I've walked by this place for years... never once thought I wanna try that place... not until my girl Pam took me there for a quesadilla ... one of the top 3 quesidillas I've ever had... They have very Lil seating inside but they have a lil outside seating area with lights... Since that day I've gone back 2 other times.. If you like authentic Mexican food and great atmosphere come down to Old East Dallas and grab some amazing Mexican food...
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mami Coco is hands down one of my favorite spots in Dallas for real, hearty Mexican food. The tacos are absolutely delicious tacos fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Their flautas and sopes are standout dishes, too. The vibe is super warm and welcoming: it feels like you’re eating in a friend’s kitchen rather than a restaurant. Service is friendly and quick, and the prices are fair for such high-quality food. Whether you’re coming for brunch or dinner, this place delivers authentic flavors every time. Highly recommend!
Mami Coco is a hidden gem that delivers big flavor in a cozy, authentic setting. From the moment you walk up to the colorful mural and the inviting patio with bright orange chairs, you know you're in for something special. The tacos are incredible — fresh, flavorful, and made with love. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or sitting down with friends, the food and atmosphere make this a top-tier taco spot. The staff is friendly, the prices are great, and the "antojitos" (little cravings) truly hit the spot. If you're anywhere near Dallas and craving real Mexican street-style tacos, do yourself a favor and hit up Mami Coco. You won't regret it! 🌮🌶️💃🇲🇽
Mami Coco is the crown jewel of East Dallas. This place is the king. No question, these are the best street tacos I’ve had in Dallas. I usually come here once a week. I always get the three desebrado tacos, and then I switch it up with either cabeza, bistec, or fajita beef. The desebrado is perfectly seasoned and cooked every time. The flavor is unreal. They dip the corn tortillas in fat before grilling them, which gives them that perfect texture. Then they hit them with a big scoop of onions and cilantro. Simple setup, but it hits hard. This might be one of the biggest hole-in-the-wall spots you’ll ever come across. If you didn’t know what you were looking for, you might drive right by. But once you try it, you get it. The tacos do all the talking. I’ve had the chicken flautas too. They’re solid. A nice, nostalgic snack. I’ve also tried the quesadillas, which are really good. But honestly, you come here for the tacos. That’s where the magic is.
Oh how I love Mami Coco! If you have a hankering for authentic Mexican street tacos, get yourself over to this little hole in the wall. You will not be disappointed. I am torn between the fajita beef of the chicken for my favorite! They were recently crowned Best Tacos in Dallas, and they live up to the hype.
This spot has the BEST tacos I’ve had in the DFW area. I tried the taco spot across the street from them (the one with the yellow sign) and they were not that good. Mami Coco in my opinion is definitely better. The service was welcoming. The guy who took our orders was so friendly, had a beautiful smile and great customer service. If you love family cooking, when you walk into this restaurant, it feels like you walked into your Mamas kitchen just waiting to eat. The horchata was delicious. I ordered one steak and chicken taco. It was well seasoned with fresh everything in it. They have both flour and corn tacos. It’s small but authentic. A small family own business but the best hole in the wall spot for good tacos. They have outdoor seating and parking available. Would recommend & be back.
Came here for lunch with some coworkers and oh my were we surprised with how delicious these tacos were. It's a little hole in the wall place but the family who works there is super friendly and make some amazing food! I got the lengua tacos and my coworker got al pastor. Both had great flavor, fresh tortillas and great salsas. We got the pickled onions for a little extra punch and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend for those looking for soem authentic Mexican tacos.
Small hole in the wall place. Has a few bar seats inside and a patio in the front. The food has authentic taste and is always made to order. There is a variety of tacos and plates. The sopes are soft and the masa has flavor to it not dull. The guy on the phone forgot I was on hold for 10 minutes and I had to hang up and call again for an order to be placed overall highly recommend.
1000/10 tacos! Tripas, cabeza, al pastor, and carne asada — all cooked perfectly with lightly fried tortillas, fresh onions and cilantro, and incredible salsas I’d buy by the container. Friendly staff, quick service, and an ice-cold Mexican Coke made it perfect. Seating and location aren’t the best, but the food is absolutely worth the stop.
It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to find a place that reminds me of the street tacos I grew up with back in CA. I’m not much of a Tex-Mex person, so it’s been a little far and few in between since we’ve lived in TX where we’ve been able to find actual street tacos that we actually liked. This place did not disappoint! Thanks to the power of social media, this was a high recommended place and the best part… we didn’t have to wait until noon to enjoy tacos! Although their hours said 10am, be prepared to wait a little while because it doesn’t seem like they were quite prepared at 10am. I had placed an online order and it said it would be ready for pick up by 10:30, and unfortunately we didn’t get our food until close to 11. Nonetheless, the food made up for it. We an order of the Chicken Flautas which were delicious! It’s loaded with fresh veggies and their salsa paired perfectly with it. Then of course got the street tacos (Cabeza, Pastor, Mix Fajita & Bistek, and Tripas y Lengua). All were amazing! They did not skimp on the meat, and I love that we didn’t have to request for fresh onions & cilantro like we’ve had to do in the past. Meats Ranked from Best to Least: 1. Tripas y Lengua 2. Cabeza 3. Pastor 4. Fajita & Bistek Regardless of their rank, we will most definitely be back for more delicious tacos!
The Street Tacos have plenty of meat in them and are served with fresh limes, cilantro and onions. (mine are pictured without onions) They come with spicy red sauce and a refreshing green sauce. $1.99 each. Definitely worth a try. Like others have mentioned, the restaurant is literally a hole in the wall and the people who run it are super friendly.
Someone said this is one of the best tacos in Dallas?! 👎🏼👎🏼 I think fuel city got better tacos than this place. This restaurant is located in a run down plaza with homeless camping around the corner. They got seats outside the restaurant but I suggest you take it to go or eat in your car. Inside the restaurant looks dirty, the wall is dusty, the grill is filthy dirty. Not sure how they pass health inspection. They ran out of pastor maybe that would change my mind about this place? Chicken quesadilla was a decent portion but it was salty. Overall, if you are nearby give it a try otherwise don’t wise your time.
Uploaded picture for proof : I signed my email up to get free flautas as stated on their own website and they told me they’re not doing that . excuse me ?? Not even an apology for them refusing their own promise . A proper business plan would give them because that is what they are actively advertising - after me , take it down/ off !!! so no one else wastes their time money energy coming here and we can go to other places . So rude. Obviously will not be back. Taking emails to sell them to hackers I bet . Also $6 for a jarrito/mexican coke that’s double the going price .
Came in today 02/22/26 with my husband and toddler son and it was our first time. No greeting when we came in. No acknowledgment, just staff in the kitchen on their phones. No direction on where or how to order to we saw the kiosk by ourselves. We ordered some tacos. When the food came, the short lady with short hair and glasses looked like wanted to be anywhere else but there. Minimal communication and ni un buen provecho for our meal. The tacos were average at best. On our way out we didn’t get a thank you or come again just silence as if we were bothering them with our business.
Waited over 30 minutes for an order of tacos and there was absolutely no one else in the restaurant. They prefer to talk among themselves more than to make the actual food. Will definitely not be coming back.
I’m honestly so frustrated and disappointed right now. As a fan of this place, I usually go to their second location in Dallas, which has always been fantastic. Today, I was excited to visit the Samuel location since it’s closer to home, but wow, what a letdown! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a lady who clearly didn’t want to be there. It felt like I was doing her a favor by ordering! I specifically requested everything on the side because my husband is a picky eater, but what I got was a jumbled mess with everything smeared together. The food didn’t taste fresh at all, which is completely unacceptable for a place I’ve loved in the past. To top it all off, I was charged for an arroz con leche that was never even added to my order! Needless to say, I’m done with this location. I’ll be sticking with the Dallas spot from now on, where I’ve always had a great experience. What a disappointment!
Decided to try this place cause of the good reviews but definitely will not be going back. The prices for the quality of food are not worth it. The lady is very rude, no customer service whatsoever. She told us to use the kiosk to place our order so we did and then she said we didn't pay which we clearly did, showed her the transaction and then she found our receipt and proceeded to tell us our order and said I only ordered one thing, which I didn't she was not reading the receipt entirely and then after she finished and she confirmed my order she proceeded to be rude as if she did not want to complete our order. I will definitely not be going back to this place, wish I would've saved that money for something else. The burrito was full of vegetables with very little fajita. The quesadillas were all cheese and maybe a few pieces of fajita. Wish I could give this place -0 stars. The lady really needs to work on her customer service skills.
