This little spot held so much warmth - you can feel the calm immediately as you walk through the doors. The service was EXCELLENT and the food was delicious. Many dishes were also offered as vegetarian or vegan. Their recipes use butter and you can detect the rich flavor in the samosas and other dishes. The proportions were just right, the space was not overly bright but the tables had their own cute little lamp. Despite the limited size of the venue, there was plenty of seating with booths and tables. Will be back 🙌
I couldn’t stop saying “wow!” the entire meal. Food was incredible. Make sure to order the Tea Leaf Salad. Do not miss this place!
First time in my life trying Burmese food and I feel in love. I will most definitely be back soon! The customer service was amazing and vibes were unmatched. Highly recommend the angel wings
Staff was very friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was good, with enough outdoor seating to not overwhelm the staff. Food was outstanding! All the items we ordered were delicious with great flavors. Everything seen going to other tables, looked and smelled as good as anything we tried. Make reservations if you're going to show up after 5, they fill up fast and stay busy.
Fabulous food, friendly service, and vibey indoor and outdoor atmosphere.
I went to this place two nights in a row. This is my current favorite restaurant and I hope to try everything on the menu at some point. The staff remembered us from the previous night. I highly recommend the wings the pork curry with the coconut rice and make sure to order the habanero sauce to go with everything. I can’t wait to go back again.
Thai basil stir-fry was pretty good. I got the vegan option with rice and the sauce was delicious! Only thought is in my opinion there were too many green beans compared to the rest of the vegetables. Next time I would ask to add tofu and more vegetables. The tea leaf salad was outstanding - would 100% order again! Very cute space and vibe! Staff was very friendly and attentive. There was a bit of a wait but even though they were busy we got a table pretty fast overall. Plenty of parking!
I usually don't give 5 stars on a first visit, but i couldn't find a reason not to. First, i didn't even know what Burmese food was, but it didn't matter, it tasted great. A bit crowded in a Wednesday night, we get seated within 30 minutes. I got the miso blackened Cod. This is only the second time I've had miso cooked fish, and both were amazing. Friends got the Reef and Turf (lobster and lamb chop) and Scallops. Guava cheesecake topped the evening. Our server was excellent, and we tried to convince him to take a break and share our cheesecake. He professionally and politely declined, but he was great. We will be back!!!!
We had great experience at Burmatown. They have outside seating area in front of the restaurant with heaters. They have contact less menu (scan the barcode to see an online menu). All the food we ordered was very good. The service was also great. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. You can also call or order online for a curbside pickup, too.
Our first time here. Came for lunch on a Thursday, and we were completely blown away. The food is delicious, the portions are HUGE, ane the service is excellent. We had Jalapeno Shrimp Chow Fun and Coconut Chicken Curry with Squash, with Coconut Rice. Both dishes were superb. This $38.50 lunch order (before tax and tip) would have fed 4 people very easily. The two of us not only took a whole meal’s worth of leftovers home, we also ordered two more curries to go (Braised Burmese Pork Curry and one more order of the chicken curry). They were unusually busy that day, but the service was still excellent. We will be back many, many times, for sure! The photograph shows our leftovers after 2 people had eaten their fill!
This review was for back in June. Just now getting around to reviewing. Fast service and short wait time for two even on a Friday evening. The food was so delicious and I've never had Burmese food before. Our waiter provided lots of information about his recommendations. Will be returning next time I'm in town.
The food was so so good! I highly recommend the chicken Bao and Jalapeño noodles. It was too good and the service was awesome

We grabbed a post shopping lunch at Burmatown, and couldn't be happier. We arrived at 1:30 p.m., just before their post-lunch pause before dinner. Not to worry, the food came quickly and we were well warned before the kitchen shut down. We had a quick lunch, sharing 2 dishes. First was Silken Cold Tofu Salad ($16). We were warned that this wasn't really a salad (no lettuce), but went ahead. A large block of soft tofu covered with pickled vegetables and a delicious mélange of spices. Very good, but shockingly cold, as advertised. Next was BBQ Pork BBQ Garlic Noodles ($18). This was a smooth rendition of this classic dish. The BBQ pork was the star here, being was plentiful and delicious. The garlic, if it was there, was not noticeable. I love garlic, so I was somewhat disappointed. This was a small meal, but we took half of the noodles home. So the portions were adequate.

The San Francisco Bay Area has one of the largest Burmese communities in the country, and no spot is better (word spreads fast) than Burmatown. Start with a fermented tea leaf salad (tossed right in front of you) and then get a mix of curries, garlic noodles, stews, and stir fries. Chef Jenny prepares delicious food using fresh local produce, perfectly paired with some of the best California wine. The menu is built for sharing, with standouts like bao, crispy angel wings, and samosas. Service is superb—Pearl took amazing care of me! Sleek, modern interior. Easy to get to and plenty of parking. I will be back soon.
This place is awesome. Our waitress was a great. We followed her recommendation and got a couple of the specials and they were amazing, it was a shrimp lettuce wrap thing and a beef rib plate. We also had the chicken wing appetizer. Everything was fantastic! Place got crowded. Wish I had taken a couple pics but I didn't.
Awesome service and great food! That's healthy and fresh and the people were just amazing and so helpful about their recommendations. So unpretentious and accessible and I'll be going back as soon as I can.
Jalapeno noodles with shrimp hits the spot every time, been going here over a year now and consistently good. My friends also love their dishes, garlic noodles with pork, a little pricey but worthed.

I can see why people go here, it's different, but for me it's not memorable or something I would seek. Flavors were okay, nothing unique, things were missing salt. I really like the glazed ribs, but I have since gone GF for autoimmune reasons, which limits what I can have, and can no longer have the items I liked here (i.e. ribs) We had their special salad, Mango salad, pork curry stew, fish chowder that we didn't like, glazed ribs, and a stir fry so far.
I always enjoy Burmese food. I will say the food was all decent but I was left disappointed in a few dishes. The restaurant was cute but gets very busy just as a heads up. Likes : 1. The bbq meat with rhe garlic noodles (on the sweeter side which I enjoy) 2. Thai iced tea is always so good 3. Coconut rice 😍 Not thrilled on: 1. The pork curry tasted like it was lacking flavor, as if someone forgot to add salt. The meat itself was cooked to perfection. Overall dissapointed in the flavor. 2. The tea left salad also seemed a little lack luster. I thought it needed something more. Recommendations: 1. Make a reservation. 2. Don't come if you are hard of hearing, it gets very busy and can be loud and hard to hear.
Pretty good casual restaurant with a blend of Thai and Indian food. Platha and dip was good, pull apart layers with a sort of satay sauce dip. Beef bao was also excellent. Korean Kalbi ribs were thin cut with the bone in, and delicious. Comes with really tasty garlic noodles. The basil shrimp was disappointing, a lot of beans, few shrimp and not much else. Tasted ok, but different veggies and more shrimp would be an improvement. All the dishes had just the right amount of heat, balanced with the excellent coconut rice. Service was really friendly and not too much waiting for the food. Great place for an after work meal.
4/5. They’re doing a lot of things well, like the ambiance, staff, tea leaf salad, bao and chicken curry. However some of the other dishes don’t quite hit the mark because it’s too saucy and sweet ( 👀 green beans and noods)

This place is obviously a gem in the Neighbourhood. However, we found our food very rich and dare I say overseasoned. Make sure you order a salad to balance it all out!
Bland food, basically you are eating a plate of sugar no matter what the dish. Tea leaf salad=sugar. Ribs :sugar. Chicken curry:sugar. Give them all a try. It's flavorless but if you enjoy sweet and nothing else, this is your place. I've been to Burma, nothing in here tastes even a smidgen of Burmese authentic.
