First time at whole food on Preston when I tell you the people are so friendly Mr Randmon was great he made sure I got the right price on my turkey wings
This review is for Eleanor at check out. We normally try to avoid this Whole Foods and shop at Natural Grocers because of the lack of helpfulness/kindness from staff but Eleanor was a ray of sunshine and we will keep coming back if there are more people like her here. Thank you Eleanor❤️
Updated 11/23/2025 The presentation of fresh veggies is as inviting as I've seen anywhere. At least when we visited on Friday morning. If I were an artist, I'd love to paint them. But I'm better at photography, so I grabbed several shots. The attention to detail on the part of the staff is striking. Not just in the veggie section but also the seafood. I don't know if the store managers compete to "showcase freshness and appeal the best," but this one would be at the top of my list. The fresh juice section was open, allowing me to enjoy freshly squeezed carrot juice. That's another point of difference for this Whole Foods as very few of the group's store offer that. Updated 5/22/2025 Went to juice bar, and happy to see it was open. Unfortunately, the young lady was busy and her back turned to us working on something. When she turned around, she advised me it would be a few minutes before she could serve me. She must have been working on something very important, because I had to stand around for a while waiting. In contrast, the fellow at the seafood section was most attentive. In fact, he was joined by a young woman who helped us with a second request he was working on the first. Also, Siti, a team member in the meat area not only immediately helped us find what we wanted, but she also did it with a smile. She's someone who seems to enjoy her work. You don't need to be a management customer satisfaction expert to recognize the team members at seafood and Siti at the meats section for their good work, and to remind the lady at the juice counter to acknowledge a customer and explain, for example, "I'm finishing another order, which will take about ten minutes. Will that work for you if I take your order and you return then?" ----------- We've been going to this location for years because it offers a wider selection of quality products than other Whole Foods markets. For example, the variety of fresh sea food with exotic dishes I didn't know existed. And you can choose from an amazingly large array of cheeses. And the staff is among the friendliest compared to other markets, including those run by WF. I'm not expecting this to happen now, but about a decade ago my wife and I were trying to decide which tomato sauce to purchase. We had one in mind, but we're sure. The WF team member noticed our dilemma, surprising us with this offer: "Let's open the one you're interested in, so you can taste it and decide." Yes, we liked it and bought it. But I'd be surprised if the current culture encouraged this. Update 9/21/23 Juice Bar, closed for many months, has reopened. You could hardly find a better juicer than Dino. He double checked our order and even got a message to us when the order was ready. Bravo!
I just love the way Whole Foods smells when you walk in. All those natural soaps laying around are amazing. Too bad I can’t bathe with them. But they make great soaps for hand soaps at the sink. They have sugar made it easy to do an Amazon return. I just walked in they scan my return and I walked back out. Well not without smelling all the soaps first. Lol. Oh yes and I almost forgot to say they recently re-mark the parking lot lines which was in dire need.
Friendly vibes and the freshest food in town! I absolutely love this Whole Foods on Forest Lane. The atmosphere is always friendly, and the food quality is unmatched—definitely the best and freshest in town. The variety in the meat and seafood markets is amazing. If you go, you must try the smoked Tequila Lime salmon nuggets; they are incredible. Also, the cheese department here is a total hidden gem. I grab their 2-year aged Parmesan Reggiano from Italy every time—it is the secret weapon in my Alfredo sauce! Bonus: The upstairs lobby areas are fantastic. They have excellent WiFi and are a great spot for community events or even tabletop gaming. Highly recommend!
Probably my favorite whole foods i have been to. Incredible selection, this place is massive. Great deals everywhere especially in steak. Most delicious honeycrisp apples. It is so friendly and welcomjng, i even saw a group of women playing mahjong together upstairs was very cool. Highly recommend.
I love this Whole Foods location—everything is incredibly clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. The store has all the departments you could need, from fresh produce and seafood to bakery, prepared foods, and specialty items. Staff are friendly and helpful, and I always find high-quality products. It’s a pleasure to shop here every time!
Whole Foods Market – Preston, Dallas, TX I enjoy shopping at this Whole Foods because it's always clean, and the staff is friendly and very helpful. It's the second closest location to my store—Park Lane is a little closer—but I like coming here because it’s in such a convenient area. Walgreens, Ulta, and a variety of eateries are nearby, along with other stores like Staples and more. It makes it easy to run multiple errands in one trip!
How adorable and personable. Excellent customer service and yummy smoothies everytime
Came to this whole foods location to browse around, it’s quite large and they have a really good selection. Definitely recommend!
A very nice lady made this pizza for me yesterday and it was AMAZING. It was half cheese and half mushroom/onion. She was telling me that she had a hard time making pizzas in the beginning, which is hard to believe because just look at this one! A+
Nice fresh veggies and food I scooped up these tamales there. Check out lanes are fast and lots of parking!
Went to take package back to Amazon. Easily found in front part of store.
Updated Review - This Whole Foods has removed the 10 items-or-less lines and replaced them with self-checkout stations. A vast improvement! I have not had any issues or delays. This is a great example of identifying an issue and addressing the customer service needs with a solution that works. Dear Whole Foods manager, in case you were wondering why there was an abandoned cart at the express checkout line last week... I’ll fill you in, as I approached the checkout lines I noticed two or three people waiting at each of the three open registers. A quick tally of my items - ten, yes express-line eligible. Delighted with my shopping expertise, I made way to express checkout queue. Whoa, another lucky break, I’m the first in line. However, there were no visible checkers in sight. No problem, I’m sure they’ll be back shortly, I mean the express lanes are always open, right? A couple minutes later and now two people behind me, I ask the Whole-Foods employee filling the racks at the end of the register next to me if the express checker was around?... My question was completely ignored. Another couple minutes pass and now four people behind me, I again ask the employee if someone was coming? Question is ignored again. Emboldened by the irritated looks on the faces of the people behind me, I said “excuse me” to get her attention. When she finally looked at me, I asked is someone coming to check us out? Her reply - “Do you see any of the lights on?” There were not. Clearly I was wrong in my assumption that the express lanes are always open, but by then, I was so frustrated I abandoned my cart and left and have not been back since.
This store is more spacious and has a better lay out that the Addison counterpart. I find everything from flowers to fresh fruits, baked goods, dessert and delicious entrees at the hot food bar.
Friendly staff and attentive. We actually forgot one of our grocery bags, and when I return to pick it up, the staff member shared that he restocked everything, but has a list saved. After 10 minutes I received all my items, and I was extremely pleased with the service and experience.
Love that there’s always someone ready to help. Super clean environment and great healthy products selection.
amazing i love all the whole foods i love their bakeries i love the sushi poke bowls
Great customer, picked up a few food items. Was in and out!!
One of my favorite places to shop! I have a huge collection of food allergies and I can always find tasty food I can eat here. Such awesome, helpful knowledgeable employees too! I interacted with at least six employees today and each one went out of their way to make shopping a great and friendly experience!
Whole Foods feels like stepping into a foodie paradise. Right when I walk in, I'm hit with the smell of fresh coffee, and honestly, it’s like someone already knew I’d need a boost before facing the day's to-do list. The layout is a dream – spacious aisles, perfectly stacked produce, and everything arranged with this almost ridiculous level of care. I grab a few things my wife has on the list (she has standards, and Whole Foods meets every one), and I find myself getting sidetracked by things I never planned to buy, like their house-made guacamole that’s somehow better than anything we could ever make at home. Shopping here makes me feel like I’m bringing home quality food, something my wife and I both care about. And hey, it's not just about the food – it’s an experience that gives me a little win for the day.
This is a great big Whole Foods and I love it so much. Great layout. Nice staff! Always has what I need in stock. I came here to attend a Spanish speaking club meeting help upstairs at 2pm on Saturdays! Highly recommend. Easy parking. Thank you!
Very well organized. Attractive displays. Higher pricing than other markets but superior quality, especially fruits and vegetables I shop here because of their excellent bread.
Very good place for almost all of your food needs with variety and quality. Reasonable prices and good service. One of my first choice place.
Probably the best Whole Foods I've been to in the Dallas area minus the food cold bar. Lots of choices: grocery, clothes, cosmetics, hot food kiosks. Don't eat from the open food bar. I saw flies within the open cold bar flying around.
Expensive place so I don't generally shop here, but this particular Whole Foods is very nice. Easy to find stuff.
This enormous Whole Foods is a sprawling testament to the chain's promotion of health and sustainability, though the sheer volume of choices can be overwhelming. While employees are helpful when you can find them, they're not always readily available. The self-checkout area's use of surveillance technology feels intrusive, with no clear information about how the recordings are used, who has access, or how long they are kept. On a positive note, the second floor offers a welcome respite, complete with tables, chairs, filtered water, a microwave, and a toaster oven, making it a spot to relax and enjoy your purchases.
Whole foods is typically consistent but I felt compelled to leave a review after this visit. The store itself was fine, but I had looked online for a couple of items and have screenshots that those items were in stock at this store. I immediately visited after that confirmation only to have those items and many more sold out. I also confirmed that there was not more in the back or a shipment to be unloaded. I am not sure where the responsibility lies in the inaccuracy of the online stock information, but this was extremely frustrating. I guess my advice would be to order online and wait instead of trying to get anything the same day.
The store has a great selection of flowers. Store employees are very kind. We wish the food bar would have better and fresher food.
3 stars for customer service, cleanliness, and selection. However, I just watched a lady pour new pasta salad on top of old dry bowtie pasta on the cold bar. She did not switch the old with new. She poured it on top. That explains why the salad I got the other day was sour and old. I passed on purchasing anything. I usually get a pasta for lunch. That is no longer a option.
very disappointed always get my cakes from here and the handwriting was not the best on this cake as it usually is:( the words were very messy and some letters you are barely able to make out… would rate this experience 2 stars but it did taste good but the handwriting definitely ruined it but this is so far my only complaint about whole foods all the other cakes i have gotten in the past were among the best.
I love the store, but stopped eating from their buffet. Went there the day after Thanksgiving and the food looked like leftovers. Went there again the next day and saw some of the same dishes from Black Friday. I won't risk it again.
I do love shopping at Whole Foods and the employees are very helpful. The last three times I purchased the apple cranberry tuna salad it tastes really bad and the quality of food it tastes bad at any grocery store you shop at The apple cranberry tuna salad use to be one of my favorites at Whole Foods..
Clean store! Friendly service! I did not find what I went there for! But was hungry and the salad bar looked delicious 😋! But $11.99 lb for a salad I cld grow a garden on that myself!!! 😂😂 But I got it anyways with no dressing which makes it heavier. (OH! they don't have plastic containers anymore its cardboard which to me makes it even heavier, but then maybe they are trying to save the climate is my guess 🤔)b/c of hunger pains. So I got the expensive salad and left! High end is the word!!
This store used to be the best. Customer service has dropped off substantially. No smiles and friendly welcomes. Juice bar closed for years, then opened a couple months ago for what seemed like a half second, then closed again. Cakes and pastries used to be best in the area, Now the offering is kind of a joke. Sad to see a once great store go downhill so fast...seems like they are just giving up...wouldn't be surprised to hear they are closing/moving soon
Very bad customer service. At least three groups of people talking between each other neither one of them cared that I needed help. I am sure that this is not a surprise for management since it was not just two people but at least six of them that had the same behavior. Disappointing.
I love this location due to its variety of products and so many different options. HOWEVER, what is going on with employees? I have visited in 3 different opportunities and I felt like if I was visiting the Dollar Tree store or Walmart. So rude and unkind! I was returning a product using my phone as a receipt and the lady was insisting that it was not a receipt and that I needed a paper receipt in order to return the product! And after trying to explain her multiple times that I had my Amazon app and she could just use that… She agreed and did not say a word! Did not even look back at me… Disrespectful!!
One star for customer service at the customer service counter. We walk up to a worker and she just blankly stares at us. We ask her for an Amazon pick up and she says next to nothing and walks away. she’s goes to the inventory area. SHE THEN WALKS OUT OF THE STORE LOL. then a much nicer guy gives us our order There are no sandwiches on demand. We walk up to what must have been an operational sandwich station in the days of yore. we look around for assistance. an employee behind the counter (but preparing ready mades) asks us what we need. we say we’d like to order a sandwich. she just replies “A17.” and we’re like no we want to make our own and she’s like yeah we don’t do that. prepacked only in A17. great, thanks… i mean for the price point you’d think you’d get a greeting and a deli sandwich made to order, back to central market we go
The vibe was off last week when we went. One worker in the front end (I think he was a CSR manager) bumped into me and my small daughter and another one in grocery almost ran into us while we were picking out sodas. No excuse me, No, how can I help you? I worked for Whole Foods in Richardson during college in 2011-2013 and I would never treat customers the way they treated us last week. If it happens again, I am contacting corporate.
The meat counter will give you the oldest cuts they have if you're not watching. I've had this experience every single time I come in to get ribeyes and new york strips. I got a ribeye the day before Thanksgiving and the next day it had dark spots, smelled off, and tasted bad. I made the mistake of trusting the meat department to give me a good cut. I tried today to get a refund, but because I didn't bring the bad ribeye the day of (on Thanksgiving) and didn't take a picture of it I wasn't eligible for a refund. I'm tired of getting bad cuts of steaks and having to be on top of someone to give me the quality I'm paying for. I'm not coming back to this location for steaks in the future. Stop pawning off bad cuts of meat to people and charging the same price.
The Amazon counter workers are some of the most inept and disrespectful I have ever encounter. If your job is too hard, quit and live on benefits. If you have to give me issues because you can't count, maybe go back to school and give your job to someone who actually needs it.
I was at guest services waiting for a while and the attendants at the Amazon desk looked at me like I had 3 heads and laughed. Are they employees of Whole Foods? And why would both attendants walk off at the same time leaving guest services empty? I was in line with groceries and saw them walk off. The employees of this store give the impression that they just don’t care.
Pastry never put out on time. *update* This is a persistent problem at this store, as witnessed again today. Do not come to this store early if you want pastry, they can't manage to have it prepared on time.
Cashier was very rude. Made me feel very uncomfortable. Felt because I was Mexican super obvious. Was my first time there not coming back.
I never stop at this Whole Foods but was in the area and it was lunchtime. I have always enjoyed the hot bar selections but not here. I second-guessed myself the entire time I was filling my bowl and totally regretted it. However, I felt obligated to purchase it because I didn't want it to go to waste and for WF to lose money. The dried-out enchiladas with no flavor that looked like they'd been sitting there for hours (this was literally 12:30), dry mashed potatoes, and a small piece of dried-up brown gravy meatloaf that had no gravy, cost me over $19.00. I'm back at work and threw it away - what a waste of money today and I have no lunch. Lastly, before I went to the hot bar, I stood at the pizza counter first and was ignored for close to 3 minutes before I walked away. Not one person at the sandwich counter turned their head to the right, offered to find someone, nada...worst customer service ever.
I went to this store yesterday to buy a large tenderloin, groceries and wine. They only had one tenderloin that was fatty, and the butcher absolutely refused to show me any options. He could not have been more rude. So rude I actually asked to speak to the store manager, and she could have cared less as well. I left my basket with over $500 worth of food, went to Central Market where they offered 3 cuts, choice prime, and grass fed, were happy to cut it and did so with a smile. Will not shop Whole foods again- Central market is so much better
The Amazon pick up/drop off is really hit or miss, sometimes they hire people who are totally useless. At this point make the whole thing a hub. A locker would speed it up…… Today an employee didn’t know what a pick up number was…….
I had a terrible experience at this location yesterday. I came to order a dozen oysters at 7pm and I asked the employee(Dan) if he could please shuck them. He then became very annoyed and complained about being asked to do it. He started talking about how his hands shake really bad and he could just point me to the location where I can buy the tool to do it myself. The interaction was so awkward and rude I left the store and went to a different location where the workers were very polite and helpful. If he(Dan) isn’t able to do all the expectations of his role in the seafood department then he should be put in a different area. Very disappointed in the service.
Used to love this location for their amazing floral department and helpful people. However, folks working at the register today were extremely slow and unfriendly. Made me feel like I was an inconvenience to them. We had an issue while checking out and it took 3 employees to ring us up and none of them seemed to care and were in no rush to figure things out. This location has really taken a dive. Glad Central Market is just down the street and I have never had a bad experience there. Have had several bad experiences at Whole Foods now.
