La Palapa is an excellent place. Mauricio and his family are great people. I felt truly cared for in their presence. If you like good food and incredible salsa you should go here. They were kind enough to prepare vegan burritos for my wife and I. Ten out of ten. Ask for the vegan tacos with vegetables.
Great Mexican food, delicious. Very busy, but solo waitress was efficient.
Best Mexican restaurant in town! Friendly and fast service. Ive been going here since 2010 and everything I've eaten at La Palapa has been fantastic. Fish tacos are great, chicken is juicy and flavorful, tortas are the best around. And their chips and salsa are to die for!!!!!
La Palapa has a taste of homemade food. Every employee is attentive and friendly. We dont feel like customers but more like friends from our first visit years ago to the one tonight. FYI my kids really enjoy the "well behaved kids menu" .
The restaurant was clean, friendly staff, took my order quickly and my food was ready fast. The burrito was full of meat, rice and beans. Excellent food and service
Picked up deliveries for this restaurant, customer ordered items that were sold out and no longer available but took the time with me to reach out and make it right. So we got the customer a new order changed pricing, gave discount and brought it to them fresh even if a little late due to protein shortages. They're kind, speedy, and efficient. Sanitizing surfaces, keeping social distancing between patrons, and following CDC guidelines.
One of my favorite places, excellent service and very reasonable prices, great staff
La Palapa is our go to for great Mexican food without breaking the bank. Their meats are top-notch. Their service is EXTREMELY friendly. And if you call to pick up, they are always accurate on pick up time. One of our favorites is their chimichanga. They do it right. They have great daily specials and a "terminator" burrito that is essentially a mixed fajita plate in a HUGE tortilla. Its a steak at around 10 bucks and will be more than enough for today's dinner and tomorrow's lunch. Actually, I may get one for football today, haha.
Best place to get the carnitas plate! Never had issues with La Palapa, they always come by and re fill your drink, and check on you to see how your food is, fresh tortillas, quality freshness in everything! Don’t let the outside fool you, it’s all about the food inside! Awesome customer service!
I had a glass of Sangria that was decent. They serve chips with salsa and refried beans. The salsa was really good with a lot of taste. The wait staff was on top of things and brought us a 2nd serving of chips and salsa when we ran out. My family had a soft taco/relleno combo, shredded chicken nachos and grilled chicken quesadilla. The grilled chicken was spiced nicely. They serve the plates with a decent amount of guacamole which I really enjoyed along with the amount of food, too. We actually took leftovers home with us. We will definitely be back!
Heard about this place so I thought I'd give it a try. I am glad I did!!! I have to admit, I went there with a $5.50 burrito of the day in mind but is only offered Monday - Friday. So I opted to get the super burrito with el pastor. It was great and for under $10 buck it was loaded with guacamole, cheese, beans, rice and meat. I would also like to note they dont just fill the burrito up with fillers such as rice and beans. Its porportioned well. So to the lady who said " Hope to you like your burrito and hope to see you soon". Believe me you will!!!! Thanks again......and see you on an empty stomach.
This place is always amazing! I’m very picky with my chicken and their grilled chicken tacos are always so delicious. They’re very nice and always get my order correct- even through DoorDash. One of the best places in Rosa
Wonderful small family run place producing the BEST PAPUSAS you have ever tasted. Make sure to ask for the shredded cabbage to put on top and the sauce. Stay hungry my friends.
I have been going here for Mexican food for a little over a year now since it is so close to my new residence. Food has always been great and very competitively priced for the quality. Everyone is always so nice as well. This is a good place to get good Mexican food. Portions are generous too.
My all time favorite Mexican food. Never had a bad meal and I’ve eaten there at least 30 times. The owners are lovely people and always happy to see you. I highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed 😁
My absolute favorite spot for Mexican food. Delicious Al Pastor and their enchilada sauce is fantastic. Mix their refried beans with their spicy salsa. I've eaten most of the menu and it's all good. You can't go wrong here.
When I come to Santa Rosa, I have to stop by my favorite restaurant, La Palapa. The flavor and service are always excellent. I love all the food, everything is my favorite.
AWESOME service, AWESOME FOOD and great sounds of Mana, Shakira, Soda Stereo in the background! Been coming here for years and the food is always great! Tried the La Palapa wrap and what a great combo of ingredients! I LOVED it! Got it with carnitas! Super tasty! We all enjoyed!!
Very friendly staff and amazing food. Best horchatas around and the Terminator burrito is excellent...and it's good for like 3 meals or to share with someone. Still amazing every time I go back also. Man, I love this place! Truly, one of the first things I look forward to everytime I come back to Santa Rosa 🌹❤️🌯
Breakfast Burritos 🌯 w/ potatoes 🥔!!! First time I’ve had the breakfast and it was AMAZING!!!! Plus, the chef came out & gave me the spicy 🌶️ hot sauce. Though HOT, it’s super good & made the experience even better!. Highly suggest.
I enioyed the place. Really good food and drinks! My favorite were the enchiladas and the tamarind drink
I overestimated my spice tolerance and the hostess graciously remade my torta. It is a quiet place. You can request to watch TV. The ambient music is a great with conversation and the sounds of cooking in the kitchen. There's indoor and outdoor seating. This my new go-to lunch place when I am in the area.
Great food!!! You get Bean deep, salsa and chips to start your meal and coronas are $2 on Friday. My shrimp taco was delicious and the enchilada too!!!!

Very friendly owners and the food is excellent. There's nothing like this salsa in all of Sonoma County.
Someone talked about being seated at the bar and the band was too loud. He had taken on a little too much Tequila. They have no bar, there is no band, and they do not take reservations. This is a very small place, and perfect for a date! Great food! Wonderful people! Excellent service! Most of the business is carry-out.
Mulitas are fantastic! Been eating then since they were$2.00 a piece. Shredded chicken was the best, and make sure to ask for fresh jalapenos inside. They used to have them standard. Maybe they left them off cause they thought I couldn't handle the spice. Either way when I asked for some peppers they gave me a bowl of perfectly grilled and fresh jalapenos. Really like this place.
Burritos are excellent. Always fresh. Family owned. We are regulars and they treat us like family. Great place!

Found this place by accident on my way and I'm glad I did. The staff here are friendly and fast, the menu is inexpensive, the order turn out is quick, and the food is good - authentic with a Cali spin. It's a nice place for a quick meal or satisfying cravings for Mexican food.
Great place to eat. Service is good. Has outdoor seating. Food is delicious especially if you like mocajetes. They have the best margarita you will ever try. Highly recommend La Palapa for great Mexican food.
Never disappoints me. Had me some tacos, very filling and tasty. The have a very full menu with very reasonable prices. There burittos are stuffed. And make great a margarita.
The regular burrito with carnitas was tasty, a good size and not too expensive at $7.99. I also got an horchata, but it was watery and tasted off. I usually suck horchata down but I couldn't drink even half of it. Perhaps it was just a fluke since others have complimented it.
Overall, we really enjoyed our meal here! The service was friendly and efficient, and the decor and atmosphere were pleasant. The food was flavorful, though my burrito needed a little sauce to spice things up a bit. That said, the mole style sauce was excellent and really cranked up the flavor of the burrito… which was massive! We both really enjoyed the mulitas as well. Reminiscent of a quesadilla made from tostadas. We’ll be back!

I like the building this restaurant occupied, and how the parking lot is set up. The food was good, service not so good. It was slow, and the waitress didn't check up on us enough, and I ran out of water, which was never refilled from the start.
This is a fun, lively neighborhood taqueria. A stalwart fixture and well supported by the community. 5 stars all around, except for my burrito. I ordered the Regular Burrito with Chile Verde, and it was just a little bland. Next time I'll order the super burrito with sour cream, guacamole, cheese, and Pico de Gallo. Thats the flavor "pop" my burrito was missing. My bad. By tge way, my companions thoroughly enjoyed their meals.

Nice little restaurant but the food not so good. They have only one kind of sauce it seems like, it’s too sweet especially for a Chile relleno and that was not even made very well. Went there one other time for a wet burrito and this was the same sauce which I didn’t like. Was hoping it would be different on this relleno.
Well we got the burrito at the day super-sized - 6.50 and I had a $2 Corona beer, my kid ordered a soda. We got the meal pretty quickly --there wasn't enough chicken personally in my burrito it was mostly rice and beans. 22.50 (I thought she overcharged me--she said she'd look into it never got back to me) However, I'd go back again try something different...
Pros: Fast Not busy Plenty of parking Large portions Cons: Poor menu layout Average Taste Lack of attention to detail We started off looking for tamales and, got a wrong order. I would have over looked it but, after saying our order was wrong they told us it was right. Then came back later and said that no it was wrong and did nothing about it.
The chips that we got we're super salty usally not like that...don't get ground beef its has no seasons just bland... i got nachos this time 11 bucks its was pretty small plate. I think the grill chicken is the best meat overall had the alpastor its ok had better...the shredded chicken is good....all in all is ok place to eat.
Update: Wow! This place had done a total 180⁰ !! I can now call this a hidden gem!! The food here now is delicious, fresh, high quality and generous portions! The tortillas are definitely homemade as well -- fresh and delicious! I believe a new family maybe running this business now? Both times we went there, there was only one server. Her service was friendly, attentive and good.

Burrito was all filler. 80% beans, no meat. Hardly any rice even. Pretty pricey too. It was okay in a pinch, but you can tell theyre cutting corners
My wife and I have been coming to this place for more than 5 years consistently as it's been one of our favorite Mexican places in Santa Rosa. We love the refried beans they serve with the chips and salsa, and the food has always been really great. However last evening will be our last trip there unless serious changes are made in their kitchen. It's been maybe a month or two since we last visited, and it's clear they have new kitchen staff. We heard the tell-tale sign of a microwave beeping, plates hitting the glass bottom of the microwave, and the obvious microwave door slamming shut consistently throughout our dinner. I could forgive this if the food they presented was at all edible, but it was some of the worst food I've ever eaten, and I've eaten some spectacularly horrible dinners as a fraternity pledge in college. The refried beans were flavorless, no salt, and worse than the Rosarita refried beans we buy at Costco. The proteins (I had shredded chicken, wife had carne asada) were also flavorless, without salt, and dry and tough. The one hostess they had working the phones, register, online orders, and bussing all the tables ignored us for over 10 minutes while tending to another table twice, and taking some walk-in orders too. I could honestly forgive the weak service if the food had at all been edible. It's sad to see one of our places we loved so much fall off the map this hard, but it's clear whatever changes were made in their kitchen were not for the best. Eat at your own risk until kitchen staff changes are made.
Overpriced for the small amount of food you get. Website menu and prices are not updated. I ordered takeout. Chilie relleno and chicken enchilada plate. Portion of rice was much less than portion of beans. They did not include utensils and napkins. Chile relleno and chicken enchilada were bland. No authentic Mexican flavor. I will not return to this restaurant

I would not spend my money here again.... I ordered super nachos and for starters they charged me almost 10 bucks just for the nachos and guess what? When I opened the box for starters the quantity of food they gave me was pathetic it was not worth the 10 bucks.....The box was practically empty I was shocked, usually when I order super nachos anywhere else they pack that box up and I usually get two meals out of one so this was disappointing. Also there was no flavor, the meat was dry and some burnt and the salsa sucked. Honestly I won't ever go back......
I have ordered pupusas here twice and both times have been horrible! First time, I thought, maybe the person who cooked them was having a bad day, I'll give them a second chance. Second time it was the same horrible thing. Never coming back and you shouldn't either.
A very rude customer completely unprovoked started verbally harassing and yelling at my girlfriend on our way into the restaurant, driving her to tears. Staff refused to do anything regarding the situation, stating that she was a 'paying customer' and couldn't be told to leave (despite the fact that she had already finished eating and was just sitting there drinking). Completely ridiculous that a restaurant would cater to the needs of some angry old drunk lady over potential customers. This video was taken on our way out, she acted like this the whole time we were there. Definitely never coming here again.

12/3/25: Ordered pork tamale to go. Went straight home (3 min drive) it was so hard it would not cut through with a knife, serrated, or otherwise. The bottom of it was literally like a brick (un- eatable). There was a tiny bag included with FIVE chips and a tiny salsa. I was nauseous an hour afterward. Not full-on but it was the only thing I had eaten that day so... first and last stop for me
