I really liked the service. Our waiter—a young man with orange hair—was friendly and attentive. We came in about 20 minutes before closing, placed our order, and the food came out quickly. Everything tasted great, and everyone at our table enjoyed their meal. We also stayed for a little while after closing, and the staff still made us feel welcome.
Great service from the young man. The food was almost great. The chicken was a bit burnt but still ok. Kabob was perfect. rice great.
Had a great experience at Alborz! Mr. David, the owner, was incredibly kind and welcoming — you can tell he truly cares about his guests. The food overall was delicious. The Zereshk Polo was flavorful, and the Chicken Barg stood out — tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The Koobideh Kabob had great texture, though it was a bit on the salty side for my taste. The Salmon Kabob was nicely grilled and tasted fresh. We also loved their Doogh and the flavor of their Moosir — both were refreshing and authentic additions to the meal. The only downside was the salad, which didn’t quite match the quality of the rest of the dishes. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving good Persian food with warm hospitality.
I cannot believe that this place is underestimated. It definitely deserves 5 stars. I got the Alborz plate that is enough for two people. It comes with 3 different skewers and 2 saffron rice. The dish was absolutely super great. I got the Cesar salad, and it was below average. More cheese and sauce should be added. I tried the Turkish coffee, and it was just like the coffee I got from Turkey; super good and super strong. Also, I got a fresh pomegranate and it was good. The place’s vibes are so good. They have internal and external tables. For sure, I am going to visit them again.
Delightful place in Walnut Creek. This is a must go place for Lebanese/Mediterranean cuisine lovers. We came here, party of 4 and had a wonderful time. The cuisine is very authentic and well prepared, we loved the seating area, which was outside. We ordered some kebabs with rice and tea. The quantities were generous , and the staff very friendly Will visit here again
There was a show with a DJ playing persian music. It turned out to be a great and fun night. The food was great and with all the singing and dancing the atmosphere was fun too. We had masto khiar, sabzi for starter, chicken kebob and the kubideh beef kabob as main course and baghlava for desert. You can get wine and cocktails too also they have persian traditional called doogh which is great.
beautiful decorum, great staff and music. the food was perfectly cooked and delicious, a day to remember.
Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 5 Food Taste: 5 Recommendation: loved this Persian restaurant. First time here. I love going to Walnut Creek downtown for food options. Loved the chicken kebab and lamb shank. Their pallao was amazing. I will be back and highly recommend this place for Persian food.
Kababs were awesome! Moist with high quality. Rice portions were enough so that there won’t be any waste. Ghormeh Sabzi didn’t impress me much since I couldn’t taste the dry lemon flavor and looked like the meat cooked separately and added to gravy later. But overal, food was amazing. I am going to be a regular customer now on.

An Unforgettable Wedding Dinner at Alborz We celebrated our wedding dinner at Alborz Restaurant in Walnut Creek last night, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The food was incredible—everything we ordered was perfectly prepared and delicious. We had Joojeh Soltani, Koobideh, Lamb Shank, and the Combo Plate as an appetizer. Each dish was flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. The service was just as exceptional as the food. Mr. David, the owner, was incredibly attentive, checking in with us several times to ensure everything was to our liking. Ms. Zhaleh was also wonderful—so kind and helpful throughout the evening. She even took amazing photos of our wedding dinner, which made the evening feel even more special. The warm hospitality and exquisite Persian cuisine made this a night we’ll never forget. Thank you, Alborz, for making our celebration truly memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great dining experience!
I placed an online pickup order through the Boons website, but when I arrived, their system was temporarily down and couldn’t receive the order. I spoke with Aiden, who was incredibly pleasant and extremely courteous. He resolved the issue quickly and made the whole experience stress-free. Aiden is truly one of the best people I’ve ever dealt with in the restaurant industry. He genuinely knows how to take care of customers and make things right, even when the situation is beyond his control. Thank you so much, Aiden!
Our experience was excellent in every way; the food was delicious and fresh, the atmosphere was very luxurious, and the service was wonderful. I would recommend this restaurant to my family and friends.
I invited my daughter to lunch at Alborz Restaurant in Walnut Creek, CA. It's a beautiful restaurant with lunch or dinner provided indoor or outdoor. The food is superb and so is the service. My daughter and I have been here many times to enjoy the delicious Koobideh which is meat and comes with tasty rice and a tomato grilled and cut in half. The food is so abundant that my daughter and I have to bring our left overs home. We also order appetizers which are also delicious. The servers are very attentive and stop by one's table to check and see if one needs anything else. There is free parking, however, it's not a large one, although we always have found a place to park. I forgot to take photos of the beautiful food plates this time around. There is also an Alborz Restaurant located in Berkeley, CA. I have taken photos of that location and the delicious food plate. In that location, there is street parking. The cost is around $100.00 for two persons which includes an appetizer dish, food plates for two, two soft drinks, and the tip. You absolutely need to have lunch or dinner at either location if you're in the area. Bon Appétit!
Best Persian cuisine in San Francisco Bay Area! Always fresh, halal meats, very tasty, consistently high quality cooking, delicious everything. Chief, waitress and owner David Dorman are very attentive and friendly. Authentic restaurant, with beautiful interior which makes you feel that you're in Persia
7 of us went for dinner. Each agree the food was absolutely delicious. We shared 2 appetizer platters, 2 large plates of hummus and 3 entrées. The service was excellent. Very friendly, professional staff. The price was $26 each plus tip! Very well worth it! Can’t wait to go back with other friends to introduce this wonderful restaurant to them.
Food was great and the service was even better. The kabob barg is real filet mignon and very tasty. I thanks the manager because I ask for more rise and she provided me with more for no fee.

The food is fire! We dined here recently and enjoyed lamb and salmon. The portions are big and the food is flavorful.
This restaurant is close to San Francisco and offers a variety of Persian dishes — kabobs, stews, and more. We ordered an appetizer and kabobs. For the appetizer, we chose Mirza Ghasemi (an eggplant and tomato dip). After waiting 14 minutes, they told us they had run out of it. Seriously?! We were already starting our main dish when they informed us. Even worse — I noticed the table next to us (who ordered before us) was enjoying Mirza Ghasemi. Not very professional. At the very least, they could have offered us a different appetizer on the house to make up for the mistake. (Tip: check with the kitchen first — don’t wait 15 minutes to say something!) The Sultani Kabob was good — juicy and tasty. The bathroom was a bit odd (see my photos) — no privacy at the men’s stalls. Parking is limited, though there is street parking nearby (paid)

Very good service, attentive and helpful. The hummus was a little peppery but solid. The lavash could have been a little fresher. The chicken kabobs were tender and not too charred. (I added a little salt.) I really liked the Shirin Pol which made the regular basmati rice a bit more interesting. They add almonds, raisins, pistachios and orange peel to the regular basmati rice for an extra $4.50. I didn't know that they offered wine until I saw them bringing a couple of glasses to another table. I'm surprised that they didn't give us a wine list along with the menu.
Very nice restaurant with a good menu. We ordered two different lamb shank plates. Both plates were tasty but a bit too greasy for our taste. The table, service and atmosphere were very good. I recommend it 👌

Alborz Restaurant in Walnut Creek offers a charming and spacious setting with a cozy, inviting design that creates a warm and relaxed dining atmosphere. The ambiance is definitely one of the highlights with the white cloth covered tables and comfy chairs. The menu, however, has its ups and downs. The appetizer Kashke Bademjan was, as always, a delicious standout - rich, well-balanced, and full of flavor Mediterranean eggplant spread. It’s an all time must-try! Hummus was just a hummus and partially pull up behind. Unfortunately, the Barg Kebab didn’t quite make it being a bit chewy, had little to no saffron flavor, and came with an enormous side of rice that felt disproportionate to the main dish. The drink and cocktail selection was very limited and surprisingly plain (particularly old-fashioned), not aligning with the restaurant’s stylish decor. The dishes and silverware also felt a bit basic, even mismatched, compared to the overall aesthetic. Service was friendly but clearly overwhelmed having only one person covering the entire dining area on a Monday evening, despite good number of tables being occupied. All in all, place has a lot of charm and some strong points (especially interior design), but it could benefit from more attention to consistency, staffing, and detail.
This restaurant has been here for a long time. Last year when I visited, I received fresh hot baked naan. Unfortunately today the Naan we got was reheated. we ordered kashk e bademjan for appetizer and the Alborz special dinner for two . This was a watery bademjan with little Kashk. Definitely not a traditional recipe. The Kobideh and the roasted tomatoes were excellent the chicken and the barg kabobs were average, lacking flavor. My least favorite was the rice which appeared steamed.

Average. Server not friendly. A/C not on in summer heat. Did not apologize for the discomfort and concern not addressed. I had to go turn the “fan on” button myself. Rushed me finishing my meal as they were waiting to remove my plate as I was eating. Mandatory 20% gratuity, but service does not match. Decent food, but nothing to rave about. Menu prices higher than expected and not congruent with food quality and quantity. Much better dining experiences elsewhere. Would not return.
In a Nutshell: Brilliant food, but the service? A complete nightmare! I recently tried the Alborz Restaurant, enticed yet cautious due to its polarizing reviews. Joined by a couple of my friends, we started off our night with Ash and Tahdig with stew. Let me tell you, the blend of crispy rice and Gheymeh was nothing short of spectacular! For the main dish, we had Ghormeh Sabzi, a Lamb Shank, and I opted for a custom mixed platter – Barg and Cornish Hens. As the photos clearly show, these dishes weren’t just good-looking; they were bloody delicious. Wrapping up with Persian Tea, I was nearly transported back to home – a genuine, heartfelt touch. But then, disaster struck at the finish line – the bill. I had requested a swap in my mixed platter, which the waiter confirmed without a whisper about extra charges. Imagine my shock when the bill showed charges for two separate dishes! I politely pointed this out to one of the hosts, expecting a quick fix. Instead, what I got was rudeness personified! Not only did she refuse to correct their blunder, but she also had the gall to verify my story with the waiter. I eventually could convince her to fix the bill but it was appalling! I believe her name was Naseem as it was mentioned in the bill! This fiasco left a bitter taste in our mouths. Also, it’s a real shame – the team works their socks off, and one individual’s lack of professionalism can ruin it all. It’s crystal clear why this gem was deserted at prime dinner time. To the management: Wake up! You're hemorrhaging money and risking your brilliant team for someone who clearly hasn't got the first clue about the essence of hospitality. And if she is part of the management team, for the sake of her business and success of her team, she should remove herself from that position! My advice to potential diners? Steer clear of this establishment unless you’re certain that this particular host is nowhere in sight – better yet, make sure she’s on vacation, permanently!"

It was good at the first time and then become very bad. The taste is not Iranian food and it has a lot of oil for no reason. Briefly, we got sick after we went there. Highly not recommend it!
