Fantastic service and food! Plenty of space for a family or split off to a date in the bar area. Beware the size of the, largest side of beans ever.
I love the tacos. Asada, fish, chicken and carnitas. Tortillas are made fresh. Can’t stop eating the chips and salsa. Good service too.
This Mexican restaurant in Bridgeport has is truly a terrific and convenient spot, and it delivers a great experience every time. We ordered the deep fried coconut shrimp and it was absolutely delicious, perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor without feeling heavy or greasy. The food is consistently well prepared and clearly made with care, which makes each visit reliable and satisfying. The service is friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. We also really loved the outdoor seating, which adds to the overall atmosphere and makes it an especially enjoyable place to relax and take your time with a meal. It is a great spot for good food, great service, and a laid back but memorable dining experience.
Every time I come here the service is friendly and attentive, and the food is delicious and quick. Tonight we celebrated my dad’s birthday there. He loved the chile verde! I had the crab enchiladas and highly recommend. They were super flavorful and a very generous portion. The home made tortillas are also a must! My increasingly picky two year old loved their rice and beans with chicken, and they were kind enough to make sure it came out quickly for him. Thank you for a wonderful experience! This place should have five stars in my opinion. 😉
Choza has become our favorite place for a girls’ night out, it's the perfect stop for margaritas before a movie at Bridgeport. The drinks are always strong and delicious, and I’m obsessed with the ceviche, fresh, bright, and so flavorful. The homemade corn tortillas are absolutely to die for, you can truly taste the difference. I recently found out it’s a locally owned, family-run spot, which makes me love it even more. In a center packed with big national chains, Choza stands out with its heart, quality, and authenticity. Highly recommend for date nights, casual dinners, or just drinks and apps with friends!
We stopped for lunch and it was pretty great. We seated ourselves which we enjoy cause that allows us to sit where we want :-) Service was good. Food was very tasty (except the chips and salsa- pretty standard) absolutely delicious coconut shrimp. Food came out in a reasonable time. Prices also pretty reasonable. We did not try the bar as we were driving thru town but watched the bartender mix some cocktails so pretty sure they have a full bar.
Choza has always been one of our favorite spots after our kickboxing class. Every time we’ve gone, we’ve had a fantastic experience. The staff is incredibly attentive, making sure we’re well taken care of without being intrusive. The atmosphere is exactly what you’d want—great energy, good music, and an overall welcoming vibe. Whether you’re looking to chill with friends or enjoy a lively night out, Choza delivers. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place with both great service and a great time!
One of the best restaurants in Bridgeport Village. It's a higher-end Mexican place with the regular offerings, though they're a little pricier and fancier here than what you may get elsewhere, fitting with the area it's in. I would highly recommend the fajitas, as they come to you fresh and are well-seasoned. I thought the prices were fair for the quality of the food. Compared to some other sit-down Mexican restaurants I've seen in the area, I honestly thought that it's an amazing deal here. The place can get crowded and busy during weekends, but it's not so bad during the weekdays. Service is nice and attentive. They also have great dessertd.
German was our server and cannot have a single complaint. Very polite and always on top of it. No once did we have to “flag” someone down. Thank you for making the experience great and we felt welcomed. Food was good, I would only ask the sides have a bit more seasoning but could be personal preference. Drinks were on point not a single complaint. Tequila variety is very good, horchata was great and doesn’t appear to be made out of those packets. Overall great place to come and experience a fun atmosphere and good food.
Tonight was my first time ever here, and it was absolutely worth the price. The food was phenomenal, portions are truly vast, the hosts/servers are attentive but not overly so, and if you like loud, lively, convivial dine-in experiences, Choza is for you! Of course, I HIGHLY recommend you get a reservation first as it is always swamped, and lines to wait for a table to open up can be over an hour (we witnessed a few people who had opted to stand and wait for a full hour, in fact. I will admit that the prices are even a little steeper than expected, yet as usual for a Hispanic eatery, the portion sizes are more than worth their pricing in gold. When I say generous, I sincerely mean it. Be prepared to get a to-go box to take out your unfinished leftovers for a well deserved round two! The atmosphere is modernist, VERY boisterous, busy and lively, with loud chatter of conversations all around that echo throughout this rather tiny space. If you are not comfortable with or easily overstimulated/overwhelmed by large crowds, lots of people and tons of chatter, this definitely is not going to be a pleasant or comfortable experience for you. For how much that is, and for the modernist styling (I personally have never been a fan, though let's face it, who cares, you're there for the food), I tacked off a half a star for each to 4 for atmosphere.
We went on a Saturday evening for dinner. We were told the wait was 20-30 minutes, which was fine but we ended up only waiting 10 minutes. The restaurant is very nice! I love the theme! We were given chips and salsa almost immediately and then waters came almost right after. I did notice on the menu, only the first basket of chips is free. I was a little taken aback by that but once the chips arrived, it made sense to me. The chips are very fresh. I didn't ask but they taste like they are made there in the restaurant and they give you a very large basket of chips so if we needed another basket, it made sense to pay the additional charge, which I think is just a couple of dollars. Now the food, EXCELLENT!! Its very authentic in seasoning and taste. The portions are big. I had enough to take to work for lunch the next day. I think the pictures speak for themselves. The carne asada fries are on the appetizer list of the menu but is portioned like an entree. Our server, Shalea, was great. We had an excellent experience and it was worth every cent. If you're looking for good, authentic, flavorful Mexican food, put Choza at the top of your list!
I wanted to try their tacos on a whim. I was prepared not to enjoy them and was pleasantly surprised I did end up enjoying them! I would even recommend them! Where they shine, however, is with their cocktails. My goodness what a delicious margarita! I ordered their carne asada, and their fish tacos with a blood moon margarita. I’ll note, I ordered the blood moon margarita because I noticed it was their in house sour blend. I didn’t notice the other flavors had that in the description. It did not disappoint! The tortillas are large, and made from what I tasted to be an harina and masa mixture (corn and flour). Their tacos are filling, but I’ll further note the fish tacos had too much slaw and my tortilla fell apart as I was eating it. All in all, I’d go back. I had a bite of my wife’s taco verde and it was so good I’d go back to try more menu items.
I’ve been wanting to come here for some time. It is a cool mix between restaurant and bar. Very cool vibe. The bar is a little separate so you can also come and have a drink from the pretty big drinks menu. The food is very good but not over the top. Good and quick service. The seating arrangement is a bit weird - all seats seem like you are just sitting in the middle of a big room.
We stopped in for a quick fuel-up before getting back to an all-day road trip. Place wasn't very crowded (~2:30 in the afternoon) so we were seated right away. I got the Taco Tuesday special (3 street-style tacos only) and my SO got a single taco with rice and beans. My tacos were barbacoa, asada, and chile verde. The chile verde was quite good; the other two were dry. The rice and beans were very good. Meal was filling, decent enough, and cheaper than fast food tacos. Perhaps the time of day affected the food somewhat... sort of 'post lunch leftovers.' We may try it again next time we're in the area and can hit lunch or dinner hour.
This restaurant was OK. just a step away from a fast food restaurant. The staff were ok. They seemed uninterested in providing a friendly engaging customer service experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was more on the cold hard surfaces side than the warm and cozy side. The flan was unexpectedly served with strawberry syrup. This was odd. I am allergic to strawberries. They replaced this flan, without question, with one minus the death-berries.
It was alright, but very overpriced! The tortilla chips were pretty good and the hot salsa was okay. I got the quesadilla and it was much different than what a normal quesadilla looked like. It was much different and not much cheese in it. That part I didn’t care for because I love an extra cheesy quesadilla! There was also a tiny bit of cheese and some green bell peppers in it as well. Which I didn’t like because it made it taste so bland! The dipping sauce was guacamole and it tasted amazing, I give that 5 stars. Overall it was okay in a way, but not the best.
The hard taco shells just about broke my teeth and the whole thing crumbled on the first bite, making my meal a taco salad instead of a taco. The steak was dry. There was barely any cilantro in them. The soft tortillas were good. The creamy tequila chipotle shrimp dish was good. The environment was ok, squishy, but fine. The server was professional and kept our water filled, but wasn't very personable. It was very overpriced. We would not return.
We’ve been multiple times as we live nearby. The food was always alright, but the margaritas are great. After not going for months due to this, we gave it another chance. It was very disappointing. They forgot about us, not giving us water, chips, or acknowledgement for over 15 minutes. Despite immediately giving water and chips for a couple sat long after us. Even after they realized we were there (they’d seated us there), they took another 5+ minutes to take our order and 5 after that to bring us water. The other couple got their food before they even took our order. It was only acknowledged with a passing “sorry.” We ended up having to cancel our plans for after as we had to get back to the kids. The food was just as okay as we remembered. Very disappointed and we will not be back.
Incredibly mediocre Mexican food at a premium and you get a cocktail glass for a $14 margarita. Happy hour here is also disappointing, anywhere that charges you $4 for a taco should always be suspect.
