Typical bar food BUT cooked really well. ❤️It was very busy when I came in but gotta give it to these guys they were hustling food and drinks coming out very quickly I was vibing everyone was vibing. Looking forward to my next trip down. I ordered loaded fries and chicken Cesar wrap it was soo good. Thanks ❤️✌️

Standard bar but the food is excellent. Some people can get rowdy, unnecessarily but the bar staff deserve credit too. Definitely worth going to if you're in town.

Classic Dallas dive bar with really good food, service and vibes. The grilled cheese on sourdough is spectacular. No skimping on CHEESE. The onion rings are fat and well done. And they have a nice kick to them, probably from blackened seasoning. We LOVE this bar.

Casual, cool place to drink in unpretentious environment. Economical food and drinks. Can easily be left alone or chat with the patrons around you. They will have all sporting events on too. I ate both the tacos and chicken Caesars sandwich. Both were excellent considering the value. Mac is cheese is delectable too. If you are looking for fine dining or arts-fartsy drinks....this isn't for you. they are busy enough anyway.

The City Tavern is a great place! I haven't tried the whole food menu yet but I've had two or three different items and every time I order food there it is really,really good. No complaints at all. The bartenders double as servers so if you really are starving, wave at one or head over to the bar and order from them directly. This will definitely speed up the process! Great drinks, great bartenders and yes the atmosphere leans toward the locals but overall a very "Dallas,Texas" (and elsewhere) welcoming crowd.🤙

Cool little bar, menu had lots of American style options. Service was attentive and helpful, was our 1st night in the US so needed some help with beer selections! Only down fall was that the chips were cold. Would recommend

Not a bad venue for a quick bite. Came here for lunch after a conference. Ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap with a house salad. The buffalo wing sauce was awesome -- just the right amount of spice and heat. Ordered a local hazy IPA as well, just as tasty. I'd come back if in the area.

Cobb salad had like premade chicken everything else in the salad was good. The nachos were not good at all, cheeseburger was very good. Drinks were excellent, service was good.

This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The staff was incredibly rude and dismissive, acting like customers were an inconvenience instead of, you know, the reason they’re open. No apology, no courtesy, just attitude. The food was terrible—bland, poorly prepared, and honestly not even edible. To make matters worse, I found a hair in my food, which completely killed my appetite. As if that wasn’t bad enough, there were gnats flying all around the table and food area the entire time. It was disgusting and made the place feel unsanitary. Between the awful service, the nasty food, and the clear lack of cleanliness, this restaurant clearly has no standards. Save yourself the money and the frustration and eat literally anywhere else.

Worst place to eat in downtown Dallas! Me and my lady friends sat at a booth and experienced a ROACH crawling on our table and seat, they had already served us our food but when I showed the worker the video I took of the roach crawling in our booth he acted very nonchalant stuck his head and he didn't apologize or give a discount or nothing. What was the deal breaker for me is two of us order catfish on the menu the catfish was $12 but they charged us $18. This place have roaches and appears as if the owner and staff don't care because he sure acted like he didn't care that seeing the roaches spoiled our lunch so we got up and left. They could of at least comps our food for the inconvenience the experience was GROSS!!!!

Multiple people walked past us at the bar, made eye contact and didn’t even ask if we’ve been helped. It took almost 10 minutes to get service and keep in mind, there was only 2 other people at the bar that already had drinks. I was also served fish that was not done. The girl at the bar used her unwashed hands to sprinkle something on my food. I will never be back. Disgusting!
