This Chicken Express has an amazing, friendly staff, and the food is consistently good..

Some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. I've tried Chicken Express in other cities and wasn't impressed. This particular Chicken Express however is hands down amazing.

I really enjoyed the chicken. This was the best chicken I've had. Did NOT leave me heavy or feeling bloated like other places. Cooked just right. Moist. Tasty. Breading stayed on the chicken. Good, solid pieces. Sides were great too, including the mashed potatoes. Service was friendly. Professional. Well presented. Certainly will visit again. Was worth the price. Good chicken. First time trying chicken express and I was l wonderful 😋 mash potatoes with gravy were really good for fast food. Chicken was fresh! But the corn on the Cobb was too soft. But still was really good eating!

When I say I have never had customer service like no other, I mean it. Was a brief but great experience. Food was flavorful worth the money. The cashier was so polite and patient with me, as I figured what I wanted. Brings true meaning to not judge a book by its cover.

Employees are fun and easy to joke with. food was also great even though they forgot our utensils. For being connected to a gas station its a good place to grab some fresh chicken!

I felt truly blessed because I don't think I've ever been given so much okra at a chicken express before. I really like okra. The food was hot and delicious. The service was quick and the order was correct. I saw a floofy cat outside by the gas station. All was right and good in the world that night.

Food was hot and fresh. Chicken properly seasoned, fries makes your eyes close in delight and deliciousness, corn on the cob was tender, and the Mac & Chz was super creamy.

The chicken was amazingly soft i have had chicken at other places that they don't cook it long enough for it to be soft and ends up more rough to eat. This place was delicious and the rolls omg the rolls were amazing dint get it confused with the biscuits I hate biscuits so I got the rolls. Also had the Mac and cheese but that was bland not good not bad. Definition recommend trying this place.

The customer service in this restaurant is unheard of these days, the man working the counter was so very nice and the other 2 ladies in the back were so nice as well. 3 ppl and they were busy busy, couldn’t tell by their enthusiasm and how fast they were pumping out food. I’m a manager on the riverwalk for a big company and if they were in San Antonio I would’ve offered them all jobs. These guys need a raise! Awesome

Best service I have had in a while. Joe made me feel very comfortable and appreciated. It felt like a small home town diner. I love that you can see the prep area and it’s so clean. Thank you to all who made it possible for my meal to come to me. It was amazing.

The crust is so light and flaky. The chicken is always cooked down to the bone! With zero fat under the skin. I love their selection of sides to make your meal. My favorite is definitely the corn nuggets! Yum!

I've come here on two separate occasions within 30 minutes of closing. Just hoping to maybe get a Non-Rollar dog meal. Going in with intentions of being perfectly okay if it's chicken that's been under a heat lamp. On both occasions the chicken was piping hot like they just pulled it out of the fryer. The rolls were top notch and I was handing my order within 3 minutes. With both times the women taking my order were cheerful and the team didn't look like they hated to be at work, and instead working together. You don't find this type of service these days

Passing through Comfort Texas on our way back to Albuquerque New Mexico, we stopped at this chicken express. It was so delicious and the staff was friendly. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. The gizzards, gravy, and rolls are must!!

Pretty straight forward…. This place has excellent fast food. Everything is hand battered so it just tastes so fresh. This is not an everything sitting under heat lamps kind of place. I had gizzards and my wife had the tenders. Both were great. The prices are fair and the staff is super friendly. Worth stopping for while passing thru.

The ladies at the counter today 02/03/22 12pm has AWESOME Customer service skills. They were only open for drive-through because of extreme weather conditions, she noticed I was a truck driver and opened the restaurant just to fixed me a plate. People like this make the difference in business, There are times we can’t get a hot plate of food, so I’m extremely thankful. Thank you soo much.

I ordered 25 chicken wings. I got a box full of chicken nuggets. They tasted fine, but chicken nuggets are not what I ordered, and they are not what I wanted. I did not find out until I got home, and I didn't feel like returning, so basically I got the losing end of a switcheroo.

They seemed to be very busy and they were out of a couple of different items, but the lady running the register was very nice and offered us replacement items and she talked to us for a few minutes to let us know what was going on. The food was good and we had a good time.

Food was good, service was good, price was reasonable, restaurant outsides seems a bit dirty. Went through the drive through and wait time was low. Will probably be grabbing lunch there again

Place is a little slow, but could use some improvement. Convenient place to get fried chicken without leaving town. Not as good as other fried chicken restaurants, but it'll do.

I Enjoyed hot fresh chicken and my husband had fish which was delicious. The service was friendly and the restaurant clean and stocked.

Always have to check to make sure all my items are in the bag. Especially the gravy...

Nice surprise in the middle of nowhere. Nice young people working there. Reasonable, fast and cooked to order. Chicken was good, but the gizzards weren't very good. Huge soft drink was $1. Good value.

There was the sweetest little ole lady I think her name tag said Vicky. She greeted everyone with the kindest voice the way your own momma would do. She took your order with such comments as “that’s my favorite side too” some man commented on her shirt and she put her hand on her heart and said God and country. There must have been 10 people she waited on and each customer was made to laugh or smile with her. She is a gem to this place. We need more people like her in this world.

They finally started selling spicy chicken! Decided to try it since I prefer the spicy tenders over standard tenders from most other fast food chicken joints and these were on par with most everybody else. The spicy tenders were a little smaller in size than the normal tenders but they did give me one extra than what I ordered. Definitely worth a try if in a rush and like spicy tenders.

It was a bit dirty but it is as you expect from any spot in the middle of nowhere. I liked that when I didn't want a drink with my meal that they let me swap it for another side. The fried okra is good and so is the mash potato. I should have gotten the spicy chicken since the regular was a bit bland.

I travel often from El Paso to the RGV.... If open, I always stop at this place because I love their chicken. There is no Chicken Express where I live. I always ask for a roll instead of biscuit... this time I thought I would try their biscuits for the first time....but it was as crunchy and as dry as a cracker. It was hard and just crumbled when I took a bite. Next time I will stick to the roll. The chicken however was hot, delicious, and crunchy and the employees are very nice.

Gets really busy during peak hours. Which means your food is fresh and hot. They were doing their best to keep up with all the orders.

For local fast food fried chicken and catfish, this is the place to go. It's fresh and good. Their fried chicken livers have never made me feel sad or ripped off. I've always felt happy. However, just like most of the other chains of anything in Comfort, TX there is a dirth of available trained cutomer care at the workplace counter. Good customer care happens when any person serving is happy empathetic efficient, capable , hospitable and grateful for the chance to serve your customers well. Do those things and earn 5 stars. That said: It's nice to live in such a great economy that it allows me to fixate on such first world problems, and I do feel for the management's obvious conundrum... all over town.

If you are not a fan of the McDonald's and subway across the way, this is a good option. Tucked into the gas station lays a tiny Chicken Express food is consistent as other ones I've been to. There's a wide selection if fried chicken, tenders, and gizzards. We came a bit late in the day so the chicken was not piping hot. However, food was tasty, crunchy and filling.

I'd like to give it 5 stars but I can't. Twice in 7 days they haven't had livers or gizzards. They claim they are just selling out. I'm guessing they don't want to make them and making excuses. I don't believe they were out twice...if that's the case they need to order more. Losing sells. Both times we just got food for one of the three people in the vehicle. We went there for livers and went home to eat leftovers...

First, the service was great -- very nice people. I order 3 pieces of fish fillets to go. The fillets were rolled in corn meal and fried just right. Six hush puppies came with the order. The fish fillets were great. The hush puppies were fair. They were a little too sweet for my taste. Still, I got my money's worth. I'll definitely go back the next time I am in Comfort.

Small pieces, but quick, which is what my concern was at the time. Courteous employees, but that's to be expected in a small Texas town where people are still largely raised with manners. Would be four stars if pieces were bigger.

Drive thru wasn't open for lack of employees. The older lady running the counter those was sweet and knew the menu well. Food came out correct and timely. Was one of the better experiences I've had there.

Be careful of the self serve tea container inside the store. I just poured myself, instantly thought the color looked wrong. Sniffed it and it smelled raunchy. Hard to describe, I guess something is growing inside the box. I'll let the staff know. But yeah. Oof.

Food was half dried chicken. Even told the manager. Which she didn't seem to care. Wow. What has become of the customer service these days

Chicken Express in Comfort, TX, offers friendly service and crispy fried chicken, but rancid frying oil ruined our recent visit after a drive from San Antonio. Stopped here years ago while fueling up at Love's—chicken was tasty then, and staff remains a standout. The order-taking lady was like a sweet grandma chatting with grandkids, super welcoming and Everything felt perfect until the first bite: the oil used for frying was old and rancid, overpowering the chicken with an off taste. Reusing old oil to cut costs compromises quality—disappointing for a return trip. Please refresh your frying oil regularly to match the great hospitality. We'd love to come back if this improves! The rest room was clean. I only gave 3 stars due to rancid oil, otherwise, I would give a 5 star rating.

It's a nice place. Just make sure the chicken is don't and fresh before giving it to the customers. I've gotten sick 4 times now from here because the chicken was under cooked...

Horrible service and they didn’t have any thighs at 5:00 pm then they left out part of my order. I came back around and called them pretty upset and not even an I’m sorry. Kids need to learn some better social skills. It’s sad

I've been to Chicken Express on many occasions I stopped at the one in Comfort Texas me and a friend coming back from San Antonio we are done they did not get the order right and left half the food that we purchase off the list we had a film left in our mouth from the chicken because the shortening had not been changed if you want a bad meal then go ahead and stop by Chicken Express in Comfort Texas although the one in Kerrville happens to have great food I just think it's the crew

We ate here because we were in the attached gas station looking at packaged foodstuffs. I wouldn't do it again. The employees were friendly but not clean looking (specifically their uniforms). The food was fine. I imagine if I'd had it delivered or done drive thru I would have felt better about eating something from there.

Unbelievably expensive. There food was fresh and hot, but there are way better fried chicken places at a way cheaper price. I'd never visited a Chicken Express before, and was really shocked at how expensive a place that I've never heard of would be. For just 2 pieces of chicken with no drink or side dishes, it was over $5. A dinner with 2 pieces of chicken, a biscuit, drink and one side was over $7. Also, the macaroni and cheese wasn't very good. Surprisingly bland. It's likely that I won't go there again. If I've decided that I want to pay that much for a fried chicken dinner, there are at least 4 other places that I'd rather go that don't cost as much.

Went to Comfort's Chicken Express for lateunch. Food OK but had to ask twice for someone to clean tabletops. The guy said just a minute & disappeared into the back. Asked again, later, same response. We cleaned the booth, but stupidly thought eventually someone would come clean it properly. Wrong. Food good as always. When we left I explained to the man at the cash register that we disliked eating in a dirty booth & he said I understand. Sorry. We left, sorry also.

I was left standing in line for 10 mins 3 people where working no one even spoke or acknowledged that I was a customer in line. While she was making food she scratched her head and was putting food in the fryer with the same hand no gloves that’s when I just walked out but it’s not like they noticed me anyway. I am so hungry I’m a truck driver I can’t leave until my 30min break is up. I don’t know if my race played a part because in the gas station they didn’t speak to me also. I Will never stop here again!!!!!

Very unhappy with our experience! We were told an 8 minute wait ..... finally after a 40 min wait, they told us the chicken tenders we ordered were out, and so they replaced one with a chicken leg. The tables were dirty with grease and food bits, bathrooms filthy and smelled of urine. Stay away from here; it’s not far to much better restaurants.

This location is horrible compared to the location. In Kerrville, the older woman cooking the chicken in the back was reluctant to make fresh chicken for my order.

I called chicken express 4 times & let it ring over 50 times each & got hang up. I called the chevron to confirm if chicken express was open, they confirmed. My family had a horrible experience. We waited after putting in our order for 30 minutes. We live 5 hours away. The lady working the window was very rude. Our chicken was dry, our cheese sticks were not done. We did not get all of our food we had to go back twice to get the rest of the food and remake our food. We called up there and talked to a manager named Lisa and she was extremely rude. Lisa would not listen to our concerns. She was telling how everyone has had a rough day and we completely understand but that is no reason to get peoples food wrong and have a bad attitude. My kids ate the food and I’m really glad that we caught the uncooked food before they ate it. Absolutely worst experience I have ever had at a chicken express

I will not be eating here again. For the 4th time in as many weeks I have had a bad experience. This last time I was given a biscuit when I ordered a roll and I was given spicy tenders when I ordered regular for my child who couldn't handle the spicy. And to top it off the tenders were old and almost to the point of jerky. The manager checked on me at the window and was polite but the young blonde male was rude and rushed shoving my order out at me without fulfilling the order. I usually look past small mishaps but this is the last time I'm willing to spend my money here.

I was visiting yesterday evening with my family. A gentlemen was yelling at a young black man who is a worker he was calling this young man very rude names not being nice at all. The young black man was handling this very well he did get upset but I wouldn’t expect nothing less. After seeing and hearing all this I could not believe my eyes that this man was still being served. My family and I come often but the last few times we have came I just can’t believe how the employees are treated so badly and nothing is being done they have a wonderful night time crew. I would love to see this place in better spirits. I know Paula one of the managers pretty well i contacted her on this matter and I hope it gets handled correctly. That poor young man was just trying to do his job

I will never get food here again. The sweet tea has chunks in it. The rolls had no butter on them and they didn't even give me ranch with my food. Oh and a few fried pickles does not fill the box when you run out of poppers.

After waiting for nearly one hour for our meal which we didn't get I have to say this is by far the worst place I place to stop for a hot meal there is NOTHING EXPRESS ABOUT WAITING FOR 1HOUR . The old lady at cashier is very kind but extremely slow just to take the order she gives long unnecessary explanations the staff are all slowpoke kids that look lost working in slow motion and obviously No training as to what to do in case you drop a piece of chicken on the floor with everyone seeing you You're not suppose to pick it up off the floor and put it in the customer's meal box ......I was going to complain to management but than we all saw how he goes and grabs a piece of chicken and puts it to his mouth while walking back to drive thru window .....The tea smelled like sewerage water and the tables and floors were nasty dirty tacky I seriously think this places needs to be looked at by health department or shutdown . We got our money back and saved our stomach from getting sick!!!

Food is good but the service is painfully slow. It took 40 minutes for a drive-thru order of chicken tenders, corn nuggets, and okra. Added: Most recent visit, got okra that tasted strange. A couple hours later I was violently ill. Won't be coming back.

Well I had my stomach set on some hot chicken never had chicken express before walk in the dining room all the employee's was sitting down on they phone I went to the counter to make my order stood there 3to 5 minutes out of the 6 employee's not one of them never move to waited on me so I said either they are out of chicken or they don't serve black ppl so I left the moral of the story is they saved me some money and I guess I'll never know how is the chicken at chicken express but there is no Comfort in Comfort Tx at chicken express for my people so black ppl don't stop keep riding and to think I have a heart for my brown bro and sisters WHAT A JOKE

Fast friendly service. But the chicken missed on many levels. There were a lot of people there ordering so I was thinking is would be delicious. My chicken strips was a 7 piece strip came back half my chicken was cold and chewy the mashed potatoes had no flavor and the cream gravy was too thick and has obviously been sitting all day. I guess high expectations for a gas station.

Why is it people feel they can touch your food with no gloves or without washing their hands? A worker in this CE just went in the freezer and grabbed a hand full of something and dropped it in the grease......like no gloves nor did she wash her hands.

Dec 21 hours say close at 10pm. I got in the drive through at 7:15. Kept saying hello and nobody responded. Drove around to front and lights were on, but door was closed. I called and employee immediately said “we’re closed”. I said it’s not even 8o’clock and it’s not Christmas Eve, Christmas, new years or any other special day. She was Incredibly rude after that. Then, the staff were talking badly about me when I went to the bathroom next door as the gas station. My guess is the staff didn’t want to work late on Saturday, regardless they could have just gone on the intercom in the drive thru and say they were closed and been nice about it.

Disappointed. The chicken was overcooked, the rolls overdone hard as a rock. I know folks are short handed. That's no excuse for overcooked food.
