Avis sur Firewater Inn Chicago
Outstanding breakfast and perfectly balanced Irish coffee. Extremely inviting service nice vibe, music, and relevant TV channels. Will be back and recommend for everybody to do the same. Got my foot to go and was fantastic.
I believe our bartender is named Mike for short. She was a sweetheart, attentive and funny. Made great drinks and gave us great suggestion for bartender food. Overall, lively country bar. Will be returning
I haven't been this satisfied at a restaurant in ages. I got a brisket bowl that was humongous that I couldn't finish. Quality lean brisket homemade mashed potatoes and the best corn bread I've ever had. The waiter was great and not overbearing. My girl got the meatloaf and also said it was one of the best she's had in years. Each meal was under $20! I'll be there a few times a month for sure!
Great place to eat some fine tasting bbq, watch some sports, or take in a live concert on intimate stage with superb sound system. Friendly welcoming staff and engaging patrons. I go there alone sometimes to belly up or with my son, who begs me to take him here (he's 11). Go there!
I’ve been looking for a holiday bar or Christmas themed bar in my neighborhood for a while and Firewater has it! Firewater is a Christmas bar! I don’t know when this started happening but it’s grinch theme adorable and the best part is, it’s local! They have special drinks regarding grinchand it’s just all of the fun of a holiday bar that’s decorated with Christmas decorations and none of the hassle of driving to Wrigleyville.
Talk about festive. The team here did an amazing job decorating for the holidays. They didn’t just put a few decorations up, they went with a full theme, complete with scene-scaping, consistency throughout the entire restaurant and bar area and their outdoor dining area. Beyond that, the service was great and the food delivered. You can’t beat their chicken pot pie or bowls. Such a great experience.
Firewater is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Doc and Jamie is very nice. The restaurant is in good condition. Amazing pulled pork sandwich. Must come back. 10/10.
I absolutely loved my experience at Firewater Saloon in Edison Park! The vibe was amazing fun, welcoming, and full of energy. The food was fantastic, the service was top-notch, and the overall atmosphere made it a perfect spot to enjoy a night out. From start to finish, everything felt just right. Great food, great service, and an even better vibe — I’ll definitely be coming back!
Rolled up to this place after our ride and tried the BBQ pulled chicken sandwich with country-style potatoes on the side, and it hit all the right notes: smoky, tender, and packed with flavor. The potatoes were golden, crispy, and the perfect comfort side. My friend went for the chicken with chili sauce, and told me it was equally awesome — juicy with just the right kick of heat without overpowering the taste. Great spot, good portions, and perfect vibe for a weekend. Will definitely be back! 🔥🍗
We went to firewater for their grinch brunch and it was amazing. I will absolutely do this every year now. The Grinch is hilarious and stays in character the whole time the food is delicious. There’s tons of options and you also have the option to just order off the menu. They serve bacon chicken tenders, eggs, macaroni, pancakes, French toast, cupcakes, cake, pops cookies, a different variety per table too. They have adorable drink menu for the season. Total worth it! My little guys still talk about it every day
What a fun time ! When you get a greeting with a smile from the start you know you're in for a good time. Friendly service, very clean location with a hint of something good cooking in the air ! Live music was a plus & the line dancers were on point! Where do they get the energy 🤔.. itcwas fun to see men & women getting their 'line' on & enjoying it. Lots of large screen television sets for your sports pleasure & plenty of seating. Could maybe use a little larger bathroom but that's my only unpleasant comment. Great food menu from appetizers to what is definitely a full menu sandwich 🥪. Outdoor seating was available on this pleasant temperature night 🌙. Drink specials, wide variety of beers & spirits for your liking. Definitely stop by if you're in the area !
Probably one of the neatest, nicely stacked, and cleanest, bars I have seen in a long time in Chicago, granted Edison Park, along Northwest Highway. Definitely well-managed and well-owned. Attentive service all-around. Walked in close to 9pm tonight, a Friday. Grabbed some brews and cocktails, and also ordered Snakebites, and a Half Slab of their Ribs with a side of Sweet Potato Tatertots. Photos of meals shared here. Prices for drinks and meals are absolutely worth the visit. Did not realize how quickly this place would fill in. Live music started at 10pm but I think everyone that comes here are regulars/locals. Enjoyed the crowd, music, and as we left, the outdoor patio was even packed. Happy to see this area continue to live on. Would not mind stopping in again.
Really great breakfast menu and reasonable prices! We all enjoyed breakfast selections. My one friend asked for the wrap without the wrap and it was a huge amount of food- she said it was really tasty with the sweet potato hash The server was very accommodating and turned the music down for us, also separated checks without seeming annoyed. You can also order dinner or breakfast at anytime of the time which is a nice option. The place was hopping by 11am on a Saturday. I’d recommend it for a good friend gathering!
If country is your thing then this is the place for you. Not my thing but party on. the buffalo chicken eggrolls were great! And the bartender—I wish I caught her name, was so great! Made a great margarita and offered even better service.
The food is good - a bit under seasoned for my taste, but you get plenty of it. They do not have real butter, which is a must with pancakes for my crew. The servers are friendly, though they had large sections so the service was on the slow side. Very kid friendly, clean bathrooms, decent prices. Overall a good experience.
Had a work lunch at Firewater and 2 of the three meals were great! BBQ Chicken Salad was delicious, I had the corn bread as a side and so yummy. My colleague had garlic bread as his side, and again tasty! Our 3rd colleague ordered Cake Batter Pancakes - they smelled delicious and looked great! As she was eating the pancakes the taste/scent of onions became apparent. Either when the pancakes were cooked or the plate they were served on had onion residue. Disappointing! We'll be back but wanted to call out the issue.
Server Gabby really needs to check her attitude. Food was delicious, but she clearly hates her job. If you don’t like it, you should find something else to do for a living. I got a breakfast sandwich and when I asked for it on a bagel, she straight up told me “no”, though the menu says it’s an option with an up charge of $2, which I was willing to pay. When we asked another server to split the bill, she told Gabby who said “oh hell no”, and she brought one check. She checked on us 2 times and it was not busy while we were there. I didn’t say anything because I was with a friend who is a regular, and I’ve had good experiences with Veronica.
Just visited Firewater the other day and unfortunately had a bad experience with sever “billa” (I’m not sure on the spelling). She was very aggressive while my friends and I were looking for a seat. She was cleaning off a table and we asked if we could sit there and her response was “ok what can I get you”. We weren’t ready to order much yet so my one friend just got a drink. She kept hounding us and got really upset when we weren’t ordering more. We even saw her talking about us to other people. We watched her be rude and pushy towards multiple customers. She also spent a lot of her time dancing with the old men and being their arm candy, obviously looking for a tip. I have enjoyed every past experience at firewater, especially with the servers that have been working there for a long time.
After stumbling across FS on Maps. We were intrigued by their westernesque dinner menu enough to stop in during Happy Hour on a Wednesday. Very open sportsbar atmosphere, and it seems capable of hosting a decent enough sized crowd that might come by for drinks on the weekend. As I mentioned above, we went during happy hour, so appetizers were half priced, and we ordered a trio of them. All are pictured above. The potato skins were very acceptable in size and taste. Snake bites (bacon wrapped jalapeno with cream cheese) were about average, and the BBQ Pulled Pork Egg Rolls were tasty, but only 2 per order. Avoid the Jambalaya (pictured). It was terrible. It tasted exactly like generic store bought taco seasoning. Far from authentic and out was very soupy and probably closer to a Gumbo than Jambalaya. I'm super bitter about this because I was excited to try it, and I hate taco seasoning. The server, a young lady, was also spotty at best. Didn't introduce herself or ask how our dishes were. She was attentive with water refills, though, so she gets credit for that. I'm intrigued by the brisket and the wings but I'm not sure I would come back.
I typically never write google reviews, but this weekend was the last straw. I’ve been here multiple times now, and unfortunately this isn’t the first time I’ve felt this way. The female bartenders were once again rude, dismissive, and acted like we were inconveniencing them. We’ve always been respectful, tip well, and treat staff kindly — so it’s frustrating to consistently feel unwelcome. They constantly seem annoyed to be there, which is disappointing considering they chose to work at a lively environment. At this point, I’m honestly just very displeased with the repeated attitude. On another note, the bartender in the cowboy hat and other male bartender were a lot friendlier, attentive, and actually made us feel valued. The female bartenders could learn a thing or two from them.
Used to be our go to. We have been there so many times. We went there recently and they were “out of tequila”. Well, at least the good stuff… I settled for Hornitos Then, we went back with some friends a week later and they were “out of tequila” again. All they has was El Jimador. Cheap tequila. All this after we told our friends what a great place it was. All I’m saying is there is a liquor store less than a block away. You could have sent someone there to get a bottle of any descent Tequila and we would have been ok with it. Zero effort on the ownership. To the owner. Do what you need to do to make your customers happy. Plus, it was an opportunity to make money for the business. I’ll miss the great fried chicken but you lost us for good.
