PhD is a wonderful place to chillax. Be sure to find Mel, she makes you feel very welcome. Most definitely will be returning. This was the perfect place to celebratey graduation from school. PS Tony the bartender knows his bar business. Makes excellent adult beverages.

This is my fav sports bar. It's got lots of screens that play a variety of sports. Catch the UFC, basketball, hockey ext. The food is awsome, nice size portions. Layed back atmosphere makes fun place get together casually with friends. Wait staff is attentive. Music is cool, aternative rock mostly. More an adult atmosphere. I wouldn't bring young kids.

Great selection of craft beers and a perfect place to watch a game. Our server was very helpful with suggesting different beers and letting us try a sample before ordering. Thanks for letting us take up a big table with only 2 people for 3 1/2 hours.

Went here for lunch just now. Had one small mishap but is definitely over looked by the amazing service from both the manager and the waitress. The food was great having chicken for me and my wife. Everything was great. I had the PhD burger and damnnn!! The sweet potato fries are legit, too. Glad we took a detour. The initial goal was to go to Old Hag, but we passed the parking and turned into PhD. The atmosphere looked more our style.

Alex was wonderful! We ordered take out and she was super nice on the phone and in person! We walked our dog there to pick up the food and even though he barked at her (he’s socially awkward) she offered him water which was super sweet. We love this place and it’s always a great experience!

Tony and Tabatha were great. Service was perfect. We had smash burgers, hot dogs and onion rings. All the food was very good with an honorable mention to the string onion rings! Yummy!

Only had a few beers on the patio. Patio was very nice and big with a good many of TV's. Fans to keep you cool. Drinks reasonably priced. Extremely dog friendly which is a super plus. They even have a dog food menu. Will come back again for a full meal. Opens at 10a on weekends with brunch menu.

We went there as a very large party; they accommodated our whole team; our server Christie K, amazing! Our food, outstanding and fast. So many people from the staff came by to assist with food delivery and drinks making everything come out so fast. Super comfortable atmosphere! Thank you thank you, for hosting our softball team! This was my first time visiting PhD, and I attended with our softball team, The Pride, for a team social. The space is great; they have an adequate amount of indoor and outdoor seating options. The environment wasn’t too loud, making it a perfect setting to connect with my softball team. Our server, Christi, went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. She is the definition of awesome! The cherry on top of the experience was the food - you get what you pay for: large portions of quality food! Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back again. ☺️

Came here for a date night. The place was quiet with good music. The service was quick and staff was friendly. We ordered a burger with fries and the fries were crispy, seasoned waffle fries!!! They were so delicious and so was the burger. The patty was well seasoned and flavorful. Would definitely recommend this place. We also ordered alcoholic drinks, the Mexican Candy and a Bahama Mama, both were delicious.

I loved the food. PhD has Great burgers and the Yam fries that I enjoy with a dash of salt & pepper is to write home about. Only downside is that I am going to eat there on a warm day the building is very drafty. Lastly they have a game for the children that dine, it's a stack the wood until the gamer has none without a collapse most don't succeed resulting a very loud crash.... to be My suggestion coloring books!!!!

We love to come here with our kids. It's in the neighborhood and clean. I would of given it a 5 star but feel the new wait staff is really bad. Like really bad. But we keep coming back for the food and ambiance. I just need to look at who is working what area to get the gals who have been there for awhile for they are amazing!

The food here was good. The burger was cooked perfectly and they are flexible in how you build your burger. The one thing I didn't like were the coed bathrooms. Probably one of the dirtiest grossest toilets I have had to use in a while.

Food is just okay, but the drinks are good and they run a lot of nicely priced drink specials. Service has been solid for all three of our trips. Quick and attentive. Gets a decent crowd so it’s nice to come and hang. The patio is also nice and large

Walked in and sat down, was greeted immediately. The waiter Nick was very hospitable, great attitude and sense of humor. It was happy hour so the drinks and food was cheap. Drinks needed more liquor but hey its happy hour so at $3.50 you can buy 20 but the rep for Yuengling Taylor was there and gave me a free beer, food came out quickly and they were great well seasoned and hot. Lemon Pepper was a little salty. The queso and beans though goodness was great, make sure you dip the chips on the queso first and then the beans

Alyssa (Wednesday) was awesome.. we requested her to be our waitress after ours disappeared on us..we were there two nights in a row..on first night bailey was our waitress..very inattentive and not welcoming at all!! The next night we were there we got stuck with her again..but this time she disappeared with some guy and barely cared to wait on us. We seen her taking shots rt when her shift started..so instead of staying there with terrible service we requested Alyssa who was very attentive to her customers. She was awesome..made our experience 1000 times better than what we were already exposed to.

The menu is pretty much hit or miss. Don't order their nachos. I think they need to revisit their recipe. Their wings are mediocre. Not much meat on them bones. The salads are not very good. However, they have a great burger called the Hangover Burger served with a side of fries. The chicken tender basket is pretty tasty. Chicken tenders are crispy and seasoned well. The staff is attentive and very friendly. Good selection of local beers on tap including Velvet Hammer. Large patio is open and spacious.

It was okay. The food was good, just what you would expect from a sports bar. The waitress was something else though. My friend can’t have cheese (has to take pills and everything to not get sick), asked for a burger with no cheese, waitress repeated the order twice, burger showered up with cheese. I asked for bbq wings, got Buffalo the first time. Got bbq the second time tho!

Good Sports Bar, Poor Restaurant. The atmosphere was pleasant and it appeared most people were there to eat before going on to other venues. That might have been the problem. As a sports bar, it was great. Lots of big screens and different events on each one. People were certainly enjoying the bar. I was there 40 minutes after I ordered and I only saw one couple get food. When the waitress apologized for the delay and told me there were a lot of tickets in the kitchen in front of me, I cancelled my order and went home hungry. The live music was nice and the open air feeling was nice in a busy area with lots of foot traffic. People watching was fun.

I’ve really tried to give this place a chance 3 times with their food and it’s just terrible. DO NOT order the beef tacos, the meat is not edible. The burger isn’t great either and neither are the wings. However, it is a great place to just come have a beer and enjoy the vibe and street views. It is clean. I also like that they have a dog menu and offer doggie water bowls. Good atmosphere just very very terrible food.

My wife, daughter and brother went there tonight because we were attending a concert at the Kessler. I heard the burgers were great and they were. But the atmosphere was pretty average. Tarped off outdoor areas and an inside bar and medium sized indoor seating area where they were playing trivia. Looked like they were having fun. The waitress messed up the drink order and was vaping the entire time while she apologized for taking so long to get he drink order. She didn’t know the menu that well either because when I asked if I could switch my cheese on the burger with cream cheese to pepper jack. She said we don’t have that but can do cheddar. Anyway the food was really good but the service was terrible and the atmosphere average.

First and foremost, food was good, server was nice and the atmosphere was as expected for a busy day as we went for the first time today forgetting the Mardi Gras parade. I regret not looking up reviews and also not checking my receipt when I was paying but this establishment uses a hand kiosk to check out so you can’t exactly see a receipt. My server read out to me my order as well but the amount didn’t quite add up but with how busy it was and my autistic son wanting to leave, i paid, got a receipt via text and left. So I noticed an extra “delivery fee” charge on my receipt unfortunately after I got home. Called and the women on the phone sounds so “confident” with her reasoning as to why they charged the fee. First thing she is saying is it was a technical error that occurred on everyone today that they ‘noticed’ but then said after trying to explain herself said it was done for the Mardi Gras parade happening on Davis today and to quote her “make it easier for everyone” applied that amount on everyone’s tickets today as it is applied to large groups or parties and that it only happens on big event days. Mind you, it was just me, my son and his dad. Just three of us. And I asked if this is a normal fee and she says only on big event days. Her voice just gave off nervousness and timid the entire call trying to provide a plausible reason to my questioning of the charge. And now I look at a review on here days from six days ago and someone else was charged additionally too. First time going here and always wanted to try it as I’ve lived here so long and always passed by but after that “confident” phone call, looking at reviews and seeing and speaking with others that have had the issue occur to them as well on non busy or event days, I don’t see my family or myself going nor will I recommend it to anyone either. It may just be $10 or $30 like the other person in the review but for some people that’s an hour of their life and in this economy it’s a lot. Obviously this place is thriving as it is because of how often this occurs and they get away with it. I hope someone sees my review which I will be putting on other platforms as well to spread awareness to check their receipt before paying at this establishment.

The restaurant itself is cute. The menu is misleading. A "traditional club with choice of side" is not that. The sandwich is spicy. With zero acknowledgment of it. I'm very glad I'm not allergic, just sensitive to it. And the waitress seemed like she was over it all. I ordered sweet tea and got unsweetened. When I mentioned it to her she said "yeah, that's why I gave you sugar packs." Ma'am. That's not how this works. Would have been better to have known when I ordered it and also to have gotten a refill on what I ended up with. I wanted to complain to the manager but with the service we were already getting, I didn't want to even attempt waiting on that. Oh well. Lesson learned.

Nasty attitude from an employee, at the bar I was there to see a Chelsea vs Arsenal game, she was very rude and slam the straws on the table, just nasty employees for no reason. Bad energy avoid if you options and you want a good vibe.

I had not been here for a while. last time I was here the food was delicious. I ordered the carne asada tacos. The tacos were good but the refried beans had a terrible after taste. The rice was soggy. It appeared that they were prepackaged or they came from a can. I told the waitress and all she said was “ok”. She took my plate and never mentioned it again. She never came to refill our drinks. She looked like she was new. I paid almost $80 to eat mediocre food. I will not be returning.

Poor Service and Staff. The waitress did not know what beers were which...domestic, wells etc. for happy hour. She brought a bottle beer instead of draft. She rarely came to the table. We asked for another beer and it took almost 15-20 minutes before she came with it. Keep in mind it was very slow for them. She than charged us regular price instead of happy hour prices. We asked for the manager and the manager couldn't even come talk to us so it could get fixed. Definitely not going back.

Low quality customer service. The waitress never cleaned our table like she said she would. I ordered a beer which was too flat to enjoy. The other drink we ordered was incorrect. We asked for a Berry Simple and received a drink that tasted like watermelon. The waitress didn’t believe us and didn’t get us the correct drink. We never received the condiments we asked for with our food. Service was also slow during a non busy time. The food was ok, but I wouldn’t come back.

Went for some food and drinks with my family me and two separate people on the table got our checks modified to charge us more after a couple days I noticed an extra $30 charge on my account from this restaurant as well as two other people that were having dinner at our table this place has something shady going on will not be returning here

We there after the Mardi Gras parade. Placed an order for wings with the waitress . It was a packed house due to the parade but after waiting over an hour for our food which was a simple order of wings. I had to look for the waitress. To check on our food she came back and said it was supposedly delivered . I told her we never got our food she went to talk to the cook came back said the food was made cook was arguing with her about making it again. I just said never mind asked her to refund my card she still had the nerve to charge for a soft drink after they messed up. Never again

We were having a great night with good service at first, but our experience took a shocking turn. A man named Tony, who appeared to be working at the bar, started yelling across the restaurant at our table, loudly telling us that outside food wasn’t allowed. His tone was extremely rude and unprofessional. I apologized to him multiple times, calmly asking him to lower his voice, explaining that there was no need to scream. Instead, he escalated the situation, walking from the bar to our table in a confrontational manner, as though he was looking to start a fight. Even after I took the food back to my car, he continued yelling at me. No one should be treated like this at a restaurant, especially when they’re trying to enjoy an evening after work. This situation could have been handled completely differently, with a simple and polite conversation. Instead, I was subjected to shouting and intimidation, which is unacceptable. If anyone else has had a similar experience with Tony, I encourage them to report it. A restaurant is meant to be a place of hospitality, not a hostile environment where customers are treated so poorly and aggressively. Thank you for taking the time to respond, but I’d like to clarify some points. First, it was not my husband involved in this situation, and there was no Domino’s delivery. I’m confident your cameras will confirm this. To provide some context, my party and I came to your restaurant to celebrate a new job. We ordered several appetizers and had a great experience initially. One of us stepped out to our car, which was parked directly in front of our table, to grab a Domino’s box for leftovers. We brought the box back inside briefly, and that’s when the bartender began raising their voice. I immediately apologized, explaining that we were simply packing up our leftovers. We weren’t consuming outside food, nor did we intend any disrespect. I understand policies are in place, but this situation could have been handled with more professionalism, especially as it was our first time at your establishment. Once again, I urge you to review the cameras to see what happened. There’s no “two sides” here—just a misunderstanding that escalated unnecessarily. I hope this feedback helps you refine how similar situations are addressed in the future.

Sat down and employee just stared at us and walked by. Went to the bar to order and the bartender just kept washing glasses for over 5 minutes and ignored us. 15 minutes here and couldn't get service but watched the bartender wait on other folks she obviously knew. Definitely won't go back.
