Avis sur Breakfast Republic Coronado
We ate at Breakfast Republic in San Diego and it absolutely delivered. I ordered the Shrimp & Crab Cake Eggs Benedict — and wow. So, so good. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, and the crab cake had great texture. My wife took a few bites and immediately said it might be the best breakfast dish in San Diego. She ordered the San Diego Eggs Benedict and enjoyed it — saying it was flavorful and really well done — but even she admitted mine stole the show. If you’re deciding what to order… go with the Shrimp & Crab Cake Eggs Bene. You won’t regret it. And our waitress was amazing!
This was a great place for an amazing vegan breakfast! We tried the vegan breakfast burrito and the bennies. Both were delicious! The tres leches pancakes were also delicious. The portions are pretty big.
Such a fun and lively atmosphere! I ate there on December 30, 2025. There was a long line and about 7 groups of people waiting, luckily I was by myself and was able to get seated at the bar! I got the California Breakfast Burrito with a side of Jurassic Pork. The portions were massive! I was able to take the other half of the burrito on the train back to LA. Don’t miss out on the Jurassic Pork, it’s delicious! Service was alright, the bartender was busy with a lot of drinks but he was attentive to my requests. I would definitely return when I’m back in San Diego!
This was our last day in San Diego, and our daughter highly recommended we try this restaurant before leaving. She had actually eaten here earlier in the week when she arrived ahead of us, so we knew it was a must-visit. We had breakfast on Friday morning, January 30, 2026, at the Breakfast Republic Gaslamp Quarter location (San Diego), and it was amazing. We were seated immediately, and there was hardly any wait before we were acknowledged at our table. I ordered the Golden Harvest French Toast with coffee, my daughter had the Strawberry Mascarpone French Toast and the Mexican Mocha, and my husband chose the Jalapeño Bacon Cheddar Sausage Scramble with coffee. Everything was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. Once our food arrived, another staff member—not just our server—checked in to make sure everything was correct and that we were happy with our meals, which was a really nice touch. The ambiance was fabulous and added to the overall experience. I highly recommend this Breakfast Republic location!
I went to the Breakfast Republic at their downtown location over the weekend and had a really great experience. Even though it was busy, we were seated in about 15 mins. The ambiance is casual and relaxed. We started with their in-house freshly squeezed orange juice and the Breakfast Republic specialty latte with vanilla, chai, and mocha. Both were delicious. The OJ was refreshing, and the latte was comforting. For food, we ordered the Hot Chick Benedict and their Chilaquiles. Everything was flavorful and satisfying, with generous portions and well-seasoned sauces. We also tried their limited-time special, the Golden Harvest French Toast, and this was the highlight. The brioche French toast topped with ricotta, fig jam, cinnamon-roasted pears, and a sweet honeycomb crumble was absolutely amazing. It was rich & perfectly sweet, and we honestly devoured the whole plate. Overall, a really enjoyable brunch with great drinks and standout food.
Breakfast Republic absolutely brings together great food, great vibe, and truly standout service. First off, Kayla deserves a massive shoutout, she was phenomenal. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful in everything she did. She checked in at all the right moments, made sure everything was perfect, and brought such positive energy to the table. Experiences like this are rare, and she’s absolutely the kind of team member who elevates the entire restaurant. Seriously, give her a raise! What we ordered: Orange juice & coffee – refreshing and a perfect start Protein pancakes – absolutely amazing, fluffy and satisfying Chicken fennel sausage with scrambled eggs – flavorful and cooked perfectly Side of turkey bacon – crisp and delicious Side of French toast with strawberry and mascarpone – sweet, creamy, and indulgent in the best way The food was delicious and tasted incredibly fresh. You could really tell the ingredients are high quality. On top of that, the place has an awesome vibe lively, welcoming, and perfect for a relaxed breakfast or brunch. Between the food, the atmosphere, and Kayla’s exceptional service, this was an easy five-star experience. Can’t wait to come back.
We were lookin for a place to have breakfast while visiting San Diego from Texas. We walked in to this place out of the blue . We got seated asap (table 2 ) and we had phenomenal service. Everyone was working together which was a breath of fresh air. From the host to the server to the bus boy. Everyone seems looks happy to work there and all had great attitude. Food was amazing as well! Highly recommend the Bacon Pancakes and my wife loved their Cafe de Oya. Will definitely be back.
A Must-Visit in SD! Unique & Addictive Flavors. Chilaquiles: The perfect way to kick off a San Diego trip with authentic Mexican vibes. The corn tortillas were tossed in a vibrant, slightly spicy red sauce and topped with plenty of fresh cilantro. I was impressed by the texture—even with the rich sauce, the tortillas stayed perfectly crunchy. Mr. Presley French Toast: A legendary, salty-sweet masterpiece. The combination of heavy peanut butter, sweet bananas foster, and savory bacon salt is pure indulgence. It’s bold, rich, and incredibly unique—a flavor profile I’ll never forget. The portions are generous and every dish is a creative delight. I arrived right at opening and was seated immediately, but the place filled up in a heartbeat with a long line forming outside. Highly recommended, but definitely get there early!
Service and hospitality was great from everyone. Food was delicious. Mexican Mocha coffee was really good, the OJ was freshly squeezed and superb. Breakfast burger was thumbs up! I got the cinnamon roll pancakes and was impressed. It was not overly sweet at all and very good. The line was long but moved quickly.
Breakfast Republic has creative options and twists on the typical breakfast. I chose the mushroom pesto Benedict. The sauces were incredible and the breakfast potatoes had a delicious flavorful crisp. They were perfectly spiced. The atmosphere is fun and friendly! The views street-side are pretty. The interior is modern and festive. The service was attentive and helpful. Prices were reasonable too.
If you’re in San Diego and craving a lively breakfast spot that knows how to start your day right, Breakfast Republic is worth a stop! I ordered the jalapeño sausage and bacon omelet, and it was packed with flavor: spicy, tangy, and downright addictive. The jalapeño sausage had just the right kick, and their homemade hot sauce tied it all together perfectly. My husband went for the breakfast burrito, which came loaded with eggs, cheese, and all the good stuff, plus a side of rice and beans. The burrito was tasty, though the sides could use a little extra seasoning to really make them pop. The portions were huge (come hungry!), the food came out hot, and the service was swift and friendly: shout-out to Adrianna, who took great care of us and kept the vibe upbeat and fun.
Big shout out to Marissa and Gustavo who were the most personable and sweet servers. We loved this place for our first breakfast in San Diego. It seems that I give 5 stars often but if I could give a 10 it would be here at the Breakfast Republic. Best avocado toast anywhere (which is my go to when eating out for bfast) adding an over-medium cooked egg. Hubs ordered shrimp and grits which is a highly desired dish here. Ambiance is relaxing and laid back.
Great experience. Don't be fooled by the long line- it actually goes by quick. We signed up and walked around, all other breakfast spots in the area, had longer wait times. People are super friendly and so open to give recommendations- which were on point. I tried the shrimp grits- I love them and figured if I didn't like them- my family was willing to share their food (which was basic traditional breakfast- so you can't mess it up). My shrimp and grits were so good and their brussel sprouts were amazing- don't worry they might look a little burnt but they were so good. We tried their three-pancakes as well (don't judge, lol.. yes, it might have looked like a lot on our table but we needed to eat enough to hold us over for our long drive home). Anyhow, our fave was for sure the pineapple pancake. No regrets here, we will def be back here the next time we're in San Diego.
I am not a big breakfast person, but I could eat here daily (if only there was one in my backyard)! The food was awesome. We enjoyed the omelet and "pancake flight." And oh, the mimosa was the best I have had in a really long time! Will plan to eat here any and every time we visit beautiful San Diego!
Breakfast Republic was a memorable breakfast experience for my husband & I during our stay in SD. I was hesitant to order the Chilaquiles but omg I am so glad that I did. They were delicious! I paired it with Cafe de Olla also SO good. My husband got the Traditional Eggs Benedict. The service was great. Overall I’ll definetly return next time we are in town.
Overall, the food was good. The Shrimp & Grits were good just different because I never had corn in my grits. I wish the potatoes were seasoned and cooked a little longer. I loved the coffee!!!They give you large portions. It was really busy but the wait was not that long. The downtown location seems smaller than other location. It was really clean and is located in the heart of downtown.
All the food was to die for!! I got the “Flight of 3 pancakes” where you can choose 3 pancakes for $17. I got the Oreo Cookies pancake, Churro pancake, and Cinnamon Roll pancake. I would rank the Oreo Cookie the best, then the Churro, then the Cinnamon Roll pancake but that is just my preference. *Just to note these plates/servings are HUGE so keep that in mind!* Next time I would get a more savory meal and a pancake on the side cause they are sweet but I would highly recommend this place!
Breakfast Republic was an absolute delight. The food was great. The service was super fast and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Gustavo at the G street location was the best!! I loved the overall ambiance of the restaurant and it’s clearly a fan favorite based on how much business was coming through! If you’re looking for great fast service stop by.
Got myself a breakfast jambalaya, which was absolutely phenomenal. Between my friends, they got pancakes, steak and eggs, and french toasts that all seemed very tasty. My only gripe is that our receptionist didn't seem too friendly when we asked for a table of 14 and that we had to wait a decent while despite some tables being empty inside. Otherwise the food and service was pretty good.
I’m writing this review because I don’t want to stay silent about a very uncomfortable and concerning experience I had here. I ordered a brunch dish and found what I am completely certain was a piece of plastic in my food. I actually put it in my mouth and tried to chew it to make sure what it was. It was hard, would not break down, and when I pulled it out and held it between my hands, it was clear it was plastic. There is no doubt in my mind that it was plastic. It was clearly cooked into the meal and visually looked similar to fried egg, which makes it even more dangerous because it’s easy to mistake. I informed the waitress, who took the piece away without saying a single apology. Later, the manager came over and immediately told me it was egg, making me feel as if I was mistaken, instead of taking my concern seriously. My son did not want me to escalate the situation, but the moment was already ruined. What was meant to be a nice time together turned into stress and worry over a potential health risk. I’ve personally experienced a situation in my home country where someone almost died because a piece of plastic got stuck in their throat. If this can happen to an adult, imagine the risk if it were a child. What bothered me the most was not the charge — I truly don’t care about that — but the lack of accountability, empathy, or even a simple apology. I was made to feel like I was wrong. The food itself was very good, which makes this situation even more disappointing. I was told the kitchen was very busy, and that is exactly why extra care should be taken, especially when handling vacuum-packed ingredients, where plastic can easily end up in food if not handled properly. This was a health risk and a very stressful moment that affected my day with my son. I’m sharing this experience so the restaurant can be more responsible in the future and so other customers are aware. was only able to take a photo of a very small remaining piece. The larger piece was taken away by the manager before I had a chance to photograph it.
