Listen up, everyone! I’ve stumbled upon a hidden gem, and this time, it’s tucked away in the Colonie Center mall food court. G&T Cafe, a low-key spot specializing in Caribbean cuisine, grabbed my attention the moment I saw it. The menu was so intriguing that it was almost impossible to choose just one dish. I decided on the jerk chicken over rice with seasoned steamed cabbage. To say the flavor was incredible would be an understatement. The chicken was cooked to perfection—tender and succulent. The rice was moist, and the cabbage had a satisfying bite. Every element on the plate was a true delight. The customer service was also fantastic. The cashier enthusiastically recommended the curry, and the cook shared his personal input, which ultimately convinced me to try the jerk chicken. Their friendly suggestions made the ordering experience all the better. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from a mall food court, but it was clean and well-kept. Amazing! Got the goat curry with potatoes, rice, cabbage, and beans and it’s simply phenomenal. The meat is so incredibly tender and flavorful and the rice was cooked to perfection. The portion is huge and easily serves two or 1 with leftovers. I was so impressed with the amount of meat you get for a $16 price. I will absolutely be coming back and I highly recommended giving this place a try. The spices were perfectly balanced without being too spicy and the rice and beans were some of the best I’ve ever had. The cabbage will melt in your mouth. AMAZING for food court food. So so so good if you’re in the mall and need a flavorful bite.
I just discovered this gem of a place!!! I had the oxtails with rice and peas. Absolutely DELICIOUS! Generous portion sizes too. I'll definitely be returning to sample more of the menu.
Finally had a bite to eat here. Ordered the oxtails with rice. Meat was generously seasoned, nicely browned and fall off the bone tender. If you're afraid of oxtails--don't be! Very flavorful and like eating short ribs or pot roast. Rice and beans were very flavorful and rich. Could serve as a meal itself. Veggies are included too. I had cabbage which was a tad mushy but tasty. Menu prices are higher than other vendors in food court. Large chicken and rice starts at $10 plus $4 beverage plus tax and you will be prompted for a trip. My oxtail meal was $20 plus tax , tip and drink came to about $30. Nice meal. But be prepared to be set back $16-$30 per person.
I was shocked to see this restaurant, especially Caribbean restaurant inside the mall which is very quite surprising but after I eat the food, I recommend this restaurant to everyone. This is very nice and tasty. They have Guyanese Trinidadian and Indian food. You must try all those it is very safe for the family also everybody can come and sit together and enjoy. It’s a very beautiful location and the taste also very nice and people who are clear, especially the people who work in this restaurant they are very friendly and very respectful and talk to me very nice which I really like it. This is the one of the best place. This is the one of the best restaurant among the other restaurant in this mall highly recommended to everybody.
What a find! My husband and I stopped in on at this stall which is inside the Colonie Center mall food country on Saturday. We both ordered the two piece jerk chicken with cabbage and rice. We were blown by how delicious and tender the chicken was. It was well spiced and so flavorful, I couldn’t stop eating it! We asked for the hot sauce, which is a very hot scotch bonnet sauce but also bright and delicious. We also ordered the oxtail with rice, which is very tender and yummy. This place is a hidden gem, and everyone working there was really friendly.

Sooo good!! Chicken curry with rice, beans, and cabbage, and roti. Chicken and cabbage is so flavorful and tender, and rice is so flavorful as well. Can't get enough of this place, and it's really good value

The gentleman was very kind and served us with patience. My first time here i got the chow mein with baked chicken cabbage and rice and peas. The did was well seasoned and prepared well. I want a pineapple smoothie and he was kind enough to make one up for me which was excellent.

Overdue Review. This place is valid! No BS. I been rocking with them for over a year now and they are finally open on a consistent basis. Food A1! Good lunch specials and best priced in the area! I've tried the Curry, Jerk, Salmon, Rice and Peas, Cabbage and the lil noodles they be having. All smack! And it's way more options. Crazy good. And no I don't know them personally just really good customer service to where I feel like it. They always smiling 🙂 This review is real. Hurry up and buy!
If you dont try the oxtails with beans and rice you’re missing out!! This place is an unassuming little place inside the mall and easy to miss or skip over but I’m telling you It’s a hidden gem !! Prices are great also . Dont forget your freshly squeezed lemonaid before you go. This place serves really delicious food.
Went here Xmas eve. The food was salty and mid. They had no roti left and it sucks cause we drove 3 hours in hopes of getting some. Not their fault that they ran out, but was disappointed. It’s located in the mall cafeteria so just basic atmosphere.

This is one of the best Caribbean Guyanese Trinidadian Indian restaurants. They have very tasty, wonderful food and the people who work they are very polite, very open-minded. The treat , every customer with very good smile which make customer feel very comfortable and they are very informative and gave advice and took a time to answer all the questions and prepared very nice food for me which I really like it, to see a Caribbean restaurant in a mall which was very quite surprised but This is one of the best restaurant so far. I have visited. They have really very nice food and amazing people. Very respectful people. It is very safe to visit and they have plenty of parking. They have all the amenities you need definitely recommended to everybody.

Accidentally stumbled upon them while visiting Albany, having row up in Trinidad and viit often (two weeks prior), I was surprised to find my cultural cuisine in Albany. Live in NYC so always in Queens grabbing my taste of home! Worth the visit. Supposedly they said Doubles coming this week 😋🎉

I bought the oxtails dinner which was 30 dollars and they put the oxtail in the same container as the Mac and cheese and cabbage. Made the Mac and cheese very soggy. I asked them to put the oxtails in one container and the Mac and cheese and the cabbage in another. They said no they can’t do that because it’s an expensive purchase. Yea I know I purchase it. Bad business
