Location splendida in mezzo alle montagne. Ci si arriva in mezz'ora camminando in piano. Splendida sia d'estate che d'inverno!

Simpatico rifugio posto a circa 2.100 metri a 2 km dalla partenza della passeggiata Monterotta. Una ventina di coperti al chiuso e una quarantina sui tavoli all'esterno. Servizio abbastanza veloce e buona qualità del cibo. Menù ridotto (di solito 4 antipasti, 3 primi, 3/4 secondi, 3/4 dessert) composto quasi tutto di piatti tipici. Mitica la proprietaria, una signora anziana che fa filare tutti, clienti e dipendenti. Prezzi abbastanza contenuti. È quasi obbligatorio prenotare. Consigliato.

Posto con una vista incantevole raggiungibile con una bella passeggiata da Sestrieres . Secondo me però i prezzi sono un po’ troppo elevati, considerato il menù abbastanza ristretto su cui scegliere , anche se , capisco, siamo a più di 2000 metri di altitudine in mezzo alla montagna e non si può dare di più . Inoltre la polenta concia, caratteristica del locale , non era disponibile . I dolci erano squisiti.

A lovely refuge to stop for lunch midway through the hike. The staff is very friendly, and the service is informal and friendly, yet still attentive. The food isn't the best I've had in the area, but it's still good! Prices are a bit high; if the main courses and desserts were €1 less, I'd find it more reasonable. Highly recommended; I highly recommend stopping here if you're in the area!

Despite being just a few minutes' drive from the center of Sestriere on a paved road, we were struck by the atmosphere, thanks in particular to the stunning view from the outdoor seating. For lunch, there are a few typical dishes, from venison to polenta, from hare ragù to sausage. These vary depending on the day, as you can read on the blackboard. The desserts are superb. Prices are reasonable. Very friendly service; we really enjoyed our stay. Reservations are required on weekends.

then it can be... that is, a wonderful panorama, a modern place including very nice typical interiors..... as for the polenta I can say (having eaten it everywhere and especially in the Aosta Valley) that the prices are excessive for the portions and the lack of flavor...... DO NOT order a marocchino worse than dirty water and I'm not obsessed with espresso coffee etc etc but it was something I've never seen (the lady who made it was very good though) and so was all the staff... except for one lady who was visibly annoyed by our questions about the menu where she told us in an annoyed way that even if the polenta concia wasn't on the menu of the day she could make it (thank God) but only if it wasn't just one portion... so we had it for 3 and that's fine... when I asked to add some mushrooms (not on the GG menu but on the price list) she first mumbled that she didn't know if they had them... ok... then that maybe they weren't enough for 3 polentas... at which point I exclaimed that I wanted the mushrooms Only me... he replied that he was going to check it out... He arrived at the table with 3 polentas without a single mushroom, saying they didn't have any... well, either it was bad luck or they just make the dishes the same and that's it, without too many pretensions... OK. But his unkind manners cooled us a bit... never mind, that's not what will stop us from coming back, maybe for a drink and to enjoy the view.

Non amo recensire negativamente una struttura, capisco comunque che dietro c’è del lavoro. Ma credo che a volte serve anche migliorare…abbiamo preso un antipasto di tomini con peperoni in bagna cauda e polenta con salsicce…sarà un caso ma nel percorso di rientro non ci siamo sentiti bene…inoltre non credo sia equo il rapporto qualità/prezzo un po’ troppo alto. Niente da dire sul servizio e sulla baita che è tenuta benissimo ed ha una vista meravigliosa

The location is enchanting, but there are limits to respecting money that cannot be violated... 3 euro cover charge (and you have to ask for bread otherwise it won't arrive), 2 euros for a small bottle of water, 10 euros, yes 10 euros, half a liter of wine on tap (it costs them about 2 euros per liter maximum), but above all 17 euros for polenta and sausage (not even in starred restaurants) with a stiff paper plate divided in two, a few spoonfuls of polenta on one side and four small pieces of sausage on the other, a dish that costs them 1.5-2 euros exaggerating... anyway the whole menu is too expensive, what a shame 🤷

We arrived for a couple of spritzes, but were greeted rudely, as if we'd made some kind of request. We decided to sit down for lunch, and were seated inside instead of outside even though there was room, but whatever... We read the daily menu and the prices were INSANE!!! Absolutely NOT recommended. Politics: You come all the way here, and since we're the only ones there, we'll rip you off with ridiculous prices.

The Elp refuge is located on the Monterotta Sestriere (Turin) road that leads to San Sicario. A wonderful, priceless view, breathtaking, just like today, December 7, 2018. It's a shame the managers don't know what catering means. I'm not talking about fine dining, but simple sandwiches. And here's the rub. Ham and cheese sandwich (old, inedible bread). I ask the manager for an explanation, and he candidly replies that other customers have complained. So I say, "Change supplier." He replies that the bakery he uses is the only one that delivers. Now, it's about a 10-minute drive from the refuge to Sestriere, and the same to Cesana, and another 20 to Oulx, where there are bakers who bake excellent bread. If I were him, I'd go straight for this blessed bread. The first and second courses are delicious. The usual bulk wine, sic!!! The bill was normal, even though I wouldn't have charged for the sandwiches, or rather, I wouldn't have offered them. They really need to taste what you offer your customers!
