Great variety of food, quality products, good service, cozy environment and a lot of street parking. For us, the must try is the fried avocado, that’s something rare to find somewhere else, very original and solid portion. Also the fried chicken & pancakes offers the best of two worlds (sweet and salty). Mimosas are with fresh squeezed OJ. Overall, good option in the neighborhood.
Really great brunch place for a quick bite. Small but solid menu, and everything is made to order. Ranchero Bowl was fresh and flavorful, and the Impossible Breakfast Sandwich was excellent. Avocado fries (and regular fries) were a great compliment to the meal. Staff was friendly, and prices were good. Will come again
Amazing! Friends recommended this and we are so grateful. First, the service was top notch. Our waiter was very welcoming and attentive. He gave excellent recommendations on what we should try. The avocado fries were so good especially the sauce. I had the Huevos Rancheros and my wife had the Apple Carmel Pancakes. Both were very satisfying. Can't wait to come back to try other dishes.
Great place. First time here. Bloody Mary's are awesome. Smoky, spicy with a butter pickle? OMG. Everything was delicious. Their homemade English Muffin was super moist and perfect for an egg sandwich. Mac n Cheese had a sharp flavor to it, noodles were slightly over cooked. We started out with the Fried Avocado which was great too. That Bloody Mary though...:-D
food was absolutely delicious! Easy experience of walking in and ordering at the counter, then sitting down and getting to enjoy the spring breeze while waiting for the food to be delivered. Coffee was great and food came quickly. Definitely stopping by again.
Didn't expect their "fresh" approach to come across so noticeably in their food. I had the shrimp & fried oyster po boy and it was one of the most mouthwatering items I've ever eaten. Their food is cooked perfectly and tastes delicious. The avocado fries are highly recommended as well!
Yet to be disappointed!!! And they have remodeled and have a beautiful inside as well as patio! Perfect for lunch, brunch, or dinner. New drinks on the menu and the staff feels like family! I love it here! It’s a great nook that won’t hurt your pockets but Will fill your belly!!!
Nana's is a Bridgeport gem. Venture down Halsted and you'll find nana on the corner serving up.some great breakfast and brunch items. The restaurant is set up like a dining hall, step up, order and sit. The Nana servers will do the rest. We ordered the special chicken and pancake, french toast and the oh so good avocado fries. They are a must have with a crunch and smooth texture in every bite. The chicken and pancake has a sweet Sriracha sauce that was a play on traditional syrup... Very creative and was devoured. No need to get fancy, the Metropolis coffee is spectacular, well balanced and flavorful. Just get a drip and ease into.your morning at Nana.
I love this place! the service was perfect. the food was delicious. everything was fantastic. I will definitely be back. I don't recall if they have vegan options. I was hungry so I ordered pancakes and it was good and it filled me up. I ordered the watermelon margarita and it was nice but next time I will get a sugar rim. The ambiance is nice, and they have painting hanging on the walls that can be purchased.
What a great little gem here. Food is great and serving staff are awesome. I got nanadict and absolutely enjoyed it. If I’m in the area, I will definitely return and try other food on the menu. Oh coffee was also great!
This place is amazing. The pictures are what we had to eat: the empanadas, Full Red Velvet French Toast and Nanadict. It was so good. I didn't want to leave. The place was so busy and I can see why. It took a little while to get the food but after eating I didn't mind the wait. Louis was really cool and down to earth. Checked on us quite a bit and made sure we doing ok. We also tried the hot chocolate and apple cider both were sooooo good. Only complaint is that what they gave wasn't enough I wanted more. I think they give you just enough for your taste buds to enjoy the food it then your done without even realizing it, and now youre wanting to buy more (which I was really close to doing.) Everything cost $50 which was unexpected but totally worth it. We will be going back at least once a month.
The huevos rancheros were so delicious and chorizo was done perfectly! Their food is amazing and I would definitely go back! Situated in a cute little area of Bridgeport, this place is delicious and the atmosphere cozy and friendly- give it a try!
Was looking for a breakfast spot that might have vegetarian options. Found NaNa's and we were NOT disappointed. I ordered the Plaintain Chicken Sandwich, and my BF got the Garden Omelet. Both meals were DELICIOUS!!! I also ordered a strawberry mojito that didn't disappoint!
Had the huevos rancheros and hot chocolate after my meal, so much flavor in both, The place is also really cute, with nice music, Hanna was our server, she was really kind. You def need to try them out!!!!!
The food and watermelon margaritas were delicious (and we got a virgin watermelon cooler for my son). The counter service is actually great - you can order when you're ready, and leave when you're done. No need to wait for a server.
We came as a group of 6 for brunch. Service was friendly. Food was delicious. I ordered the nanadict, which was the best eggs benedict I've ever had. The addition of the chorizo is amazing.
I ate here three times already for brunch and they never disappoint. Their huevos rancheros and benedicts are delicious. I highly recommend their golden chai. For non-dairy people, they can substitute the milk for oat milk which was pretty good.
The ambiance was so relaxing. Me & hubby did brunch & it was fantastic. I really enjoyed my stuff french toast w/ guava cream cheese, & my mango margarita was decent. This place gets a thumbs up👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Went here for lunch, really nice menu. Food was great and service was excellent. Nice wine selection too.
Yea. Everything was amazing! Service, avocado fries, potato soup, French toast, chorizo sandwich, bloody Mary. Well worth trying out.
Nana is an unbelievable place to have breakfast/ brunch. Their nanadicts have a superb muffin as a base, please order the soyrizo (chorizo made of soy), coffee with perfect blend and body. Chilaquiles with poblano salsa are tasty and resemble a tamal. Orange juice is a real orange juice. However, besides the food, the service one of the kind, our waitress (Maggie) accommodated all our request:) the bread on the side, the eggs with whites and soyrizo..... so difficult to find a place in Chicago where they client receives what is asked. Amazing i would easily give more than 5 starts. ☆☆☆☆☆
In order of appearance: the Ginger-Turmeric Chai was fantastic! Avocado fries were on point (although I would have like some extra sauce). Eating the Po Boy, I forgot that I don't like Oysters- it was tasty. The cauliflower was a subtle delicacy. Last, and definitely not least, the flourless cake - delicioso! Oh, and the service and ambience was pleasant. :)
Hidden in Bridgeport is Nana. It's local fresh produce and fantastic flavor. Great options for vegetarians too. We love coming here for brunch. Try the avocado fries!
Place is really really good ! Food was hot THEY DONT AKE CASH !!!! So be ready to swipe Also there Mango Cooler is Amazing
The mac and cheese is my favorite however, everything is fresh and delicious.
This family friendly restaurant has something on the menu for everyone. I enjoyed the Vegetable Omelet which included delicata squash and roasted beets. A side of chicken sausage rounded out the meal. I sampled the taffy apple pancakes, which were fluffy and delicious in a generous portion easily shared by 2. Nice selection of breakfast cocktails, like spiked hot chocolate. My cranberry mimosa was refreshing. Looking forward to returning on my next trip to Chicago.
Simply delicious. The espresso drink cups are HUGE but the portions are excellent. The food took a little while longer than I'd like, but the wait was no issue with such a pleasant ambiance inside. I got the croque Madame and when it arrived it looked great and tasted better. I'll be returning!
It's a nice and chill little spot for a quick bite to eat. Staff is friendly, and I enjoyed my conversation with the manager. My friend and I split the French toast and I ordered a breakfast bowl and it was good. I will definitely be back to this hidden gem.
Food is phenomenal. Service is excellent. Music is absolutely on point. They were playing Rhythm of the Night as we were sitting down. And they played it AGAIN before we even got our food. I am not being sarcastic when I say this is an amazing power move. Our table all agreed that the food was taking so long to come out because the kitchen was busy deciding which banger to play next. Thank you Nana, we will be back.
This is one of my new favorite finds. Everything was fresh, choices were incredible and the atmosphere was relaxing. Our waitress was very efficient and the manager Tomas was so kind. They treat you like family. I will definitely be back even if I have to travel a distance it is most certainly worth it. I had the chicken breast sandwich with pickeled asparagus and fried Avocado fries. AMAZING!!!!
Nana was amazingleciously, the food was very well served. We were lucky to be seated right away although it was full, we got taken care of about 2-3 min after. They gave us a good couple of min to go over the menu, as soon as we were ready, we ordered. Since it was busy our food took about 30 min but our breakfast was still fresh. The only bad review I have to say is that the server left his thumb print of sauce on one of the plates. Other than that everything was great including the bathrooms.
From the second we walked it was a welcoming aura. Staff was bright and friendly. The modern, urban, industrial vibe filled the air. Although there weren't prepared for vegan guests..... accommodations were made to the existing menu for appetizers and entrees. In addition, there was no vegan dessert option. Overall it was a good dining experience.
The host was unfriendly to us as we waited to complete our table before seating us (the entire party must be there). He then made a big deal about us having a child with us and that they count as an entire other seat, even though he wasn't eating and usually places just pull up a high chair. That's fine, but the child had been with us the entire time, so to make it into a thing at the last second was really unnecessary. That just didn't feel so "family friendly" as they like to boast. The server was friendly and the food was good - interesting and unique flavors. I got the plantain sandwich which was tasty. It's a shame they weren't more welcoming to us when we arrived. Not the biggest deal, but it's not a great first impression. When there are so many good restaurants in the city, we won't be returning to this one.
Well balanced flavors. Poblano sauce is on everything but in a good way. Fresh squeezed citrus juices. Very good service and vibes.
This spot is so cute! Great ambiance and art work! The food was fresh. I heard great reviews about the avacado fries and the shrimp and oyster po boy and they did not dissapoint. I could have taken some seasoning to the avacado fries breading, but the aioli that comes wit it got the job done. The po boy was great. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because honestly $10 for an order of avacado fries is a bit much. There were only 5 fries. So I pretty much paid $10 for 1 avacado. But still, I had a good experience and I will definitely go back.
Pleasant place with tasty food. The wait staff were attentive and it felt like a great place to eat with family. Pictured is the Farm Beef Burger.
Very solid breakfast. First time having avocado fries and they were really good. French toast actually tasted like Mexican chocolate. The rum cake for dessert was fresh and clean tasting. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly.
I was really excited to come here because of the one kitchen multi businesses idea, however the service was low quality. The food was okay. This place is overrated and for the gentrified community. I got the guava stuffed French toast and my partner got a breakfast burrito as well as two drinks. It was not bad but definitely not worth the wait we experienced. A place that can be skipped.
Great service, but I was dissapointed at the food. The rice was very dry and flavorless. The food was pricey considering the portions they serve. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food then I recommend you go elsewhere because, the tacos were expensive and the rice was flavorless and dry.
A coworker picked up an oyster and shrimp po'boy for me. I also had the farm greens salad with Italian dressing. I started with the salad. It was very good. I especially appreciated that it had baby spinach (for some reason, most times fresh spinach has an off taste to me these days). Next was the po'boy.. aside from seeming to miss an oyster, it looked beautiful! First bite, very good! I don't know if it was that I was so hungry to begin with, but the next couple of bites were the pits. That's when I noticed that the shrimp was not deveined! How.. who.. what! I was thoroughly surprised, shocked, bewildered, and disappointed to see such a sight. No self-respecting establishment (of caliber I would have placed Nana's) should ever allow poop (essentially) to be served! It took away my appetite to say the least. One of the pics is of what I ended up throwing out. It also includes another thing I kind of detest.. the uncored end of a tomato. (side-eye) I would have been better off with the oyster only po'boy (which was my initial thought to get). I'd go back for that ... and that delicious salad! P.S. ;) the sandwich was a bit cumbersome/ sloppy to eat as well... possibly too many wet ingredients added.. then, again, they did add flavor.
Brunch choices only. Food is good and refreshing. If you are a meat lover i suggest you go else where. Good place only Light breakfast
I came here for a Sunday brunch with friends, the day was beautiful and they seat us in the outside area which was nice! The waitress was super friendly and helpful... They don't have many options in the menu and they don't have the daily specials written down, so the waitress need to tell it 3 times until everyone get it (we were in a table for 8) and to be honest I forgot the options but the time she was done! I had the Benedict eggs and my boyfriend had the huevos rancheros and a squash soup... My dish came with salad and potato totes which I loved, the eggs were good but not the best thing I ever tried... I really didn't like the sauce in the Ranchero's dish... We both order coffee and it was good... Our total was $50 + tips, which I think is a little expensive for two dishes, 2 coffes and a cup of soup... I don't think we will be coming back here
Well we will probably never visit again. Everything you see in the photo was $30. There was nothing special about the food. The staff was amazing and nice, though. They had a hard time understanding the concept of what kind of coffee we wanted and had to remake it 3 times. Every coffee we received was undrinkable. Bitter with coffee grounds swirling in it. I was a bit confused on the “brunch” part of this establishment. This spot is a hipster cafe meets chipotle..not in a good way.
Ordered for pick up "Fried chicken & Pancakes" and "home fries." The fried chicken was burnt and had too much breading. There was at least 2 times as much breading as there was chicken. The pancakes were alright and the spicy syrup that was included was good. On the other hand, the home fries had bits of rice in it. It seemed like there wasn't enough for it to be actually part of it, so I really hope that it wasn't from an old plate that was either returned or a customer didn't pick up. Overall 2 stars, wouldn't recommend. There was also no utensils or napkins included. But that doesn't matter much.
I ordered the Mexican burrito and it was very bland. I felt like I was eating a soggy paper towel wrapped in a huge tortilla. Would not recommend at all. I appreciated the free water dispenser in the restaurant but the water in it was disgusting. It tasted like old ice was used or like the container was never washed. I also ordered an apple cider cocktail and it was delicious. I was really hoping to like the food because of the location and the employees seem nice.
This place used to have very good brunch. Today I was there and the menu had very few items and way overpriced. They also refused to take my cash, would only take a credit card. I got a burger, fries separately (they don't come with the burger like most places), and guava cheesecake. They brought the food to the table like fast food. They didn't even give us napkins or condiments. I got up to go ask for ketchup and napkins. I finished my food and realized they never gave me my guava cheesecake. Again I got up to go ask for it. Like 3 people were confused trying to look for to get to me. Finally a manager or someone came back to my table and told me they were actually out of cheesecake that's what had happened. It would've been a good idea to tell me that right away instead of waiting till I go looking for it!
I have been here many times and the food is very good. But, on the last visit, we felt rushed through our meal. Appetizer came before drinks, and entrees arrived before we could even finish our app’s. Understood the kitchen is small, but it felt more like they were turning the tables than trying to keep our food warm and fresh. The check was dropped before we were even done eating. In and out in less than 30 minutes with a bill of $57.
This restaurant is for the gentrified community!!!!!! My family and I felt robbed by the prices, portions and quality we were served that are EASILY accessible in other nearby neighborhoods with better traditional flavors and are ABSOLUTELY MORE REASONABLY PRICED. This place is RIDICULOUS and on top of that its SELF SERVE.!!! For the amount I spent on basic breakfast items Id rather support another local restaurant with workers who really need the support. 4$ for skimpy side of bacon, and an overpriced breakfast sandwich thats no bigger that the size of my hand with ingredients I can purchase at the local Aldi grocery store. Not for mi gente.
This place used to be sooo good. Ordered Ranchero bowl and a Mexican Bloody Mary. Everything is in to-go containers, order at the counter, menu significantly reduced, and drink was too thick and bitter. It’s no longer the cute brunch spot that you want to bring your guests, unfortunately. It’s where you go when you’re in a rush, alone, and just need to grab something quick. The guy that takes your orders isn’t welcoming either. I’ve been to Ajo next door and he was the same way. It’s more like McDonalds now (fast casual), food was bland, and disappointing. Super sad. This used to be a really nice, almost upscale, spot, you felt good sitting here. Wah.
Avocado fries were tasty, carrot apple soup was as well except for the rubber band that was in it which I ended up taking a spoon full of, along with the portion of the Avocado that is normally attached to the branch of the tree being something I ended up chewing on as well. Check your food before you start to enjoy! The bartender/server was awesome!!!!! Best thing they have going there. She was so welcoming.
