Ce que disent les clients de Moulin
Moulin is a French cafe known for its authentic pastries and coffee, often compared to cafes in France. Customers rave about the croissants, mille-feuille, and other pastries. Some find the sandwiches lacking in meat and service inconsistent.

Delicious ! Fresh authentic French pastries,sandwiches and coffee drinks-whats not to like! The staff is so helpful and friendly too! . . . . #moulin #pastries #frenchpastries #frenchfood #ocsocomix #socomix #quarentinecruise #ocandthesocomix
Moulin is the most perfect French cafe experience. I had Quiche Lorraine and French Onion Soup. Both dishes were spectacularly delicious! Then I visited the bakery counter for a delicious treat. Amazingly delicious, wonderfully creative meals in a quaint French cafe setting. I'm a visitor who had to return home, but I can't wait to return to Moulin! It's perfect!
I enjoy the great variety of French pastries. Try their petit pain au chocolat!
A little piece of France in Costa Mesa. This is a small stop but still delicious for an authentic French coffee break. For full Moulin experience go to main location.
I totally enjoyed these pastries, they're the best, perfect amount of sweetness and a great combination with caramel. Also the orange juice was amazing! 🧡🏵️🍊
While driving around i needed some treats for my nieces 19th birthday I always rely on Yelp just like most of us well at least my family does I was near moulin I was browsing through the pictures and I said to myself why not it looks good but will it taste good? As I walked inside the place it’s beautiful staff is working etc there were a few customers coming behind me I tried to explain to the lady trying to help me it was my first time and everything look really good it was going to be hard to choose what I wanted but she could berely explain herself in English she had a heavy accent but that’s ok I just told her 1 of each please she filled to boxes of treats as I got home everyone loved them I wanted to say thank u ,your desserts look and taste finger licking good you can tell every design on every pastry look so beautiful it’s pretty pricy But they are worth it .
A little french patisserie with really good pastries. Perfect place to start the morning!

I have been here twice now. The proprietor is very charming and will let you know the ingredients of items you’re unfamiliar with. Delicious food. Large seating area outside tables and chairs with umbrellas.
In town for an early meeting, only thing open and wow what a pleasant surprise. Coffee was great, pate sandwich better than I can usually find. Pastries looked amazing.
The MOST Authentic French food in California! Ingredients are sourced from France. Close your eyes and you’ll think you’re in a cafe on the Champs Elysees!

Great little French restaurant. I tried the croissants - perfect amount of butter and flakiness. They were out of baguettes and chocolate eclairs so I tried the coffee eclair. The pastry was good and the filling was not too sweet. Brought me back to Paris - especially with the live music!
Perfection every single time.love the variety.there is no bakeries again that come even close to the quality and craftmanship of this place.truly unique .Finally TRUE french pastrie that taste just like the one in france and haven t been fused with anything .not as fancy as the newport location but cute and cozy. This is authentic you will not find better pastries in oc or inland.while the ham cheese baguette was a 1/10 , the vienoiseries were meh 5/10 ,the pastries are out of this word 10/10. I havent been able to find this quality even in LA . They pay attention to every detail . Im beyond picky and these made me almost wanna cry as it taste just like if you walked in a bakery in paris . The only down side is the insanely outrageous price point 15$ for a sandwish you can easily make at home 4-5 $ for vienoiserie ( you can buy a dozen at costco for that price) , 7$ for ONE crepe ( lmao , they could cut that price in half and still make a huge profit) and 8$ for one cake . For two people you will easily spend 50-60 if you add coffee on top .the location itself is small with limited selection but cute . My other down side was that there is NO HEATER OUTSIDE . Its attrociously cold early morning in winter maybe thats something they could invest into seeing how grossly overpriced everything is .overall come here for the pastries skip the sandwishes grossly overpriced which is a huge turn off . Its good for a special event or bday but not something you can go daily to pick up vienoiserie and baguette like you would in france ( as it cost more than double what u would pay in europe). They refresh their selection the pastries are pretty seasonal it wont be the same ones everytime you go back ( which is fun) . My tumbs up to the patissier for making incredible master piece pastries in US .the pastries are endlessly changing which is fun
At Moulin, I ordered the almond croissant, Mille-feuille, and a cappuccino. The croissant was 5/5! Very airy and crispy with a good amount of almond filling. The Mille-feuille cream filling was too sweet for my liking but the pastry part was very crispy and nice. The cappuccino came with a little piece of dark chocolate which was a sweet touch. This cafe is sort of hidden in a small outdoor plaza with a number of home decor stores, a couple restaurants, and little shops amongst a business area. I like the location as it's not crowded and has a number of outdoor seating, there was a live performer on the Saturday I went too! There is plenty of parking.
Prefer this location over the one in Newport Beach. It's less crowded and zany but has most of the same pastries/salads/sandwiches. I enjoy the croissants and baguettes - they're reliably good. The tuna nicoise salad is also a winner. The only downside is that this location is closed on Mon and Tuesdays. ETA: They're now open throughout the week!

The cakes and tarts are great, but unfortunately they don't have an oven and don't heat up their croissants! Which is a bummer because cold and stale aren't the best. But other pastries like mille feuille and lemon tart were incredible. Best mille feuille I've had in OC! There's no place to sit inside the cafe, but you can take your food and pastries to the general complex with portola etc, and there's lots of open seating spaces there

Not a good value lunch compared to other locations. There was much less meat in the sandwiches than other MOULINs I have eaten at. The chicken pesto sandwich was about one slice of chicken thick, so I don't recommend ordering lunch here if you want to be full. The quality is amazing and it tasted wonderful, but it doesn't feel worth the price. Try a different MOULIN location. The chocolate croissant was good but somehow smaller than I remember it being? And there was a patch in the middle with no chocolate, not sure how that works since it's a baton.

This bakery is just average, nothing special. I was there to try the almond croissant, I asked them to heat it up for me so I can have it there, they said they do not have an oven. Interesting, what kind of bakery does not have an oven? Anyhow, I had to take it home to finally taste it. It was just average, nothing special, I will not be back, there are better places out there, heck, they may even have an oven.

Jeremy blew it for your business. We spent over $100 on food desert. 4 omelets . The food is great but the service we received from Jeremy was just simply rude. I asked for once slice of lemon 🍋 and the answer was No! He said that your entire cafe doesn’t have one slice of lemon for my water and my salad. He had a nasty face attitude. Please take this feedback seriously. Service is everything.

We ordered a pastry. When we asked them to cut it in half for the elderly couple I was with they refused. Our only option they suggested was we cut it with a plastic knife, which would’ve destroyed it. When I insisted they please cut it with a proper metal knife they refused us service. When we are in Paris, they are polite about this and have no issue. There is a reason why all of our French friends avoid this place. They will continue to do very well selling inauthentic pastries to Americans, who don’t know better in Orange County, California The owner will reply with some cynical dismissive comment. Guaranteed.
I got the chicken pesto sandwich and it barely had any chicken. The pesto sauce was good but one side had no cheese and hardly any chicken! One of the employees was very helpful by showing where to get water while one was not helpful in answering my questions about food.
" Triple the price & Half as nice " Vietnamese " Banh Mi " ( sandwich ) make the same bread; " Baguette " far less priced than this. They use twice what this place does. It taste the same but your wallet will enjoy the experience. Way over priced. As someone else said, Bristol has better offerings for the same price. Small Ham Half Bread One Pastry = 30 bucks.
