The food by far makes up for the casual atmosphere. The meals are a great price (couple size meals). Everything is hot and fresh.
Went once a few years ago and wasn't pleased so didn't go back. Recently decided to give them another try. Now I have to force myself not to go more than twice a week. Sometimes you order something expecting it to be different. But now I order the hot and sour soup with either the shrimp lo mein or with combination fried rice with extra egg. You get value for the price.
Best food have never been disappointed. Servings are great. Worth the money.
After so long of looking for a good Chinese take out spot, I have finally found one. The portions are not only generous they are delicious! My partner is so picky about take out food and he absolutely loved this place. We will continue to be back and order from here and I have already made sure to tell my people this place is worth the try. So yummy!
My family has been coming here for years. My husband always gets the Combination fried rice and adds extra shrimp. The portions are very generous. The service is fast and the taste is very satisfying.
I had been coming here for years ,then I moved away from the area. Yesterday I came back to the area to visit & I had to stop to my favorite Chinese of all time. Let me tell you how great and amazing the food still is up to this day . They’re consistent on their food their portions and what’s even better is that inflation has obviously not affected them because the portions are big and they’re still the same price as they were probably 10+ years ago. They are amazing. You guys have to try this place. It seems like a little hole in the wall, but it’s not it is great. The customer service is great. Your food comes out quickly. It is just so delicious. I had the salt and pepper shrimp , the generalTso chicken, crab raggos, hot and sour soup.
Food was SO GOOD! The wings are INCREDIBLE! That said, I ordered the human beef with extra baby corn and scallions but somehow I got a combination with beef, chicken and shrimp and my fiance is deathly allergic to shellfish. I shared a bite with him not knowing there was shrimp in the dish. Big oof.
I had a craving chicken fried rice so I stopped in Moon Wok. The atmosphere or vibe seems a little off, but the value, quality, and portion size quickly make up for it. I ordered the lunch special chicken fried rice that included an egg roll. I believe the price was right around $10. I was shocked on how much food came out on the plate. I was only able to eat about half of the rice and the egg roll. Took home enough for lunch the next day. The menu is simple and includes all of the expected Chinese classics. Counter service was simple and quick. My meal was prepared on order and served hot and fresh in just a few minutes. Definitely adding this place to my lunch rotation.
I have been coming to Moon Wok for quite sometime. I usually just come here for take out Mogo Gai Pan and Chicken Eggrolls. I just love their food. I would really suggest that you try their foods. The serving portion is really good for the lesser amount of money you will be paying for. This time because I am starving, I caught their Lunch Special. For less than $10.00, I ordered Chicken with String Beans, Steamed Rice and with Chicken Eggrolls. Bon-appetite!
First time trying Moon Wok and I ordered the chicken lo mein spicy, it was literally so delicious and good. Everything was cooked fresh, the spicy sauce was flavorful, not too spicy or overbearing, and the portion was big enough to share. The restaurant was clean and the servers were very nice and helpful. Definitely rate 10/10 and will be returning.
This is by far the best affordable Chinese restaurant I know of in the Dallas area. Generous portions with generally excellent quality; it is the portion/quality/price point that really stands out here. Although the menu is reasonably extensive, the seasonings are generally fairly similar (and again I will say reliable). I will also reinforce what some of the other reviews noted (i) the fried rice is a real winner if you like fried rice and (ii) some of the dishes tend to have too much sauce in them. Final note: the food is not heavily seasoned like Hunan/Sichuan can be but more like Cantonese/Taiwanese in general (even the dishes with cayenne pepper in them).
It was nice of this place to be open during the winter storm however the $$ you spend on this food is notttttt worth it. It taste like day old dry food. The orange chicken specifically. However, I will say the lo mein was decent. SAVE UR MONEY PPL
They are so petty , we always come here and today I asked for waters , my wife wanted a coke and before making it to table they came and slapped a 3$ receipt for a tiny cup of coke. Hope the 3$ was worth a good customer , ridiculous. Edit: i just want to clarify i never intended to not pay for the coke, it was the way they acted in an accusatory manner and the passive aggressive way of dealing with the situation.
