Bar Tlecan: Pequeño, auténtico y con mezcal espectacular ⭐ Si buscas un lugar con buen mezcal y ambiente relajado, Bar Tlecan es una gran opción. Es cierto que el espacio es pequeño y puede sentirse un poco apretado, además no hay muchas opciones para sentarse, pero la música está en el punto justo: puedes platicar sin problema o ir entrando en ambiente. Un gran detalle es que te dan snacks súper variados, desde cacahuates y pepitas hasta grillos y lentejas, lo que hace la experiencia aún más auténtica. El mezcal es su especialidad y está delicioso, pero recomiendo decirle a la persona que te atienda qué sabores te gustan para que te sugieran el ideal para ti. Me la pasé muy bien, definitivamente fue una gran experiencia. Además, un plus es que los domingos, cuando todo cierra temprano, ellos siguen abiertos. Así que si buscas dónde salir en domingo, 100% recomendado.

Su mixología es buenísima, el servicio excelente, son muy amigables. Recomiendo ir entre semana por que se llena el lugar.

¡Excelente! Menú de cocteles corto pero más que suficiente. El lugar pequeño pero con atmósfera y ambiente enorme. Al estar incluido en los mejores bares del mundo, se llena y encuentras gente de todos lados. Los precios acordes a la zona y al tipo de lugar ($200-$250 p/coctel). La botana de cortesía riquísima. Se agradece los bares que siempre sirven agua.

Really cool cocktail bar with a vibe that feels like you’ve stepped into an Aztec-inspired cave with the pinkish brown stucco walls and the big carved wheel/coin really set the tone as you walk in. I tried a few different drinks including a chocolate-inspired cocktail and mezcal mojitos and they were creative and well made. The snacks were fun and unique too, I tried like the grasshoppers and pumpkin seeds (definitely memorable). The whole experience was great from the décor to the cocktails. This made it feel like more than just a drink stop. Would recommend checking it out if you’re curious about interesting cocktails and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere in the city.

Great place! Drinks and snacks were great! Not a mezcal fan, they have a nice pineapple drink (Pulque Colada) that is mild on the mezcal. The Tascalate Sour was also really good! All the snacks were tasty…the crickets were nice and crunchy. The staff were great. Had to stand half of the time but eventually got a seat at the bar.

Best Mezcal Negroni ever and definitely among the best Negronis I ever had and that’s in the hundreds. Also worth a visit if you want to taste some great mezcal, as they have a good selection. Very cool Bar, good vibe, friendly service. Will be back

Top 25 bar in in the world specializing in mezcal. Due to its popularity, it's extremely busy and loud. The drinks are really good. Really no place to sit. And frankly, unless you're there when no one is there, it's hard to enjoy the drink while standing in a crowded space. With that said, I would do it again. Most definitely!

Best spicy margarita I've ever tasted. Seriously unique. Allehandro on the door kept the queue feeling buzzy and explained the menu perfectly - he clearly really cared about the craft! Such a great atmosphere, the bar staff are *so* visibily talented. Even the bar snacks were great 🫰if you can, try the dark chocolate covered coffee beans and plantain chips combo. Chefs. Kiss. Go here.

This is an amazing bar! I only gave 3 stars for food because it only has snack mixes, not a full menu. But even the snacks are good. The ambiance, the staff, the drinks, it is all a cut above what I expected. The bartenders are great, personable, and their mixology is a performance art! This should definitely be on your list.

Tlecān is one of the most unique bar experiences in Mexico City. The moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels almost ritualistic — dim lighting, incense, and beautiful pre-Hispanic design elements that make the space feel intimate and special. The music is also pretty unique, they played a mix of old school Mexican tunes. The sound is great. The bartenders are skilled and focused on agave spirits. The cocktails feel creative without being gimmicky. Favorites were the Paloma Blanca and the Pulque Colada, both perfectly balanced but I wouldn't say they're out of this world. It does get crowded, and most people end up standing because the space is small, but the energy is great. If you love mezcal or want to explore Mexico’s traditional spirits in a sophisticated, cultural setting, this place is a must.

Superb, unique and local. The cocktails were wonderful, the mezcal selection top notch and our server had great recommendations. We had the Negroni, Colada and Carajillo. We’ll be coming back to try more! The ambiance was fun and cozy, a bit loud but it was Saturday night.

Excellent drinks and service. The cocktails were excellent. We enjoyed a pulque colada, tasqualte sour, and margarita. All were delicious. They will allow you to scan the QR code for the wifi and menu. There may be a wait but it wasnt too long for us on a weekday. The atmosphere is very nice and you will enjoy Tlecan.

This was likely the coolest aesthetic I’ve ever seen in a bar. Terra cotta everywhere, incense burning — they absolutely nailed the Aztec vibe. It feels immersive and totally different from any other spot in Mexico City. Yes, there’s a line, but they move it along efficiently. Once inside, be ready for standing room only since seating is very limited — but honestly, it adds to the energy of the place. The drinks were fantastic. I highly recommend the Negroni — their mezcal twist makes it incredibly unique and one of the best I’ve had anywhere. A must-visit bar if you’re into creative cocktails and unforgettable atmospheres.

Very nice and unique cocktail menu. Came here around 10:45 PM on a Friday by myself and had to wait about 30 minutes on line and only got standing room. It was fine though for the sake of trying it. I drank the pulque colada, super refreshing. Very delicious. Look like everyone around me enjoyed their drinks. The music in the background was great, there’s no dancing though. It is a small/medium sized space. The bartenders and waiters were super attentive and very kind. I would definitely recommend trying this place out.

I went to Tlecan with my husband and had an incredible time. It was more than just a nice cocktail bar, it was an experience. The service was impeccable and the cocktails delicious. We even got to try traditional fried grasshopper which was delicious. I would recommend Tlecan to anyone to likes a good cocktail and a good time!

Fabulous mezcal selection with creative cocktails and tasty snacks. The vibes are very cool and the staff is exceptional. The servers are friendly and welcoming and the bartenders are highly skilled and allowed to focus on what they are doing, it’s like watching a ballet. Shoutout to Alejandro for his excellent mezcal recommendations!

Number 20 in the World according to World’s Best Bars! Definitely love the vibe and atmosphere of this place. The red lighting showcasing the bartenders is a vibe. The bartenders here are fantastic and so talented. We got here early enough to get bar seats. They don’t take reservations so plan accordingly! The mezcal is highlighted at this bar and I enjoyed all of my drinks. The Negroni Cacao is a great spirit forward drink that makes a lovely night cap. Overall, this is my kind of bar and would love to go back!!

Es un bar lindo, tienes que ir temprano porque se llena. Tienen un carta interesante de tragos, todos con mezcal.

Very cool bar with a great vibe. The bartenders were fun, friendly, and clearly know what they’re doing, and the drinks were really nice. That said, it’s extremely cozy — think standing-room-only and very, very limited space. You may literally get assigned about a square foot to enjoy your drink. Would I go back? Yes — but only with a group of friends. Not ideal if you’re alone or looking for a relaxed couple’s night.

Increíble que este lugar esté en la lista de los mejores bares del mundo del año pasado pues para ser un bar especializado en mezcal el menú que ofrecen no es muy amplio ni tampoco el de sus preparaciones a base de este destilado que vistos en instagram atraen visualmente pero que estando ya en el lugar decepcionan no sólo por la pobre presentación sino también por la mínima cantidad de alcohol con que las sirven en comparación a los precios que cobran por consumirlas de pie en un ambiente ruidoso y lleno de olor a copal que en lo absoluto ayuda a disfrutar del lugar. En resumen, y en definitiva, este lugar no ofrece una experiencia de clase mundial.

Deja mucho que desear para tratarse de un bar considerado entre los mejores del mundo. El Carajillo es simplemente imbebible: mi lengua se adormecía. Los sabores no están balanceados; es solo una bomba picante sin armonía. Por otro lado, el servicio carece de explicación y guía, algo fundamental en un concepto de este nivel. Los meseros no explican las bebidas ni la experiencia. Pedí un Negroni cacao y nunca supe si el chocolate se comía o formaba parte del ritual. Lo mismo ocurrió con el mojito con la “hoja santa”: no queda claro si es comestible o solo decorativo. Hay mucho por mejorar, tanto en ejecución como en la narrativa de la experiencia.

Bastante pequeño sin muchos lugares para parar los drinks mientras se está parado. Tampoco llegó lo que habíamos pedido pero lo que llegó si estuvo rico.

Los drinks muy buenos y te brindan una buena experiencia, ya que los bartenders hacen todo al momento y buscan hacerlo entretenido. Sin embargo, me tuvieron esperando un muy buen rato (lo que se entiende ya que es un lugar muy popular) pero al momento en el que nos dejaron pasar nos pusieron a la mitad de todos donde te empujan los meseros y no hay espacio ni mesas. Muy incómodo.

Oof. I hate giving negative reviews, but our experience certainly didn't match the expectations. We did a bar run of Mexico City of the ones that made the top 50 in NA, so naturally Tlecan was on the list. Because they don't take resos, the having to wait rather than seating at a reservation already started the experience off poorly. We waited about 40 minutes to get in and although the greeters are chatty and fun, the atmosphere makes the experience feel like a conveyor belt. How many people can they churn through the bar just to make a profit. You have to uncomfortably stand around and if you do manage to sit you're still in the middle of the standing crowd. Personally I think of all the 10-15 bars we ventured through Mex City, it had the weirdest flavours of any of the drinks and made them taste more like experiments than experiences. I understand it's a popular spot, and perhaps to most it deserves the rating it has; but we wouldn't be revisiting this bar on the next pass through CDMX: Baltra, Handshake, Mauro, Licorera; with so many other good options to choose from.
