I’ve been dying to try this since my last trip to NYC, so any excuse for pasta is ok with me! We came here for my birthday and it definitely exceeded my expectations. After being open for one week, you can tell that they have this down to a science! The staff are well trained, organized and knowledgeable. Our waiter Jacob went above and beyond to make sure that we were taken care of and answered all of our questions. He listened and gave some amazing suggestions! The food, is on another level. The Caesar salad has the most amazing croutons, made in-house. They literally melt in your mouth. The spicy rigatoni is a LIFE CHANGING. I savored every bite and could have eaten another bowl 😅 The amaretto ice cream was so creamy, but not overly sweet and the lemoncello was the perfect way to end the meal. Highly recommend coming here!! Pro tip: Carbone Vino does not require reservations, but if you come as a walk in, come right at 5. If you come 15 min before, you can prob find a parking spot without having to valet.
The service, ambiance and most importantly food were excellent. Jeff was our server and very knowledgeable and amicable. We tried everything from the best basket, two different pastas, steaks and sides, and a dessert. Everything was fresh and tasted wonderful. Great place for a birthday dinner or any special occasion. We will be back.
Great service by our captain Sarah. In fact, all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Super atmosphere, excellent music and really good food across-the-board. We did the three course recommendation and it was way too much food. The bread is incredible, Caesar salad top shelf, 24 year aged Parmesan along with salami to start was unbelievable. I didn’t think the spicy pasta was spicy enough, view Parm was good. I’m going back on Tuesday to try a few more things. Honestly, not as expensive as I thought it was going to be.
Perfect place for a wonderful Sunday dinner. It was our first time dining at Carbone, and we were not disappointed. Our captain, Axel, was phenomenal and helped make our night so special. The Spicy Rigatoni Vodka was insanely delicious, and we really enjoyed the oysters, Caesar salad, meatballs, lobster ravioli, Orecchiette, shrimp scampi, lamb, and carrot cake. We left very full and happy, and absolutely can’t wait to go back!

Went with a group of girls and we all had a great time! The ambiance, service and food were top notch. The spicy rigatoni vodka lives up to its hype. The Caesar salad sounds basic but was so good. The bread basket, freshly broken Parmesan, pickled cauliflower and salami was 5 stars. We loved the sides too - broccoli rabe, mushrooms and potatoes. We even had some of their desserts, which were great. They make a really good Negroni and espresso martini! Can’t wait to be back!
Amazing food and drinks. Service was impeccable. We were treated so well. I don't have anything bad to say whatsoever. The spicy rigatoni and meatballs were awesome, and the desserts and wines were amazing. The sommelier was fantastic, and our waiter was extremely attentive and kind. Loved how beautiful and fancy the restaurant was.
Amazing and well done! The Chef prepared and delivered an impressive meal. The staff are among the best in the industry. My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary with Carbone Dallas, and it was by far the best experience we could have enjoyed. Well done! Compliments to the management that lead this highly skilled team. I look forward to our continued visits to this fine establishment.
Our group of four had reservations for 7:30pm the night before the total solar eclipse. It was very busy since an extra 400,000 people were in town to witness the eclipse. We got there at 7pm and had drinks at the adjacent connected bar, Vino. Excellent drinks and atmosphere. Our table was not ready until 8pm, so when we were seated, we were comped a delicious appetizer. Our waitress Elena P graced us with her superb attention to detail and beautiful Belarusian accent. The food and service were marvelous. We started with an amazing assorted bread basket, then melted mozzarella over a bed of onion and bell pepper. Next up were pasta dishes of spiced rigatoni and tortellini meat marinara. So savory. After that we were presented with veal parmigiana served pizza style, cut into four sections for us four diners. Desserts were tiramisu, carrot cake, and hazelnut chocolate cake. All were sweet delights. The various wines all paired well with the dinner. Also Elena gave us limoncello, which accompanied the desserts so well. We will certainly return here next time we visit Dallas. I recommend you visit here; your tastebuds will thank you!
My first experience at Carbone was great. We got to sit in a cute romantic booth on the patio. The service was excellent. One of the managers helped us to pick out a great white wine to pair with our dinner, which we really enjoyed. Our waitress was super attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. Their food presentation was also great - the antipasta, pasta, and then the protein - and was served family style. Their food is on the expensive side, but everything tasted great and overall it was a great dining experience. I would recommend the spicy rigatoni vodka pasta, which we were told is one of their classics!
I totally don’t get the bad reviews. Maybe they have improved significantly since reading previous reviews BUT… We went on a Tuesday night with a reservation. We were seated immediately and had water poured for us within a couple minutes and a waiter was already explaining the complimentary bread and cheese on the table. Waiter (Jon A) gave excellent recommendations and guided us towards a perfectly curated 3 course meal. Appetizers were huge and there was plenty of bread/sides. The restaurant itself is beautiful; both the terrace and the inside.
This is a location to enjoy the experience, and they truly delivered. The food was delicious; the must-try is exceptionally the macaroni spicy rigatoni vodka, octopus pizzaiolo, Cesar a la ZZ, and carrot cake. Our waiter was just fantastic; praises to Luis and Amber. The dinner setting feels excellent. I suggest reserving a table outside around 7 pm, as the sun sets and night ambiance makes the experience finer for you. The drinks are delicious as well. Overall a great dining experience.
I came to Carbone for dinner today, and the service we received was excellent! The food was exceptional too. My favorite dishes included the calamari, lobster ravioli, spicy rigatoni vodka, tortellini al ragu, and the chicken massimo. The chicken was very tender, and all of the pasta’s had very creamy sauces that were savory. The calamari here is the best I’ve had. It had a good amount of spice and came with a sauce that complimented it nicely. A double serving of pasta is a good size if you’re with a party of 4-5 people. All of the dishes here are family style. The staff was attentive to us during our entire dinner which I appreciated. We had a great waiter! The dessert was phenomenal as well. Highly recommend the chocolate hazelnut cake with vanilla gelato! Overall, I had a great experience at Carbone. The food and service were excellent! This restaurant had great ambiance as well, and it’s the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
This place is perfect for a special occasion, I went there for my wedding anniversary, this italian place is elegant, classy, in a nice secluded area close to downtown, the food is top notch, I ordered the Veal Parmesan, vodka Rigatoni and the Branzino, those 3 are my favs from this place, atmosphere is very chill and not too loud easy to talk, brings the great tastes from Italy, a lot of other good options on the menu but those are my go tos.
Impeccable in every way! We couldn't think of a better place to celebrate our anniversary. The front of house was warm and welcoming and had everything ready for us. The Valet staff is always on point. All of our starters were delicious but I was surprised by how much I loved the beets. The calamari had a delightful crunch, and of course, the Caesar alla ZZ speaks for itself (while the croutons sing). The spicy rig was perfect, as always. I can't see a trip to Vino or Carbone without it. I was thrilled when our waiter arrived with the box of truffles for our tortellini. He let me pick one, and added it to our dish table side! The Salmon Oreganata was absolutely divine, I'm so glad we didn't pass on this course! For dessert, all of the compliments to pastry chef Janelle for filling our hearts with decadent lemon cheesecake and delicious carrot cake with ginger gelato. You had me at hello. We throughly enjoyed the Champagne, an Espresso Martini, Negroni (with cynar), and the Limoncello. I'm looking forward to exploring their extensive wine list next time. Salute!
I went there to celebrate my wife's birthday 🎂 amazing luxury ambiance! Perfect for date nights and special occasions! The food taste is on the next level! Totally recommend it! We did the octopus as a starter, caprece salad, and the porter house stake (very well piced portion for two people)
Went to Carbone for the first time tonight, had an early reservation. First impression when you walk in - it was very chaotic, there isn’t a formal waiting room just sorta a free-for-all. Thankfully, since our time was so early , we were seated punctually - but I can see how later in the evening would be challenging. We were seated in the main room which wasn’t nearly as moody and cozy as the side dining areas. Service felt rushed at first, you had to place your whole order at once and they kept taking our plates away. We joked that we’d be out in 15 mins. Once we got our appetizers, fortunately, they slowed their roll. All that aside, the food was incredible - spicy rigatoni lives up to the hype and the chopped salad was amazing. There is a good wine list and my wife had a nice selection of mock tails to choose from. Parking was either valet or surface lot (available outside M-F work hours). Will return.
A comfortable, warm and atmospheric restaurant that I like it. This red wine in pic-1 is worth recommending , light body but the taste is delicate and sweet. Basically, all the food is good but the Ribeye Diana is not as delicious as expected. Appreciate that Edward‘s service is really good, which makes the dining experience even better.. will be back soon though
The service is amazing. But you also get what you pay for. The food was delightful and perfectly cooked. Of all the different options we had, the veal parmesan was the true Rockstar. The deal parmesan was good. Very tender. The special wagyu ribeye was not what we were expecting. The Dover was also incredibly good. The wine recommendations were spot on. Did the sommelier was able to articulate to some of our guests desires. This was a nice event.
A Perfect Blend of Elegance, Charm, and Culinary Excellence Dining at Carbone in Dallas was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, it felt like stepping back into a New York restaurant of the 1940s. The ambiance was stunning: low lights, dark, rich colors, and a staff dressed to impress—servers in suits and bow ties, with support staff in traditional long-sleeve white shirts and aprons. We were seated immediately and welcomed with a selection of beverages and complimentary antipasti. The service was impeccable, with knowledgeable and friendly staff who made us feel right at home. We began with a selection of fresh oysters from Massachusetts (yes, they could share details about the sources and ingredients!), Sicilian beets, and an extraordinary Caesar salad, complete with crunchy, buttery croutons and anchovies on the side. Each bite was a delight. The pasta courses were next, and they absolutely stole the show. We tried the rigatoni in spicy vodka sauce and tortellini stuffed with ricotta, finished tableside with freshly shaved black truffles—pure decadence! The Dover sole was another highlight, expertly deboned and prepared at our table with flair. While we were too full to try dessert this time, we can’t wait to return for it. A standout dish of the evening was the acorn squash with pumpkin seeds, brown butter, and fresh sage—it was so good I’d come back just for that! Even the valet team added to the charm of the evening. They were sweet, efficient, and made sure our car was well cared for without any delays. Carbone is a delightful mix of timeless sophistication and Texas warmth. It was a perfect evening, and we can’t wait to come back!
Wonderful experience! Food was excellent. We had tons of leftovers. The restaurant was very accommodating with the serving of my birthday cake. The atmosphere is unique and the service was fantastic. Our server was phenomenal and he went above and beyond. The lobster ravioli was delicious, as was the vodka rigatoni, and the tortellini ragu. The parm and bread were perfect. 10/10 recommend the caprese. We will be back again to try other items in the future.
From start to finish, our experience at Carbone Dallas was nothing short of exceptional. One thing no one talks about—but absolutely should—is the incredible bread service and the Parmesan cheese wheel they bring to the table for tasting. Such a unique and delicious touch! The service was top-notch; although we weren’t celebrating anything special, the staff made us feel like VIPs the entire night. The attention to detail was impeccable, from opening the doors for us to providing fresh silverware for each course. Now, onto the food—wow! The meatballs were perfection, flavorful and tender. The spicy rigatoni? Absolutely to die for. We were beyond full, but we couldn’t resist the tiramisu for dessert, and we’re so glad we went for it—it was hands down the best we’ve ever had. Moist, rich, and packed with flavor! If you can score a table, do not hesitate! We recommend booking the first available seating of the day for even faster service. We sat down at 6 PM and were out by 7:30 PM, completely satisfied. The dimly lit atmosphere only added to the romantic and intimate vibe, making for a truly unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommend Carbone Dallas—worth every bite!
It is very dark inside when seated at the table, we kept moving at our little table lamp, so we can see what we were eating, servers assistant, that refills, the waters, and things like that, kept moving it back to the middle of the table… Not a real bother, we thought it was kind of quirky and laughed it off. The atmosphere other than that is really amazing. The Caesar salad was delicious, but we felt it was priced a little high for what you get. I normally hate croutons, but these were out of this world . The bread that they bring to the table, specifically the grandma’s bread… I could’ve had a meal out out of that . The spicy rigatoni is a delicious, comfort, food, and not overly spicy at all, just enough for some flavor. My husband loved the sauce that was on his steak, but felt that it. His steak had a lot of fat and gristle. He did not care for the side of squash that he got, it tasted like it had so much butter. We will definitely return for another special occasion.
Honestly… this was really delicious. I admit, I am one of the people who for sure considered Carbone overhyped and couldn’t ever see myself going. However, my mom was in town and treated us to dinner and it was really phenomenal. The service was exceptional, and every detail was taken into account from the changing of plates between courses, to the honest food recommendations by the staff. Extremely expensive? Absolutely. But amazingly delicious? Yes. The dishes are meant to be shared because they are LARGE! We ordered 1 starter / salad, 2 pastas, 1 main dish, 1 side, and 1 desert for 3 people, which was honestly a lot of food and we ended up taking plenty home. The cocktails were a hit, and I really enjoyed the extensive list of grappa they had to offer. One word of advice - the atmosphere varies WILDLY between the “outside” warehouse space, and the “inside” cozy low lit atmosphere. It’s hard to explain, but there are almost 2 different versions of Carbone, and I’m not sure what determines where you sit. We sat on the “inside” which had lovely light fixtures, table lamps, built in booths in the walls, and a gorgeous bar. The “outside” had white air ducts hanging down from the ceiling , with fluorescent lighting until about 9 pm, which kind of feels like a pop up experience.
Carbone in downtown Dallas is an absolute gem! The atmosphere is nothing short of amazing, with an authentic 1920s Italian theme that is impeccably done. Nestled in the vibrant heart of downtown, the location adds to the overall charm and excitement of the experience. The food is simply delicious. I had the spicy rigatoni vodka, which is now my personal favorite and a must-try recommendation. Don't miss out on the bread for the table; it comes with a delightful assortment of different breads served with parmesan cheese--perfect for sharing. I also enjoyed the mocktail Shirley Temple, which was surprisingly good. To top it all off, the cheesecake dessert was the highlight of the meal. From the lively location to the exquisite food and themed ambiance, Carbone offers a dining experience that is both memorable and satisfying. Highly recommended!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Outstanding — A True Dallas Gem Carbone’s is easily one of the best dining experiences in Dallas. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and an atmosphere that feels both classic and elevated. The service is exceptional — attentive without ever being intrusive — and you can tell the staff truly take pride in what they do. The food is the real star here. Every dish is executed perfectly, from the fresh house-made pasta to the incredible sauces and impeccably seasoned entrées. The rigatoni vodka and veal parm are absolute must-tries — and the lobster ravioli is truly spectacular. Perfectly tender pasta, a rich and delicate filling, and a sauce that ties it all together — it’s unforgettable. Even the simpler items, like the bread service and salads, are crafted with care and quality ingredients that make them stand out. The ambiance is energetic yet intimate, making it great for a date night, business dinner, or a special celebration. Carbone’s manages to combine big-city polish with genuine hospitality, and it shows in every detail. If you’re in Dallas and want an unforgettable meal, look no further. Carbone’s delivers on every level — food, service, and experience. Highly recommended! 🍝✨
Perfect for Business dinners, special occasions, and the best date night spot in D! Food is awesome, felt like I was in Manhattan, but service was the best. Spicy Rigatoni, Caesar, Carpaccio were awesome per usual, sleepers on the menu are the crudos, baked clams, orechettie, and the Dover Picatta. Dry Aged Wagyu Cowboy Ribeye, grilled perfectly. Lemon cheesecake and coconut sorbet with the rum cart is the best for dessert. Carrot cake is awesome too, with the Ginger gelato and cream cheese icing was delicious. Julia was our captain for this particular dinner, service and support team was flawless. From the front door, Sommelier, and server assistant. Drinks from the bar were brilliant. Aperol spritz, espresso martinis were perfect. The Negroni *ordered mine with mezcal was my favorite.
We went here for my son’s 20th birthday. The music and ambiance was great! Service is excellent but be aware to ask about prices of specials. We paid wwwaaaayyy too much for a steak that’s was average. Overall worth going at least once. Meatballs were fine, bread basket is delicious, great wine selection, rigatoni is amazing but steak is overpriced. Comes sliced which is nice.
The atmosphere and the service were a 12/10 exceeded expectations. The bread was to die for, so were the cheese, salami and pickled cauliflower 12/10 as well. The only drink I had was an espresso martini that was strong but very flavorful 9/10. The spicy rigatoni was immaculate. Overall a very solid meal and place.
We dined here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The service was excellent. The three-course meal was delicious. Everything the captain brought to the table from the bread to the drinks to the entrees and sides to the dessert was top tier. It was among the best food I’ve ever had. Several of us had to use the restroom, and they too were clean and pleasant.
It was an 11 out of 10!!! Couldnt of been more perfect. EXCEPTIONAL service by Johnathan. The food is just amazing. We had a white truffle special Dover Sole for our entree. White truffle fresh from Italy flown in that day! Couldnt resist it. Bones perfectly removed tableside along with generous truffle shaving. Homerun! Lemon cheesecake was absolutely perfection. We cant wait to go back. Worth EVERY penny and then some. The amviance is everything you want for a dpecial night out. We sat in one of the viral booths you see so much on instagram amd it was perfect. You HAVE to try Carbone Dallas if you havent. Pricey but so worth it!!
Carbone is one of the cleanest restaurants I’ve ever been to. The kitchen, dining room, bar area, and bathrooms are spotless — not a speck out of place. You can tell they take cleanliness seriously at every level. It made the whole experience even better. Highly impressive!
Carbone has been on my list for visiting when I go to NY but it's not easy to get in, so when work brought me to Dallas I knew I'd have to come here! Beautiful setting, feels like you're out in a garden patio. We enjoyed the food, the spicy vodka sauce pasta was great, with more depth to the heat than what I had at their sister restaurant, Parm, in New York (but that was tasty as well!). The service seemed geared to having you over-order - we didn't want to over-eat and since we're not locals we didn't want to have leftovers. So we enjoyed salad, pasta, meatballs and dessert.
Exelente lugar!!!
Lo mejor que he visitado
Excelente comida
Carbone elevates Italian-American cuisine with bold flavors and impeccable execution, though the portions are undeniably petite. The Spicy Rigatoni Vodka steals the spotlight, featuring perfectly cooked pasta enveloped in a creamy, subtly spicy sauce that lingers beautifully on the palate. Equally noteworthy is the Prime Porterhouse Steak, expertly prepared with rich, robust flavors. While the quality is exceptional, the serving sizes are small and meal can become very costly with big parties. I would like to see the lasagna available more going forward.
I came in last night with very low expectations so saying that the restaurant exceeded my expectations might not mean much. I’m sad Bad Bunny wasn’t there…and that they didn’t even play Monaco once while we dined last night! What was delicious? The bread basket!!! The cauliflower giardiniera, the spicy rigatoni, off-menu meatballs, and surprisingly the funghi trifolati side. The spicy rigatoni is prettyyyyy good. They were out of calamari so the staff member suggested the octopus pizzaiolo and that was not a hit for us. I’m Vietnamese and am always down for fish sauce but this dish was pungent…really heavy on the Italian fish sauce so beware. Cesar salad is okay. They do make a show of the salad preparation so that was nice. Mocktails were surprisingly tasty but $15 each was kinda steep. They also charge you for every single bottle of Perrier and Aqua Panna they serve you…and my biggest complaint is all of the food is heavily salted. So be warned and don’t be surprised by the bill. Update. Came back a year later and gave it another chance and had the best meal. I’m so glad we gave it another chance. Beets. Bread basket. Whole fish. Carpaccio. Meat balls. Spicy rigatoni. Calamari. 🤤
My business dinner at Carbone exceeded all expectations! We were drawn in by its stellar reputation for Italian cuisine, and we weren't disappointed. The food was outstanding, and our server was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout the meal. The spicy rigatoni stole the show for me--it was absolutely divine and packed with flavor. However, the dim lighting in the restaurant, while adding to the ambiance, made it challenging to read the menu. We attempted to use our phone flashes to illuminate the menu and capture photos of the delicious dishes, but we were promptly informed that flashes weren't allowed. While this was initially a bit frustrating, we quickly adapted and focused on enjoying the incredible food and atmosphere. Despite this minor inconvenience, our experience at Carbone was nothing short of exceptional.
After reading the reviews I was so close to canceling my reservation, but I stand by trying things on your own because everyone’s experience will be different. I saw a lot of reviews about poor service, but the service was top tier when I visited. From the moment we arrived, checked in for our reservation, and were sat. The restaurant is also very beautiful, wish we got to sit in the booth tables. We had a server and a busser and they were incredibly nice and attentive to us the entire time and checking in to make sure we had everything and the food was to our standard. Ok the food… food was delicious. They bring out different types of complementary bread, pickled veggies, aged cheese, and meat slices. For our dishes we had table side Cesar salad that had the best croutons I’ve ever had — they literally melt in your mouth. We also had the spaghetti puttanesca and the lobster ravioli, both were really good. We also ordered a side of meatballs and shrimp scampi $32 per piece so definitely on the pricey side. Lastly, we ordered the potatoes Louie that were absolutely some of the best potatoes I’ve ever had — seasoned well, soft in the middle, with a soft crunch on the outside. We were honestly stuffed at this point so we did not order dessert, but received complimentary cookies that were tasty. All in all, I recommend you give them a try and form your own opinion.
The restaurant is beautiful. I recommend the spicy rigatoni and the Caesar salad. The service was great. Valet on site works by tip. They have a full bar. The free bread and table items they bring were all delicious. The fettuccine was not good. We enjoyed all the drinks. I would come back here again.
I love this place it’s beautiful inside, the lights are romantically dimmed perfect for a nice relaxing dinner, they have a vast wine selection, I usually go for the veal Marsala, and I actually like all of their pastas, the only thing sometimes the service is not as good as I’d like but the place is good enough on other things that I keep going back, prices are ok in terms of upscale restaurants, the hosts were nice food comes out quick.
We went there as a party of six with an 8PM dinner reservation. The valet and outside welcome area was rather tight, you would miss the main entrance door if not for people coming in and out The host and our waiter were cordial and we were seated promptly The interior decor was rather industrial, ceilings were in the original industrial setting and the flooring was rough concrete (like a warehouse) but they had laid out red carpeting in foot traffic areas Our waiter was excellent, the service was great and the food was outstanding We loved the experience, not the same as the one in NYC… hence the 4 stars v 5
A little dark but was such an amazing experience! We had amazing staff who served us so well. Our waiter was just the best, she took photos for my friends and I end of the night. We were there from 8:30pm - midnight. I loved that we were rushed, menu explained well and just a great time for my birthday. Food was amazing and their espresso martinis
What a beautiful place! Outstanding decor! Our server and support staff were simply impeccable in their execution. We had the meatballs and spicy rigatoni pasta. The meatballs were spectacular, especially with a bit of the fresh parm they brought tableside. The pasta was just OK. I'm very familiar with fresh pasta and this was not fresh. It was also not rigatoni. The flavor was wonderful though. The Cocktails and wine by the glass were very good but we couldn't order a bottle because there werent any selections under $100.....with most several hundred to well over $14k. Impressive but not for a Thursday nice dinner. Put at least 10 choices of reds and whites in a fair price range. Overall a beautiful place well executed but those wine prices and market price for some choices is extravagant.
The hype of Carbone has certainly faded. It is now nothing more than a consistent chain restaurant. Hopefully they bring down their prices to reflect that. The food is delicious, no doubt. But is a veal parm worth $130 ? Absolutely not. The Cesar salad is fantastic, if it were $19 I’d come for it once a week, but at $35 it’s simply not $35 dollars good. Carbone needs to adapt. They are priced as a special occasion restaurant, I think people In This area just want a reliable delicious restaurant with good service, that is a bit more approachable. The dessert was lacking. The cakes are something your grandma would bake, nothing special.
Ordered the calamari marco, meatballs, orecchiette vito with squash agrodolce, and the spicy rigatoni vodka with potato Louie. We received complimentary bread, salumi, parmesan and cauliflower. The bread wasn't to my liking except the garlic bread. The cauliflower was pickled. There were some onions in there too, which really tasted great. I would have preferred more onions over the cauliflower. The calamari comes with a sauce. they ask you if you prefer on the side or poured on top (preferred by the chef). We had them pour it on top. It was good but, next time I'll ask for it on the side. The calamari on the bottom was soggy. The meatballs were a hit with my wife. I thought it was ok, only because I'm not a fan of Italian sausage. The orecchiette pasta was way to al dente, it was a bit chewy and tough. It was very savory. It also had sausage, which I pushed to the side. The squash was a surprise hit for me. So sweet and buttery. My favorite of the night. I tried the spicy rigatoni and I can see why it's very popular. The pasta was al dente (the right way). The potatoes were not to our liking. We alao had dessert. My wife liked her tiramisu icecream and the carrot cake was ok. Overall, the food was good. Taste is subjective but preparation is not. The restaurant was very beautiful and charming. The staff from the valet to the runners and everyone in between were great and friendly. I wish I had asked our waitress's name. She regularly checked up on us, very friendly and helpful. Would I come back? I would.
Overall, a very solid place for good Italian food. We came here for drinks and dinner. The cocktails were good. The complimentary bread basket and meat were fantastic and honestly worth paying for. The calamari batter was very light and had a unique taste/texture without being overly greasy. It was one of our favorites. The spicy rigatoni was also excellent. The fettuccine con funghi was flavorful, but the fettuccine was a bit overcooked. Not quite bad enough to send back, but definitely on the mushier side. The veal parmesan was disappointing, and we wished we got something else instead. The tiramisu was excellent (and huge). Overall, it was a nice meal. It was not the best Italian we had, but it was solid. Personally, I think that the pricing is a bit steep for what it is.
We visited Carbone Dallas for Valentine’s Day and had an incredible experience from start to finish. Despite it being a very busy night with a fixed menu, everything felt seamless — from being seated to the pacing of the meal. The service was friendly, polished, and attentive without ever feeling rushed, and the restaurant somehow maintained an intimate atmosphere even at full capacity. Every course was delicious. We started with the carpaccio and Caesar salad, and added the oysters with caviar, which ended up being the best thing I ate all night. The spicy rigatoni was as amazing as always, followed by excellent meatballs, a perfectly cooked filet, and a fantastic veal parmesan. Dessert absolutely lived up to the rest of the meal — the lemon cheesecake was incredible, and the hazelnut terrine was the perfect finish. Overall, an outstanding dining experience with exceptional food, flawless service, and an atmosphere that made a special occasion feel truly special.
I had family over from New York and they ranted and raved about this place and they were so excited to try it. They said the experience was underwhelming and nothing compared to the NY Carbone. The bread basket selection was decent. No flavor in the plain bread and the sauce bread, th other one had a lot of flavor but too oily buttery. Was not a fan of the Caesar salad at all, the croutons had a lot of flavor but too oily and big for my taste. We had the spicy rigatoni it was good but not amazing. We had Dover fish which was good. The lobster was ok tasted like sweet bbq tangy not sure how I felt about it. Desserts all have pork in it which was a bit odd because they have vegetarian friendly dishes. It’s silly to pay $30+ for just pasta without a protein. Overall we had a great time especially because the service was top notch. I’d recommend this place to others and would go again and order specials of the day.
Loved the atmosphere. I feel as if I travelled outside of Dallas. The bartenders were attentive and detailed. The portions for the dishes are massive since it’s family style. I enjoyed the bolognese, which was a deconstructed lasagne. The sauce flavor was savory. Also tried the chicken parmigiana, which was a waste of money. It lacked flavor.
Food was mid over all and for the price kinda disappointing. Atmosphere was nice and service was great. Ordered -Lobster Ravioli actually pretty good 6/10 -Veal Marsala was meh 4/10 -Cherry Ribs, pretty good flavor 6/10 Dessert was the tiramisu and was great 9/10 also the cookies they gave were good as well
We have been wanting to try this infamous place since it opened in Dallas. Last night the actual Chef Carbone was visiting and cooking. What a perfect night for it. Earliest available reservation was 8:30 as we did not want the early bird special 😜 We arrived at 8 and waited at the bar with a cocktail. We had to remind our bartender in how to prepare our drink! Also he was not familiar with the menu for this special night! We were seated at 8:45 in a beautiful booth. The decor, space and furnishings were beautiful and classic. Right out of a NY Mafia movie 😉 The staff was VERY attentive. Hostesses, Captains, Sommeliers, runners and much more. Soon the bread basket arrived with some great breads, pickled Cauliflower and Levoni Finocchiona Salami. The highlight of the night was the Octopus Pizzaiolo (the most tender we have ever had with a tasty sauce) and Chef Carbone walking by and stopping to say hi. He is a Mets fan and my wife a Yankee fan 😜 Unfortunately, everything else was a real disappointment. We were so looking forward to this Italian dinner as we have not had any luck with Italian in Dallas as my followers know by now. Carpaccio Piemontese was nice with Truffle essence but no shaved Parmesan! The Spaghettini Bambini was served from a large pasta urn table side. We were drooling for it until we tasted what boiled down to be a COLD version of the pasta my Nona made growing up when I wasn't feeling well. Butter and Parmesan but basically tasteless. That should have been a Cacio e Pepe at least. For $180 you get 5 raviolis with shaved white truffle stuffed with Spinach & Ricotta. Once again COLD! The truffle was overwhelmed by the Spinach and again, a disappointment. If that were stuffed with Chestnut or squash or a simple pillowy Gnocchi and piping hot it would be worth the price charged (We always request our food piping hot at restaurants but did not think we needed to do that here at this level a restaurant. Both pasta dishes were comped but that wasn't the point as it was past 10pm by now) We decided to cut our losses and head out without trying the Veal Double Parm or any dessert 😰 A very nice wine list even if over priced. Our search for good Italian in Dallas continues!
I’ve been hearing all Carbone and the hype for awhile so I decided to give it a shot for my birthday. The server was very pushy and rushed me. I maybe had the drink menu to look at for two minutes and he asked me are you ready now. It was just rush after rush I didn’t have time to pick and enjoy my food. The bread was amazing, the pasta was ok but not top tier, shrimp was decent. They didn’t sign happy birthday to me which was disappointing. As I was getting ready to pay my server was trying to give me assistance on how to pay the bill and put me on the spot to give him a good tip. Honestly this place is mid and isn’t worth it for the price. I might as well have gone to North italia or Olive Garden and spend less than half the cost. I won’t be returning back when I’m in Dallas.
Experience overall was good Service was good just that they make you chose the course order and they don’t come in order when they tell you you have to pick one of each and they come in order after you finish the meal and i got the salad before appetizers and caesar salad is expensive and not as good as i expected. I ordered fish and was dry Tiramisu was super dry as well and it tasted like liquor couldn’t taste anything else. Drinks took at least 30 minutes to come and they were not busy at all to just pour some tequila and ice on a cup. Came for the experience but I wouldn’t come back is way overpriced for what it is. Bread came after salad and appetizers and was the best of all.
Atmosphere is great for a special occasion, date night, or birthdays. Expect better service during the weekdays, not weekends. Had table side Cesar salad, appetizers, signature spicy rigatoni, meatballs were still pink in the middle, along with the salmon dish (I assume they cook everything medium rare-ish). Overall food was mid, nothing special, other than the price tags. There are better options in Dallas if you want good authentic pasta. But if you want a boujee night out, this is place checks off.
I had been looking forward to dining at Carbone for a while, especially as a pasta lover. Given all the hype, I wanted to wait until things settled before trying it. Finally, I had the chance to visit for my birthday last week. The food itself was quite good—I’d give it 4 stars. From the bread to the pasta, everything was well-executed. My favorites were the Caesar salad, truffle fettuccini, and spicy rigatoni. However, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our server mentioned they were short-staffed that night, and it was evident he was covering a large section. While we tried to be understanding, for a restaurant of this caliber, it wasn’t an acceptable excuse. Dinner dragged on for nearly three hours due to slow service. Several items we ordered, including the meatballs, never arrived. At one point, all three of us at the table were left without silverware after our salads were cleared, and no replacements were provided. One of my friends received a complimentary birthday treat and said it was great, but my birthday—our reason for dining—was never acknowledged. While not a big deal, it was noticeable. Ultimately, the high cost did not justify the lackluster service, and I don’t think we’ll be returning.
A pretty good spot for some Italian. They provide some really amazing complimentary bread, parm, salami, and cauliflower. Carbone is known for the spicy rigatoni which is good, but I think the lobster ravioli was better. Overall, really good service, but I think you can get better (and cheaper) Italian other places in Dallas. They have matchbooks if you’re a collector!
Overall it was good. The food was tasty. The location is beautiful. The service was just okay. I was there for a birthday party for Sherelle Black 12/5. It was 8 of us. The waiter, a guy, just wasnt patient at all. At one point when we told him for a 2nd time that we were waiting for 2 others before we order, he literally waved his hand and made a teeth smacking noise and just walked away- no response and no smile. Clearly annoyed or frustrated. Even the ordering process was very rushed. We would stop to ask the table if they wanted some of a certain dish so we'd know how many to order and while asking he'd interrupt to say and start writing down the number to order when we haven't even confirmed. We still left 15% tip (($140 on a $800 ticket) because its the right thing to do but he didn't deserve it. The other down side is the very small portions.
The food was excellent! The service was prompt and attentive. That being said, the menu was confusing with our waiter pushing anything using truffles. The atmosphere was dark making the wine list and menu difficult to see. We were seated in a clamshell type of back which echoed the noise from the dining room. We were able to hear conversations from several different tables. Not a pleasant dining experience.
We dined on a busy holiday and I was excited to show my mom how good Carbone is but it was rather disappointing this time. I’ve never had to turn away a dish but the mussels weren’t edible due to the grit. They were not cleaned properly and we had to spit them out. The spicy rigatoni was still a favorite. The service was also not the friendliest.
Underwhelming. With a $500 tab, it was clear that the brand & aesthetics are what carry this place. The food was fine, but nothing worth returning for. The service, from the host to the server, was overly casual and far from what one would expect from a fine-dining establishment. Our server spoke to us in an overly familiar manner, as if we were old friends, using phrases like “What’s up?” and “Y’all are good” when closing out the check—instead of a simple “Thank you for dining with us” or “Have a good evening.” At this price point, there are far better options that offer superior food and a true fine-dining experience—or at the very least, professional service and proper manners.
me pareció caro y la comida super xs, la atención buena, el ambiente bueno! Pero no lo suficiente para repetir!
Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The porterhouse steak alone was $260, and had no flavor, which was the biggest letdown. The Caesar salad was something you could easily find pre-made at a grocery store. Maybe it’s because our server prepared both ours and the table next to us at the same time The only standout dish was the spicy rigatoni — it was genuinely delicious. Everything else, including the complimentary cookies, was underwhelming. Service was polite, but really slow. We were treated nicely, but had to wait far too long between courses, which made the dinner drag.
Feels like taking Olive Garden up one notch? Really confused if this is an experiment at mass produced fine dining? Our reservation was at 7pm on a Saturday. First impressions entering was wow this is beautiful, feels like we were just transported to another city. That quickly faded as there was no apparent structure at the front desk and an overflow of guests waiting to be seated. Unfortunately, this ended up being the theme for the night. After getting to the front desk, we were told we could wait in the lounge or bar area. The couches were packed with not so happy looking guests. So we chose the bar and ordered a couple drinks. The old fashioned was too sweet and the bartenders really didn’t engage with the guests at all. We were seated around 7:30pm. Although it took about another 10 minutes for the bread options and vinegar based cauliflower to arrive, they were delicious so we geared up for a turn for the good. The menus are way too large for the small tables we’re sitting at. The waiter seemed to rush off as quick as he can every time he stopped at our table. The bathroom line was long and there was liquid all over the floor and the trash can was overflowing. The chicken was undercooked at the bone. The spicy rigatoni was the best dish we tried but not sure why it also had the smallest portion. Also not sure why the soundtrack was entirely Motown. Doesn’t match the vibe and atmosphere. Overall, I think this restaurant could benefit from a complete reset. They’re trying to execute a mass plan with no apparent structure, or training for a restaurant of this size. It comes off as guests are just a number. But unfortunately feels as we’re being taken advantage of for the reputation.
Upscale for service but food was downscale. Went here for the special occasion and were greeted nicely. Our server was just a great guy, there was a waitress following him constantly and she was doing nothing so it was kind of weird to see what was here role in this restaurant. Anyways, we ordered food and so far everything was good and then in our pasta main course we got a metal wire (check the photo) and it just blew our entire evening. I wouldn’t step my foot here again given what they serve no matter how great the service or ambiance is. Server promptly replaced with whole new dish and were offered simple sorry.
Beautiful restaurant. The experience was less than great because our waiter spoke very fast, did not explain much, was seemingly condescending, and wasn’t personable in any manner. Our food portions were also smaller than expected but nothing terrible. The food was good. The other staff were more helpful than our waitress. We saw management stop at other tables and ask how the meal was or poured a drink for a guest. But they walked past our table with barely a smile. As solely a table of black women we did not feel as welcomed, more so overlooked compared to the other guest and for this reason I don’t think I’ll be back. Also had to stock my own tissue in the bathroom. There were only two personal bathrooms for the whole restaurant.
My husband surprised me with a reservation for my birthday and I was so excited because I have been wanting to try it for as long as I can remember. We checked in and seating was prompt. Very laid back atmosphere and the lighting/mood were kinda fun. Our captain came by to go over the menu and explain everything. Our staff was super attentive when it came to our bread basket/cheese/cauliflower/salami/drinks. You have to order everything at once so we went for the Caesar salad, spicy rigatoni pasta, lobster ravioli, and Ribeye Diana. The salad came out very quick but I definitely wouldn’t say it was the best I have ever had. The croutons were great, but I’ve had better Caesar salad from a grocery store bag. The pastas were absolutely amazing-lobster ravioli was loaded with lobster and the spicy rigatoni was honestly one of the best sauces I have tasted. I can totally understand why it is a staple here. Unfortunately we waited almost an hour and a half for our meat to come out (ordered at 8:30 pm, pasta came at 9:10pm, and meat came out at 10:05 pm). By that time we were ready to leave. For a restaurant of this caliber, I was very surprised that management wasn't involved walking around and talking with tables when food was delayed. I also waited about 20 minutes to go to the bathroom since only two were available for all guests. The food was good but overall I was slightly disappointed because I really wanted to love this place. As we were leaving, we overheard lots of other parties complaining about the slow service. I really want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I don’t think we will be going back anytime soon.
I’ve dined here before with work colleagues and had positive experiences, so I chose to return for my birthday and bring my husband and son, as they hadn’t been before. In the past, while the food is overpriced, the quality and service have generally been okay. Unfortunately, this visit was very different. The service throughout the evening felt inattentive and lacked the warmth and professionalism I would expect from this type of establishment. Our server seemed disengaged, with little effort to create a welcoming experience. My sparkling wine was flat and appeared to have been poured from an already opened bottle. When I mentioned it politely, another server brought a different bottle that was also already opened and poured a replacement and walked away without checking the quality. I then chose to just get another drink. For the remainder of the dinner, the service felt transactional like a fast food restaurant rather than attentive. It lacked the care and hospitality that had stood out to me during visits at similar establishments. I arrived excited to celebrate my birthday and did my best to maintain that spirit, but my husband and I ultimately left feeling that the experience was underwhelming
This restaurant was hands down one of the worst restaurants in Dallas. The food is awful. Nothing was good except the lobster ravioli. It’s all overpriced and tastes like salt and oil. That’s really the only flavor they know. They put salt on the oysters so they weren’t sweet and refreshing. The yellowtail hibachi also salt and oil. They told us it’s light and fresh- not true. The Caesar salad was bitter. The spicy rigatoni tasted like it was just reheated out of the freezer. The lobster ravioli was surprisingly delicious. They used lobster claw in it though which I don’t mind because I like lobster claw but typically in a lobster dish, you’re not supposed to use the claw. It’s the cheapest part. The bread was whatever. Tasted like it came out of a package and they just slathered some marinara sauce on it. The artichoke hearts also slathered with oil and salt. Not good. The hazelnut dessert with peanuts on it was NOT good. Also did not taste freshly made. I really think most of the food was frozen or packaged and they put lots of salt and oil on it to mask that nothing is fresh. And extremely overpriced. They don’t put prices on many items so you don’t know how much you’re going to be charged till the end. If I had known some of the prices, I would not have ordered them. The nasty hibachi was $58 for a few slices. And the dessert was $25!! We didn’t even order any entrees and our total bill was almost $300 for two people. This is for the oysters, hibachi, two pastas, artichoke and dessert. They removed the salad from our bill. If we had ordered entrees, the bill would’ve been about $500. The waiters weren’t great either. You can tell they were amateurs who only cared about their tip. The waiter kept talking over me and once they learned that we didn’t like the salad, they literally did not check on us the entire meal and not once asked how we liked our food because they were worried we wouldn’t like anything else and would have to remove something and lessen their tip. We had to ask a manager to bring our waiter for the check because he wasn’t coming to us. The only decent thing about this place was the ambiance. It was nice. Otherwise, don’t waste your money. RUN!!
Beautiful restaurant, decent service, interesting way to handle reservations and contacting the restaurant. We ran extremely late due to traffic and had to email the restaurant to let them know. They said they may be able to accommodate us. When we arrived it wasn’t busy in the least so I don’t know if the email responses are cut and pasted but it didn’t seem hospitable. The food was just ok. Not sure we get the hype. A lot of the sauces are very rich and buttery. Then the basic tomato was very bland. The options for a person with dietary restrictions are very limited. Our server didn’t seem knowledgeable about what was suitable either and had to double check. Ordering something basic seemed the safest. I will say they have gluten free pasta and limited - according to the server - dairy free options. They do give complimentary bread, salumi and pickled vegetables along with parm which was a nice touch. Overall I’m not sure we’ll be back unless it’s for a cocktail.
Probably a mistake to go on Mother’s Day…. But we wanted to experience what everyone told us was incredible. We Felt rushed the minute we sat down. No one explained its family style dining. Apparently we were the last seating at 3pm. We didn’t really enjoy Mother’s Day due to how chaotic it was, they ran out of 3 dishes we went there specifically for. $700 dining felt like $70 experience. I got home & my teen asked for more food because the minestrone soup wasn’t good, they were out of chicken completely & the veil wasn’t tender. The prawns were the only thing worthy of speaking of although they are $30 a piece.
I had a very disappointing experience at Carbone that completely missed the mark for what is supposed to be a high-end restaurant. My wife and I were celebrating our 3-year wedding anniversary and had a reservation for 8:15 PM, with a specific request made in advance for a booth in the main dining room. We arrived early, yet were placed in the waiting area and not seated until 8:30 PM—already past our reservation time. When we were finally taken to a table, it was not a booth and not even in the main dining room, despite the request being clearly noted on the reservation. When we asked to be moved to the booth we had requested, we were told it would be another 50-minute wait, after already waiting beyond our reserved time. To make matters worse, multiple parties who arrived after us were seated before us, which was frustrating and confusing. There was no sense of urgency, accountability, or concern from the staff. Speaking with the manager did not improve the situation—nothing was offered, explained, or done to make it right. For a restaurant that charges premium prices and enforces a $50 late-arrival policy, it’s hard to understand how they justify penalizing guests for timing when they can’t honor their own reservations. This was meant to be a special night, and instead we ended up leaving and finding another restaurant last minute. For a place with Carbone’s reputation, the service and handling of this situation were extremely disappointing.
I’d been looking forward to trying Carbone for years. Finally, with a friend visiting, we managed to get a reservation for a table of six, which we adjusted to five upon arrival due to a last-minute cancellation. Unfortunately, the experience from start to finish was disappointing. As a group of all ladies, no one opened the door for us, and the valet attendants seemed uninterested and inattentive. Our reservation was for 5:45 p.m., but we weren’t seated until around 6:05, though we did arrive a bit late. When we were finally shown to our table, it was in a dark room. The bread and sides arrived promptly, but there were no menu recommendations offered. Our drink orders were taken, but the process of ordering food was slow, and our server wasn’t very attentive. The food took an unusually long time to arrive. One of my friends had ordered an espresso martini before dinner, yet it only showed up 10 minutes after we’d finished eating. When I politely asked if we could send it back, as she was no longer interested, the server didn’t acknowledge the issue initially until I had said something. To add to our disappointment, each dish was overly salty, with the lobster and octopus both overcooked. Given the high prices, we expected much better. Despite the lackluster experience, we still tipped well. Even as we left, we ended up opening our own doors. At the very least, the consistency was there—from beginning to end.
Carbone Dallas: A Luxury Scamperific Experience 🤌🏽🤣 So picture this: pregnant, craving something cute and boujee — we go to Carbone in Dallas. Beautiful spot. The lights? Immaculate. The chairs? Expensive. The vibe? Rich auntie who doesn’t claim her kids. Then the waiter comes over and I politely ask: “Do you guys have any sugar-free options? I have gestational diabetes.” And he responds with… “I didn’t know that was a thing.” Sir. Pregnant women exist. Diabetes exists. Reading comprehension at restaurants should also exist. 😭🙄 So I’m over here sipping tap water on the rocks like it’s a cocktail. We order the jumbo shrimp and scampi because it sounds delicious. He says, “You can order as many as you want!” What he didn’t say is that ONE single shrimp… ONE… Costs $42 EACH. We ordered six. Do the math. No actually don’t — it’s traumatizing. And the shrimp? Gummy. Gummy like a fruit snack. Chewed like it had dreams. I legit thought it was gonna bounce back. 👀 Then I asked the waiter what he recommends and suddenly this man starts reciting the Forbes list of entrees. Not a hint of “mmm this is actually good.” Just whatever would help the restaurant pay rent faster. Now… ambiance? Stunning. 10/10 interior. The photographer in me was pleased. The eater in me? Filing a missing persons report for my appetite. ⸻ 📝 Overall Review: ✨Aesthetic — 10/10 🥘 Actual food experience — 4/10 💸 Surprise shrimp pricing — 42/10 🧠 Waiter knowledge — “I didn’t know that was a thing” ⸻ ✍🏽 Moral of the story: When you go to a fancy restaurant… 1️⃣ Always ask “What do you actually eat when you’re off the clock?” 2️⃣ Confirm shrimp is not priced like real estate 3️⃣ Know that sugar apparently doesn’t cause diabetes in Dallas 😅 ⸻ Would visit again? Only if I’m not hungry and need a cute background for pictures. 📸🤣
This has to be the most overhyped and under-delivering spots in Texas. It should be criminal to provide such poor quality food at such a hefty price tag. The good: Good ambiance and wine list. Great complimentary bread service. The Caesar salad is excellent. Everything else is comedic and your money would be better spent at Olive Garden. The spicy rigatoni vodka was ridiculously sweet and mediocre. The lobster ravioli was better, but again lack luster. The filling was supposedly lobster but tasted and had the consistency of pork. The steak was inedible and the sauce was vile - I’m guessing vinegar and sugar? The desert cookies were dry and flavorless. The service was attentive, though their training must resemble that of a used car lot.
We had an extremely disappointing experience at Carbone Dallas that fell well below the standards associated with this restaurant group. We were seated and placed our order promptly, but were then ignored for over 35 minutes. No food arrived, no explanation was offered, and no staff member checked in during that time. The lack of attention was striking and raised concerns about whether tables that do not immediately order alcohol are deprioritized. When we requested a manager, the interaction was equally unsatisfactory. Rather than offering an apology or attempting to resolve the issue, the manager was dismissive and defensive, providing excuses instead of taking accountability or offering a solution. I have dined at Carbone in Miami, Las Vegas, and New York, where service has consistently been attentive and polished. This location did not reflect that standard. Compounding the issue was the overall atmosphere of the space, which felt oddly disconnected from the Carbone identity; more like a replica or imitation of the brand. The setting, located in what felt like an abandoned warehouse, contributed to the impression that this was a version of Carbone attempting to cosplay the real experience rather than deliver it. For a restaurant of this caliber, the service and overall experience were completely unacceptable. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to address what appears to be a significant operational issue.
Be prepared for sticker shock when the bill arrives. Had I known to ask about pricing beforehand, I likely would have reconsidered ordering certain dishes — particularly the yellowtail hamachi crudo. For roughly eight pieces, the $58 price tag felt excessive, especially given that the sashimi was overly salty. The oysters were similarly heavy-handed with seasoning. Another surprise was the dessert presentation. A cart is brought to the table displaying an array of tempting options — yet no prices are listed. It’s an effective sales tactic, as few diners at an upscale restaurant feel comfortable asking for prices in that moment. The result? A $25 charge for a modest slice of chocolate hazelnut cake. Rigatoni spicy vodka tasted like the store bought carbones spicy vodka sauce you make yourselves. For the price point, the overall quality and execution simply did not justify the cost. There are far better options — including smaller, independent Italian restaurants — where the food feels thoughtfully prepared and fairly priced. In my view, this establishment is more about the image than the substance: overhyped, overpriced, and geared toward impressing rather than delivering a truly memorable dining experience.
