This place is so awesome! Went here for the first time and the staff was super nice. I'm not really a sandwich person but today I was really craving one. The man at the counter helped me with the menu. The sandwiches here are a little pricey, but superb in quality. I will definitely be coming back!

My first time here. The firehouse "hero" sub is good.

Compared to other sub places this is by far the best one this is based on a traditional walk in only, I don’t do cupones or just any other out of the ordinary thing. Me and my son got one footlong it it’s a lot bigger that subways footlong we both got full the price is probably a little bit higher but I rather come here and spend it one something really good. I had the cheese and stake and it was on point

Day two, my meal was ready and even extra effort given to the condiments on the side. Unfortunately I specifically required NO pickle/relish of any sort extremely allergic and it was butted directly up against my wonderful brisket, so I ate the brisket without the bun. Totally delicious with cheddar! You won me to return again.

I come with a group of adults with developmental disabilities, the staff is always polite, considerate, and responsive to their needs and requests. Did I say patient and kind? All that and more.

Lots of options to choose from. Food is way better than subway, but same price. There is about 20 different bbq and hot sauces to choose from if you want. You can watch the game on the two TVs. Place is always clean and the staff is friendly.

I love Firehouse Subs, but this particular location is my favorite! I've never been unhappy with anything I've eaten here. My fave is the Hook and Ladder Sub (note: add a slice of cheddar if you're a fan of cheese). The customer service from all of the employees is superior. However, I do feel there is one crew member who goes out of his way to go above and beyond to make sure everything goes just right. Nate T. has a great positive attitude, pays attention to detail, and always works hard. Gotta give props where props are due. Thank you, Nate! It smells great right when you walk in the door and all of the firehouse memorabilia is cool to check out, particularly because they have stuff from the Costa Mesa Fire Department and its history. If you're in the area and feeling hungry, this is definitely a place you wanna stop to fill your tummy. Full. Happy. Satisfied.

Absolutely delicious sandwich with gluten-free options. And the manager, Julian B and his staff are always an absolute pleasure to see! They are quick, efficient, friendly, and their sandwiches are absolute fire! Highly recommended!

Awesome sandwiches. The owner is one of the Kindest humans I have ever met and he runs a clean well managed and staffed Firehouse Sub Store. We are lucky to have a shop like this locally.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was located in a shopping center and relatively expensive; so definitely not good value for money. We had a medium sandwich ($13.50 each), and my niece added 1 small bag of chips, and 1 beverage and it was over $35. The sandwiches were good, but think I'd rather pick up sandwiches at Globe Delicatessen and drive to the park or beach... not sure I'd go back, but if you're not concerned about the cost, try it.

First time at this place. The bread was so soft, and fresh. I enjoyed my sandwich. The place was very clean, the worker was very friendly.

The second time in this place. I think they have the best roast beef in all the fast food places. Doesn’t have that silver skin on it. Just rare-ish, perfectly cooked roast beef like I remember from when I was younger. Delicious!!

I always love going to Firehouse Subs because the ingredients to so fresh in the bread is so yummy. While I can appreciate all of the detailing a put into Every Sandwich I wish they had different packaging because it seems excessive having a cardboard container for the sandwich a paper inside and putting it all inside of a large paper bag. While it might look nice I don't think it's very good for the environment. But this Firehouse Subs was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly.

Subs are really good and prices reasonable...staff however shouldn't assume everybody knows how the ordering process works. This was our first time here and order clerk seemed impatient with us. Too bad...otherwise decent place.

My wife swears by this place so I met her for lunch, giving it a second chance. First time i was so unimpressed by the meat to bun ratio. Fast forward over a year and place is same. Meh sandwich. Was mostly bread. Which is decent but I like a sandwich with some heft. Especially over 10 bucks for a sandwich. Pickles taste good. Place is cold and not really inviting for eating in. Was eerily quiet when we ate there. People were friendly but dang, yall could put some more meat on those sammies!

Employees are talking to each other and taking forever to prepare sandwiches. There are only three customers waiting at the store.

I come to this location once or twice a week sometimes with my daughter when I pick her from school and the first time they didn't accept a $50 dollar bill and there's a new guy that told the sweet girl that no he can over ride but won't and said they take card which I don't have so had to go some where else to eat my order was $18 and some change like if I was order a five dollar meal so I ended up eating at the habit and they had no issue taking my money guess me and my daughter not going there to eat again

I recently visited Firehouse 👨‍🚒🚒 Subs at 2701 Harbor Blvd Ste D4, Costa Mesa, CA, and had a generally positive experience. The restaurant was clean 🧼, the food was delicious 😋, and the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine worked perfectly 🥤, offering a great variety of drink options. Stephanie, who assisted me, was professional and courteous, even though the situation was a bit challenging for her. I was there to take advantage of a promotional offer for a free medium sub with the purchase of a sub, chips, and a drink. While I bought chips, drinks, and a small sandwich, I was informed by the manager over the phone 📞 that I needed to buy a medium or larger sub to qualify for the offer. This detail wasn’t specified in the offer, and as an experienced couponer who reads the fine print, I felt a bit taken aback. Despite my calm and methodical approach, I ended up spending an additional $7 to meet the requirement. In the midst of it all, my order, which I had originally requested on wheat, ended up on white bread 🍞. Even though this hiccup happened, I want to highlight that the quality of the food and the overall experience was still great 👍. Stephanie handled everything with grace, and I appreciate her efforts. I would just suggest that the terms of promotional offers be made clearer to avoid any future confusion. Now, some critics might argue, “If you didn’t like the offer, you could have just left.” While that’s technically true, it’s important to consider both legal and practical aspects. Legally ⚖️, advertising a promotion creates a reasonable expectation for the consumer that the terms presented will be honored. This is a basic principle of consumer protection laws, which aim to prevent misleading and deceptive practices. Practically, once a customer has committed time and effort into visiting a location, especially with the intent of taking advantage of a specific offer, it’s not always straightforward to simply leave 🚶. This is especially true if the customer has already interacted with staff, placed an order, or is on a tight schedule. The purpose of promotional offers is to attract customers and create a positive experience, not to cause frustration or confusion 😕. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would recommend Firehouse Subs for its tasty food and clean environment. A little more transparency with promotions would make it perfect!

It's 830PM. Firehouse subs was not closed technically but the female employee told me they're only serving "cold sandwiches". The establishment is called firehouse subs...not cold subs. I walked in at 830 and the floors had already been mopped up and partially dried, which means they started cleaning around 815. If the store is open then they should be able to serve the food on the full menu and not a limited menu. Maybe just change the hours to 830 PM if that's when the store actually close instead of telling customers they can't order a hot sandwich. At 8:37 the female employee turned the OPEN sign off. The hours on the window say 9PM. At least she gave me an option for cold sandwiches but that's not why I come to fire house subs. I could go anywhere for a cold sub. I'm not sorry I walked in during your working hours to order something off the regular menu. Sure are getting that minimum wage worth when you close up an hour early hunh? Thanks for letting me know not to come to this fire house subs cause the employees are lazy even though they get paid $20 a hr.

Usually I would give this place five stars but I just went in and had a less than average experience. I wasn’t greeted as I walked in, which is kind of awkward. They looked up at me and averted their eyes. Then when I walked up to the register, I stood there for a minute before a female employee came up to me. She didn’t say a word, not even a “hello” or “what can I get for you today”. That’s customer service 101. The lady behind me had complained that her sandwich wasn’t correct. And once I got home, I realized they had put tomato on my sandwich when I had expressed to them that I was allergic. Really disappointing. It’s such a shame because I love the food and it’s a great way to support our local heros. Honestly, I’ll never stop coming here but my experience today sucked and I just hope it’s something that can (and should) be addressed

AVOID EATING AT THIS LOCATION!!! I went into this location on December 26, 2024 for a LARGE Engineer on whole wheat. No tomatoes. No onions. Extra mayo. I made it a combo with chips and a drink. I paid cash. I didn't keep the receipt. They made the sub without the extra mayo and put onions on my sandwich. I have Crohn's disease and CANNOT eat onions. I returned the next day and spoke with the GM Julian Barras who REFUSED to remake the sub bc he couldn't find a digital imprint of my transaction and then accused me of trying to "scam" the restaurant out of a $20 sub. Seriously?!? Avoid at all costs!!!
