We love the new clinton Tonys! We have not liked the old Tony's or other local Tony's. The sauce used to be slapped on, not enough cheese and too doughy. The new pizza is more cheesy, balanced sauce and better crust. So happy it changed for the better being clinton residents!!

F

I ordered two calzones from Tony's and they are always awesome there. The filling is balanced, the crust is flavorful, and the sauce is great. I will continue to be a faithful customer.

Have mostly had the subs from Tony's and they are our preferred place to get them. Unlike most places they add lots of meat, the rolls are fresh and the staff are always friendly. They do unfortunately charge a fee for using a credit card (not sure about debit cards). But, since we know about the fee, we pay cash.

Got the best sub tonight from Tony’s. The girl that made my sub was very pleasant. Highly recommend! If you’re ever in town stop at Tony’s.

(8/9/23) Above & beyond! The new management & face-lift to keep tonys well & alive was much needed! Delicious, keeping the Clinton tradition with an affordable & tasty pizza! 🍕 *side note, same establishment as the New Hartford one, but a few prices are higher (wings etc.)... I'm sure they will eventually even out and match, is typical with branching out to make some extra bucks while it's "new" and with the assumption on Clinton's financial state. (despite most of us being lower middle class lol)

I ordered an 8” grilled chicken and greens with Parmesan and was full after half of it. It was delicious. Best sub I’ve had from anywhere in a very long time. It’ll be my go to sub now. $8 is a very reasonable price for what I got compared to other places in the area that are usually more and not as good.

Exceptional service. Both employees went far above and beyond to serve the customer. Got to the place a few minutes after closing after driving from Philly, and they allowed me to get an Italian hoagie - I was educated, it's called a sub, lol. Excellent meat and cheese, roll was decent. I was starving, and they were true Rockstars, kudos to them for helping out a hungry dude. If the owner checks this, it was Wednesday 8/7, and they closed that night. I wish I had their names. Those two are amazing. Hats off to you for hiring quality employees and serving great food.

I’m at Devon. The new owner of Tony’s pizzeria. He was very nice very cordial. I was taking a breakfast pizza over to our church for meeting that we were having. I asked if he could open a little bit earlier to be able to get that pizza. He said no problem. He was very kind. I got some cookies some brownies and that breakfast pizza. Everything was absolutely delicious. I will be going there again thank you Devon 👍❤️ I haven’t been in there to eat in there, but the place is clean. Devon is a special person

Unbelievably good subs. Ordered three subs for my family and I and we all absolutely loved them. We ordered pizza for the kids and that was great as well. The large sub was so big I only finished half. Typically I can finish a giant from Jersey mikes with no problem. The women that answered the phone was courteous and answered all my questions. I doubt I will order a sub from anywhere else as long as we are in the area. Highly recommend Tony’s.

A decent alternative to my usual pizza place. Their hours are great as they usually stay open really late at night. The wings are good and so are their sandwiches and other meals like their chicken riggies. The people are really nice.

I stopped by for a quick lunch on a busy day doing errands. I had 2 slices and a fountain drink. The crust was just right and the veggies on top were done to perfection. Two slices were just right for a late lunch or early dinner.

haven't been here since the renovation because they got 2 beautiful glass doors in the front but they're blocked off by 2 huge fridges or something. I Don't even know how to get inside the building any more and at this point I'm afraid to ask. Used to have Great subs.

Wonderful atmosphere and great (a bit greasy) pizza. Prepared salads and a selection of dessert offerings. Family run business that is an anchor of the local community and a favorite with the college crowd.

Food is good and prices are reasonable for a mom and pop pizza joint. We're not talking world class pizza, just a mom and pop shop with good food that's quality. We got 4 fresh slices and 1 fountain soda for $13.75, which is very reasonable. Good stop!

I have ordered their calzones for a long time. It seems to me, in the last few months, they have reduced the amount of cheese they put in them, and the calories have been consistently inconsistent- in terms of being cooked through all the way. I love the size, the taste... but I don't like when the inside is soggy from not being cooked all the way through. Hope they straighten out these 2 issues.

Food tasted good waited 20 min with a few other ppl was asked if I want it warmed up and I thought that's what I was waiting for which was not the case

The pizza was undercooked, but the subs were great! Go for a sandwich and ask for the pizza "well done."

We got pizza slices and a sub to go. Sub was good and was a good size. Pizza slices were big, but just ok. It was fine, but in my opinion pretty average. I would skip the pizza and try an entree next time.

Ordered online and paid. When picking they made that person pay again because they didn't keep track it was paid for. They fixed it after we brought it to their attention, but still... The food is pretty good...just bugs to work out I hope!

We ordered 2 subs and a slice. The slice was good but small. The subs were good also. The girl at counter needs to practice listening. Had to repeat myself multiple times to get order correct.

I used to love here because there slice pizza was super crispy and good, but now that i tried it again is very tick and saggy! I guess they changed their chef or something! The slice was not hot either, warm toward cold! Hopefully there old style comes back so I can come back again for there crispy new york style pizzas!! The are super nice staff and very friendly.

NY style Pizza kind of thick for the style 🍕 They have slice pizza , We try last year this pizza ans it was very good and crispy but I think they change the chef because its not as good as before🍕 wings are good and crispy. They have prep pastas to go ,never try them but they look good . Service is good they are nice ppl .

I mean, I've been told "were are you raised in a barn, clse the door". I've never been accepted as the cow that I am to such a satisfactory degree. Unfortunately I found no Tony, just manager named Barbara. Minus 1 Star for hypocrasy. All in all if your a greesy cow looking for a welcoming environment to be chastized and ridiculed, then two stars, would moo again

Everything was hard and sat in the case and when I asked for new ones they were just as hard as the ones that have been sitting like they just warmed them up again

Not the best slices. 2 slices, drink from the cooler and 2 hot sauces $10. Won't be going back willingly.

F

Food is sub-average and very expensive. Nothing like dropping $40 on a pizza and 1 order of wings.

Small parmesan chicken sub was $10 and took fifteen minutes to make because apparently they had to "toast the bread." Toasting bread should not take that long. Rude staff as well. Would not recommend. Just go to Giovanni's, they are amazing.

J
Jesse Stankiewicz

Personally a big fan of their (dinner) pizza. They have a pretty good atmosphere for dining in. Just a couple things bother me. I get quoted $16 and change for a pizza and show up with a half off coupon and it comes to 10 or 11 dollars. Depending. It's different every time. Can't at all recommend their breakfast pizza though. Cuz they consider eggs a topping and they put American cheese on it as well (ick!). Plus I called this morning to ask about it and the guy that answered said "sorry you didn't like our pizza" and hung up on me. EDIT: 2 topping pizzas are 24 dollars now. Got charged 13 dollars when I went in. Didn't have cash when I tried to use a smart shopper coupon and this time the person copped an attitude with me about it. Been coming here for about 16 years off and on. But I'm pretty much done with this place. Too bad

J
Jake Lutke

Not my preference in terms of the style of pizza, it's a bit too doughy for me. The consistency of the dough is bread-like. The price is slightly high; it cost me ~$40 for two large pizzas, one plain cheese and one with 2 toppings.

j
janice Atkinson

Ordered 2 fish fries. Not Only were they cold buy the lemon slice on top of my fish was spoiled it ruined the taste. No more fish fries there!!

R
Renee Fancett

Looked at their website to look at the menu and see what specials they had. Ordered the large cheese pizza and 20 wings. On the website it said $25.50 but they charged us $34 even after we showed them the website price. And the wings that we ordered extra crispy were not crispy at all.

This is my first time at a Tony's Pizza place. The inside was recently refinished and is under new management. I bought a 16" Chicken bacon ranch pizza. Flavor was OK, both the chicken and the bacon were cut into large chunks (that required being cut in half), so there was no meat in the majority of our bites (typically the chicken is cubed in smaller chunks and bacon is pre-cooked to eliminate the excess grease and it is then crumbled across the whole pizza ensuring toppings in every bite). The crust was mushy (even when reheated in an air fryer). The box was totally soaked in grease. Probably from cooking the bacon on the pizza, instead of it being pre-cooked and the grease drained. Then to top it off, the ROUND pizza was cut in SQUARES! Typical cut of a round pizza is pie shape, unless otherwise stated. I didn't know they expect everyone to eat their pizza's with a fork and knife. Taking all things into consideration, needless to say, it was our first and last time eating at Tony's! I tried to add a photo of the pizza and box but I kept receiving an error.

This review is for the new owner ship. The prices are off the charts. Food quality isn’t there. Large pepperoni pizza 30 wings. 64 bucks. Unreal !! Never again.

Ben Getter

Sadly the food is very inconsistent under new management/owner. Ordered chicken wings the other night they were literally floating in the wing sauce, chicken wing soup! Subs are also very hit or miss. One time there’s literally no mayo and then next time, Mayo everywhere. Also meat portions seem off, ham sub 1 or 2 thin slices? Idk I’m hoping new owners are still working out kinks, but feel if they’re not worked out quick, Clintons going to be loosing a staple pizza place. I will probably be visiting the Tony’s in New Hartford, have yet to have a bad meal from them. Clinton location, just very disappointing lately and I’ve ordered a few times, not just a one time experience.

Sharon Rumley
Sharon Rumley

This was a take out. We heard it was under new ownership so wanted to try it out. We were so disappointed. First why do you cut a round 16"pizza into squares? We had two pizzas cut this way just ruins the experience because there are small pieces of just crust. However the pizza was not fully cooked so the pieces in the center were barely brown on the bottom and impossible to pick up to eat because they were soggy. Overall both pizzas were under cooked. The pepperoni pizza has about 15 pieces and they were not spread evenly but clumped and with the square cut there were pieces that had no pepperoni on them. So after the disappointment of the pizza, the wings were also disappointing. They are expensive at $1.40 per wing. For that price I expected meaty wings and they were not. They did not include Blue cheese or celery. The service at pick up was fine. However, need on this experience I would not order from them again.

Tony's under new management review ***Same name. New management.*** This Tony's is now owned by the New Hartford Tony's so you can expect the similar from their menu. Food was mid, was a sidestep in many ways, no longer do they offer boars head meats for the subs. Pizza was as usual for Tony's, decently greasy which is normal from them. The chicken Parm was pretty sad looking, wouldn't recommend that. The interior looks much nicer than before, slightly cramped at the entrance but menus are laid out on screens and it looked like new appliances all around. The interior was definitely their biggest upgrade and it shows. The overall experience was okay, I think you'll find better food at the other pizza locations in Clinton.

Had an interesting experience here. Only people there. $50 + gave a healthy tip for pizza and wings. First worker came over and spilled half of a red Gatorade all over me. No problem. Food was good and had a lot left over in 2 boxes supplied by worker. Went to the restroom to change my son. The worker saw my drink and mentioned he saved it for me as he saw I went in the bathroom. Wasn’t sure if I still wanted it. I thought great thanks. Went to get my two boxes and they were gone. The same worker first said he didn’t see them. Then proceeded to tell me he threw them both out. Wasteful and annoying, but I suppose it was a mistake. Would have been nice to get something of value in return.

I don't normally leave bad reviews, if it's not good, I usually just move along. My experience tonight forces me to provide feedback. 2 small hot subs for dine-in. They cost around $10 each...for small subs. OK, I am willing to pay a little more for quality, let's see how this works out. The 2 subs were brought out about 10 minutes apart. Not a great start. 1st sub was 'steak' with peppers and onions - but their idea of steak is deli roast beef heated on the flattop. You know how long it takes for deli roast beef to get dried out and overcooked on a flat top? About 3 minutes less than they cooked this thing, it looked like beef jerky. Onions were raw. Now granted, we didn't ask for sauteed onions, but when you order steak w/ peppers and onions, I think this is kind of standard, and the person taking the order could have asked. We asked for ketchup to make the sub a bit more bearable, and they wanted $1 for a cup of ketchup. They charge for ketchup. I have never in my life seen any place charge for ketchup. Second sub was eggplant parm, ezpz, right? Came out 10 minutes after the first sub, so broseph was basically done eating by the time I got my sub. Eggplant was massively undercooked, mushy and oily. Asked for a cup of marinara to add to the sauce they put on the sub, and guess what? They charge for that too. This is when I started to fuss. I told the person who took the order and cooked the food that we were not thrilled, that the subs were subpar (I think I used slightly more colorful language at the time), and dude just shrugged, complete WGAS attitude. Tables were sticky and dirty. Could smell the bathroom from the dining area. Like I said, I normally only leave good reviews, I'm not out to hurt anyone's business, but seriously - this place needs to go, or at least be avoided in the meantime while it continues to circle the drain. If subpar food at inflated prices in a dump of a restaurant is your thing, then by all means, this is your place. In looking through recent reviews, it seems as if everyone is singing the same song. I honestly hope to hear from someone in Management / ownership as a result of this review, but I'm not holding my breath, a place this bad probably does not have anyone at the helm who cares.

hagodls ljkghafgkfj

Terrible experience. Terrible staff. Walked in and were deciding what to order, and the rude guy at the counter said “it’s customers only.” He made our decision real easy—we left. On the rare occasion that I’ve been desperate enough to eat at this sad excuse for a restaurant, I’ve been extremely disappointed with the “food.” The pizza tastes like melted plastic and looks like a soggy cardboard box. They must exclusively stay in business thanks to the 5 drunk college students that stumble in on a sad Saturday night. There is no merit to their business and no reason you should ever choose to eat here. If you want food, go anywhere else.

V
Vince Coppa

Food and service ranges from 1 to 2 stars based on the whippersnappers they have working that day. Prices are fairly outrageous (I have to imagine the profit margin on their pizza is over 500%). There are certainly better options near by

T

Worst pizza I've ever had Rather eat a dead uncooked fish 🐟 that's been out for a week . Really soggy and cold dough was wet pizza like it was out of the fridge . All the guys threw away the second slice couldn't even finish it

N
Neal Scheuermann

Probably the worst pizza and service I’ve ever received. The older woman who took my order was rude and served us mediocre wings with no blue cheese. The pizza fell apart as soon as you picked up a slice. Save your money, this place is a disaster.

P
Pamela Hardy

Have to give it one star to rate otherwise would give a zero. Spent $85 for flavourless wings dried up garlic bread with no butter or garlic a chicken salad with cold dried up chicken chicken riggies that tasted like spaghettios with chicken chunks and jalapeño poppers that taste like straight cream cheese. Called back and they say oh just pack up the food and bring it back I will talk to my owner about it. No I drove a half HR away because of a recommendation. Now here is my recommendation..just go to McDonald's atleast they use some seasoning. Didn't even try to rectify the issue simply hung up when told it was a half HR drive.

R
Richard Briggs

Called for a tray of Green's and was quoted a price. Upon picking them up they were incorrect and was charged more. Any other place I go they honor what they quote. Also, used a coupon for a large 2 item pizza and told them double cheese and pepperoni. They forgot he double cheese and said, "We cannot honor the coupon because we didn't get 2 items. This would actually save them money. Bad business ethics and the people are usually rude even when they are wrong. I notice that most of the reviews that are positive say Google User. I know this is usually done by the people that work or own the place to try to get good reviews especially when that don't state who they are.

L

Called to order food for take out... they said 25 minutes... I showed up 30 minutes later and they completely forgot to make my order... so I was forced to cancel because it would have made me late for a hockey game and didn't want to wait another 20 minutes.... no apologies given to me either... they basically joked about it and said they were super busy and forgot even though I was literally the only customer in there and not a single employee was working when I came in...Been going here for years but today was possibly my last time..I will go to Giovanni's or Alteris from now on

We went online to look at the menu and tried to place an order but when we called they increased the price to almost double advertised! The woman on the phone yelled in my ear for the manager and then when the manager came on the phone she gave me a story about how they know the prices are wrong but they wouldn't do anything to make it right. With that type of management and customer service I can guarantee you that I will never be getting pizza there again. Zero stars!

A
Angelina Harper

Decided to try this place. We were in town from Missouri to visit family who also had never been there. Quickly found out why no one else was dining in! To-go menus were their only menu, asked the difference between their stuffed pizza and calzone.... got told by the punk at the counter "I dunno, you tell me". Excuse me?! After sitting ignored for 10, we walked out. On the way out we got told by the same punk to "have a good night". Really?? Not apologize for ignoring, ask why we are leaving? Anything?!? Avoid this place like the plague!

R

Pizza was burned. Cheese and sauce had no taste. Wings were extra burned and they did not wrap the container and the wing sauce spilled out of the container all over the floor.

K

Stopped for Slices on Sunday and won't be back. They never heated up the slices, which appeared to be leftover from the previous day. The slices were undercooked, chunks of burnt old food pieces under the slices, and the cheese was ultra greasy. Do yourself a favor and eat at the other pizza shops in town!

C

Ordered a sub and a calzone for dinner after getting home late from work. $33.00 and the calzone was so under cooked I could not eat it. Called to complain and there was not even an offer to fix it or refund our money. This is not the first time we got undercooked food. Very disappointed! Will not be ordering again.

I've ordered subs from Tony's for pick up twice in the last month and both times they were well below average. The first time I ordered the chicken club as a buffalo chicken sub and there was no wing sauce and it was completely drenched and dripping in blue cheese and the lettuce might as well have been greens it was so soggy. After this experience I thought I'd give them another chance so I ordered a chicken club but this time dry with only mozzarella and lettuce and hot sauce and blue cheese on the side and this was somehow even worse. The lettuce looked like it should have been thrown out the day before. It was soggy as can be and so brown I nearly lost my appetite. This is what you are charging SIXTEEN DOLLARS for. I like to support local establishments because I feel it's important but I'm done.

My least favorite of the Tony’s Pizza locations in the area. Their pizzas are never consistent, the prices for subs and dinners are too high for what you get, and the slices aren’t even great - and they should be easily delicious. I live just down the street, but instead of ordering from there anymore I drive all the way to Tony’s on Burrstone Rd. to get pizza for my family.

Crystal Licari

We always had good subs from here in the past so decided to go with wraps this time. Worst wraps ever. My husband’s and mine each had 1 slice of meat on them. I did email prior to leaving this review with no response. We will not be ordering from here again.

Please get more efficient staff that can get orders right. Unbelievable! Ordered one kind of pizza and get the wrong kind, have to wait for another one to get made. No rolls for a sub, get a wrap instead. Will not be ordering from Clinton Tony’s again. Another family member has gotten orders not made at all, another time totally wrong. Maybe some more experienced staff, or adults might help. An esthetically pleasing pizza place isn’t going to prosper if the customers aren’t getting proper service. Please do better.

Where do I start... While young girl who waited on me while drinking her water bottle and barely being attentive as customer service employee, made me feel like I was bother. That was sign I should left ... So now the pizza or what they served. Had slices in case so I tried cheese slice and garlic tomato slice. I consumed 1/2 of each slice and was totally disappointed with the product they had served me. Greasy, cheese to sauce ratio horrible, crust no real taste to it, sauce the same so cheese slice was 2.4 rating at best. Garlic wasn't any better at all 1.7 rating. Hopefully they can figure it out got good location. Under new ownership according to the worker either way new improvement on the quality serving for you pizza. Tony's pizza name thing I don't know about but will try new Hartford area to see it they are similar for myself but one in Clinton right now I wouldn't go out way to go there

I love tonys, I usually get my pizza from the new hartford location as they are always on point. Tonight I wanted to try the clinton area as it was a bit closer. But sadly disappointed, I wish I took a picture before we ate bc it looked like there was a middle section taken out of our large pizza. We opened it and thought it was smaller for a large so we measured it and sure enough it was only 14" vs 16". We don't normally pick on the size but it was noticeable just taking a glance. Along with that it was pretty greasy and something off about it,it was almost as if it was a reheated pizza. Just didn't taste fresh. We were on time to pick it up. Maybe just not a good night but overall not a great experience from clinton, we will be going back to our usual in New Hartford.

I really wanted this place to be my go to pizza place as pizza in Clinton leaves much to be desired. Heavy on the cheese and soggy to boot. The pizza used to be crispy and thin. Invest in a pizza chef .

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE NEW TONYS IN CLINTON ***Same name. New management.*** I stopped in after work for a small salad. I usual order a large, however I have not yet ordered food since it’s reopening and was unsure of the quality. I’m glad I did not order the large. 1st- I called in the order for a small antipasto salad with NO cheese. The young lady on the phone told me “it’s ready now and I could head on over”. 2nd- when I arrived I gave my name, the girl walk over to the cooler a pulled out a salad and gave it to me. WITH CHEESE. Now, I called in my order to insure it was fresh AND had no cheese. FAIL! The lettuce was old and had that slimy, welty, texture. It had clearly been there probably since it’s opening. Not a great start Tony’s!
