Recently moved to South Lakeland.. Dying for a home cooked meal, my stove is on the fritz!!... This place is walking distance from lake hunter... Outside looks small but inviting, 3pm , missed the lunch crowd. Very spacious ! Very clean and transparent as far as the kitchen goes.. ( plus)! Family owned and operated " Soul Food 💗" they bent over backwards to accommodate ! Food was " off the chain" ! Highly recommend! T
I have never thought a restaurant was good enough for a review until now. Babae's Kitchen is amazing! The fried chicken was PERFECTLY seasoned and cooked, the mashed potatoes and gravy were seasoned wonderfully and the mac n cheese was very tasty. Any place can have good food but what sets amazing apart from decent is the service. Our waitress was superb! She was very helpful and talkative we when engaged with her but also not over the top and fake. She made the visit all that more pleasing. Good prices, fresh food, and great service! I will definitely be eating here again!
My food was hot and fresh and my tea was just like I like it...sweet!!! I had Nile perch my favorite fish and it was good. You wont be disappointed...
Great food, and great customer service. I literally felt like I was eating a meal grandma made. It was delish!!! Everything was cooked to perfection and NOTHING was over seasoned. Must try if you're looking for country southerncooking!!
This afternoon I had the 10 piece drummetts and fries w/ ranch dressing and it was sooooo good. The chicken was seasoned and cooked just right and That Babae's Tea! Is the best drink to wash it all down. Good things come to those who wait! And it was worth waiting for a now and later meal.
Thank you for the finger licking delicious drumlettes and Mac n cheese you cook for the baby shower Saturday. It was seasoned and fried perfectly. I was only able to get 4 out of 50 because the guest wouldn't stop eating them up we will be coming back to u real soon 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Love BaBae’s Restaurant and the owners. The waitresses are very hospitable, professional and aims to please and make you as comfortable as possible as you wait for your order. Great food and always hot. Church services sometimes gets very busy and we have to skip some Sundays. Can’t wait to back! Yummy!
Authentic homemade food. Delicious! Excellent, friendly service! Go hungry but don't wait 'til you're hangry - Real food takes time to prepare. 3 chicken wings is a meal!
Outstanding service and the food was amazing not to mention the price was great as well. I was invited by my friend who had went there with his family and they all absolutely loved their food!! It's far above the average mom and pop Resturant. You wouldn't really think so, being in a store front type setting. The mullet I had ordered was wonderful and it was the best fish I have ever eaten. Its not real fancy place, but its very clean and remodeled well. The staff was so friendly and personable. Hearing the story of what it took for them to fulfill their dream to open their own Resturant and doing it with excellence, you also want to be apart of their success, as I feel we should do for one another. And they rightly deserve it!! Thanks again!!
Just had an amazing lunch here. Food was made to order fresh. Pork chops are absolutely delish!!!!!!! We will def be back!!!!!!! If u live in area def stop n check out. Prices are excellent!!!!
You literally feel like you're walking into your family's restaurant and eating your mother's cooking. The true meaning of soul food is served at this restaurant. This atmosphere isn't possible without the caring and personal servers that are in place at this time. A must experience restaurant!
My boyfriend and I had lunch at BaBae's Kitchen today. He had a pulled rib meat sandwich (they had run out of pulled pork). I had the catfish. The food was very good. The staff is friendly, service is great. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Had to wait a bit for the food,but it was worth it. I had catfish,my lady had the Northern burger. Both were good. Will be back. Servers were real friendly.
I have stopped by a few times since they opened on 3/5/18. Great food they have whole chicken wings which taste great dipped in the bbq sauce. Great variety of food choice from Ribs, chicken and fish to collard greens, lima beans, macaroni and cheese and Babae's baked beans. My kids enjoyed the food as well. Home cooking at its best. Definitely my favorite spot to eat. They are opened for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Great new spot in Lakeland. Real southern food at a great price. This place is clean and as an awesome family atmosphere. Customer service is outstanding. You definitely must try BaBae's Kitchen!
My husband and I stopped in for the first time. I really enjoyed the food, the food was really good. Mary T was our waiters. She was very sweet and her customer service was outstanding. The only thing we're disappointed about is there was no desserts served after our meal. However; we will return I just hope they have desserts next time.
Know the owner very sweet. Love all of them in the restaurant got sick and tired of fast food glad I can now enjoy an actual healthy meal from them while I'm at work or on break. Looking forward to trying the burgers year there amazing.
a friend went in there a day after they opened to order me food omg the food was nasty I wouldn't even feed it to my kids because everything I can order in there I can make it at home just fully cook it and for one of there iteams i can make half of my family a meal with there prices. My friend said it took like over 30 Mins serves was slow and they charge to much for beverages. I'm sorry I've never been there have eaten the food before and I wasn't happy with the outcome of it all. Crappy ass food. Pretty sad how you just have some grand opening and the food taste bad or looks like it comes from the grocery store like seriously. Never again I don't recommend to no one
Decided to try this restaurant for lunch today(Wednesday) ordered the 4 bone ribs with fries, after 45 minutes the food arrived. Don't know why it took so long. The ribs must have been left over from the weekend, very tough and rubbery, could not finish the plate. I had a bad feeling after the waitress brought the ketchup bottle and the paper label appeared to be months old, grey to the point you could hardly read it. If you want to try this place do it soon as I doubt they will be here long.
Very nice, clean place , but was not impressed at all with menu, food and prices! Not much to select from off of menu, way over priced & food wasn’t prepared as ordered! Waitress was sweet and well groomed! Probably or I KNOW I will not ever return! Wasn’t my cup of tea, but I pray they succeed!
