Avis sur Fat Vegan Ciudad De México
Tasting menu was simple dishes made extremely well. Great selection of dishes with a well balanced portion size. Wine pairings was the best part of the experience - the wines themselves were relatively straightforward, but the complemented the dishes absolutely flawlessly.
Absolutely amazing restaurant, serving authentic Mexican dishes from small villages in Puebla and elsewhere with a author chef twist. Some have the signature of a "campesino" from these villages and most are refined by the Chef Diana Lopez, on of the best in the world. Eating here is a priviledge, it is like a trip through space and time and across the mexican gastronomic anthropology. The drinks are also unique, artisanal or ancestral, from villages across the country. This restaurant worth two Michelin stars, but in fact it is even better, since it's approaching is sustainability, working with small farms and natural reserves. Totally recommended.
We made a reservation on Sunday night, it was a bit quiet but still a great night to sit outside. We ordered the Chicken mole and the pork stew. Both excellent, specifically the chicken mole with chocolate was outstanding. Cocktails were adjusted to our taste, so all in all a great experience.
My favourite meal so far in Mexico City (after 5 days of being here and a lot of food). We ordered the spicy old fashioned and the cacao negroni for our drinks - both were perfectly balanced and delicious I LOVED the cacao negroni. For mains we ordered chilotole de cuyoaco and the mole de Barbacoa. My partner had been sick the last couple days and we had wanted to find something comforting for him - the chilotole was everything he didn’t know he needed. The barbacoa was spoon tender and the mole incredibly complex and delicious. Our server was wonderful in meeting us halfway with English and Spanish and was happy to offer suggestions and check in with us on how to get enjoyed everything I want to come back and try everything else!
I was recommended here by my friend and it did not disappoint. The most amazing food! I love the philosophy behind being a woman led restaurant. I had one of the best meals here. The flavors were so well balanced and local ingredients makes it so fresh. We all loved our dishes and the desserts are very unique. They are also accommodating to allergies but do note there are nuts in a lot of desserts and dishes. But I had no problem and I am anaphylactic.
I came here with my husband...Colombian and Australian. The people the food the architecture the unique flavours of cocktails to local traditions and home cooking packs a lunch. Beautiful sculptures, colours and mesoAmerica tradition in a contemporary fashion mark everything from plates to furniture design. It's tranquil and generous and calm. We've been here twice and if we were to write a book of restaurants to visit and feel at home...this would be high on our list.
It is our last night in CDMX traveling with my mom and husband. We had only eaten street food the whole trip and wanted a proper sit down dinner for our last meal. Searched for restaurants around our room that had mole and Mux came up. Peaked at the menu and committed. We chose to sit outside on the corner to mix in some people watching. We all opted for the 5 course pairing menu that paired each course with a wine, cocktail or spirit. From start to finish we loved every course. Beautifully presented, an array of flavors and the pairings were well matched. Our favorite courses: Tuna tostada & Black Mole Service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Highly recommend Mux!
When was the last time you were at a restaurant where the menu included acknowledgements of those who shared their expertise with the chef? At Muz you'll find innovative flavor combos that seem simple and delicious, but that evidence great understanding of flavor, nutrition, and tradition. As good as nearby Rosetta at a fraction of the price.
I want to first thank our waiter. He was personable, funny and knew every detail about the dish. I wish I had asked his name so I could give him credit here. He had glasses and was young. He was awesome. Our starters weener absolutely delicious, we had an empanada and then something g that involved tortillas and meat on top of them. For our mains we had the black mole and my girlfriend had another dish which I’m not sure of the name. The chips before the meal were accompanied by two delicious salsas and we were both very happy with our drinks. The vibe of the place is cool and on a warmer day it’d be great to sit outside. We would definitely come back. Thank you!
I will give this place 5 stars for delicious food, drinks, quick and attentive service and nice vibes. We didn’t feel like it was a tourist trap neither had bad experience other people were mentioning in the comments below. Food was exceptional, my beef stake taco was so flavorful that I decided to order one more 🤤 green mole with chicken was also very unique. Overall we had a very good experience and would come back for one more dinner!
Amazing and unique little restaurant. The chef undertakes an in-depth study of a region and presents the preparation along with the history and origins of the recipe. The menu reads like a story book so prepare to practice your Spanish (although the servers are always willing to explain everything if you need it)! They also have a five course tasting menu if you want to experience the full breadth of what they offer. We're started off with a couple of salads, which were exceptional and featured unusual produce that the restaurant sources from traditional farmers. Many of these items are in danger of not being cultivated because of low profitability or lack of demand. The main courses featured complex moles and perfectly cooked meats. Great experience overall!!
The food is SO delicious! It is one of those restaurants that you will come back to multiple times. If I could give more stars, I would!

tl;dr: 1st experience: incredible dishes (almost no misses), wonderful, above-and-beyond service, poor pacing 2nd experience: mostly static menu, the changes that were made to dishes we previously liked were neutral at best or negative at worst, off-balanced service/missed opportunities, still poor pacing UPDATE: 2nd visit: we initially came here to celebrate the engagement of our two friends, so after my partner and I got engaged and had her parents in town to visit/celebrate, we thought this would be the perfect place! When we initially arrived for our reservation, the power was out. The server let us know we could sit and order drinks but was unsure when it'd be possible to order food. Not a problem at all as the drinks were a huge reason we wanted to return. After the stellar service we'd had our first visit, I was a little surprised that our server didn't offer us anything to make up for the inconvenience of the power being out and being unable to order food. Honestly, not a big deal. The power came on shortly thereafter and we had a good idea of what we wanted to order as we wanted to mostly reorder favorites from our first visit. While the chilacayote asado and portobello marinado were both tasty and how we remembered, the tartar de habas was odd. The first time the fish had been the star of the show. This time it was muted and the dish was sweet. Like the first time, there were pacing issues. We ordered three entradas and one "main" and all four dishes came out all at once. This was odd the first time, and I should have remembered to stagger my order to avoid it this time. While most of the food and drinks were good this second visit, the meal felt very flat compared to our first visit. There was no mention of our engagement celebration and no pleasant surprises like our first visit. We still really enjoy Mux and plan to return once the menu changes again, but it was just a letdown compared to the absolute 11/10 experience we had back in January. -- CDMX Eats 2024 #5: 1st visit: we initially ate here as a party of six for an engagement dinner/celebration on a Saturday in January (2024). While most of us had heard about Mux and been excited to dine here, none of us really knew what to expect. Our waitress, Leslie, did a great job of familiarizing us with the menu. We started off with a round of (delicious!) cocktails, and everyone really enjoyed their drinks. The cocktails my partner and I initially ordered ended up being unavailable, so Leslie kindly offered us each a free shot of mezcal to make up for it. Totally unexpected and the kind of above-and-beyond service you can only hope for. We ordered 3 apps/entradas and 4 mains. Our group heavily preferred the apps (chilacayota asada, (tuna) tartar de habas, ensalada portobello quesillo salad*) to mains (would pass on their moles, enchiladas, and chicken mezcal dish; though the pozole was a standout!)--what's new? Midway through our meal, Leslie had asked if we were the party celebrating an engagement. When we said we were, she asked if we'd like a round of complimentary mezcal or a complimentary dessert. After some deliberation, we decided on dessert. Leslie ended up bringing _both_ a round of mezcal _and_ (delicious!!!) dessert. The food and experience was so good that we knew we'd return!
Most unfortunately we were not satisfied with anything we ordered. We were really excited to try Mux and tried coming here twice. The first time we couldn’t be seated so we left, then when we came back another day we could only order from the breakfast page of the menu (but it was already 12pm!!). I ordered a dish that was called something like Mux eggs or Mux special, it was sooo boring (with canned peas and ham) and the presentation was so ugly (pictured). My partner ordered chilaquiles which were good enough. Then the kitchen was very kind to allow us to order one starter from their lunch menu, the tuna tartar or something of the sort, but it was also not good. It was very egg-y or mayo-y or idk, but there was barely any tuna in it. Anyway, huge let down. Very unfortunate. *our waiter was really nice, I have to give him credit at least
