Faro Blanco

It's a restaurant with the perfect atmosphere to enjoy dinner with your partner or close friends. The staff was excellent a very attentive. Every dish we tried was a perfect combination of flavors, from the cheese bread to the dessert. If you're staying at the Hotel Presidente in Cozumel, you should definitely eat at this restaurant; it's the best of the four available. We ordered the crab rolls, the zarandeado mahi-mahi, and the shrimp risotto. We enjoyed every minute, we were even the last to leave and they let us carry our coffee to the end in their cups. Si te alojas en el Hotel Presidente de Cozumel, sin duda deberías comer en este restaurante; es el mejor de los cuatro disponibles. Nosotros ordenamos “Rollos de cangrejo” “Mahi Mahi Zarandeado” y “Risotto de camarón”.

Excellent restaraunt. Service was spot on. For dinner I had the red snapper and it was delicious with a crust on the outside and moist on the inside. I also had the scallop carpacio. It was dressed with fennel lightly and oil on top. I actually enjoyed the finesse to the dish and how the scallop was treated, that being said I probably would not order it again as a personal preference. The ambiance is killer and this is a great place to watch a sunset!

This is a real treat! The food is excellent and on par with any fine dining restaurant. Service was excellent. It can be a bit pricey but it's worth every penny.

Excelente todo! Pedimos unos mejillones al curry rojo, risotto con camarones y cangrejo, robalo chileno al coco y mango y fettuccine con langosta. Todo increíble. Recomendamos muchísimo por la comida, el servicio, todo.

Un hermoso restaurante de los de Intercontinental. Tiene excelentes opciones y una gran variedad de vino. Ofeece comida principalmente francesa y de mariscos. Muy rico, sabroso para el paladar y tiene un ambiente muy sofisticado. La variedad de postres es poca, pero deliciosa. Solo se asiste bajo reserva.

Excelente restaurante, pedimos una pesca del día que era mahi mahi zarandeado y ya no había, en sustitución nos lo dieron en salsa Cajun y estaba increible, aderezo con muchos sabores sin que se pierda el sabor del pescado. También es muy recomendable el ceviche con leche de tigre. Tienen una amplia selección de vinos

Un lugar super especial podría decir el mejor restaurante de la isla, desde la comida, la admosfera y la atención. No olvides pedir el chesse cake de banana. Y pregunta x un chico llamado Luca es el Sommelier atento y buenas recomendaciones

I’ve dined at this restaurant around six times over three visits to the resort, and it has been exceptional every single time — from the food to the service to the atmosphere. The lobster fettuccine is my favorite pasta dish anywhere. On my most recent visit, I tried the Mexican seabass (lubina), and it was the most flavorful fish I’ve ever had. Even the small bites they start you with are unbelievably tasty. Looking forward to coming back every time.

Everything about Faro Blanco was just excellent: ambience, food, service. We felt relaxed and comfortable. The service was professional, but not obseqious. The food was great. We appreciated having a bigger seafood selection than the other places at the Presidente (this was our first trip to Cozumel, and we found it strange that there weren't more high end local seafood options in the area). We were ready to enjoy ourselves after a decidedly mediocre experience next door at the Italian place (Alfredo di Roma).

Faro Blanco and Alfredo Di Roma Trattoria are the two high-end restaurants of the InterContinental Presidente Hotel. Both share the same kitchen, and while having separate wait-staff and menus, are - for all practical purposes - the same restaurant. Both are excellent; especially the staff. In my opinion, at any restaurant in the world, it’s always best to eat the type of food which is known to the chefs AND is caught or raised as close to the restaurant as practical (reminder: Cozumel is an Island off the Yucatan Peninsula). It’s pretty safe to say that most of the chefs in Cozumel have never been to Italy, Thailand, or China and the ingredients for Italian, Thai, and Chinese cuisine are not “native” (Pasta Trees and Roma Tomato Plants don’t do well here). So, my recommendation is to order the Mexican/Yucatan “themed” dishes. The prices are expensive (as at any high-end resort on an island) but if you separate the food from the drinks, I think you’ll find the following to be true: 1) the food at the InterContinental restaurants is (say) 10-15% higher than a comparable downtown restaurant; 2) the drinks are 20-25% higher. Note: wine (my personal preference) is very expensive all over the island. If you’ve never had Mexican wine, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how good it is, and the prices are lower than comparable imported wine. Recommendation for Faro Blanco and Alfredo Di Roma Trattoria, desert: Tres Leches Con Coco. You don’t like coconut? Me either; but this was perfectly balanced with a very light coconut sauce. Try this: order a shot of Xtabentún, ice on the side. Take 1/3rd ( + / - ) of the Xtabentún and pour it into the Leches cake dish (into the coconut sauce). Outstanding! Drink the remaining Xtabentún with a piece of ice in your mouth.

We had a wonderful meal at Faro Blanco! I don’t know what these negative reviews are all about with the service, because we had an amazing experience with our waitstaff. Will return! Great way to end the day sitting on the balcony watching the sun set. Beautiful ambiance inside too.

The pad Thai is great, same with the vegetarian wontons and crab rolls. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Awesome wine list!! We have eaten there twice already (the second time at our 6 year olds request), and will likely eat there at least once more before we leave.

The best meal we had in Mexico! Impeccable service, inviting & relaxing atmosphere. There were five of us...we all raved about our dinners & desserts. The gorgeous view at sunset was the icing on the cake.

This is a tiny restaurant within the Intercontinental Presidente featuring a variety of seafood dishes. Service was excellent and all the dishes and drinks were very good. The food has a bit of a modern twist but not too creative (in a good way). I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to visit the restaurant but it is definitely worth visiting while staying at the hotel.

They are ok, but they should make room for improvement of their food and their service.

I will start out by saying that the service was top notch! The food was okay. The smoked beef carpaccio was delicious! Not very much beef, mostly shredded sweet potato, but it was fantastic! The octopus I ordered came out overcooked, but it was remade for me and much better the second time although a little lackluster. The pad Thai was meh. Not much flavor or spice. The dessert we ordered had red berries, a "foam", and the hardest, most flavorless brownie bites I have ever tasted. The menu described them as "croutons", and that should have been a red flag. But that being said, it was a very special occasion, and the wait staff did an amazing job paying attention to every detail!

I am a resident of Cozumel living in a gated cummunity a couple miles down the road. I wanted to make dinner reservations at the Faro Blanco for 8 people for a special occasion dinner. But first I wanted to actually see the restaurant and set up some thing like certain champagne etc. The guard wouldn't allow me to enter. So, they will never see or hear from me; too bad, because they are the closest high end restaurant to my casa.

Restaurant IS NOT open to the public. Only hotel guests.

Very slow service. No fine cusine, low quality meals.

Tonight they lost my reservation and would not seat us after trying to blame it on the concierge. Also lighting is too much, feels like an operation room. Not intimate. Went to Guidos instead which is much better.

Atmosphere is pleasant, staff is exceptional, wine list plentiful. The quality of the food we received was an abomination, As a man who has paid for dozens of 5 star restaurant meals, resort food, fast food, food trucks, octopus served out of the back seat of a van, this was the most disappointing meal I’ve ever paid for. Crab rolls, seafood risotto, mahi mahi, all bland, dry, and we had to laugh as we forced our way through the meal. Never to return. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
