Tanner's is a neighborhood gem that has some convenient parking in the immediate areas and a really relaxing vibe inside. On the weekends it's got just the right amount of people to feel like there's some activity but not nearly crowded enough to make things unpleasant. Seating is plentiful and comfortable for the amount of space on this corner lot. The staff is lovely; the coffee, just as much so. It's a great place to sit with a laptop for a few hours and soak in the ambiance while trying to be productive. One of my favorite places to go in this area.

This coffee shop is quiet, cozy, and has relatively good wifi. The prices here are very fair and while there were a handful of people there I was able to get a great spot to sit and work. I had a latte which was the perfect pick me up. The music was a reasonable volume and while I would consider it more of a working environment I'm sure during busier hours it's a great social spot.

Nice atmosphere! Friendly, professional staff. Update: started getting back here twice a week when in the area. Good coffee and desserts. Egg and cheese on a bagel tastes great. May have to wait but worth it. Give yourself a little extra time.

Love this coffee shop! Been coming here for a few years now and am always happy to slip inside and grab a coffee. Cool atmosphere with really interesting surfboards on the walls with paintings of greek gods on them. They look like they would be really fun to ride! The coffee is really strong and there are many good restaurants near by.

I finally had the time to stop by Tanner's coffee shop, on Sepulveda Blvd today. Always drive by in a rush. I had to order to go but so glad I stopped. Such a nice spot. I had a toasted egg bagel with cream cheese and blended chocolate drink with coffee (i know it's January but it's hot today)... both were absolutely awesome. I'll be back to try something else. The barista was very helpful and nice.

Good coffee. Good chess players, experienced a one of a kind experience when it comes to coffee and chess here in LA. LA needs more of these places. Hope to see you guys there. An absolute delight. Service was fast and friendly. Our drinks (tea and a white chocolate mocha) were the perfect warm but not tongue burning temperature. The drinks weren’t overly sweet, they hit the spot perfectly. There is also a small pastry section where things look homemade and probably pretty tasty. This would be a perfect 1st date spot.

I've been going here for a few years now so that alone should tell you how I feel about the place. Staff are stellar. Lots of large couches and enough wall sockets to service most electricity needs. Great smoothies. Nice coffee. It's worth a visit. You may get hooked.

Overall a great place to be and it’s in just the right neighborhood for everybody too stop by. It’s a block away from Culver Boulevard and Sepulveda Boulevard on Sepulveda.

They helped me with the choice by breaking the flavor down. When I got sucked into my writing and forgot to pick up the cup, the owner came down to my table to give it to me. They have a mini library from where you can choose books to read. They also have a bunch of 'blendeds' as they call it on the menu. Not sure what that is but seemed pretty popular just looking at the variety of choices in that category. Lots of chargers sprinkled around the wall and the seating intelligently ordered to be able to plug in easily. Easy to spend an afternoon here.

I had the hazelnut latte and I think that was the one of the best I’ve. Very nice environment with free WiFi and super friendly staffs. I will definitely swing by next time I’m in the area.

Chess LA

Tanners is the definition of the neighborhood coffee shop. Chess games are frequent here and can often get quite competitive. The Chess Club of Los Angeles meets here to run official USCF rated tournaments for all ages. Come by on a weekend between 12p-5p for unrated chess games, or after 5pm for USCF rated tournaments. If you want to play chess but don't feel ready for the tournaments, come by any other time and play one of the boards available inside the shop for patrons to play casually.

The services One customer at a time meaning that when an order was taken the order was made before the next order was taken. It was amazed a beautiful things to look at and reminiscent of the old days when you felt invited to sit and spend some time. I'm a book reader and I noticed books stacked available for reading. While we were there a customer brought in this beautiful dog and it was great to see that they were so animal friendly.

My first visit (randomly driving by) experience was a sufficiently good one to bring me back for a second visit today. I like the whole low-key book/chess/coffee/neighborhood vibe of this place. The counter person was again a pleasant soul. Ordered the coffee of the day, Italian, and a lemon bar. Both items were very very tasty and all that one would hope for. I'll be back in the future.

The counter person was again a pleasant soul. Ordered the coffee of the day, Italian, and a lemon bar. Both items were very very tasty and all that one would hope for. I'll be back in the future.

The place is usually too crowded to find a seat. Most of the customers athere spend a while with their laptops. The area is pleasant and the coffee is worth the wait! Great tat and flavors even if you're only looking for a herbal drink! The cafe has some card games and books to read through.

A pretty casual coffee shop with a fair assortment of coffees and baked goods. I just kept it simple and got an iced latte. Came in to do some remote work and Wi-Fi is strong. Ambience wise it’s laid back like a great uncles living room sort of vibe. Lots of people working on their laptops, chess tables, book shelves etc. They also had outdoor seating and bathrooms. People were sitting with their dogs at the outside tables. Street parking/metered parking nearby as well.

Service was nice and seemed like a good place to do work, however, the vanilla latte I ordered was too sweet and detracted from the coffee flavor

Coffee was good and sweet. Able to do good work there. Conversations with strangers there were nice. Overall, a nice place to enjoy coffee or tea and make random conversation with their patrons. Parking isn't great, but if you park further down the street into the neighborhood, parking over 1hr is available. Seating was nice and comfortable. Artistic seating layout.

I’ve gone here for years and love it. BUT, the current weekend crew needs to do bagels correctly. They are not supposed to be served with a tablespoon of cream cheese. No, that might be correct for butter. Slather on the cream cheese please, don’t be cheap. And, don’t cut the bagel in half like a sandwich, it should be two whole halves. I’m sure I speak for others with this critique. Other than that, it’s a pleasant experience going there.

Tanners has a nice, non hip coffee shop vibe with tables inside and out. It’s a great cafe to get some work done, read, Or meet up with friends. The only thing for me is I think it’s too expensive for the quality but when I’m choosing a cafe to work at I also know it’s kind of like paying rent for the seat I take up. Service is always friendly!

Found Tanner's Coffee Company doing a search on Google. It's a cute place. They made me a custom drink and it is very good.

Got some pastries, the flowerless chocolate cake was super sugary but the chocolate croissant was awesome. The service was great and it seems like a nice quiet place for coffee. I got a little disappointed with some of the responses to reviews though

Friendly local coffee shop The 3 star is solely based on the fact that they (owners) are having only one employee working duren morning shift ( I go between 7:30am-12) the employees are great but they need at least 2 people. It's fine if you are not on a time limit but heading to work can't wait 15-20 min for a coffee :(

I got an iced Hazelnut Latte. Coffee tasted great but I will definitely not return. There was only one person working at the counter and I sympathized with that so I waited for three people to get their order taken and drinks made before my turn. When it was my turn, the lady took my order went to the next two people and made their order before even starting mine. Either hire more staff or respect your customers time.

Really wanted to like this spot but it was extremely mid. They have an egg and cheese bagel on the menu and they served us an egg white and the smallest bit of cheese which was really underwhelming. They should say it’s an egg white … the smoothie we ordered wasn’t great either . Service was pretty poor as well

I come in here all the time and constantly tip. I prefer to support small businesses. The wait time is typically longer than other coffee shops which I always understood. It’s obviously understaffed. However this morning there was a longer line than usual. I don’t mind the wait. However I noticed what appeared to be the workers friend, got her order before me when I ordered prior. She as always doesn’t put the syrup so I always ask her to put it on after she hands it to me. I also didn’t get the right drink but she said I didn’t order it decafe. I am forgetful sometimes so I must’ve forgotten to mention decafe. I didn’t make a fuss about it. But when I asked about the girl behind me getting her order prior (she was extremely friendly with her and with me it’s like a flip switched automatically, and it’s not the first time that has happened) she explained it was quicker for her to do it that way. I guess have me wait longer cause “my drink takes longer” I never experienced that before so I questioned her more at some point she began to give me attitude boggling her head around while she spoke and raising her voice. so I turned around and walked away from the conversation while she continued to speak. It was clearly not going anywhere. No apologies. Only justifications and attitude for even questioning things. I tried to act like I didn’t know any better cause “she’s a barista”. It was evident she was annoyed for questioning her. She then told me have a good day bye in a very condescending tone while I was already walking away. She just wanted the last word. And basically was shouting while I was almost at the door. It’s not the gal with curly hair but the one with her hair tied up who looks like she’s constantly in a bad mood. Though I understand I may not understand the situation as to why she served the other customer before me when I was already waiting over 10 minutes. She could’ve handled the situation differently. It was no excuse to talk to me the way she did.

Was excited to try coffee here and was disappointed because the coffee had such a strong unpleasant aftertaste and an old tasting flavor. Would not recommend.
