We were going to see an exhibition at the museum and stumbled upon this place inside where they serve delicious coffee and pastries. You can enjoy a lovely view of the garden. I would have loved to try the salads and pasta they were preparing, but we didn't have time! We'll be back.

I love this place. I recently invited a teacher friend of mine, and she was blown away. The food is always delicious, and the green juice is a delight for the palate. The desserts are also delicious, and the palate exudes ambrosia if you know how to choose them. 😋 I also like the atmosphere, and you can marvel at the panoramic view of the fountain ⛲ 😀 . I will definitely return many more times. 👌

I loved it! The service is good, the place is very nice and the food 10/10. Very nice for a date. I hope to return soon, do not miss the opportunity to stop by after your visit to the museum.

Very peaceful place with a lovely view of a garden 😊✨ The menu is short but delicious. Perfect for a coffee or brunch after visiting the museum.

Excellent place, very quiet. The breakfast was delicious, the molletes and croissant, I highly recommend them. Only the orange juice tasted very plain, as if it had water in it. But everything was excellent.

A café in a quiet location, in a former hospital. We sat around the garden and its fountain! 👌 The birds were chirping... Green juice and Oaxaca empanadas 👌 135 dollars Smiling and friendly waitresses 👍

The cafeteria is inside the museum, they serve excellent drinks and food at very affordable prices. Ideal for having a coffee or a glass of red wine after visiting the museum, all in front of the fountain and the garden that make the place very quiet (except on weekends). The viceregal decoration and architecture make you feel in the past. Highly recommended for any occasion.

I would love it if you could tell us before paying that the Frapes are not made with natural fruit. It's just an observation, since when I bought them and started to consume them, my stomach started to hurt. I didn't know. I hope to consume something else when I return. Thank you.

It's a great option within the museum, but you should take your time because they don't prepare your order very quickly. However, the food is delicious and the space is very pleasant, especially the tables near the central courtyard.

The three-cheese baguette and the molletes are super delicious, I highly recommend it. However, their toppings bar needs to be constantly refilled with pico de gallo because I had the misfortune of not having enough for my molletes (although it was very tasty) :c As for the drinks: The cappuccino is good, and the lemonade comes plain, served in a plastic cup, a bit skimpy but tasty. The staff is attentive and friendly. It's truly a cafe that will get you out of a jam if you haven't had breakfast or want to spend a little time enjoying something. It smells delicious. The service from the staff only consists of charging you and serving your food; there are no waiters. The prices seem reasonable for what they serve.

The Franz Mayer Museum's café is, without a doubt, a special spot in the heart of Mexico City. This space stands out for its calm and peaceful atmosphere, ideal for those looking to relax and enjoy a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Surrounded by the museum's historic architecture and charming courtyard, the atmosphere feels cozy and pleasant—perfect. The coffee served is excellent, with intense, well-chosen flavors, making each cup a rewarding experience. The menu also offers traditional Mexican gourmet food options, respecting local flavors with a touch of sophistication. The empanadas are especially noteworthy: there are savory options that combine fresh, authentic ingredients, as well as sweet varieties that create a delicious ending to any meal or a tempting treat. The combination of high-quality food, a charming setting, and a peaceful atmosphere makes this café a perfect place for those looking to indulge. I highly recommend it.

The cafe is located within the Franz Mayer Museum, and just seeing the gardens is an invitation to sit down, enjoy, and have a coffee. We visited the World Press Photo exhibition and didn't pass up the opportunity to grab a bite to eat. We ordered some molletes, and what a great surprise! They weren't made with the traditional bolillo, but rather with a slightly flaky bread. Honestly, what a great surprise! They were delicious, some of the best I've ever had. I also ordered a coffee, and I thought it was bad; it barely tasted like coffee and the flavor wasn't good. My suggestion is to order something other than coffee, or you'll be disappointed, especially if you're a coffee lover. Overall, eating something at the cafe is a great idea. They have salads, pasta, empanadas, baguettes, and a wide variety of hot drinks. The best thing about eating there, without a doubt, is enjoying the gardens and architecture of the museum. I think the prices are reasonable; the molletes and coffee were $115. The pastries are terrible, the service slow, and the coffee mediocre. But the location is spectacular and unbeatable. Find it under the cloisters inside the Museum, with a bubbling fountain, trees and birds, quiet and solemn place. The perfect secret spot to escape from the city center's noise, pollution and crowds.

The place is very pretty; you're on the patio with a view of the museum's fountain. I wasn't expecting great food, given that it's a cafe, but the empanadas are terrible. Typical food that's been refrigerated for days, tasteless, and very poor quality. As for drinks, it's pretty OK.

The café has a very relaxing atmosphere with a garden view and several places to sit. I arrived on a Tuesday (the day museum admission is free) at midday and they didn't have any cookies or baked goods. I ordered a hot chocolate that tasted like stale chocolate from a packet; I definitely don't recommend it. They don't have plant-based milks, but you can choose between lactose-free and whole milk. I'd say the prices are reasonable, but not cheap.

The good: the location, which is part of the museum. The bad: the drinks. In my case, I ordered a mocha coffee, and it was bland; it tasted like plain milk with a spoonful of cheap chocolate. And they take a long time to deliver your order.

The place is amazing, it's located inside the Franz Mayer Museum, but other than that, that's about it. The service is slow. We only ordered drinks and we've been waiting for over 40 minutes for coffee and chai tea. It's incredible how long they take.

DO NOT EAT THERE!!! Yesterday, December 26, 2026, I ate a croissant and it was contaminated. This resulted in gastroenteritis, and obviously the cafe and the employees are not going to cover the doctor's bill and medication costs. Save yourself a bad experience like the one I'm going through. The place is very nice, but the contaminated food is the worst. Don't go!
