Avis sur Trolly Stop Hot Dogs Chapel Hill
This place is a gem! They pack so much flavor and juice ness into their food. The gluten free buns are the perfect texture, soft with a small crunch that is so scrumdiddly with the hot dog…. Their cheese fries are also so dreamy and somehow fresh tasting… the fries are never soggy! And the prices are amazing! U can’t find a better value meal on Franklin! Plus they have maple view ice cream, so forget about ben n Jerry’s!
The other day, I walked 2 miles up hill both ways to come here and grab a hot dog. Imagine my shock and heartbreak when I found out that it was closed for the summer 😔 these hotdogs were truly life changing and if u know me u know I’m a hot dog connoisseur. Don’t let the pictures fool ya, they don’t call it trolly stop hot dogs for nothing I’ll tell u that much
The food was good for the price. They were pretty cheap, especially for a place that's on Franklin Street in chapel Hill. The fries and the onion rings were to die for. Especially the fries. And the gentlemen working behind the counter were incredibly personable and we're very friendly to me and my daughter. My daughter raves about their burgers.
Absolutely delicious and interesting hot dog options that left me very satisfied. The chili-cheese fries were great too! Good beer selection as well. Great overall and underrated spot on Franklin, sad I don't see more people there.
Went for the first time today on a whim and loved the food. Burger my partner got (pictured) was delicious. The 3 kids got regular hot dogs with ketchup/mustard and devoured them. I got “the nuclear” hot dog and it was also great- hard to beat pickled jalapeños, am I right? Fries were super crispy and everything seems to be made right after you order so it’s all hot and fresh. Jeff was so kind and personable when he brought our food to us. Also, it’s hard to find a non-chain restaurant that you can feed a family of 5 for less than $30 these days- but we accomplished that here!
The price is RIGHT! I had a delicious dinner for less than $9 in Chapel Hill. Friendly staff, clean facilities, and Custom Hot Dog options for ever type of palate. P.S. They have ice cream and a few outdoor tables.
My girl and I were in Chapel Hill looking at houses for sale. We found this place by chance just walking up and down Franklin St, and we are so glad we did! Burgers, hotdogs, and fries sounded like an excellent meal. I ordered a double burger with fries, and she ordered a chili-cheese hotdog with fries. The burger was cooked beautifully (they asked how I wanted it!) and was so juicy. I tried the CC hotdog, and it was also excellent. An unexpected plus? Perfectly blended CHEERWINE! My best compliment comes in the form of the perfectly cooked fries. As Peter Griffin would say, "DING! Fries are done!" They were spot on in terms of texture, temperature, and flavor. The staff was friendly, and made sure my food was cooked correctly and tasted great. I am not a finicky or biased food reviewer, just a dude that likes good food. I would highly recommend Trolly Stop for a terrific meal!
They are known for their hot dogs, but the cheeseburgers are awesome! We were there on Oct 31, I didn't get the names of the two guys working that day, but they were really nice. They told us how they prepared their hamburgers & we had a few laughs about their wall menu, with the Dook dog! If you're ever in Chapel Hill, check them out.
This is my boys favorite hot dog shop in town hands down. They are delicious at a great price. We love that they have bottled sodas. Nice variety of options, we all get something a little different. I get a burger, my son gets grilled cheese, and my nephew and mom get hot dogs. My mom loves that they have relish, but they have a ton of toppings. Try it out!
The Impossible burger (Vegan) was sooooo delicious. My niece and I dined here while on her lunch break from the UNC med school program (yes I'm a proud aunt and I have to humbly brag) anyhow this place is awesome from the service to the food, the cleanliness!! With a 100% sanitation rate btw!! Eat here you wont be disappointed at all, I'd bet on it and we will be back😉👍👍👍👍👍
Very friendly staff. The hot dogs are delicious and cheap. I wish there were more condiment options, though. Like a variety of mustard, for example. You should also consider adding brats and/or sausages to the menu as well.
The hotdogs were excellent, the service was super friendly, and the price was unbelievable. I hadn't ever gone to the previous location, but the new location blew me away. I didn't really hear about it until the past few days, but I ended up going often enough that my wife vetoed more visits after 4 days in a row. In addition to having excellent hotdogs, the milkshakes were also pretty terrific. Outside of the ice cream shops, these have been the best milkshakes I've had on Franklin. I will be back. Often.
First time visiting yesterday, hot dog and fries were good, the cheese fries stole the show. Cheap eats, a combo with ice water for just over $5 is a steal, employees were really friendly too. Only thing is I wish they had bright leaf dogs, will be back!
I went during the Duke vs UNC game and called a week ahead of time to ensure I had an opportunity to dine in. The service and food were amazing. Definitely one of the best places to dine in while UNC plays Duke. The atmosphere was intense and even better when UNC wins, you get to watch the excitement bleed onto Franklin
I ordered two dogs, the American and the Mexican. I wanted potato salad but they were out so I ordered fried pickles. The American was chili, cheese, mustard, onions. The dog was warm and had a firm bite to it and it was longer than the bun. The chili had a good flavor. The Mexican had a sweet salsa on it which detracted from the overall dog experience (for me), but it was still good. The staff was friendly and very helpful. If you are in Chapel Hill you need to check them out.
Ordered a well done burger, got it basically raw, seriously bloody raw, I have an allergy to undercooked meat unfortunately. The manager was nice and professional and gave me my money back, but I won't be going back to a place that doesn't have basic line cook skills. Sad to throw away such a nice looking burger, but seriously you could see the uncooked ground patty meat right in the middle :( Update: Yes if you like I can stop by and show you a picture of the burger. My fiance who likes rare burgers couldn't even eat it, so if you are taking initiative to fix this, as a fellow business owner, I can 100% respect that.
