Cute neighborhoid spot with great ice cream, coffee drinks and snacks. Comfy seating inside and out. Pleasant staff, relaxed atmosphere.
I felt in love with this place! From the ice cream to the toast and the coffee everything here is so delicious. I also love the fact that it's located close to home and a place my kids can enjoy. 👍🏽
This place is great! They have the best chai latte I’ve ever tasted and staff is always super friendly. Truly a gem in my neighborhood.
Smooth ice cream, creative decor, friendly service, and amazing locally roasted coffee. Crema just opened and is already one of my favorite coffee/dessert spots in Jersey City. Can't wait to come back!
Very chilled atmosphere and super friendly staff and excellent food and coffee. Amazing addition to Jersey City and the best part is, its kid friendly (they have an area just for kids and play with great toys to keep the little ones busy.)
Rema is a cozy place in New Jersey where you will fine a friendly staff, great icecream, fantastic and original sandwiches, and seasonal food. Don't miss the soups, are remarkable.
They make my coffee perfect every time!!! Lovely people, food feels like it’s being cooked at home.
A lovely little Breakfast and brunch place in Journal Square. It's a small but very well laid out space with delicious selections.
This is such a cute coffee and dessert cafe in the neighborhood. They serve pastries and ice cream too. They use fresh and quality ingredients and ambiance is cozy and family friendly.
Very cute cafe. The seitan al pastor empanada, which is vegan, is yummy. You can also get oat milk in your lattes and coffees. Definitely recommend.
Incredible spot. If you're in that section of JC, you owe it to yourself to drop in. The avocado toast is inspired in its profile of flavor, and the coffee is better than anything else in the area.
Every cup of coffee has been good. I have always taken it to go. The croissant sandwich with ham and cheese is delicious.
In our neighborhood, I would say that Crema is one of the nicest places to go and get coffee. Everything is delicious there, just the service is little poor.
Great coffee, salad, toastees & ice cream. Owners are super sweet & nice. Plus there is a play area, & changing tables for your little ones.
Crema is the most comfortable place to have a freshly made coffee and something baked with love as the first ingredient. Enjoyed best with a friend or with someone you are hoping will become a friend.
Cute coffee shop with great people. I always go here when I have meetings in town not just for their coffee, but also because it's a quite spot.
Very nice people, we enjoyed our breakfast, perfect start for a great day . Fresh homemade bread with fresh toppings
Love the kids play area. Ice cream is good, coffee is decent. We need more of these types of spots in our area!
Staff are so nice, coffee and food are great and they have outdoor seating on a relatively quiet and very beautiful block, which tempts me often as it's sometimes not possible to work from home all day.
The avocado toast is addicitive and the latte with oat milk is fantastic. I love the atmosphere in this cafe, and knowing that it is in my neighborhood.
Love everything here this is our first time and for sure gonna be our favorite coffee place for whole period
Our cold brews and croissant sandwiches were delicious. We will be back to try some sweets. Service was quick and friendly as well!
Absolutely love Crema, such a great homey environment, breathable nice sized space to come grab a great small bite, or nice hot latte. Fredrico and Mariana ( brother and sister) are passionate attentive and hardworking. I give this place ten stars go check it out
I love Crema! The ice cream (especially when you make it into a shake) is delicious! I also love their nutella coffee! And the toast is the perfect size and flavorful ❤ I love coming here on weekends
Everything from the coffee to toasts to sandwiches are perfect every time. Made to perfection. Açaí bowl is addictive. Family owned and proud— it shows on the plate, in the bowl, and in the coffee. Also— of course, great ice cream! Neighborhood gem!
What a nice and friendly Place. Great ice cream, but also really delicious open face sandwiches, croissants. Best BLT ever. Wonderful coffee, all the milks.
Loved the Latte, finally a great tasting coffee that's strong enough to wake me up. The ice cream is also delicious, they have vegan and gluten free ice cream/pastry options. Haven't tried their lunch options yet but this is a great place to sit with your laptop and get some work done or bring your kids and let them play in the kids corner
Excellent sat/sun breakfast. Eggs Benedict toast is a must have. Their ice cream is fresh and has variety of flavors worth having. The workers are always nice and accommodating. Portions are pretty good and at a fair price. Breakfast for this area is slim, so come here and you won't be disappointed.
I just ordered delivery from Crema. Let me tell you, that was the tastiest breakfast I've had in a long time. The food tasted super fresh, including the generous amounts of fresh Dill sprinkled on top of the salmon and cream cheese toast. I recommend adding eggs to the dish for protein overload. The cold brew coffee was pretty good too. I'll definitely be ordering from here again.
I literally live and have my home office right up the block from here! Really awesome mom and pop shop! They serve grass fed ice creams, toast dishes, pastries, and various coffees. I like the variety of ice cream, but have also enjoyed a couple of their toasts. My favorite so far is the salmon toast; however I am yet to try them all. The coffee is not too bad and is better than DD. I am bit more critical as I am a bit of a coffee snob. There is a small seating area inside and you are welcome to eat or drink outside with your dog. They are dog friendly, but you cannot bring them inside for obvious reasons. They are right in the corner of Duncan & Bergen Ave. Parking is a bit tricky but you may get lucky or may be able to double park for a quick pick-up! If you want to support a good local small business, look no further.
They have the best empanadas and carrot cake. Everything was fresh, the cake was moderately sweet and the order arrived well packed. It was my first time ordering from them but now it's one of my favorite places. Keep up the good work!
This place is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. The atmosphere is amazing and it’s kid friendly. They have a small area with toys where kids can play. The service is exceptional. I’m always greeted with a smile. The food is great quality! They don’t only serve coffee, they serve sweets, healthy sandwiches, and empanadas.
Nice local coffee place. A perfect blend of snacks that go with coffee. A kid friendly place. Relaxing interior. A barista who knows how to perfectly blend milk in my coffee. What better can I ask for .. love to go to this place always . A big thumbs up
My favorite coffee shop in Jersey City. I also love the food. The quiches and chicken tortilla soup are my favorite. The people who work there are so nice!
Emphasis on QUALITY! The best coffee you will ever have. Tasty and unique. A memorable experience from start to finish. These people love and care about coffee and it shows! You can feel and taste the passion they put into the business in every sip! Thank you!
Their empanadas are just wonderful. If you are used to the many greasy, fried empanadas you can find anywhere in Jersey City, try instead these baked Argentinian empanadas. Their varieties are just perfect: they have all kinds of empanadas, from vegan and vegetarian ones to those with ham, beef, and chicken. They are delicious and super consistent: I have been buying empanadas from this place for about two years and they have never disappointed me in any way. Their ice cream and croissants are also fabulous. And the family who owns the place and serves most of the time are very friendly and loving, so they make you feel good about supporting them. You can't go wrong with this place.
Not just an ice cream shop! Crema serves up great home made food like their gorgeous open faced toasts... with fresh thoughtful ingredients. The Eggs Benedict toast is awesome! Empanadas are Venezuelan style... super flaky with rich fillings. The soups are wonderful too... my fave is the tortilla soup. The grass fed Ice Cream is great with typical and some special flavors. Bonus... Crema also offers a couple of Non Dairy Coconut based options. I like traditional ice cream, but that coconut based dark chocolate has become a favorite... there's a chocolate explosion of flavor in every taste. The space is welcoming with a kids play area containing some great toddler and big kid toys, boardgames plus chalkboard. On the other side is the cafe area with a big storefront window providing natural light. It's a great spot to grab coffee, nice breakfast and borrow wifi to get some work done, meet a friend for a bite or casual weekend brunch. Come support a local resident family run gem, staff is friendly and accomodating.
Been enjoying this place a lot lately. I usually get a latte with one of their tasty croissants. Always get nice, friendly service. Looking forward to trying the other items on the menu.
Limited free street parking. On charming street. Accepts credit cards. 💳 Acai bowl had too much granola!!!🙅♀️ Iced chai turmeric latte and Macha latte were good. Loved the fresh dill on the salmon toast. Highly recommend the prosciutto.
Cute spot with warm vibes. Nice art everywhere. Friendly barista. Locals playing a board game. Clean bathroom. Pastries are delicious and the Caribbean mocha was excellent.
Went here every day for four days straight and loved every experience. There were lots of options and the food tasted amazing. Got the avocado toast with fried egg and their special white sauce drizzled on top. Also tried the Nutella croissant, chocolate brownie and chocolate cake and promise you won’t be disappointed!
Crema is my favorite place to go for lunch or a sweet treat! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Their food is great, I highly recommend their prosciutto toast and their waffles along with an iced bee sting latte. The atmosphere inside is cozy and they always have art from a local artist on display that they switch out every month or two. I’m always excited to see what new art is on the walls when I visit!
Crema is such a gem. Quiet artsy atmosphere with printing service available makes it a great place to get some work done. The drinks are so nice, and all of their pastries are hand made and delectable. Not to mention all of the staff/owners are so friendly, you always get great service. My favorite local coffee spot <3
My go-to place for anyone from out of town that's visiting and wants quality food and coffee at a good price. The place always smells incredible and the staff couldn't be friendlier. Yeah, it's nice to try new places but man does Crema make that difficult because it's always a great idea to come here.
My fiancé and I love this spot! The owners are the most adorable and welcoming people you will meet. Very relaxed ambiance without any snobbery and a corner view. Not your "in a rush" coffee shop. Our dog loves them as well 🐕
First time here Got the chagga latte, egg/cheese croissant & almond croissant Everything was great
A real neighborhood gem. They host a bunch of local events & artwork. Coffee and pastries are on point and the owner is incredibly nice.
I really like this cafe. It's warm, inviting, friendly, and I really like their bee sting coffee (mix of espresso and honey), their gelato, and peanut butter sandwiches. As a relative newcomer to Jersey City, it's been one of my favorite places to go to in the neighborhood.
The best place for breakfast. We had avocado toast and mozzarella. Portion are big , tasty, Family own business, both wife and husband are working hard , and the daughter help them . The bread is fantastic, it’s homemade in Italian style.
My go-to cafe! Great all around. I especially like the açaí bowls since it’s not a common find at cafes.
I LOVE Crema. It’s the best spot in the neighborhood & if you live around here you know we all needed a place like this! Me and my girlfriend come here all the time for their BLTs. They’re DELICIOUS. Even if you just need a coffee (I have mine with oat milk) and something sweet, this is your place. The toasts are amazing. The ice cream is so good & if you’re vegan there are options! Crema is for everyone, there’s even an area for kids to play. You can sit for an hour while drinking tea and get some work done. The prices are SO reasonable and affordable. The energy is great & if you’re looking for your spot this is it. You can’t not love it. Thank you guys for being so great!
Very cool cafe. The beef empanada was so flavorful as well as the dipping sauces. I had lemonade and it was sweet and sour just as I like. I'll be back to try the ice cream!
[FOOD/DRINK: 5/5] Nearly all of the baked goods are made by the staff and they consistently make great drinks. [SERVICE: 5/5] Staff is not only friendly, but they are actually friends with so many of the patrons. [VIBE: 5/5] It's the definition of a great community coffee shop where you can chat with the barista about local stuff, personal stuff, or just coffee stuff. They also continuously rotating their decor to promote local artists.
Amazing crossiants, Danish and matcha latte! not every place can make a good match matte but this place has it down. Love it so much
I love coming here! The staff is always very nice and accommodating. The vibe is great as well - very cozy, casual, and bright. I love their outdoor seating during the warmer months. Last time I stopped by for a matcha latte I didn’t want it fully sweetened and they were very accommodating about it - even yelled out “matcha latte kinda sweetened!” which made me laugh. Will keep coming back!
Local coffee shop run by friendly, neighborhood folks. Great food, great drinks and great atmosphere. They feature new works by local artists each month too. I highly recommend this place. One of my favorite spots in McGinley Square.
Love the vibe and art here! Good service and awesome waffles!
Cute lil neighborhood cafe with the world’s strongest drip coffee! Great sandwiches too!
Crema is a wonderful place to bring your friends and family. Anyone who's visiting will love delicious food, drinks, and other treats. Crema is a part of the neighborhood hosting and creating events where other get the opportunity to meet creatives.Their food and drinks they make are amazing. It's well worth it to try them out. I'm never disappointed.
Lovely staff, delicious pastries and sandwiches. I love their acai bowls especially. The space is always showing different local art, which is so cool! Great place to hang out.
Vibes = immaculate ✨ The food is beautiful and delicious. The cafecito is thoughtful and so yummy. The presentation of everything is beautiful. The atmosphere feels home-y with a staff that is extremely kind and friendly. The music playing has all the older Latine bops ready to go. I had such a great brunch experience!
Great drip coffee! I have been wanting to come here for awhile. This morning I was out of coffee at home and boy, have I been missing out on some really great coffee! Their coffee is the best I've had, way better than any of the places around (wonder bagel, dunkin, mcd, starbucks or any of the small coffee shops in Grove, which to me always taste stale or too weak). Crema's drip coffee is a delicious, nice rich medium blend, with nutty undertones. Fantastic for regular drip coffee, highly recommended. Nice amount of caffeine to give me the morning jolt I needed. Very friendly staff and I thank them for their friendliness, without caffeine I'm a zombie. 2 large black coffees cost $6(was about $5.35 but gave the change as a tip). Highly recommend this family run business. We need more places like this in this area. Please support them and stop by for a great cup of coffee, you won't regret it. Don't wait or hesitate like I did, you're really missing out if you don't try their coffee! If I could afford to buy coffee everyday, this would be my go to place. I will be back to try some pastries and homemade ice cream. (Went back and tried Pistachio mousse sponge cream cake, tiramisu, chocolate mousse and carrot cake. All were fresh/delicious and I highly recommend. They keep some in the freezer and it thaws out really well. $27 plus a crossaint and brownie. Next time ice cream).
Fantastic coffee and great snacks! The vibe is incredibly fun and laid-back. I highly recommend giving this place a try.
Great Cafe - Offers Coffee, HotChocolate, & wide variety of Hot n Cold beverages ! French croissants, Avocado Toast, Breakfast, Gourmet Sandwiches, Gluten Free options ..! Whether working from Laptop, or Just Sipping Coffee, DateNight or Just Chilling, 10/10 Place for Every Occasion…!
What an amazing experience at this locally owned cafe! Crema offers a variety of premium drinks hot and cold! Also, a variety of baked goods, gourmet sandwiches, hot plates, and even ice cream! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and offered great service! The inside is decorated with beautiful artwork and live plants. They are pet friendly and offer inside and outdoor seating. Come by and check them out!
This is a cute little café in Jersey City with beautiful artwork on the walls that gives it a cozy vibe. There’s even a printer available if you need to take prints, which makes it super convenient. I’ve visited this place many times affogato and pecan pie are my all time favorites! They also serve breakfast toasts and soups. It’s a perfect spot to relax grab a bite or get some work done
I stopped by Crema while exploring New York and really enjoyed the cozy café vibe. It’s the kind of place that feels relaxed and welcoming, perfect for a coffee break or a casual brunch. The coffee was smooth and well-made, and the food looked fresh and nicely presented. The staff were friendly, and the overall atmosphere made it easy to sit back and enjoy the moment. Definitely a charming little café worth checking out.
Really friendly service, good vibes. Like the espresso and GF cookies. I recommend!
first time at this cafe and it's really cute! i loved the childrens' paintings on the walls..i ordered the carribean mocha and it's really sweet..maybe a bit too sweet for my liking..but i did enjoy the coconut flavor! chicken empanada tasted great. would recommend this place. the young guy making drinks was pretty nice..would def come back again. also gotta be careful going down the steps..i felt like if i was careless i could def trip&maybe hurt myself..i'm not getting any younger..wouldn't want to concuss!
A very cute place! There is an area for the kids to play in while you can relax with a coffee and a snack. I met a friend for coffee here and we both enjoyed both the coffee and the atmosphere! A must visit if you're in the vicinity!
I stopped by this little coffee shop one evening after work. It’s a small, charming roadside spot with a cozy vibe—just a handful of tables and chairs, but enough for a casual hangout or for folks working remotely. Beyond coffee, they also serve ice cream, baked treats, fresh sandwiches, and soups—perfect for a light refreshment. I ordered a regular drip coffee ( with cream) and a slice of what seemed like a coffee cake. The cake might’ve been gluten-free (which I didn’t realize at the time), and it turned out quite dense—not soft or spongy as I’d hoped. It also lacked sweetness, apart from a thin sugary crust on top. Not terrible, but nothing to rave about. The coffee itself was very basic—drinkable, but not particularly rich or flavorful. Service was a bit slow, but to be fair, only two staff members were handling both orders and prep, and the place was quite busy. Despite the wait, they remained polite and well-mannered, which I appreciated.
Very cute atmosphere. Loove the kid's area. We went for ice cream but they were quite simple and bland. We tried the chocolate and the cookie dough. For the price and taste, we are better off buying a carton of ice cream from a store.
it was mid at best. i ordered an egg and cheese on a bagel (after being told i couldn’t customize any of the sandwiches yet that’s a customization? i—) and i asked for salt and pepper. when i finally sat down to eat my sandwich, the bread was dry, not even toasted. the sandwich was over saturated with cheese and ofc… no flavor! none of the salt and pepper i asked for. also there were no napkins in the bag, granted i could’ve got them myself but i was a new customer and the person who helped me didn’t even point me to the napkins or anything, just called me when my order was done and handed it to me and that was it. disappointed after walking 15 minutes there to try the food based on the reviews.
There was nothing special about the service or the beverage. The beverage wasn't very good; I ordered the Matcha with Oat Milk which I usually enjoy elsewhere, but not here. It was just an "ok" experience, not "good" or "great". Also, it would be lovely if you reopen for inside dining, as it's still cold out, other places are. Hope this addresses your concern. P.S. turn on your messaging.
I'm never one to leave bad reviews, especially with small businesses in the food industry. Especially with such a highly rated cafe, I assumed any poor review is an off-day or unreasonable expectations. However, in my most recent visit I slipped on the stairs and injured both my head and finger. Indeed, there are signs outside and hand rails. Even without these precautions, I wouldn't have had any problem with the workers. However, the workers proceeded to laugh and talk about it, telling me there was a sign outside. Even as I proceeded to order, the workers giggled about the situation, while other patrons asked if I was alright. I couldn't even say anything to the workers out of embarrassment which they only prolonged asking if I needed help opening the door. I hope I'm not being unreasonable with this review, but I must emphasize how this unprofessionalism could have led to more issues (especially concerning a head injury). The food itself and the care with which they prepare a food is stellar, hence the stars. But I can't overlook how openly dismissive and degrading the entire visit was.
First time here. I noticed there are Colombian workers. I am also Colombian. Cool. The food is as expected. Other good things to note are that the AC is blasting and it’s hot out. Solid. There also seems to be a lot of local art and support which is great. Now, for the bad. I literally observed, 2 minutes ago, with my own two eyes, the working literally licking the outside of my plastic cup. Probably to see how the mixing was. Like, wut? I spell that sarcastically as it denotes the unsanitary practices and more importantly, the disbelief that comes from that. I also came with a friend who wanted to do some work. For added information which relates to the issue, he is an app developer for a company, so tech is his strong suit.he could not connect to the internet and told the employee. They proceeded to tell him to try again, turn it off and back on, saying that it should be working, and then after several “attempts” said it was working for everyone else. In all honesty, I was feeling frustration for him. In conclusion, crema feels like I am at a local coffee shops in pereira Colombia with JC prices. Despite having never seen witness someone lick my plastic cold brew cup, this is still a good local spot.
The Good news: clean public bathrooms (a rarity in the neighborhood) The Bad News: everything else... corporate prices for mediocre food and sloppy, careless service. I went here twice and can't recommend it.
You know what I used to go to this coffee shop and every single time I ask for something and they used to deliver it wrong. I love that taste I actually would love to support them, but I wanted something for Diamond and instead of denying the fact he just handed me out the takeout box, which is rude, me and my friend loved this place, but apparently goes to 0. Please consider this fact.
The server didn’t close the lid properly, and it spilled all over my hand. She didn’t even apologize, which felt pretty rude.
Absolutely. Horrible service. I’ve walked in two times and both times. The lady making the drinks has stared at me and continue doing what she’s doing. No, “hi. Good morning. Give me a moment. I’ll be right with you.” Or “Hi just give me a moment”. Just a blank Stair. I’ve waited up to 5 minutes. Just in place my order.. And the guy in the kitchen, same thing, just stares at me. But the phone will ring, and they will take that order. But again, I’ve stand there up to 5 minutes. Just waiting a place a simple order. Absolutely horrible. If you’re NOT WHITE, they won’t treat you, right.
Been there a few times and the coffee is consistently bad. Have tried regular cappuccino and seasonal such as PSL (they didn’t have pumpkin spice topping and pumpkin sauce tasted weird). Wouldn’t go just by their high ratings on google review
