Avis sur El Hoyo Dallas
I recommend the pork guisado, it was 5 stars. Meat was tender, tasty and had more meat than fat..also received a complimentary fideo soup that was very flavorful
The huevos rancheros are 🔥🔥 Great and authentic mexican food. Service was great and on point. The sopa de fideo tastes just like my moms. Migas were great too.
We had the Caldo de Pollo, both delicious both taste homemade. Delicious food, quaint little place in the middle of city. Hidden spot staff was super friendly. Highly recommend for actually authentic Mexican food.
I'm a Pozole fanatic! This place hit the spot! Pozole was yuuummy!! The food was great! Service was the same! Would definitely recommend it! 😋
This place is a true Mexican cuisine place!!! The food is authentically good and fresh. !!!
The food is GOOD, seasoned and tender beef. Really good yellow rice and beans. Affordable meal with nice service spent $30, would go again
The food, the service, the employees, the atmosphere ALL of this place is excellent. Very cozy, and delicious... feels like eating at someones momma's house.
El Hoyo (the hole) is a jewel of a hole in the wall waiting to be discovered. They are Mexican/Americans serving authentic Mexican food. And, it is delicious! You get pre-meal condiments of chips and 2 dips plus soup! The entrees are generous and beautifully presented. The quesadillas are HUGE! They have to cut them in half... and still, they are a double-handed mess to eat. So yummy! The servers are friendly and attentive. It helps to know a little Spanish, though it is not necessary. I am so lucky to live across the street! EDIT 10/31/21: Well, I got hungry today and ordered the Puerca en Salsa Roja... excellent choice! Served with the ubiquitous rice and beans and 6 corn tortillas... this dish filled me right up. There must have been at least 10 ounces of the tenderest pork imaginable on my plate. The salsa roja was actually moreno (brown), but was just the right amount of spicy. And, the pork was cut leaving occasional little pieces of ropy cartilage that are so fun to chew. Add to this the appetizers the El Hoyo always serves... tortilla chips with bowls of both salsa roja and salsa verde, plus a small bowl of sopa with noodles... and I had a very satisfying meal, both in taste and in all-important (to me) volume. I took a before picture to show the generous serving of meat, and an after picture to show the bones. Real meat!
Delicious family restaurant. Small cozy dining room close to Baylor Dallas. El Hoy Yo has been in business for a couple decades with plenty of delicious, reasonably priced meals. Highly recommended for a cozy spot in Dallas with excellent food and customer service.
Great service, great food servings, great price. Try the Mexican rice it's delicious.
This place is DELICIOUS, I recommend this place. The staff were nice too.

This place is DELICIOUS, I recommend this place. The staff were nice too.
All of the food is fresh and made to order. The handmade flour tortillas are light and authentic! We had the carne asada and mixed fajitas and recommend both. The soup that accompanied the dinner had a splash of lime that imparted a unique flavor.
This little hidden gem needs more recognition. I love the food and the staff is always so wonderful!! This is my go to even when I have meetings with attorneys this is where I meet them and they love a good home cooked meal 🤗
AUTHENTIC!!! The most DELICIOUS hole in the wall spot you can come to here in Dallas. You’re greeted with a soup that tastes like the one my grandma makes in Mexico. You can literally close your eyes point at the menu and whatever comes out will taste impeccable every single time. The cooks definitely love what they do in that kitchen. They come out and talk with the clients and are hilarious. Please come and support!!
the seafood soup was delicious, but the fajitas tacos not to much
Even though there was a small language barrier, the food was amazing and the service was also amazing. They were so kind and genuine. Will be back very soon!
If you are looking for authentic mexican comfort food this is place! I had the milanesa and it was delicious. I felt like I was in my grandmother’s house. Only thing I would recommend is homemade tortillas but the corn tortillas were still good. Amazing service too!
Had the most incredible menudo here today. The tripe was cooked to perfection not tough or chewy and all the cuts in it were bite size!!! The hipazote added extra flavor to the caldo. I'll be back for more! The wait staff was nice and friendly and were over attentive to all my needs.
This is just one of our favorite places to eat. It is a hole in the wall as the name suggests in a simpler part of Dallas but what makes it special is the very sweet and caring staff and the absolutely authentic Mexican food they serve up. It's comfort food and nothing fancy, but this is as like having an authentic home cooked meal made and served up with love. You will be treated like family - even if you can't speak the language. Go visit these folks, enjoy their amazing food. Don't let their simple decor and quaint appearance fool you.

Great food! Pozole is authentic Mexican, and the Menudo as well. Salsa de molcajete is by far the best I have had! The chef has special attention with the clientele and makes the food taste even better!

15$ for a plate is what I would expect to pay at a nice Mexican restaurant. The food is pretty good, but this is no Glorias or Matito's. Worse, they charge by the can. 2 cans of coke + a meal comes out to 20$. Then based on another review I thought to check my bank account and sure enough they charged me an extra 5$....Edit: So after the charge cleared the amount matched what my receipt said. So idk if its just something to do with their pos system or they just saw my review but I will add one star back.
Not worth paying 22 for a torta that mostly had mayonnaise inside it with almost no meat or vegetables in it that was also small and tasted like mayo only
