An interesting experience eating in traditional spaces, in this case, a pleasant cabin high in the mountains. The atmosphere is very cozy. The tables are family-run, but there were no other customers when we were there. The food is tasty and breaks away from the constant rhythm of tacos-quesadillas-gorditas-tamales. The service is super cordial and friendly. I recommend a stop at this fonda to everyone who climbs Sierra Gorda.

It's a pleasure to eat at this place; the atmosphere, the service, and the food make for a great stop. I highly recommend the ribs with rice and beans, along with a glass of fresh apple juice, and the chiles borrachos with pulque are very good. Everything is very affordable.

The good: The cleanliness of the place. Average: Everything else. The seasoning isn't anything special, and they aren't very quick to serve. It's traditional, but it's also common. Given the way it's advertised (a flavor trail), I was expecting something different.

The food was disgusting. The beans were stale and filled with stones, cooked several days before, and the salsa was stinky and spoiled. Overall, the food was in very poor condition, and this isn't the first time we've eaten there. It certainly disappoints us even more every time we go there just because there aren't any other options. Terrible food, and very expensive too.
