satisfies my sushi crave like them. I'm ruined! My favorite is the Alexia roll.
The sushi is amazing and fresh. Whenever I'm passing this way I'll stop by. It's always busy, and there aren't many tables, so give yourself extra time in case you have to wait for a table. But I've only ever taken out. I think it's some of the best sushi in the area.
Awesome servers wonderful atmosphere Leo was the best really fast would recommend it too lots of praise
We had All you can eat Sushi at $29.95 per person. They have some restrictions on 1 per person on speciality rolls though justified. The service was fast and professional. It is in a shopping .all so plenty of parking. We will be back
SO good. Their salmon nigiri was so tender, it fell apart faster than the rice. The eel and albacore were phenomenal. We tried the Ecstasy, Alberto, and Anitza rolls. All were excellent!
Cabo sushi and Okura are my favorite sushi in the Valley😁.... so so delicious. And the customer service is really good 😍... cant complain. Clean and fast service. We always end up here any time we want to eat out.! SUSHI IS LIFE
This place is an overall winner. Excellent food, clean, well-prepared dishes, and we always have a great time here. It's something to say when you feel comfortable at a place that serves raw fish. (!) This is a first-class joint!
This little hole in the wall is very nice. Staff are very friendly. Food is good! They have many regulars which is nice to see the Staff welcome them by name as they come in to eat.
good food, comfy interior, and great service. I come here every other friday, love it.
I’ve eaten her many times and every time the workers are so nice and the food is better then any other sushi places i’ve been too Joes is definitely my favorite place to eat
We stopped in just by chance. Everything was fresh and refreshing. Good service and great sushi! We took ours to go but could have just as well eaten in. The atmosphere is cozy and familiar. We'll be back.
I usually sit at the bar. Sushi chefs are super cool.
Leo, Felipe, and Alonzo are amazing! The staff make you feel like family and take super great care of us! Everything is always fresh. The Leo#6 is off menu but highly recommended when Leo is there! Can't recommend this establishment enough! Thank you guys! Amazing job!
This little strip mall sushi diner has the best sushi in Coachella Valley
Amazing rolls! I love the fusion; the rolls are spicy. Try the Horacio and Dangerous Girl rolls if you like cilantro & lime and spicy serranos, respectively :) there isn't a lot of seating but all of the service was lovely!! Great folks and great rolls. Edit 2025 - Would still recommend. Joe's is still very consistent and their rolls still have great flavors, although their prices have increased since first coming here.
It's a very small cozy restaurant with perfect set of bar and tables. Sushi/Roll menus are delicious with beautiful presentation in plates. Cabo style menus are impressive. Prices are just so reasonable. Their customer service is not forgotten to mention especially Joe, owner of this gem place in town near Sun City Palm Desert. Thanks!!!
Food is always amazing, the people behind the counter making the dishes are Artists, and they're very conversational too. Their artwork on the walls are beautifully reflective of Japanese culture. The lighting is really nice, not too bright, and not too dim, and overall, it feels like a cozy getaway from the outside world. My favorite dishes are the Bermuda dunes roll and the Miso soup!
I recently discovered Joe’s Sushi while on the hunt to get something delicious during my lunch break. I order the “Joe’s Crazy” roll every time I stop by, it is my absolute favorite! The servers are always nice, it does get busy during the lunch rush so the wait gets a little long. Regardless I recommend this place to all sushi lovers.
Great place for sushi. I've been twice to this location. Always fresh and friendly. Lobster bake is my favorite but everything is top notch.
I love the size of the restaurant! Its small and intimate, so its extremely easy to get quick service both dine in and take out. If you are trying sushi for the first time this is the best place to go to sit at the bar and get recommendations from the sushi chefs.
Great Service from Gabriel, the Sashimi was amazing, I had the Yellow Tail collar, it was the best I’ve ever had. We go to Sushi every week, and this is the best place we’ve ever had, we’ve been to Nobu’s in Malibu and that doesn’t hold a candle to this place and service. Sweet and simple!! Can’t wait to go back!!
Food was incredible. I've eaten at a fair amount of sushi places and this one is good. I would come back in a heartbeat. Small cozy classic sushi bar interior.
Awesome!! Locale is small inside a strip mall and it does not look like much from the outside and it is small inside but the food and staff are top notch. The staff was attentive, on top of things and very friendly and helpful. The sushi is amazing and delicious. Tried three rolls and they were exquisite. Stop and give them a try
Stop in and try it. You won't be disappointed
Joe's Sushi is the answer to the question, "Where can we get good sushi?" Their sushi menu isn't overwhelming or underwhelming for that matter. They have the favorites, with a spin on some common names. Highlighting some Coachella Valley cities and landmarks, the options have something for everyone. The service great, the food superb. The ambience could use some dusting and targeted light to upgrade the dining room and sushi prep area. One final recommendation. We both are drinkers. We were never offered Saki, wine or a beer. They don't have taps, but this is a rule number one recommendation: Talk up the drinks, so if there's a wait, no one cares.
Great sushi with great chefs. My favorite rolls include the Rainbow Roll, Sunshine Roll, and Ecstasy Roll. It is a small spot so keep in mind you may have to wait for a table/stools to free up.
Love the service and the food it’s great it is so close to the Arena in Palm desert. Great to go before the show and eat and have a drink. Ask for Leo he will hook you up or just say “hi” he is awesome.
Not fancy inside. But the food was terrific. Our server was kind but seemed tired of the job. Still, we think we found our sushi place near Palm Desert. Will def go back.
The best sushi and sashimi I have ever had. The service was outstanding. A small and quaint atmosphere making it feel like you are part of a family.
Joe's sushi has 5 stars in how they make their delicious sushi rolls, the sushi rolls are an explosion of flavor. The service of the waiters is fast and excellent. sure i'll be back soon
My favorite sushi restaurant, food excellent, everyone so entertaining and helpful.
We wanted Sushi so bad and are so glad we went. Kids teriyaki bowls were very generous, the kids ate well. We really enjoyed the all food. Spicy baked lobster was a very good choice, not overly hot, very favor full. Caterpillar roll was also very tasty. The Ernie was a fun roll we will get again it includes fried shrimp and tuna. The Bermuda dunes a crispy fried California roll was great way to enjoy a simple roll. We look forward to trying more at Joe's it wasn't our first visit and it won't be our last.

This Joe's location is kind of a hole-in-the-wall, but our expectations were exceeded. Enjoyed the Poke Tower and it couple of sushi choices, with cold sake.
Joes sushi was the first place I tried sushi when I was a kid. I still am loyal to this day and I always tell my friends and family my favorite restaurant is still “joes sushi” I love their food so much and the staff is awesome. I remember before it became “the Cabo way” they had the best priced all you can eat option which I believe they should bring back!

Ordered the Baked Lobster roll to go and the size of it was smaller than other sushi places I’ve been to but the taste was great.
Food is always fresh and good. Its a tight squeeze in there but cozy. The chefs make it fun, they know their regulars 🙂❤️
Food came out fast for making 4 rolls. One was a lunch special. Food was good. Service was pleasant and genuine. I would recommend it to anyone in the area.
I had not been at Joe's in a very long time. Food still is as good as I remember, and very happy to see the chefs are the same since when I was a regular there! Great seeing you David and Leo!
Joe's Sushi offers at all you can eat sushi option for lunch and dinner. It's a fairly small location and we've had to wait to be seated before period on our last visit we came in and sat at the first table to the right the restaurant itself is not very handicap accessible as everything is crammed in so that they can get as many people in as they want. The food is really good and I enjoy it a lot. I've now gotten to the point where the all-you-can-eat sushi doesn't justify the price for me but I do see lots of people that will sit there for a while stuffing their faces with the sushi that's made fresh for
Great nice local sushi bar. Sushi is excellent the staff in great. Only on a couple occasion was the sushi cook rude. Do offer "all you can eat", but they use more rice then they would if making a non all you can eat roll. Which I mean is understandable due to business but still...
Hard to choose 4 vs 5 stars. The sushi is outstanding, like actually amazing considering the location - the mango roll is the bomb. But the cooked food is just okay, and the servers are totally meh. Not rude, just minimal. We don't care because the sushi is so good, but it's odd. Oh, and miso soup had no seaweed - that was different.
Very good Sushi, I will come again. I enjoyed the Alexia roll!
I came in and placed a to go order. It consisted of a combo special and a special cut roll. Upon arriving home I was pleasantly surprised with the included Miso soup and salad to go along with the other items. The food was of a good quality and was filling. I think the staff needs a little work on friendliness, but then again it has been a tough time in the food industry thanks to the communist regime in power.
I was in La Quinta for work today and I am not familiar with the area at all. On my way out of town I pulled into a shopping center looking for a place to get some lunch and I happened upon Joe's Sushi. The store front is very unassuming and the name "Joe's Sushi" and then in smaller print "Cabo Style" doesn't immediately conjure images of tasty Japanese cuisine, but that's exactly what I got. Let me be transparent and say that I had the salmon teriyaki bento box, which was very traditional in that it came with miso soup, salad, tempura, of course salmon, and I got the spicy tuna roll. So, I really can't comment much about sushi but I can say that the tuna in the roll tasted very fresh and the rest of the box set was very good as well. I'll even give props to the tempura, which I am typically not a huge fan of but in this case the batter had a slighty "thicker" consistency and a very good flavor. My final comment is that I walked in not really expecting much but I walked out feeling very satisfied with my meal.
The food is absolutely amazing no complaints at all. But their service as a server myself is terrible. My little family went there. We had a male server that never even introduced himself to us by name at all. He seemed uninterested . He seemed like he hated working there. If we knew his name we’d post it. Cuz that restaurant deserves better than to have a server that hates what they do. In spite of it all we tipped the server over 30% not because he deserved it but because the other staff deserved it.
Really friendly staff and some great rolls! If your used to sushi in the desert this place will not disappoint. Expect traditional sushi here. Rolls, traditional sushi, etc. A few unique things about inspired worth trying. If you're looking for sushi sushi... there really is not a place in the desert sadly. They don't even have fatty tuna here let alone a chef special fatty tuna. The chicken, steak, and sushi itself are all ordered by the same supplier as all of the other local sushi places so they all basically taste the same. Previously frozen fish. It's not bad, it just doesnt compare to other OC SD LA eats etc (which, you probably shouldn't expect that anyway I suppose) but one can wish right? Anyway, check this place out for not to disappoint run of the mill sushi. We come here every few months for our sushi fix when were not out of the desert
Service was friendly and ambient. Lots of options to choose from. Got the dinner special combination with chicken but the food was kind of bland. Portion was nice though.

This was a great disappointment. They use "fusion" as a way to disguise fish past prime. They have Spicy Chopped 5 Fish. A good way to use bits, scraps and fish on the decline. There was no signature taste. The sushi rice was excellent. Great balance of the tartness of vinegar with the sweetness of the mirrin. Miso soup was ordinary.
Great sushi. Service can do a lot better. Has All You Can Eat menu for reasonable price. The bad thing is they pack the rolls with rice when ordering AYCE
Great food, only reason why it’s 3 stars is because they often don’t pick up their phone when calling in orders. I love the Alberto Roll and the Stuffed Jalapeños.
I wanted to love it. We were a bit let down though. Orders all messed up and the teriyaki chicken deserved -stars. The sushi was pretty solid for the desert. Perhaps we were there on an off night. I'll try again another time and update.
I absolutely love eating here BUT DO NOT ORDER TAKE OUT. Unfortunately when you order take out, they portion you so little. I have eaten here often for the past couple of years but I have ordered now twice take out and BOTH times take out portions are reduced without a doubt by a third. DON’T STRAY AWAY FROM DINE IN YOU WILL REGET IT.

Sushi is decent. The prices are a bit too high. I usually get a simple Philadelphia roll as extra and it was the same price as the specialty rolls. The Udon soup was OK.

Sushi place that has a lot of potential. Sadly when ordering from the all you can eat menu sushi is packed excessively full of rice in an attempt to cheat the customers. On the other hand their non all you can eat sushi is decent.
If you like your Tempura with a gummy texture then this is your place. I prefer smaller portions that are balanced then overly large pieces that fill up a plate. Such is the case with their rolls. Though their Tamago was very good.
Paid 8$ for Instant Noodles and random vegetables pretending to be ramen. I realize its Joe's Sushi and not Joe's Ramen but if youre not even going to try, dont put it on the menu. The tempura shrimp was great and the only reason I dont leave one star.
Ok food. I had all you can eat and tried to pay before my freind came back from bathroom to avoid fighting for the bill. Was told I couldn't pay till I finished all my food( 6 peices ) or I had to pay for each peice. I told her I'd finish them. She dropped my credit card back on the table and said you can pay then. What a joke. I'm not 10
Over priced for the quality of the food and portions, this place is a huge hit or miss the worst is the service, you need to be seated at the bar if not good luck these waitresses should be working at McDonald's or wahlmart worst experience ever dealing with them so now if there's no room at the bar I try to wait for a opening cause a table seat seat is a death sentence!!
Food was good, chefs were nice. The servers weren’t. Specially a youngster man that works there, went there around 6:30 the man wanted us to sit at the bar because he had a big party table available only. And if he was to get a bigger party come in there was not going to the table available. ( the bigger party never came in ) Not nice to say that to us because we were only 2 of us. We were also consuming and paying for our food . Not going back there .
First of all I just want to commend the staff because they are nice and served us well. As for the food. It was just ok.It wasn't gross but the sushi's rice is noticeably thick! The fish serving is so thin. We had All you can eat and as you see at the menu the selection is limited for a 29.95 per person price. The Tuna sushi is kinda rubbery and extremely thin but the rice was so thick that we kinda doesn't want to eat it but the server told us that If leave even just a rice, they'll charge us for that. So yeah the 2 star rating is mainly for the food that is not worth what we paid for.

What a downward spin. I haven’t been here in years. This used to be my go to spot, but other places have popped up that I have made my go to instead. Decided to give this one a go again. Atmosphere seemed not as friendly, and the food was super bland. Waitress was really nice.

DO NOT COME HERE!!!! WORST establishment. The portions are EXTREMELY TINY! Wouldn’t even feed a child. I got the vegetable yakisoba for $11 and I’ve never paid that much for something and still been SO hungry afterwards. Complained to the workers and they had no sympathy and had major attitudes. The yakisoba wasn’t even good. It lacked flavor and the noodles weren’t cooked enough. If you come here, plan on paying for an overpriced meal and then going someplace else for another meal. Do NOT come here!
4/26/2021 It seems like when restaurants were closed and they were hurting for money, service was excellent. We ordered food this evening from this restaurant and it was horrible. What I ordered was not even remotely what was on my plate when my husband brought the food home. The employee who took the order was calling my husband "bro" (when my husband placed the order) which is not acceptable to us and when we called to complain about my food, he was rude and hung up the phone on me. We will never eat there again or recommend this restaurant to anyone
I am sad that I got home and my plate look this bad I would never have ordered this if I knew it was this poor quality I definitely will not eat this I want to post a picture so people could see what I am talking about the salmon box meal was terrible I love this place I order all the time but this was good to serve someone 🤮
The fish never tastes very fresh. There is a real lack of professionalism. I've frequented here at least 5 times, and it's always a let down. Wont be going back.
Below review was also posted in Riverside. NEVER NEVER NEVER order online. In fact dont eat here at all. I live next to Joes in Palm Desert. Ordered on the website. Their 3rd party app sent the order to Riverside and charged me. Called them up but they wouldnt cancel. They said it happens a lot and yet the theiving owners wont fix it. NEVER EAT AT ANY JOES SUSHI! They dont take responsibilty.
Worst experience I've had at any sushi bar. I went three times and each time they ignored me and acted like I didn't matter. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!. The last time I went I showed up 45 min Before they closed, to order a to go plate and they refused to serve me because they had already cleaned the bar. I will never Go back again nor will I recommend any friends or family to eat there. EAT ANYWHERE ELSE IF YOU CAN. SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE.
Since I entered the business one of the sushi chefs was rude throughout my stay. In my opinion sushi was exceptional; however I rather go elsewhere. First time bad experience defiantly not going back.
Terrible service. I called and was put on hold for over 7 minutes and I could hear the server joking in the background while I was waiting to place my order. I will never step foot in that place again and also the sushi isn’t good.
Joe's has always been my favorite sushi spot and I love the food but after my experience yesterday I may just have to order my food to go. The customer service was horrible the waiter Garbiel was just rude from the moment we walked in. He never greeted us or introduced himself he just pointed at the table and then walked off. I honestly only know his name because it was on my receipt. Anyways after we sat down he came over with menus and dropped them on the table, no acknowledgment of us and left. 5 mins later we had to wave him down to get drinks. He then took our orders in which my wife told him if she can have the sauce on the side on her Chino roll because she wasn't sure about the mango sauce,, he looked at her like her request was offensive or something. Then when our food came of course my wife's order was wrong and they put the sauce on top. She didn't like the sauce and when she asked if they can remake it he said no because they would have to charge us for both rolls. Before I could say anything my wife told him that doesn't make sense when they messed up, when she asked for a manager he said "let me go talk to she chef." He came over reached over my wife's plate she was eating on took the messed up roll and walked off.. no communication. Then he went and got a bucket to clear the table behind us and stated slamming the dishes in the container breathing heavy like we just ruined his day. Couple mins later he came sat the roll in front of my wife, no excuse, no apology, again no acknowledgment of our presence and walked off. At this point we are completely over it so we asked for a box to go, he heavy breaths again and went and got the box. We paid and left. Thank God I know Jesus because he was 🤏🏾 from seeing me going all the way off. Great food, horrible service. Might be time to try some new sushi resturants
Sushi is actually better then most have ordered from them at least 10 times for takeout , went in on 5/4 for dinner and wow ....horrible experience . Waitress had an attitude from the moment we walked in then after 15 mins of her ignoring us decided her shift was over and not to tell anyone . All in all wanted to like this place but they will no longer be receiving buisness from me.
We had the worst experience after coming here for over 15 years. After a couple of bites of my California roll I immediately felt ill and so did my husband. I definitely didn’t want to give my 2 year old her meal after feeling ill and my husband having like a #4. I came back to get a refund brought the food and was told to leave. The owner didn’t want to deal with this. No refund called the cops on me, my baby and my mother. They didn’t have a problem when I purchased but definitely did when I returned with the food in tact with exception of one plate missing 1/2 roll. I do not recommend this place. It does have different owner. Food was horribly bad.
Was driving from cathedral city going home to Indio after work and called to make an order for pick up and was put on hold right away. Then left on hold for 15 minutes had to call back after the call was automatically ended and then was told they were really busy. I’ve been going to joes sushi for years and never put on hold to make an order that I was picking up but it’ll probably be the last time I bother.
So this place came highly recommended. The sushi was OK but nothing special. Then when we went to pay, they came back saying the credit-card was declined. Ok that was weird so we gave them another and that too was declined. Also a third time with a different card.. Declined 3rd time! So now it has to be their terminal that is having problems. But would they admit it? No they acted like we were trying to get away with something. Will we be back? Hell no! After checking with the credit card company just to make sure, no issues on our end!
