We went here for a birthday with 7 people and I would say the food was great and the service was a little slow but very friendly. We had almost everything on the menu and the only thing that was just ok was the steak.
Eclectic restaurant and bar with great vibes, atmosphere, and delicious food. The egg rolls and sliders were yummy and came out very quick. Service was good and no complaints.
I'm huge on taking pictures of food for reviews, but I didn't this time because it was very dark in the restaurant. The food was insanely delicious. My wife and I shared everything we ordered. We enjoyed the wagyu egg-rolls, shrimp skewers, wedge salad, chicken tenders with honey mustard, and the chicken sliders. This place specializes in small plates and I would recommend ordering several items then ordering more depending on how hungry you are. I've seen reviews saying the food wasn't good, but I disagree. The food blew me away, especially the chicken, it was so flavorful and crispy crunchy. I loved the atmosphere, but I will say the decor was a little "out there" and funky. Not everyone's style for sure, but a very unique spot. Service was VERY slow, but we didn't mind, it was nice to dine and not be in and out of a restaurant in 45 minutes.
Relatively small menu, but all the food and drinks were outstanding. Kid absolutely loved the chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese. The burgers were some of the most tender and tastiest we've ever had. And best of all... this is the entry point to a legendary tiki bar.
This is a really great spot. I came solo for a drink and ended up getting dinner and staying most of the night. The cocktail menu is very fun and really well thought out. The burger is killer and the bartender (Lindy?) was super friendly. The bathroom layout is kinda funny lol but whatever - will be back
Wonderful bar and restaurant with fun decorations around the holidays too! Definitely recommend a reservation if you want to eat at a table because they can get busy. If you're looking for a really fun drink experience, consider asking at the front desk if there's room inside False Idol, the hidden tiki bar begins the front desk!
These people got me fashionably drunk. I sipped a thing with bee pollen on it ("cross to bear" mezcal, orange, local honey; it was insane 😤). Next up was with the most nonchalant, frankly devilish up-drink I've encountered in a while:"half truths," a gin martini riff with cedar and sage notes. I wanna know how you got those notes in and kept the cocktail crystal clear. Voodoo from the super secret tiki bar? Did not get to try the food (yet!), but the kitchen looked spotless, the cooks happy, and the plates I saw going out looked and smelled awesome. Liminal space-ass bathroom, but I found that enhanced my experience.
As you all know, I like a great old fashion. Craft & Commerce did not disappoint. The old-fashioned was on the point. Would recommend ten out of ten. The Vegan Potato skins -Perfectly cooked, I enjoy the potato in the skin as much as the skin. The vegan bacon bits, and sour cream were so close to the real thing that you couldn't tell the difference. Chopped salad - Prefect bite. Flavor in every bite. First of cherry tomato, then the crouton and Gorgozola. It was the perfect combination of flavors. While the dressing is bountiful, it's not overwhelming. Chicken legs - The chicken legs are cooked wonderfully. The breading is crisp, yet tender, and the flavor explodes in your mouth. The chicken legs come with so many toppings. The combinations are almost endless. Spicy teriyaki sauce, Barbecue sauce, roe, pickled mushrooms, creme fresh, slaw, and more. If you are in San Diego, make a reservation and stop in. It is well worth your time and money. Your taste buds will thank you.
Absolutely spectacular bar and restaurant. Very inventive, complex and delicious cocktails. The food was fantastic too. We came back for happy hour and it was an pretty incredible value. Me and my buds came back 3 times after our initial visit while we were in San Diego. Wish I had somewhere like this back home!
This place was pretty killer. Very knowledgeable bartender who was also able to make custom drinks based on what we like. Decor was great. Prices were expensive, but reasonable for the service. Very interesting menu and great deals. I would 100% come back often if I was local. Will save this to my list for future visits! 4.5/5

Really cool, fun spot. Tables were fire tables. Food simple but delicious. Outstanding service. Wanted to go in the Speakeasy but the line was too long.

First time here and Lindy made it an amazing experience. Just because of her I will be returning. 10/10 would recommend to tourists or locals !
Drinks were great! Highly recommend trying the corn bread, shishto peppers and wagyu egg rolls. Service was okay, cute environment for a girls night

I had a great experience at Craft & Commence. All the appetizers we tried were excellent — thoughtfully prepared, full of flavor, and perfect for sharing. You can tell there’s real intention behind the menu. The drinks were just as impressive. Well-crafted, balanced, and creative without being overcomplicated. Definitely a spot where you go to enjoy a proper cocktail. The atmosphere was honestly the highlight for me — stylish, energetic, but still comfortable enough to relax and enjoy the evening. Service was friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. And if you go — check out their speakeasy. It’s absolutely worth it.
I came in here to get a small bite and a drink The decore of the place is super cute and the presentation of the food is appealing. I went with the non alcoholic More Passion more Energy adaptogenic mock tail and the two chicken sliders. The service was friendly but I knocked off a star because the server forgot to give me a plate and napkin and was a bit hard to track down. I knocked off one star for food because my sliders had a long rubbery tendon on both sliders that made it gross to eat, the honey mustard sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste.Otherwise the chicken tenders were perfectly battered and crispy. The mock tail was very satisfying and delicious! I would come back here again and try the skewers and Mac and cheese both looked and smelled great! They also have a sweet Tiki bar False Idol which I recommend checking out.
I visited this restaurant in downtown San Diego and had such a memorable experience that I want to share it here. The first thing that stood out to me was the interior design. The decoration is unlike anywhere else I’ve been—very stylish, a little eclectic, and filled with animal taxidermy pieces that make the whole space feel like a mix between a trendy lounge and a quirky museum. It’s definitely a place where you notice something new each time you look around, and the overall vibe makes it fun and different from the typical downtown spot. The menu also had some surprises. I tried something called “Born Mellow,” which was not only unique but also a pleasant surprise in terms of flavor. Their French fries were simple but really well done—crispy on the outside and soft inside, the kind you keep snacking on without even realizing. The real standout for me, though, was the chicken nugget slider. The bun was incredibly soft, the chicken was flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the combination of textures and flavors came together beautifully. Overall, this place is worth visiting not just for the food, but also for the unique atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!
Super cool bar, cocktails were nice, good beer selection, prices fair for this part of town. Interior was fun, vibe was amazing. Food was hit or miss: the chicken tenders were really amazing. The shishitos were drenched in so much sauce that it was a soggy unappetizing bowl, definitely skip, and definitely not a good bar food.
Service was very slow but kind. Cocktail menu is really awesome and creative tiki style drinks. Loved the design and vibe and inspiration. It genuinely seemed unique. Only food we had was the burger and it was obvious the quality of meat was good but it was wildly bland and for $16 for the burger only it needs to be banging. Would come back for the cocktails but eat before you come.
Excellent service food and ambiance! They have an impressive happy hour selection! Very close to the gaslamp quarter

Plates are probably best for sharing as they aren’t really a meal. drinks are very good. I wish I had known about False Idol a hidden tiki speakeasy before I had ordered drinks.
Tartare seating on a bread slice? ? rib full of fat? Chucked wings covered with sauce??Portions super small and definitely over priced. Nice the place but it doesn’t worth the money. Never again

My husband and I stopped in for a quick drink and a light snack and were seated quickly at a high-top table. The menu was very simple with limited options. Since we weren’t very hungry, we ordered the onion rings, which unfortunately were not good. The corndog-style breading was an odd choice, and the batter could use improvement. The waitress was friendly and thoughtful and even brought a candle to our table to improve the ambiance, which we appreciated. Our drinks were just okay—nothing memorable. Overall, we probably wouldn’t return unless invited for a special occasion. I’d recommend checking it out if you’ve been curious, but unless you enjoy overpriced drinks, small bites, and odd décor, it may not be for you.
This restaurant has a great atmosphere and a lot of stuff to look at for entertainment. Plenty of tables and two bar areas. Unfortunately, the one knock on the atmosphere was dead animals on the walls as that is a little out of fashion these days. Our party, some with food restrictions, felt the food menu choices were a little limiting. The menu items were definitely unique and a nice change. Good for sharing. The biggest hit for us was the fast-iron cornbread. The fresh white bean is good sized. Overall, it was a mix of some dishes being good and others being so so. Again, the cornbread was really good. The bar also brought the score down for us. While we ordered some classic drink we did not even get a choice of alcohol. They just poured well gin , vodka, and whiskey. It was odd. The presentation was nice though. Lastly, the service started out great when we first got there and went downhill right after they served us drinks. After the food came we could not get anyone’s attention to even get another round of drinks. This restaurant has atmosphere, uniqueness, and location. The overall food, drinks and service lowered the score and experience to make this a restaurant we may browse into for a quick drink and appetizer if we happen to be in the exact vicinity before an event. Not a place to frequently stop and enjoy.
Craft & Commerce is a charming restaurant with a unique ambiance that caught my eye. My only concern was that my table was placed near the sidewalk, which occasionally exposed me to an outdoor odor. However, I appreciated that the restaurant had indoor fragrances to help mask it. The food had a lovely presentation, but, personally, I found some dishes to be subtly flavored with a hint of sourness or vinegar notes, which didn't quite align with my taste preferences. On a positive note, the service was pleasant, and the server was quite accommodating. Overall, I'd rate my experience at Craft & Commerce as a 3 out of 5. While the atmosphere and service were enjoyable, the food didn't quite hit the mark for me, and I wasn't able to finish my meal. I might consider giving it another try in the future.

I didn't dine here, their menu was disappointing. I was looking for dinner and drinks. We ended up leaving.
Not very inspiring. The hostess was missing in action for a good 5 minutes despite it not being busy. Our server was nice enough but failed to mention that the skewer would burn my hand if I touched it. Not like a little hot, the metal burned my fingers. Not safe and a huge liability. The food itself was as described but did not feel very inspired. I love tapas, and the prices were fair enough but the meals themselves were just, meh. The chef was doing a great job not blaming them, more blaming the menu and ingredient choices. Oh also all their beer taps were out? Odd, since they have like 20? The ambiance is the only saving grace here. I would not recommend it. False Idol behind it is fantastic however! Just pick somewhere else for post or pre dinner if you go there.
Our recent experience at the restaurant was quite disappointing. Three years ago, we enjoyed one of the best burgers we'd ever had, but yesterday was a different story. The hamburger I ordered ha…

Industry veteran and Little Italy resident here. Craft & Commerce completely failed the basics of service last night. Management was cold from the start, leaving 8+ tables vacant while insisting there was "no room." After being barked at to "get up immediately" from an empty seat, a staff member threatened to kick me out for "staring" while I simply waited for a drink at bar. Their own building plaque asks visitors to be a decent human being. It’s a shame the leadership on the floor doesn't hold themselves to that same standard. Beautiful space, but a total leadership failure. Avoid.
I don’t quite understand the hype with this place. We ordered the shishito peppers, fries, waygu egg rolls, and chicken tenders. The chicken tenders were actually pretty good, but hard to mess up chicken tenders. All of the sauces were off and the ranch was watery. We asked for ketchup and they don’t serve that at all?! The waygu egg rolls were literally just that, nothing but ground beef inside. Both egg rolls and fries were oily and lacking flavor other than being overly salty and drenched in oil. All of the portion sizes (except the peppers) were VERY small. The peppers were soggy and unappetizing and there were quite a lot of them, which was an odd contrast with the teeny tiny proportions of everything else on the table. Even my cocktail was tiny and my partner’s mocktail was in a larger glass but filled with 90% ice. The table next to us ordered the waygu skewers and I’m glad we didn’t because the portions were minuscule and we couldn’t believe what they were charging for so little meat. On top of all that the lighting is sooo dim that it’s impossible to read the menu without using your phone light and difficult to even see what you’re eating. The bathroom is also located through a door OUTSIDE the restaurant and required two passcodes to get into. We were seated on the other end of the restaurant from the entrance so to get to the bathroom we had to walk through all the crowded tables and bar, squeeze past the hostess stand and line for False Idol, and enter through a dimly lit door on the street (I had to again use my phone light to see the numbers on the lock) down a long and very dirty hallway with bad florescent lighting and then enter a different code to get into the bathroom, which was also super dingy and looked like it had not been attended to at all that day. Kind of ruined whatever ambiance they were trying to go for inside (unclear yet vaguely pretentious) and also made me think that if the lights were actually on inside we wouldn’t be happy with what we could see.
