My favorite place growing up they NEVER disappoint 🙈 the plates are affordable and always yummy. And they have a good atmosphere where you can either sit inside with games playing on the tv or you can sit outside. Customer service is always great too. The girls in the front are always so friendly as well. I always order the shrimp tacos with pinto beans 🤌🏼
The food here is really good. Also feels very fresh. The service is great. They have a great salsa bar. The layout is wide open kinda kills the atmosphere a little bit but that’s OK cause it’s a step above fast food. So far there’s nothing on the menu. I have not liked the food is terrific. Portions are also large my favorite meal here is the chicken burrito wet. I also feel like there’s a healthy option. You can get black beans with plain white rice.
Loved loved loved everything—the beans were on another level, the sauces were clearly fresh and homemade, and the salad was refreshing! I do want to point out that the fish was quite dry (though you could cover it up with the sauce). I’d opt for shrimp next time maybe. The tacos themselves weren’t very impressive, but I was blown away by practically everything else on the plate. I asked for salad to replace the usual rice in the combo and was very satisfied.
Huge portions. Fresh food. Friendly employees. Clean dining room. Diverse menu. Salsa bar!
It's such a good and delicious place to eat that the smell attracts you, and makes you more hungry the more you wait in line. My wife and came for our 10 year anniversary and we got the two tacos Ensenada Style, and one green wet burrito the food arrived and left so fast we forgot to take a picture until it was almost too late this place is a definite MUST TRY we shared two plates and were stuffed.
Every time I am near Costa Mesa, Baja Fish tacos is a must! The Ensenada style tacos are not only the best fish tacos I've had but some of the best tacos I've had in general! I will be back again and again
I love this place! The food is always so tasty, I love the big salsa bar, and the staff are so friendly. Everything always comes out fresh!
Simply wow! My first fish tacos. And it was amazing. Great service, nice place for dining in and really helpful staff. They give me tips and info so my first proper taco experience was great. I fell in love with tacos since my visit in Baja Fish Tacos.
Baja Fish Tacos has fantastic fish tacos, burritos, and bowls. The fish tacos were really good and you can have them served blackened or grilled.
Good food. The tacos are pretty big, they don’t skimp on the taco filling and it is delicious. I ordered 3 tacos, Ensenada style, Blackened, and Carne Asada. I wish they had a kids menu but the bean and cheese burrito was a decent kid option.

Love this place. My favorites: shrimp taco and coal broiled fish burrito (no rice and no black beans)
Baja Fish Tacos is easily one of the best spots in Costa Mesa for anyone who appreciates fresh ingredients, authentic flavors, and consistently excellent food. Every visit feels like discovering a little piece of Baja right here in town. The moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by a casual, friendly atmosphere and the comforting aroma of grilled fish, warm tortillas, and perfectly seasoned salsas. It’s the kind of place where the food speaks for itself—and it never disappoints. The fish tacos are the star of the show, and they’re done exactly the way they should be: flaky, flavorful fish lightly battered or grilled to perfection, nestled in a warm tortilla with crisp cabbage, creamy sauce, and just the right amount of spice. Every bite tastes fresh and balanced, with the kind of attention to detail that you can only get from people who take pride in what they serve. The shrimp tacos are equally outstanding—juicy, well-seasoned, and bursting with flavor. Their menu offers a variety of options beyond tacos too—burritos, bowls, enchiladas, and even vegetarian choices that are just as satisfying. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the freshness is unmatched. You can tell everything is made from scratch daily, from the perfectly cooked rice and beans to the zesty salsas that add that extra kick of flavor. What really sets Baja Fish Tacos apart, though, is the people. The staff is always welcoming, fast, and attentive, even when the place is busy. They’re quick to make you feel at home and ensure your order is right every time. The restaurant is always clean and well-kept, with a relaxed beach-town vibe that makes you want to stay and enjoy your meal slowly. Whether you’re grabbing lunch after the beach, meeting friends for a casual dinner, or just craving something fresh and satisfying, Baja Fish Tacos delivers every single time. It’s local, reliable, and delicious—everything a great neighborhood restaurant should be.
Best Baja style food around! The service is amazing and Cynthia is such a great employee, makes our family feel welcomed every time. Thank you Baja fish taco !!!! No other Mexican food place can top this place.

We love this restaurant -it’s the healthiest fresh Mexican food in town. Everything is delicious, the service is excellent & the place is very clean!
This restaurant has limited seating outside but plenty of seating inside. The tables inside can be moved for any size party while the tables outside are fixed. Their menu offers a couple of vegetarian options that can be made vegan - burrito, tacos & salad. Pictures here are the burrito and the salad which were made plant based. They have an excellent salsa bar that fits your spicy levels - mild to hot. I found out that they fry their tortillas and tortilla chips in canola oil. It’s very busy during the lunch hour so plan accordingly. Parking is right in front of the restaurant and free. Enjoy eating mostly plants. 🌱
We had a long day at Knott's Berry Farm and we needed mass amounts of fluids. We heard this restaurant had the best salsa bar, so we thought we would try it out. We ordered a Chicken Nacho and a Shrimp Taco. Both items were very good. The salsa bar did not disappoint, in fact, I had to order more chips to get my fix. The guy ordering that night was a bit impatient, so that was a bummer. They have a self-service soda machine, so you can drink plenty of soda if you are an addict. I got my fix and was definitely hydrated when I left!
Very decent Mexican fast food. This place gets busy and it has plenty of parking spaces. However at time, there's limited cashier to take your order. So expect a queue. Staffs are friendly and the place is clean.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is i didn't like the white rice, otherwise the ensenada style fish n beans, guacamole n salsa were so delicious. I would definitely go back.

The blackened fish tacos were fresh and tasted good. They were a little bland. Was overcharged and said they would return it to my card but never did. Probably won't go back. There're better fish tacos in the area.
I usually order a bowl which is great!! I decided to try the chicken nachos … bad decision!! Definitely not worth the price and it was a few beans , chix, chips which were smothered in too much queso …. Back to a bowl!!

I’ve been a customer of this restaurant since it first opened and have always enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. Today, my wife and I came in for lunch. The restaurant was very busy, as usual. We placed our order and the food arrived excellent, just like always. Unfortunately, the issue was with the service. While we were still eating and had not finished our meal, a server came to our table asking to remove our plates. I completely understand that the restaurant was full and that there were other guests waiting for tables, but I believe the minimum expectation is to allow customers to finish their meal comfortably. When I told her we were not done yet, she insisted and said “it’s the service,” which made the situation uncomfortable and gave us the feeling that we were being rushed out. This was disappointing and not something I had experienced here before. It’s unfortunate, because the food quality remains excellent, but experiences like this make customers feel disrespected. No one wants to be rushed while still eating. I truly hope this is addressed, as situations like this make loyal customers think twice before coming back, even to a restaurant they’ve always liked.
