Avis sur Tacos Victoria Centro
I went here about two years ago and to this day still talk about their tacos and orange sauce. Absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend eating here! I may be coming back to San Jose just for this taco place/some other local tacos! Definitely get this place if you’re in the area!
Delivery driver here. Had 2 orders from this place last night and thoroughly enjoyed my pick up. Employees were communicative and friendly. The atmosphere was lively and the building is darling. I didn't get a chance to eat the food. However I did smell it and I can't wait to go in and try it out for myself. There were quite a few people both times I was in the store which tells me it's a favorite among the neighborhood.
Great carnitas! came here after a sharks game for the famed orange sauce with some friends from the bay who'd never been. We were all impressed and loved it. Great staff very friendly chill vibe with good hearty food!
I would drive halfway across the country just to eat this food and I do it every single year and I never regret it for a second. The orange sauce is a little more spicy now though I don't know when that change happened but I did notice it this last visit. Nevertheless it's amazing
This location brings back great memories from high school. My friends and I used to come here a lot. My siblings and I also frequented this La Victoria location in downtown San Jose. The only issue with this place is you can never find parking. The best thing to do is park far away and walk over or just Uber here. This place is open late and the food is good. I'm just used to homemade Mexican food which is even better but this place gets a pass. The orange sauce they gave is too good to the point that they sell it in big bottles for you to take home. They started the orange sauce trend over fifteen years ago. It had lard or an animal product at first and the people that don't eat last such as myself put in suggestions. The owner or manager took it into consideration. They made a vegetarian sauce and then I think the sauce is vegan now! Yay! All inclusive.
Some of the most authentic Mexican food I’ve had. The burritos are huge and not over priced, came out quick and tasted amazing! Highly recommend stopping by if you can handle the heat with their famous orange sauce. As a visitor to San Jose, this food gives you a taste of the city!
Tried their Beef Quesadillas, truly one of the best I've had in SF. The meat is so tender, packed with flavors. The whole wrap had generous amount of fillings, all that complemented each other beautifully. This is a very fulfilling meal! I'll come back to try the other items. Also the orange sauce that came with the dish was sooo yummy, it had a nice smokey kick with hints of lime. Such an amazing sauce I'm thinking of buying an entire bottle next time!
My daughter is currently going to San Jose State University. When dropping her off the other day, I was trying to think of someplace to eat, and she said her classmates had often said they liked a local place called La Victoria Taqueria! I looked it up on Google and all everyone could talk about was how good the famous “Orange sauce” tastes. I ordered the grilled chicken super burrito for myself, and the regular veggie burrito (which is essentially a super burrito without meat) fire my wife. Note: I don’t live in San Jose, so we weren’t able to eat the food until 40 minutes later. Grilled chicken burrito: The grilled chicken burrito was excellent! I got mine without salsa, and I chose pinto beans. I did add the orange sauce, which looks like cheese sauce, but it isn’t cheesy at all…and it is spicier than I was expecting. Having never been here, I’m not sure why I thought the sauce would taste like anything in particular 🤔? I did notice that the sauce had subtle garlic notes. My wife’s veggie burrito. My wife also loved her veggie burrito, and she said she would definitely eat here again as well! I thought it looked a little lite in the filling department, so you might want to add extra beans or maybe opt for the super veggie if you’re feeling particularly hungry! Neither burrito was huge per se, but we both split our burritos into 2 meals. We will definitely eat here again! I’m truly not sure why the google ratings here are not higher! I really loved the food here. It was fresh and I was served quickly. Notes: 1. They give you orange sauce on the side if you ask for some. 2. There isn’t a tip option when you pay with credit here. I gave a $3.00 cash tip and the woman working there was very thankful! Please tip the staff here if you can afford it! I am only adding this note because their tip jar was empty. They do good work, so let’s show the workers at La Victoria that we appreciate them!!
La Victoria Taqueria is a must go to for authentic Mexican food in San Jose. My favorite are the Super Tacos and the huge burrito. My sister got the enchiladas and they were weird ..they were huge tortillas and huge strips of cheese that were coming off the tortilla , it almost looked fake. they should up their enchilada game and just use queso fresco and fresher chicken. However, the Super Tacos are fire! loaded with two tortillas, carne asada (or your meat choice), a little cheese I think, avacado, sour cream, and of course salsa! La Victoria is famous for their orange sauce, it is spicy but so good! I add some to my tacos even though they come with salsa anyway. They provide an in house bottles of orange sauce if you’re eating inside. If you’re taking your meal to go make sure you try the orange salsa . They may include one to go container for free and additional costs about 50 cents or so. You may buy a full size bottle for $8 to take home as well. This location is small with only a few tables available. It’s across the street from San Jose State University. The staff does a great job at maintaining the tables for the next guest . There is a restroom inside but when I went there was water or urine around the toilet floor. Whenever I’m in San Jose I make sure to hit up La Victoria because it’s that good!
I’ve visited this restaurant a couple of times with friends, and it’s become a must-visit spot for us. The food is consistently great, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Among all the items we’ve tried, the chips and pineapple juice stand out as absolute must-try dishes — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every visit has been a satisfying experience, and I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for tasty food and a chill vibe. Sharing some pictures of what we ordered to give you a glimps
Got tacos, 4.95 per taco, they’re large but they’re not that good Also has beans in it so it made up the bulk of the taco as opposed to meat
Such a disappointment. Moved to the Midwest a few years ago. Whenever I'm in town here I gotta get all the burritos and breakfast burritos. So, I go to La Vics yesterday for a breakfast burrito and orange sauce fix. They charge over a dollar to add cheese now when other taqueria just include cheese as part of the burrito. That in itself put me off. Then I get into the burrito and don't really see any cheese. I bring it up to the counter to ask if they forgot it cause I wanna get what I paid for. Lady behind counter grabs a fork and digs into the top and actually had to search for it herself. Then she sees it kinda hiding in the side of the tortilla. Then, the guy in the kitchen holds up a little sliver of cheese and smiles at me like he did me a favor. So, barely any cheese for a ridiculous up charge. To add insult to injury, the price of the burrito on my receipt was fifty cents more than what they have posted on the board. I feel ripped off. I won't be returning to La Vics ever again. The orange sauce isn't worth it.
This location is super rough for Saturday night, so partially my fault. I came by after a night of drinking and La Vic's is one of the few that is open later than others. It took about 40 min to get the burrito after I ordered. $15.26 for super steak burrito was a bit skimpy on the meat/portion sizes It is super slow and packed during this time. Parking can be super tough. In my eyes, definitely not worth the wait.
While eating my breakfast burrito, I began chewing on sand/dirt. I had to spit it out because it was crunching on my teeth. The employees gave me a refund but claimed it was just beans.
Its small business charm is long GONE! The food is no longer what it used to be 15 years ago. The entire team of staff are new and do NOT care about quality control and/or customer service. The worst tragedy is the decline in food quality – fatty meat, under seasoned sides, and the change in their once self-proclaimed ‘world famous’ sauce. It’s sad to see what was once a small business that had a team of workers who actually cared about serving quality dishes to the community become a greedy business focused on expansion at the cost of food quality and just throwing out as many plates out as possible to customers. La Victoria what you’re doing may be good for business, but never forget… good food IS(was) your business!!!
Nice people but the burrito i had was gross. How do you mess up a burrito?🥺 the meat was bland and so were the beans, they added salsa as seasoning ig? 💀 the horchata tasted like bubblegum it was too sweet. Its too bad bc the ppl seem nice. Just sucked to dish out 15 bucks for a burrito i couldnt even finish bc it was so gross… 4.50 for a horchata i couldn’t even drink half of. legit could make a better burrito at home. Tasted like tomato.
Asked for a side of sour cream for my quesadilla that was already supposed to have it but did not, and was told it will be $2 extra. Had the super burrito chicken burrito and was pretty bland in flavor. The price is too expensive for the service you receive and food.
We had tacos here and, unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The tacos lacked flavor, and even the salsa failed to impress. Instead of fresh salsas, they served bottled sauces, which diminished the authenticity and quality. As a taco lover, I had high expectations, but this visit fell short. I won't be returning here.

Centro's Tacos Victoria: Where Orange Sauce Reigns Supreme
You know, there are some spots in Centro that just get it right, year after year, and Tacos Victoria is absolutely one of them. It's not your white-tablecloth kind of place, more of a vibrant, bustling hang-out where everyone seems to know the drill. For locals, it’s a cornerstone, a place that brings back high school memories, serving up the kind of Mexican food that feels both deeply authentic and incredibly satisfying. My go-to? You can't go wrong with their super flour quesadilla with asad...

You know that place everyone talks about? The one that's a true local staple, famous for one thing above all else? In Centro, that's Tacos Victoria, and the star of the show, without a shadow of a doubt, is their legendary orange sauce.Seriously, people don't just like this sauce; they *obsess* over it. I've heard tales of folks driving literally halfway across the country, year after year, just to get their fix. It's that good – a vibrant, unforgettable flavor that just elevates everything i
