Should've taken pictures,however, ate our dishes so quickly as they were each brought out nice and fresh. The dinner rolls are always so soft and airy. 😋 The chicken fried steak breakfast or dinner plate never disappoints. I also love the grilled salmon with lemon and caper sauce... muah...chefs kiss. 💋 This is your place if you're ready for a home cooked from scratch meal. Haven't really made it to try desserts as I'm usually always to full for anything else. 😅

Good ol' southern style cooking. I haven't had a bad dish, yet. I usually eat breakfast but have had lunch a couple of times. Portions are way bigger than they need to be, and everything is always cooked to perfection. The PIES are to die for! The staff is friendly and attentive. It's an American style diner, not a 5-star French bistro. But dang it's good! Highly recommend.

Seated quickly, then a friendly server came and she took my order. I had a burger with a fried egg and it was really delicious. I had a short time to lunch and appreciated her bringing my items and bill promptly. Thank you!

We only went to Chubby's because Google Maps said eclectic menu. So glad that we did. Their menu choices are extensive. I got the spaghetti and meatballs while he got the chicken fried steak. Both were pretty good. And our server, April, was one of the best servers that we have had. Checking in on us just often enough. We will definitely be going back there when we are in Dallas.

Home cook southern food that’s so good! We’ve been eating here for years.

We used to meet family there 20+ years ago at the old location. While visiting family in Garland, Chubby’s came out as a suggestion for lunch. And it did not disappoint. The Migas was exactly how it tasted twenty years ago and hit the spot. Breakfast was delicious for the rest of the party. Service was outstanding. The wait was appropriate considering we arrived after church let out in the area. We were able to hear each other while talking so the ambiance and environment was perfect for catching up. So if you are in the East Dallas lower Garland area and haven’t been there in while what are you waiting for.

Chubby's is the cafe that every other cafe is trying to be. It is simply perfect. Excellent breakfast, everything fried is top notch, generous portions at reasonable prices. The service ties it all together in what is consistently a fantastic experience.

Waitress was not very attentive. We had to call her over and over again. We also saw a lady waitress cutting the chocolate cake and licking the knife. This was the first time I took Mrs Daisy in 3 months and we're very disappointed in the waitress. Food is always so good and we would like to come back, but management really has to talk to wait staff. When you think no one is watching it is when we notice.

Breakfast is Served!  This is someplace I have never been before. But I can guarantee I will be back. This is what we had. My husband had chicken fried steak, cubed potatoes, pancakes, and a side of sausage. He said it was really good and he said this was the best chicken fried steak he has had in the area in a long time. I had a veggie omelette with grits, biscuit and gravy, and coffee. I was super impressed with this omelette. But I was more impressed with the grits! They were creamy and not grainy. Exactly how grits are supposed to be! Our waitress, Mireya, was great and super helpful with understanding the menu and what comes with what. The atmosphere was really welcoming. And the restaurant was really clean. Wonderful place for family dinner. Been coming here for years. I always order the Chicken Dijon. My favorite desert though is hands down the german chocolate cake. Super great waitress took care of us and was very pleasing and kind.

This place is a is cleaned and good food the waitress are always nice we had one young lady that was Anglo she didn’t smile at all was not available when we needed something, but we prayed for her she could have been having a hard day other then that everything was great.

Chocolate pie and coconut pie were 10 out of 10 will come back for that alone the rest of the meal you get great portions for the price would add pics but the food didn’t stand a chance

Chubby's can easily accommodate large parties with a variety of tastes. The server provided all orders correctly. We ordered the salad and the pot roast, grilled vegetables, okra, and more. Everything was a generous portion and delicious. My friend eats here regularly and this was my first time. We had no complaints and I would go back in a minute. Plus, they offer breakfast all day. There's easily food for everyone, no matter what you like, so much so I could eat a different meal for every day of the month! The restrooms were clean, too.

Had lunch specials, chicken parm and chicken fried chicken, we loved both, large enough portion we both took home some leftovers.

This family style diner has been a mainstay in Dallas for as long as I can remember. Their home style meals feature ample portions sizes and tasty food. Tonight I tried their Gyro plate. Although not quite as authentic as some of the Mediterranean restaurants I’ve been to, it was quite good. The French fries were amazing as was the Greek salad. My friend ordered her favorite—chicken and waffles. An added plus - the service was excellent.

Experts in home style food and service. Our waitress, April, was so very nice and helpful our entire meal. The environment is quiet and great for families and couples. Clean and well kept dining room with AMAZING food. 10/10 chicken fried steak and loved the rolls and cornbread for the table! Pleasantly surprised with our first time eating here and we will back 😊

Think IHOP, but with WAY less waiting times, better food and bigger portions. The inside reminds me of Dennis (though I haven't been to one in years, so don't ask me why), but with a ton of elderly folk. It's a great quiet (even when filled) place to take the family and enjoy a good meal. Order whatever appeals to you, and I guarantee that you will like it. Specifically recommend for those who just want a good breakfast.

A local diner with authentic country food 🍲. It is well worth the trip. Prices are reasonable and the food is much tastier than most chain restaurants. Service is fast and friendly. They even have whole cakes 🍰 and pies 🥧 to go or they sell them by the slice too. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Feels like a time machine back to the 90’s when plates costed $10 and the service was quick, warm, and friendly. Solid family restaurant to satisfy your greasy spoon. Patty Melt was one of the best I’ve ever tasted, totally unexpected.

Chubby's is a unique find in Dallas. The place has a unique vibe. At first it looks like a IHOP then a Cafeteria, or maybe it is both, but the food is great. Its very friendly for all ages. The menu is broad and most are American comfort foods. We ordered fried catfish which was excellent. The blackened fish was also good. Their homemade pies are the best.

I'm traveling for work and the hotel suggested I go here for a good local meal. I checked out the menu and the prices seemed very reasonable and it wasn't far from the hotel. I was greeted promptly and the hostess had a great smile. Jessica was my server and she was just as great. I got the chicken fried steak and it was very tender and a perfect amount of gravy. Jessica was very attentive without being on top of me all the time. Would definitely come back the next time I'm in the area. The corn bread was DELICIOUS!!

They have an efficient system, a wide range of options and very attentive and helpful staff. The place is huge and still packed during busier hours. Pictures this, an "American Food" diner, owned by a man from Greece, packed with locals who know where the really good food experiences are. What you won't get is fancy, trendy, or frou-frou. What you will get is a rather varies menu of American, Italian and some Greek dishes, done right in large portions. I've tried most of the menu, and everything I've had has been amazing. Spot on. The fried fish is crispy on the outside, firm and flavorful inside. The soups taste like your grandma's (you know, the grandma you like). All of the ground beef dishes have that off-the-grill flavor, the meat alone tastes better than most places, then they do what they do and it's just what you're looking for. Oh, and the desserts, the desserts, they're all as good as they look. You'll probably already be full, but get one to go. There's a reason Chubby is always full of regulars. Try a dish or two and I bet you'll be a regular also.

I’ve been passing this restaurant for about two years now. So I was craving biscuits and gravy so we looked online and found out that Chubbys has it. Came over and everyone was nice and friendly. I ordered chicken fried steak with eggs hash browns and biscuits and gravy. My boyfriend ordered the big steak omelette which was huge. Everything was seasoned and fresh! The biscuits and gravy hit the spot! The Pancakes were a hit as well! So fluffy. Will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend if you want a good home cooked meal!

The luncheon specials are good and the menu covers enough bases to satisfy most tastes. Friendly and helpful wait staff a hallmark of this real deal diner. The new menu at least as of 10/20/24 is pretty much the same but with some new flare. Same great service and quality.

I was surprised by the number of people there for brunch. Despite the restaurant being full, we were served promptly! Brought our baby and server was kind enough to give us the corner seat so we have space to park the stroller. All the servers are very friendly and helpful. Our food arrived in less than 10 minutes and the it was delicious. Hubby ordered french toast + biscuits and gravy and I had the Fisherman's seafood delight. Portions were just right (I finished my plate)! Restaurant is clean and service is excellent. Food is affordable too. Definitely well-managed. Thank you!

We were impressed with Chubby's home cooking restaurant as the food was excellent. The restaurant was very nice and provided cloth napkins with no table cloths. They have several homemade desserts to chose from as well. I had the chicken fried chicken meal which was perfectly breaded with homemade mashed potatoes and gravy and crispy okra for under $12. The waitstaff was on top of things, friendly and made us want for nothing. We definitely will be coming back to Chubby's in the future and would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Finally went here after driving by for so many years. I will definitely go back to try other items that looked really good. Ordered the steak and eggs with banana nut pancakes and the steak was wonderfully seasoned. Got a slice of red velvet cake. I would skip that next time. They use a whipped topping that reminds me of what comes on the cakes at Sam's or Costco. Not a true red velvet, so I would bypass that if you are red velvet fan. They were out of carrot cake but if it's the same type of icing I would just skip any cake. The wait staff service was slow and not as attentive. The air conditioning was set on cold when it was 80 outside. I will give it another chance.

CHUBBYS is an oasis of comfort 👍🏾 The food is delicious - burgers, breakfast plates, great sandwiches, deserts 😋 CHUBBYS is like that place that rhythms like "Wennys" but better. The staff are wonderful - they are all happy, friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere is relaxed and non-pretentious . I didn't know I needed CHUBBYS in my life, I do now ❤️❤️

The bread on the sandwich was so flipping soft!!! I've never had cream cheese on a sandwich but I did here and let me tell you... it was great. From the baked potato, the bowl of fruit, to the drinks everything was phenomenal. I look forward to experiencing the other dishes they have to offer. Great food all around and what's more is the phenomenal table service we received from a server named Sharon.She totally rocked it and knocked it out of the park. (The kind of service where you drink never stays empty long... if it evens goes that low). The prices are decent and truly a steal for the quality of the food. The restaurant is clean and the ambiance is relaxed.

Clean restaurant with a lot of space. I got the classic club(hubby ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast shown in the video and pic), which was tasty except for the very crunchy toast. I suppose I will have to specify very lightly toasted in the future, as one piece was burnt in the middle, and it was overall a bit painful for my mouth by the end. The flavor of the club was good, and their onions were very fresh, as well as their ranch. Thank you for that! The sampler appetizer was good. It had mozzarella sticks, steak fingers, chicken fingers, and onion rings. Decent price at $9.99, and you can almost get full just off that (for 2 people anyway). I also enjoyed their coffee.

Enjoyed a relaxing dinner with my neighbors. We tried the onion rings, fried okra, chili, fried fish and classic grilled chicken. All very good. Portions are sharable. Prices are reasonable. Our server was fairly new but was very Friendly and fun. We enjoyed her and she made our dinner experience better. We were so full that we had no room for dessert. Recommend Chubby's for good food and good prices. Next time we will save room for desserts.

We had a large party so the food quality varied widely depending on the dish. Chicken dishes were solid but not so for the veggies. The server was attentive l, but not a great attitude. For example, twice she didn't respond when I asked for something but she did bring it. The atmosphere was clean but a bit stuffy. I can say that the prices are great.

Food was good but the staff are thieves I accidentally left my phone on the seat of the booth. When I called and asked about me forgetting my phone the person that answered the phone said oh your daughter has already picked it up. First of all I don’t have a daughter. Second why would you give someone else the phone who is not the owner of the phone. I really feel who ever turned in the phone or given the phone called a family member and had them to pick up the phone. So whatever you do make sure you take all of your belongings!

Had a really , really not very good cheeseburger for lunch… it was 1:00 o’clock.. I was hungry and I ate half… I wanted extra vegetables… the girl said it would be a 3$ up charge… wow.. ok.. I give the hostess my last name “Cole”, guess she doesn’t speak enough English to comprehend, writes my name down as “Carl”, I then told her that’s wrong, and spelled it for her, so she scribbles through & writes it slowly as I re-spell it for her. So we set down on the front bench to wait… About 20 minutes later, I see folks being seated that came in and put their name on the list after we set down, so I make my up to the Hostess Station to see where we are on the list & my name is crossed off. Hostess says we’ll seat y’all right now. So another hostess asks that we follow her, the gal at the stand tells her to take us to “37”, we walk across the room to near table 37, a 4-top, to find there’s folks seated there, so I ask if we can be seated at the 4-top booth that was open ahead & pointed at it… at first she said okay, then we were led in the opposite direction and deferred to a two-top booth , so I told her that’s okay, that we’d just find someplace else to eat, because they can’t seem to get it together & proceeded towards the door. The hostess then got really snarky and told us “Thank you, have a really nice Father’s Day!” Two points here… First, an English speaking hostess kinda makes sense here based upon your clientele & locale. Secondly, maybe I’m wrong, but if you were going to seat a couple at a 4-top table & they request to be seated at a 4-top booth and signal in the direction of a vacant, clear one, why would you think they’d want to be seated at a 2-top booth? Maybe I’m, completely wrong here & was just got rubbed the wrong way, but 3-strikes, I’m out! Bet, I’ll take my business elsewhere where the customer service is more attentive… 🥳 Happy Father’s Day, indeed! Yours, Dad 😉

How are you gonna get onto the kids for playing with SOME of the jelly packets when youre just going to "throw" them away? This logic is so weird.

I specifically ordered chicken fried chicken which is mamas fried chicken breast. I asked all 3 ladies at the front to confirm it was chicken fried chicken available they said yes. The one lady wrote out the ticket then she let the other lady I assume was training rewrite and enter into system. Well……… They got it wrong they gave me chicken fried steak. I did not feel like going back in to tell them because I was tired from work and hungry. I’m upset because it wasn’t what I ordered.

I ordered the Fajita omelette I replaced the hash browns for tomatoes and requested wheat toast opposed to their biscuits. I drank coffee and water. I was EXTREMELY dissatisfied with the omelette!!! There weren’t any seasoning. The chicken tasted old and was dry . The cheese was placed atop the omelette only. The whole omelette was equivalent to eating greasy eggs with dried chicken on top with sprinkled cheese. The best part of the omelette was the avocados 🥑. The best part of my breakfast was the toast and avocado alongside the coffee and iced water. The waitress was polite and attentive. I regret not taking a picture of the food ughhh I usually always do ugh 😩 I really regret not going to LAKE HIGHLANDS Cafe . Their food is delicious !! You should try them you won’t be disappointed. The food here is mediocre at best. No complaints on service here. It has always been quick seating(small group). My recent visit pushed me to make a review. I have tried a breakfast platter,biscuits and gravy chicken fried steak, chicken & waffle, and fish&chips now. None of them were great they were just okay. If your tired, don't want to cook, want a decently priced meal that isn't fast food, I'd say it's an okay place to stop at. The fish n chips(13.29) wouldn't care to get here again. The fish was big and GREASY, so greasy it was unpleasant. There was no crunch because the batter around it was soggy and falling off. Disappointment. The chicken tenders with the waffle, the crust on it gets a little overcooked? Not sure what it is, temp too hot,oil, batter itself but it doesn't taste the greatest. My partner got it the last time we came and it was the same way today. I was hoping it'd be different b/c I was craving cracker barrels chicken and french toast but it was lunch time on a Saturday so no thank you to that wait. The waffle here was good though. Breakfast platter was good. Biscuits and gravy are decent. I'm a bit surprised there are so many 5 star reviews. I have been here 4 times and do not really care to come back. Unless I'm lazy and don't want to spend the money on one of my usual places. My partner grew up coming here, I had only ever passed by it. I only come back when he wants to. He has agreed with me after today's visit though. Food is mediocre.

Not a fan of New York strips, figured I would try it anyway ask for it medium well and it's overcooked with a lot of different seasonings non which contain salt totally totally disappointed that I couldn't even get the steak cook the way I requested. It is so tough I've had to transfer to a real plate and use a real knife because I'm at work and hungry argh

Order was completely wrong. No fries (yes we ordered fries), no tomatoes and they put tomatoes on it. Wife ordered a burger, received a sandwhich. Food was cold, and there was no flavor. For the price not worth it.

1st time at Chubby's and the only good thing I can say is that the waitress was very attentive and nice as well as the additional servers. The establishment and bathrooms could REALLY use a good cleaning (food crumbs EVERYWHERE, restroom trashcans overflowing, restroom doorhandles dirty etc.) and the menus where sticky and dirty. The food...left us with a BAD impression. Everything came out either cold or warm however, the cornbread was good.

I have been eating here off and on over the years but I have to say this place is no different than any other Truck Stop GREASY SPOON along the interstate. They can't seem to heat the food properly as many times its over microwaved or not heated enough. I'm disgusted with this place once and for all. Hard to understand waitress's and not overly friendly staff. Your better off at an Ihop or Denny's if you can find a decent one (maybe-rare) Over priced go find something better. Bad Attitude by the staff and the Owner!
