Food was delicious. Very reasonably priced. We had two dinners and three drinks. Total bill $71. The view along the river will be awesome one the weather breaks. The service was also really good. Get the BBQ brisket

We rolled into town at 9pm on a weekday and were worried we'd have to go to Sheetz for dinner. Thankfully River's Edge had no problem with seating us so late. We had the place to ourselves, and everyone was really nice. We ordered a brisket sandwich and the rotisserie chicken salad. Both were FANTASTIC. The sandwich was huge and full of brisket, the barbecue sauce had a good flavor. The salad was out of this world, the whole combination was totally amazing. I loved the bacon dressing and it had loads of toppings. Everything came out pretty fast but again, we were the only ones there. The place was clean and the vibes were good and modern. We really enjoyed our meals! We'd definitely go back again, I could live off of that salad. If you go you've gotta try the salad. Did I mention the salad was really good? Gotta be in the top 3 best salads I've ever had.

Everything we have gotten here has been delicious! I love the mahi sandwich as my usual meal but I tried the seafood tortellini alfredo and it was to die for! The shrimp were some of the best tasting shrimp I have ever had! My husband loves their chicken picatta! It's such a cozy atmosphere with cute murals and a beautiful deck! The service is always very friendly!

As Connellsville natives now living in Savannah, GA, we were absolutely thrilled to discover The River's Edge on our recent visit back home. The atmosphere is stunning, with beautiful, modern decor and amazing views of the Youghiogheny River. We stopped in for lunch and were very impressed with the great wine selection. I had the grilled chicken bruschetta sandwich and it was delicious—perfectly cooked and so flavorful. It's wonderful to see a place like this in town. We will definitely be back the next time we visit and highly recommend it!

5/5 Stars! I had the absolute pleasure of dining at and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch - friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was breathtaking, with stunning views of the water that perfectly complemented the elegant decor. But what truly impressed me was the incredible value for the price. The menu offered a wide range of delicious options at very reasonable prices. And then, of course, there was the food... WOW! Every bite was a flavor explosion that left me wanting more. The quality and presentation were exceptional, and I appreciated the generous portion sizes. To top it all off, parking was a breeze, and the convenient waterfront location made for a lovely pre- or post-meal stroll. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience that won't break the bank, look no further than! We can't wait to come back!

This was a great venue, we had a party of 18 people and we're set up in the "new" covered area facing the river. The food was excellent as was the service. I would highly recommend this setting to anyone planning an event either large or small.

5-Star Review for The River’s Edge Restaurant & Bar ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The River’s Edge Restaurant & Bar is an absolute gem for travelers, locals, and everyone in between! Nestled right along the riverside, the stunning views alone are worth the visit, but the incredible food and service make it a must-stop destination. Whether you’re a tourist staying at the neighboring hotel, hosting an event, or just craving a memorable meal, this place delivers. Appetizer: The Firecracker Shrimp was out of this 🌎 world! $15 My 14oz New York Strip ($36) was cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and paired with hearty potatoes and broccoli/cauliflower. No steak sauce necessary! The veggies were a touch overdone but still packed with delicious seasoning. My wife’s Brisket Burger ($17) was a masterpiece—massive, juicy, and flawlessly executed. No notes! The fries? Crispy, golden, and seasoned just right. Yes, prices lean toward the higher end, but the quality, portion sizes, and overall experience make it worth every penny. We left stuffed, satisfied, and already planning our next visit. Pro Tip: Pair your meal with the riverside view—it’s the perfect “side dish” to an already stellar meal. Thank you, River’s Edge, for exceptional service, a welcoming atmosphere, and a dining experience that’s as grand as the scenery. We’ll be back! A Very Full & Happy Patron

Gosh, these were the best crab cakes I’ve ever had: and I’ve had a lot! Big chunk s of crab meat, just enough spices to make it perfect. (Not as in love with Rosemary Grains but nothing ventured nothing gained.)

Wow! Loved every bit of this dinner! I was so excited when I heard of rivers edge opening in my hometown and couldn’t wait to try it. The chicken piccata immediately caught my eye on the menu and it absolutely did not disappoint. I savored every bit of it. The portion was very impressive as well with 2 thick chicken breasts, plenty of sauce and a generous portion of pasta with the perfect amount of capers. The asparagus with it was cooked to perfection. It wasn’t at all overdone but yet not a single piece was soggy either and also had a perfect char. The location with be so beautiful the warmer months and the interior is very modern. Our waitress was so nice and knowledgeable on the menu. She went above and beyond throughout our entire meal. The hostess was also very polite and made us feel welcomed immediately. Every point checked off with my hopes of this restaurant. Next time I may request to not sit at a table near the door there’s a draft but that’s the only constructive feedback I’d have.

I took my son out for a late "Mom and Me" lunch. He had the burger. I had the Campfire chicken. We shared the Ahi wonton app. It was all great and super flavorful. They even put housemade croutons on their salad. Super cool vibe. Spacious, loads of natural light. Upscale-Casual. Fantastic service. Will definitely be returning. I can't wait until summer. They have beautiful outdoor seating -- and even a large event space. What a great addition to Connellsville! Don't sleep on this one!

The atmosphere is great. Definitely need reservations. The inside does not seat very many, but when the warm weather comes, it will definitely be amazing. Great spot on river. The service was good. The food was good. 🩷 white sangria

What a wonderful dining experience, hidden in downtown Connellsville! The food is wonderfully presented and is simply delicious. My wife and I both ordered the brisket sandwich and it was so tender and scrumptious. Our server was delightful. Try to get a table on the porch area literally on the river bank. It is simply beautiful! Overall this was a fantastic time. Prices are very reasonable also. I strongly recommend this for a great night out!

From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted by a warm welcome from the hostess. Server went above and beyond, food was delicious and the view of the river was absolutely amazing. Can't wait to return!

Great location as it sits right on the Youghiogheny River. Very nice bar and sat by the River for dinner. Salmon and beef brisket was really good. Service was great and friendly.

On a Friday evening the wait was not too long and we sat at the bar with views of the river while waiting. Table was outside on the deck and the weather was perfect The best thing was the food. Pot roast was falling apart tender with a delicious gravy.

We had an excellent meal here. The staff was extremely helpful, and the food was delicious. There is outdoor seating overlooking the river, but on the night we had dinner here there were too many insects. Thankfully, the staff was very accommodating and moved us back inside.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. I was looking for somewhere with outdoor seating to take my family for my birthday and River's Edge came up in my search. The food was absolutely incredible (highly recommend the ahi tuna and shrimp appetizers and the crab cakes!) but more than that, we had an unfortunate situation where some other guests were rude to us and tried to ruin our night/experience and the manager Katie and our server Rachel responded with such kindness and grace to us they completely turned a bad situation into one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. We also got to meet the chef who is an absolute artist and wonderful person. We left feeling like we had made new friends in addition to having an absolutely amazing meal. The outdoor seating is perfect with great river views, the cucumber martini was SO delicious and honestly I can't wait to go back. Thank you everyone at Rivers Edge for the wonderful birthday dinner (and did I mention the carrot cake? Seriously I've never had better.)

My date and I rolled into The Rivers Edge after a day of hiking, looking... well, let's just say "rustic chic" wasn't exactly the vibe we were going for. The smells wafting from the front door almost made us forget we were underdressed and we proceeded with caution. Thankfully, the amazing food and service more than made up for our slightly disheveled appearance! We ordered the Crab Cake Dinner and the Pasta Diablo, and both were absolutely incredible. Seriously, after a long hike, those dishes were like a culinary reward from the Gods. Delicious and perfectly prepared! Our server, Sara, was an absolute gem. She was incredibly personable and attentive. She made us feel completely welcome. Her service was top-notch, and she really added to the fun and relaxed atmosphere. I’d like to add, she recommended an extremely delicious spiced beverage that I’m still thinking about a half day later! If you're looking for a delicious meal and fantastic service, The Rivers Edge is the perfect spot. Highly recommend – especially if you want to see if Sara can handle your post-adventure look with grace and humor! Thank you so much!!

This is such a great upscale restaurant. The staff is always polite, service is great, as well as the atmosphere and the food is very good. Their hanburgers and grain bowls are highly recommended. It's so nice to have an upscale place in Connellsville!

Stopped by on a Saturday late afternoon. Macy was a great server. Food was good and it was a nice place. We hope to get back here in the summer and sit outside.

Had a wonderful lunch here on a Tuesday - we asked to sit outside and they accommodated us and turned on the external heaters (we were the only ones outside). Tina, our waitress, was amazing. The pot roast with the mashed potatoes was awesome. All of our meals were great. Staff was extremely friendly.

STOP SCROLLING. You do not leave Connellsville without eating at The River’s Edge Restaurant! Made from scratch. Top-of-the-line ingredients. Zero shortcuts. Service is a hard 10/10. If you care about real food done right, this is the spot.

I was visiting Fallingwater and stayed at the Comfort Inn in Connellsville, which is very nice by the way. River’s Edge is next door, both on the road river. I sat at the bar and the food was good-Ceasar salad and pasta far diavlo. What made the night was the service. Myranda was a joy. Very personable, funny, and makes a killer Manhattan. Jessica was only on her fourth night but was attentive, and worked like she was a seasoned pro. The space is very modern and the location is great, especially if you are staying at the Comfort Inn, which I recommend. Skip getting a table and sit at the bar and pray that Myranda and/or Jessica are your bartenders. It will make your weekend.

We were so happy to find this place that is part of the same restaurant group as Atria's and Juniper Grill. Our local Atria's closed and I was missing my favorite Sherry Crab Bisque and they had it on the menu. It was wonderful as was everything else they had. Also the atmosphere and the balcony overlooking the river is great! We will be back!

Yesterday was Valentine's Day and they ran out of some menu items. I won't fault them for that. Anyhow, the food and overall experience was excellent. It's nice to have fine dining in the local area. We will definitely be back

My wife and I were visiting Connellsville and decided to stop in for lunch. The greeting hostess was quite friendly and promptly seated us near the window as we requested. The waitress was quite friendly as well and took our order quickly. We had a grilled chicken salad and a bruschetta chicken sandwich which was delivered to our table in a reasonable, timely manner. Our waitress (sorry I don't remember her name) checked on us to see if we were good. We had a very pleasant lunch with a nice view, the staff was wonderful and we would definitely recommend.

Our waitress Macy was amazing! She was knowledgeable and helpful navigating the menu. She was also bartending and produced wonderful Old Fashions!! Her recommendation for the chicken piccata was spot on… delicious perfectly prepared! The lemon caper sauce was light and flavorful! Pasta and asparagus accompanied this dish were also very nicely prepared! The apple Strudel dessert was the bomb! With vanilla ice cream and caramel syrup on top!!! Macy is an asset to the restaurant! Great job! Hard worker!

I had the pot roast with the vegetable gravy. The mashed potatoes and gravy were great as well as a pot roast. The only thing that could have made it better is some bread to soak up the extra gravy. My husband had the grilled mahi sandwich with fries and he also thought that was very good. The staff was very friendly We're looking forward to going back in the spring and summer when we can sit out on the deck and enjoy some warm weather. They have an event room as well. It would be perfect to do a wedding or a party because out-of-town guests can stay at the Comfort Inn right beside the restaurant.

What a great place to sit and watch the river flow. Great draft beer, delicious food and astounding scenery! There's a little bit of something for everyone. Dine outside on the covered patio or hangout around the bar. The bring in local performers as well as local beer. 🍺 😉 Come hang out with your friends and have a great meal!

We drove from Irwin to Connellsville to check out The River's Edge restaurant for a birthday celebration based on the upscale menu posted online. We were early birds, so no trouble moving up our reservation because at 4 p.m. on a Monday it was fairly empty. Natalie, our server, was very attentive and courteous. We ordered the Brisket Quesadilla to start, which was very tangy and delicious. Natalie was very attentive to our drinks and making sure everything was to our satisfaction. The menu design made it ease to choose our entrees - not endless options. After finishing our appetizer, the entrees came out fairly quickly. The Chicken Parmesan that my wife ordered came out a little hot temperature wise, but the Fra Diablo I had was delicious with right amount of spice for my liking. The cheese cake and carrot cake were the perfect desserts to end the meal. The comfortable, pole building atmosphere in this small venue was adequate for a quiet meal.

If I told someone there was a restaurant in Connellsville on par with anything in Pittsburgh, they wouldn't believe me. But it's true. I ate here one lonely winter night, and was the only diner in the place. I had ordered the pot roast which was superb, like top-notch. The meat was tender (and there was a lot) and the kitchen nailed the carrots. They were still al dente, and that's the way a carrot should be, not mushy. Feeling whimsical, I opted for the same place the next night. This time, I went with a burger. I'm very particular and always ask for well-done. It's kind of my litmus testp for a kitchen. Anyone can do chicken parm or a piece of salmon. But a burger to order is more exact and, to me, a gauge on what's happening in the back of the house. My burger came out and I dove into it. The low lighting belied the condition of said burger. I was halfway through before I thought it tasted a bit too soft. Shining my phone light on it, I saw it was about medium rare. I asked for the other half to be cooked. A few minutes later, It came out, I bit and...it was still pink. Now, you might wonder why, after that experience, I would rate this place so high. Well, they've only been in business for about a year so there are likely still some small wrinkles to flatten. And the other reason is the way the situation was addressed. The manager, Ron, was gracious and owned the entire thing. I offered to pay since I had eaten most of it. He declined and comped the meal. And the conversation we had was, I believe, very positive. My interaction both nights with the staff was 100 percent positive. Throw in good management and wonderful menu options and yes, I would go back and even try a burger again! But the atmosphere is what elevates this spot to peer level with places downtown. The restaurant sits ! along the mighty Youghiogheny (hence the name) and the large glass garage doors offer a gorgeous view of the river. The interior is clearly a hat-tip to some of the famous regional architecture (looking at you, Frank Lloyd Wright). It's both modern and subtle, refined and tasteful. I assume the primary goal is to capitalize on the thousands of people who travel the Great Allegheny Passage (the "trail") in the warmer months. But this is a treasure for the local community, a great choice for a first date or other special occasion. So if the locals can dine here in the lean winter months, the River's Edge could have a lengthy stay. Highly recommend!

Ordered my hamburger rare but was cooked medium well. I told our waitress about this and she offered to make me another hamburger according to my liking. I declined. I ate my overcooked hamburger which tasty. The fries were crispy & beer cold. My husband ordered the Reuben & enjoyed it. I would definitely go back.

I made reservations for my husbands birthday and they sat us at a high top at the bar. It was really uncomfortable chairs, and the table was small your elbows touched the walls there was not enough table room. It would be okay if we were just getting drinks. I ordered a martini to come out with my dinner, it came when I was about done eating. The food was good though, the chicken picatta was tasty, the chicken sandwich came with a small amount of fries but I would love to try other dishes! I was disappointed the main dish didn’t come with a house salad or anything like that.

Meh. Nice view from the deck over the Yough River. Service was OK. Food was mediocre. Place was pretty empty on Thursday evening and it took about 40 minutes to be seated (party of 2). Food did come out quickly. We had Cream of Crab soup with no crab. Brisket sandwich was chewy. Reuben was pretty good. Fresh cut fries were cold. It will not make my list to visit regularly.

Visiting from out of town, we had a party of 5 and no reservation which we understood could lead to a wait. We were told by the hostess it would be an hour and half, although the restaurant was not anywhere near capacity. Ok. So we went to the bar on the outside deck (nice views, but small and tight) ordered drinks and an app and waited. After an hour a table of 5 left right next to us and we assumed since there was no one else waiting in their cramped area near the hostess that it would be ours. Nope. The server actually broke the table into a 4 and 2 and walked away. Then they sat a party of four who just walked in. Still plenty of empty tables they could have used to accommodate us. We asked the bartenders (whose attention and service kept this from being a one star review...kudos to them) and they said they would check with hostess because we should have been seated. I overheard their conversation with the hostess (who was rude and clueless) with the bartender saying we'd been waiting for over an hour (true) and the hostess said "I told them hour and half" as if that was set in stone and no attempt at accommodating us into one of the many open tables would be remotely possible. And you could feel the staff tension in the air. Then we were told there was a log jam in the kitchen so even if we got seated, it would be a long wait. So we ordered at the bar which led to us not being able to engage in much conversation with other. And when the food came, some had a decent meal, but stay away from Brisket dinner. Fatty. Tough. Awful. Again, the bartender went out of her way to save our experience and comped the brisket meal. This place likely won't last long based on our experience and reading other reviews. It's a shame because the space is nice. I wouldn't come back.

I came with a friend Saturday & the patio was FILLED with dogs… it’s pretty close quarters outside & someone brought their dog bed for their little yappy annoying dog & someone else had a HUGE Dalmatian; amongst others. That really cheapens this place for me, especially since there’s a way to get to the patio from the outside yet they would go through the restaurant out the side door inconveniencing everyone dining inside with dirty animals which is also against health codes!!!! Feeding into peoples mental health issues by allowing them to bring their animals places is a big issue & absolutely needs addressed & cut off before it gets out of hand even more. It’s also a huge liability. They probably allow them inside too. Disgusting. Service was ok, never really checked if anything was good nor were we asked about desert. It wasnt terrible but it wasn’t warm or great service. I love food but unfortunately this isn’t anywhere to really rave about. There’s potential here I just don’t foresee it coming to fruition.

Restaurant was nice & clean, service was good, food was disappointing. I ordered the bruschetta chicken sandwich. The menu listed it came on ciabatta, which I was excited for. It came out on a brioche bun, with no explanation for the substitution. The chicken breast on the sandwich was very small & thin, & had a pink hue to it. The fries were good though!

Food was not good. Italian wedding soup was too salty had dry chicken and beef meatballs as well as overcooked pasta. Rosemary bowl had no hint of rosemary or any other seasoning except again abundance of salt and overcooked rice. Restaurant itself and service were fine.

Our first visit here. Nice riverside spot. Ordered our meals , pork shank, and pork cutlets both fall features. Came out after a short wait. They both looked good but my wife's pork shank was cold inside, not even warm. My meal was hot and pretty good. Not her fault but the Waitress apologized. Sent the shank back and ordered a different entre. It came out in 15 minutes and was fine. I thought the manager might have made an appearance and offered us a comp to make things right, maybe a desert but we never saw a manager.

i have never done this. but this was so bad i had to do it. first off i specifically asked to sit on patio during the phone call for my reservation. when i showed patio was full. manager did her best to accommodate 20 minutes later after we were set by the bar with everyone walking by. moving on to the food. party of five with three people ordering the strip steak. two medium steaks and one medium ( excuse my mothers boyfriends order of medium well on a steak). three steaks come medium well. my son and i ( my son works in a steak hose in another city that we were visiting from). send ours back. second steak we asked to cut into by manager. i ask what are you expecting to see. see responds mostly red. we see burnt edge and nothing cooked. the look on her face tells the story. we send steaks back. now they are a great medium. after some back and forth i reluctantly accept steak as my other dining partners have completely finished. the manager tried to amend with a free drink and apps. but we paid for the steaks and desserts. lesson learned do not order the steak do not expect your reservation ready as requested. and clearly no one in that building knows how to cook a steak. if you expect any type of service. forget it. i would never send friends here. and i will never come back

Traveling with our dog, we stopped in here for dinner and had a perfectly nice time on their lovely riverfront patio. Went back the next night and we were told that dogs aren’t allowed. Apparently it’s up to whoever is in charge on any particular night. Just saying

I do not recommend this restaurant. Our server, Rachel, was the worst I have ever had. She took our order and brought our drinks, then we did not see her for 30 minutes. When she finally reappeared, it was obvious that she forgot to put our order in. Our drinks were never refilled. Food was mediocre at best. And what restaurant does not provide at least bread with an Italian entree? Also I felt the environment was less than clean with numerous flies and a worker behind the bar with a flyswatter!

J
John Schmidt

Had chicken picatta there several times before. Three out of the four people we were with had it yesterday. This time it came out looking like country gravy with capers in it. Nothing like I had before.

I heard such great things about this place and it was a total let down. My husband and I sat at the bar, and all we heard was the waitresses and bartenders complaining and gossiping. They said about not getting enough hours, management don't know what they're doing, noone is doing thier job correct, and kept going the whole night. We asked if we could be moved and was told the one waitresses would be upset because it would take her table. My husband's steak was over cooked and my salad was made incorrectly. We brought this up to the waitresses and she stated this happens all the time and it will take roughly an hour to get it corrected. We declined. On our way out we ran into a mutual friend and her family. It was there first time there was well, and said their food and waitress was bad. This is a beautiful restaurant, maybe new staff and management would make it better.

The brisket had more fat than meat and was room temperature. The potatoes were good. Best bourbon selection in the area. Echo was one of the nicest and best waitresses ive had in a long time.

We had my granddaughters birthday party..12/30/25.. There were very few people in the restaurant.. They started serving over a period of 20 some minutes... sandwiches and dinners... My sandwich arrived ten minutes after the last dinner was served.. Cold and soggy... The cake was being served at the same time my sandwich arrived.. I would not recommend this restaurant.. Hostess yes waitress yes ..chef definitely no !!! The restaurant had hardly any people there... So no excuse for sandwich served ten minutes after all the dinners.. I have noticed that's some of the positive reviews are from the servers that work there..!!!

A
Angie

This was our third visit. We ordered chicken piccata all three times however tonight the chicken piccata tasted like chicken and country gravy. It had absolutely no taste whatsoever. Whoever made. It should be ashamed of their self to let food go to a table that tasted like that.
