I visited to see my cousin from California I’m from Columbus ohio and when I tell you everything was so good and made wonderful. The chicken was so crispy and good and the sides were the bomb ! The dessert was top tier too. If your visiting try this place please you won’t regret it

Great and authentic soul food. Enjoyed the turkey chop lunch special with Mac & cheese and yams as my sides. Very delicious meal, just the right amount to satisfy my appetite and cravings. The cashier was very friendly and pleasant upon entrance and greeted me with a warm welcome. I will definitely go back!

If I can give 10 stars I would! The customer service was perfect! The restaurant itself is so cute and cozy! Not a spec of dust clean as clean couldn’t get any cleaner!… I order the lunch special fried chicken with red beans and Mac. I honestly cannot complain about anything! Everything was so so so delicious. I am not from town I stumbled across this cute place with a simple google search, I am a big freak on places reviews and ratings and seen this place was a 4.5 rating and all 5 stars and I just had to try it! I am so thankful I went with my first mind and came here I am from the High Desert area and I will most definitely become a loyal customer!…… Cashier Brandon your customer service rocks I thank you for being so kind , patience and friendly to me and my young children <3.

The best catfish I’ve ever had and one of the best Mac n cheese and potato salads I’ve ever had!! Brandon is a gracious host and Alma is so awesome. I need to try other food items, parking is right out front! Yummy food.

Thank you Brandon for bringing me the bomb.com pies! Omg I love sweet potato pie and cheese cake and this is both in one slice! Rich delicious but not too sweet and they aren’t stingy with the pecans! Love this place! And I love it’s in Compton I’m In carson so this being local it’s super perfect!

Alma's deserves all of their 5 star reviews!! I ordered the Turkey chop lunch special for $15 and everything tasted amazing! I've never had a Turkey chop but I feel like it's a perfect swap out if you're no longer eating pork! My sides were Mac and red beans and rice, both were delicious! Next time I'm in the area and craving soul food, I'll come try other menu items!

This little place tucked away in a small strip mall delivers big time. I had the catfish, mac/cheese, redbeans / rice and peach cobbler.. The portions were sufficient and everything was flavorful. Staff was very nice and helpful and I met Alma. I'll return for more!

I visited for the first time in LA and we loved the food. The staff was very welcoming and full of smiles. I had thr turkey pork chops and they were oh so Devine. The 🍨 were even better. Thr Banana Pudding Cheesecake and Peach Cobbler was superb and that definite home made taste. If you want good soul food , thid is the place to go! A nice quaint spot to go to

First time going to this place. Food and desserts were excellent. It was a soul food restaurant. I got the smothered turkey chops, rice and greens. They had this drink called peach cobbler tea that was excellent. The fried chicken looked great. Will have to go back for that. I had a slice of coconut, pecan cake, great.

Wow, this food is delish, I had catfish fried hard and and seasoned perfectly. Mac & cheese, cabbage and black eye peas. You just have to come by and try. Portions are good I didn’t have room for dessert.

I went in for the first time a few days ago. I have NEVER been so welcomed and felt like I was at home, as I felt when I was here. The food was very delicious! Everything was on point!! We tried Alma’s after a review from Tik Tok and it did not disappoint! I love that the restaurant is family owned. The server was so helpful and amazing. The fish was cooked to perfection. The macaroni was delicious. I wasn’t the only one who thought so because my husband and I bought the last two. I was craving more 🤤. The chicken was crispy and to perfection as well. Even though the chicken and the seasoning of the chicken was good, as a Louisiana woman I wish the cook was a little more heavy handed with the chicken seasoning, but that could be a matter of preference. The strawberry cake and the tropical koolaid were sweet treats. I like how the koolaid was the right amount of sweet and not watery or diabetic coma like. I also had the red beans. The flavor in the seasoning was a nice take on what I’m use red beans tasting like. Because I was so full, I saved some of the red beans for the next day, and they were even better than the first day.The greens and the cabbage didn’t have much flavor which is why the review is a 4 and not a 5. Overall when I visit Compton again, Alma’s is definitely a first stop!

Customer service was great. I ordered the fried catfish entree. It came with 4/5 pieces of catfish (large pieces) and 3 sides. I got Mac and cheese (very dry not enough seasoning), greens (bland no seasoning at all and it tasted kind of dirty), steamed rice which is regular rice without seasoning (should have gotten gravy) and corn bread( I don’t eat corn bread so I’m not sure how that tasted). My friend got smothered turkey chops (fire), Mac and cheese (she said it was ok), candied yams (too sweet) and cabbage ( I don’t think she ate the cabbage) and cornbread. She got a fruit punch kool aid or juice whatever it was and I got raspberry lemonade (both were very sweet and syrupy). I only have a picture of mine!

The sweet potatoe pie was delicious. I really enjoyed it. I also had the oxtails and rice which was okay. The greens and yams were okay. I needed more seasoning for the greens. The staff was phenomenal. Very professional and quick.

The fired catfish was GREAT. However, the woman taking my order was not very friendly or welcoming. Maybe she was having a bad day. The lady who gave me my order was MUCH more friendlier!!

It taste just as bland as it looks in the picture… where is the pepper?? Never thought I’d get non seasoned food in Compton 😖. Yams was the best tasting thing but not amazing. 2 desserts were not good in my opinion. Strawberry cake had really thick dense frosting & SP pie slice was just ok. Let’s not talk about the potato salad…. This is my 2nd time visiting so I know I for sure will not be back which is too bad I love supporting black businesses but it’s too expensive for the product they are pushing out.
