Meze Moon

Tonight was my first time there and it was wonderful, can’t wait to go back. The food was delicious- very fresh. The owner was so friendly.

We celebrated a friend’s birthday dinner here and had a great experience. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. The owner Emin also came by several times to chat and was so fun to get to know. Highly recommend checking this place out!

I would give this place a 12/10 if I could!! I happen to be in Chico on business and stumbled across this amazing restaurant. The service is exceptional, and the hospitality that we received from Emin, the owner, was best in class. The would needs more business owners like him! He has so much pride in his restaurant, and that shines through. The food was so delicious and flavorful. The appetizers, salads and falafels were delicious. Everything is made in house (including the desserts) using the freshest ingredients. Do not miss out on the Turkish coffee and coffee reading from Emin! I can’t wait to return the next time I am in town!

What an experience! My husband and I shared the hummus and then I ordered the beef/lamb gyro plate while my husband ordered the lamb shish kabobs! This was some of the best Turkish/Mediterranean food we've ever tried! Plus - we ended our meal with a sampling of the house-made baklava and a Turkish Coffee. The highlight of the experience was having my fortune told by the owner from the grounds of my coffee - absolute magic. They say that the first step of Turkish coffee fortune telling is charismatic story telling - and, let me tell you - the owner nailed it! :) We will be back!!

We went to get some baklava to go but the server was so nice we decided to stay for lunch. Hands down best service, food, and atmosphere for a dining experience we've had in a long time. We will definitely be back.

This place was amazing! The food and the service and ambiance was all wonderful. We went for my sisters birthday and they really did the most to make her feel special and we got a dessert tower as well to celebrate.

We have been here twice, both times the Meze Moon Sampler is a hit! The lamb and chicken and salmon were all amazing. The next time we took my daughter there for her birthday and it was very memorable! Great staff and food. Will definitely go back.

Authentic, fresh, delicious and plentiful! The owner is frequently present and ensures you are treated like beloved members of the family. Staff are attentive and kind, the atmosphere is beautiful with cozy nooks as well as seating for large parties. Many options for carnivores, vegetarians and even vegans. If weather is mild, patio tables offer the best Chico immersion experience. A stand-out family-friendly spot we will return to again and again!

Went out to dinner for the first time at Meze Moon and had a great time! The host/owner, Emin, was very polite and helpful, made us all feel like friends! The food…best Mediterranean food in the area! Prices are super reasonable for the quality and amazing flavor! Will be going back regularly! I ordered to go at the restaurant itself. The staff was very friendly and made me feel welcomed even though I wasn't dining in. I was even offered a table and some water while I looked over the menu and waited for my food. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a cozy feel to it. The food was amazing. I will definitely be coming back for an in-house dining experience.

Service was fabulous. My steak was incredible and my brothers got the lamb, amazing. Homemade baklava, everything was great!

We had the best dining experience ever at Meze Moon Mediterranean Restaurant in Chico, CA. I recommend it highly! The hospitality, atmosphere, service, and food were all exceptional! We enjoyed a sampling of many different Mediterranean dishes (beef and chicken kebabs, salmon, and lamb gyro), wines, and appetizers. The flavors were amazing, and the quality was the best. This isn't to rate their in-house food, but I wanted to share that the boxed sweets are great! I have been talking about how I missed the Mediterranean markets in Sac since we moved, and my husband picked these up for me for mother's day. They are amazing!

Get yourself a plate o food and a cup o bev at meze moon this weekend. I highly suggest the appetizer sampler or a lovely stuffed eggplant on your next date night.

We went to Meze Moon tonight in Chico. Hands down, the best Mediterranean restaurant that we have ever been to. The cuisine was wonderful. I had the vegetarian moussaka, and my husband had the lamb shank… OMG! If you are in the Chico area or up for a short drive for a date night, a must try!!!

Gorgeous, simple decor with a true Mediterranean feel. The dessert display case alone is worth the trip inside. The food is phenomenal. I got the house salad with chicken and pilaf. DELICIOUS! Try this spot out!

I am always a fan of good local cuisine, especially if it is something out of the ordinary. I had the lamb kabobs with a traditional yogurt/herb dip and rice pilaf. And my wife had the chicken kabobs desert which was a fabulous pistachio baclava. Finally a real Turkish coffee. My only regret is the wait staff seemed to be painfully slow, I can only imagine what the wait would be if the place was busy. Otherwise, in the future I will probably come back because this is definitely worth a visit.

I have had several of their appetizers and entrees and never been disappointed. Some of my favorites include the salmon, the hummas, the steak, and the baklava. If given the opportunity, I would highly recommend eating at this fantastic restaurant and supporting the exceptional staff. You will not be disappointed.

I cannot say enough positive things about this restaurant. When you walk in, that atmosphere is very inviting. They have beautiful music, ambience, and aesthetic. You are immediately welcomed with a very friendly smile from the owner and the chef himself. They have so many authentic Mediterranean items to choose from. Their dessert selection is incredible and everything I tried was delicious. And parking downtown can be difficult, but it is right around the corner from a nice big parking area. 10/10 highly recommend! Check it out!

This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. The owner is so kind and truly treated us like family when we dined in! The food was so fresh and delicious. I’ve had hummus, baba ghanoush, tzatziki- but never like this. The flavors were amazing! The Turkish delight and mint tea after dinner were such a dream. I ordered the stuffed eggplant, and my grandma got the moussaka; both were absolutely amazing! The owner even read my coffee cup- with amazing accuracy! I can’t wait to come back. What a wonderful experience. I highly recommend to anyone!

Meze Moon lived up to all I have been hearing. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, but not overly slow. The atmosphere was quiet and charming. The food was delicious!! We shared the Meze Moon combo, and every selection was fantastic!! Will definitely be back.

We ordered multiple apps in photos: a gourmet Lentil soup, our fave was the Ezme spread with homemade breads, Sigar Borek spinach filo rolls and Crispy Feta Cheese, along with entrees, desserts and Turkish coffee which was better than espresso. Everything was delicious and beyond our expectations. I thought I knew Mediterranean food but they had dishes I never heard of and gourmet twists on my favorites. Wowed us at a good price, can't wait to eat here again!

We ordered Turkish coffee, two falafel dishes, and baklava and also the complimentary bread and herbed butter (so good!). We appreciated how many items were house made and the care that went into creating the food. Owners and servers were so kind, welcoming, and helpful and went above and beyond for us and other patrons. Bonus that they’re open late! This kind of place is needed in Chico. We will definitely be back.

The front door was a little sticky to open so it may seem like they are closed but they weren't. I didn't see any hours posted or open sign outside. Worth a visit.

Boy did I luck out showing up here on the day they got their alcohol license to be served the first glass of wine! The special vegan sampler platter was simply amazing, every bite was epic. Thank you for making the experience special!

What an amazing place! From fresh fantastic food to amazing service... I was taken away. This food here is the chicken kabob and a lamb gyro. It is so light and fresh. Must try Turkish coffee and Turkish delight is a must.

Came here on a whim and left having a new favorite restaurant. The restaurant is so pretty and very clean. Service was amazing. We were doted on from the moment we stepped inside. I’ve had Mediterranean food many times and this was BY FAR the best I’ve ever had. I ordered the falafel wrap and my mom ordered the chicken gyro. We also tried the baklava and Turkish coffee. To die for. Each dish was so flavorful. I can’t wait to try everything else on the menu. I am so excited about this place. Already planning my next visit.

I believe it is primarily a logistics problem of some sort and not an inherent problem in the menu or ambiance. I ate there yesterday around 7 pm, Friday night. First of all, they were out of three or four of the most popular dishes I wanted to try. This made me settle on my fourth (fifth?) choice. I simply don't understand how Friday evening you can be so off on your prep estimates. Second, only one waitress and who I assume was the owner were working front of the house. They were both very nice and kind, however clearly understaffed and harried. Again, I'm not sure why you would be so short staffed for Friday dinner when people are crowding in. This chaos also may have contributed to a couple of items on my plate being a bit colder than expected. Third, the plate in the picture was ~$32 before taxes or tips. That's it. (Ignoring complementary bread.) Now, I'm from the Bay, so it's hard to scare me with high prices. However, this was disappointing even by Bay Area standards: I know of excellent Mediterranean places there where you can get more food for similar prices. Overall, I feel that something is going on where the owner is feeling squeezed by rent or costs or whatever that's forcing them into this situation. I sympathize. I don't underestimate the difficulty of this business. However, other restaurants do deliver more at this price point. And the potential is there: the location, space, and food is fundamentally good. So the only explanation I can think of is that there is some series of underlying cost structure errors leading to this outcome. I hope it improves!

Unfortunately, during a recent visit with my family, I had to ask multiple times for gluten-free options, and I was ultimately served food that contained gluten after being reassured it was safe. This left me seriously ill and embarrassed for recommending the restaurant. While the appetizer was comped, the gesture didn’t address the larger issue of inconsistent training around dietary accommodations. I truly hope the restaurant improves staff training so this doesn’t happen to others. I would love to return if I knew gluten-free safety was handled consistently, but for now I can’t recommend it.

I adore Mediterranean food and have been wanting to try Meze. Today I finally did, ordering a gyro wrap. It was so incredibly disappointing. Even though it cost $23 I threw it in the trash after 2 points. There was barely any meat, and what was there was cold, tough and tasteless. The little bit of lettuce and tomato were disgusting. No onions or sauce despite my request for them. Seriously, tge gyro at Arby's for $10 is 10x better and FRESH. It seemed liked Meze just threw together a couple pieces of leftovers. Absolutely disgusting. Two bites and into the trash.

Every time we asked (which was FIVE times) we clarified that the bread needed to be gluten free. Absolutely criminal. The main they had ALSO had gluten in it after we specifically stated they could not have gluten due to having a severe allergy aka celiacs. We also had to ask three times for more bread before receiving it and twice to get more water. Absolutely horrible service! I would understand if it was a busy night, but there wasn’t very many people. The food was looked okay but was incredibly dry and not very edible. Never eating here again because both me and my boyfriend have been feeling sick since we got home. Would not recommend to those with dietary restrictions or allergies as they do not take them very seriously at all.
