Now this spot is amazing!! Their salsas are fire!!! Great Mexican food. They are from San Diego and you can tell, great taste! My family and I had pozole, albondigas and street tacos I added sour cream to mine 💕 oh and their soups are served everyday!

This restaurant is unbelievable!! It may not look like much on the outside, but step inside and you'll be a believer. The food is both priced affordable AND extremely tasty. The flavors come bursting through with every bite, and the portions are humongous. Burritos are thick and wholly stuffed with ingredients...nachos are huge and piled high... cheese is plentiful, salsa generous, and don't get me started on the quesadillas (it is enough for 2 days). I haven't tried the same thing twice in 8 visits, and each time I've come away extremely full AND with leftovers for another meal. The only takeaway...I can only give 5 stars. I recommend this place above 85% of Chico Mexican Food restaurants and trucks. Enjoy!! Edit as of 4/14/22... I've repeatedly frequented this establishment, with the same results. Absolutely TERRIFIC food and service, and an increase in foot traffic. Word gets around, and I'm glad. This restaurant deserves it.

Walking in, you'll find a vibrant dining room and a pleasant smile behind the register. The food is amazing. If you find the menu to be higher prices than you're accustomed to, fear not, the portions far exceed your expectations. I could go on about the food, but that's not what makes the taco shop shine. The star of the show is the exceptional service. The front end was kind and friendly without being intrusive. The owner could be seen doing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to cooking, food prep and mopping yet still took the time from her closing routine to bid my family a good evening. In totality, the sum is greater than its parts and this restaurant will now be in my routine for Mexican food.

Friday December 9, 2022 lunchtime. The foot and service was excellent. Wife had the queso-birria and she loved it. My son had the carne Asada quesadilla and he loved it. I had the Carne Asada burrito and it was fantastic. When you come try the little carrots; so good….

Quality food that's is amazing. I had the redding burrito and it was so packed I couldn't even finish it. Price was on point for how good the meal was, im glad I found this place I will definitely be coming back!

So I must say I didn't buy my food so I can't say how the prices are. As a driver for grubhub I got lucky today. The restaurant gave me the wrong order and told me to keep it when I came back to get the right one for my customer. She got the Carne asada fries. She was super happy to have them. I got lucky to try their rolled tacos(taquitos) and a shrimp burrito. They were super fire. Wonderful flavor combinations and super filling. I will gladly go back and spend cash out of my own pocket when going to this restaurant.

Finally found a real Taco Shop in Chico. The roll tacos and burritos are just like the Mexican food back home in San Diego!! Highly recommend giving this place a try!!

Very delicious. I order Carne asada fries and they were so yummy. The portion was very big! I had to take half of it home because I couldn't finish it. I can't wait to try something else on the menu for next time 😀i will be recommending this place to my friends in chico

This place was great! I loved the mexican bowl I had. The person working was there alone and was taking orders, cooking, and cleaning. I was impressed with the quality of the ingredients! Great prices, lots of options and the food was on point! I was going to go for the pozole but chose a lighter meal, next time though. It said under new management and new prices, I had never been previously but will definitely go back!

It's the only place in town to get a good california burrito. I also like getting tacos Dorado. I haven't had a bad experience there and it's my go to for a good lunch

I moved here from San Diego and finding good Mexican food in chico is very hard. This spot is the ONLY spot in the city that I have found that has good Mexican food. This food is authentic and delicious and it made me very full. Great portions and I love that they offer salsa on the side instead of putting it in the burrito directly. I highly reccomend if you're looking for authentic mexican.

Place is clean and comfortable, plenty of drinks, but there food sometimes is good and sometimes not as good. Carnitas are ok in tacos but super greasy for a burrito. Beans and rice is good. Asada was average, and they just use highly processed cheese which is ok but in a burrito with greasy carbitas is just to oily and wet. Salsas are nice and tasty. Tacos are good. Menudo is fine and pozole was great. Thanks

The food is decent but definitely not authentic Mexican. The price is on point. But I'm a little disappointed in the food. It's not bad but definitely not what I was expecting. We had a grilled chicken chimichanga and a grilled chicken super nachos. Both tasted....eh?!

Tender asada well seasoned etc. Problem is I liked it so much I went back today… under seasoned, chewy, fatty meat (seriously spit out over 5 pieces of straight chewy fat in my burrito). Inconsistency makes it a 3 star shop in my book.

It’s alright food I got a combination plate of a taco and enchilada and the enchilada was just cheese and a small tortilla cover with sauce!! Spent $59 here for a burrito and a plate and appetizer the burrito was cold and the loaded fries was the only good plate!! Great service all together

Maybe the hype, because certainly is not the amount. 4 Stars. Carnitas Taco, $4.50+ regular size. Diced tiny and mixed with poco de gallo. What's up with their tiny dicing? I asked for hot sauce got medium. 3 Stars. 2 chicken enchiladas $6.80+? Got shredded beef, sauce oily and strong, and guess what? Hot sauce all over it. Unhappy to no end, different protein and hot spicy sauce. I do not appreciate enchiladas served with hot salsa, but be lying if I said I did not eat it. 1.5 Stars. After all weather outside after 7 PM was like 105+! Hot Stuff all around! Rolled Taquitos with 3 rolled tacos w/guacamole and cheese -beef, $4.85+? To the saltier who corroded the over fried concoction, and the saltiest guacamole this side of Brownsville TX, and of course their significant serving mixed shredded cheese, which is the trademark of all aspects of this type of food, why the excessive salt, Mr. Cook? Would you serve it to your own this way, or just to the avid gringos? Would you almost char the rolled taquitos for your Sunday dinner, or any other day for that matter, and overcook it so drastically? Don't think so. Total with tip $30+. Needless to say this cocky outfit ignore food ordered and served what they pleased. 2 Stars.

The Girl taking our order was more interested in playing on her phone than taking our order, when we finally ordered they didn't have the fish tacos that were part of the special for the day my hubby wanted a beer but they dont serve beer, also there chips and salsa are extra they aren't part of the meal.

This is the second time I've come here to eat and I have not been impressed at all. All the food just seems dried out and bland. I got an enchilada and beef burrito. The enchilada sauce tasted like it was out of a can and the beef and the burrito was dried out and lacking in the flavor department. For $20 I would the bright fresh flavors associated with Mexican food. The woman working with front counter just stared at me with a blank look when I went up to order.

Loosely wrapped burrito, meat was very fatty which is weird for carne asada. Water tasted really funny not sure if there's toxins in it.
