We really enjoyed our visit. There is an excellent selection of seafood and the flavors are both delicious and intriguing. We had Arctic Char with a Honey Sriracha glaze. The atmosphere of the market and restaurant makes this little spot a unique and elegant stop. Over all a wonderful experience!

I’ve driven by this restaurant for years and honestly regret not stopping in sooner! I finally went during happy hour and was very impressed — the draft beer selection was great, and the happy hour oysters were fresh and delicious. I also tried the vongole pasta, and it completely exceeded my expectations — honestly, I liked it even better than the ones I’ve had at Eataly. Everything was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care. I’ll definitely be back, and probably often! Rex Seafood has officially become one of my new favorite spots.

I have been going to Rex's Seafood and Market for YEARS! Their seafood and sides are always so fresh and never disappoint. You can tell that they pride themselves on letting the freshness of their ingredients shine through. Some of their stand out items for me are the Chilean sea bass, lobster roll (both Connecticut and Maine style), spinach, grits, and their fish tacos (I typically opt for the catch of the day). What I can confidently say is that you won't go wrong with anything you order on the menu. 10/10

We stopped in a spur of the moment decision on a Friday night. They did not have any tables available but there were seats at the bar. The service was fast and efficient. We started off with a jumbo crab cake which was a special of the day. The crab cake was perfectly prepared with a tangy mustard sauce. For our main entrees, the wife had the fish and chips and I had another special of pistachio encrusted turbot. The wife's fish and chips were incredibly good and I thoroughly enjoyed the turbot. My sides of red beans and rice and jalapeno poppers were all delicious. For dessert, we ordered the bread pudding and it was delectable. My wife said her fish and chips were the best since our favorite fish and chips we had in Newport Beach in California. We would definitely go back when we are in the area!

Excellent preparation and service. All seafood tasted so fresh. We arrived without reservations and had to wait 45min but it was worth it. We ordered the CT lobster roll, red fish, and blackened shrimp alfredo. All were absolutely excellent. For dessert, we had key lime pie, creme brulee, and cappuccino pie. Will definitely visit again to explore more of the menu.

We were celebrating a friend's big accomplishment and wanted to grab lunch. As a group of 8, we didn't think much of it. The firat 3 restaurants that we tried could not accommodate all 8 of us at one table. So we finally called Rex's and they could squeeze us in. We were lucky they did. For apps, we ordered the oysters, escargot, and bacon wrapped scallops. Everything came out flavorful and perfect portions. The gumbo and chowder hit the spot, as a cold front just moved in that morning. We all shared plates, so we order the crab pasta, sea bass, lobster rolls and some king crab legs. Entrees were all very good. All in all, a great experience and highly rwcommended.

First time visit and man were we excited. We have been meaning to come out but kept forgetting. The food is the star of the show although the atmosphere is very homey and inviting. We started with the spinach and artichoke with crab dip paired with the tuna nachos. The crab dip was solid and the tuna nachos were good. I'm not a big fan of Wasabi so that shaded it a bit for me but didn't stop me from destroying 3 of the 5 from the dish. Since we were here for happy hour I ordered a half dozen oysters (places like this it should be mandatory I feel) since we were here for HH. Not being knowledgeable enough to desern the beat to choose. The Jimmy fund gold and mere point were the tops, Barnstable was a solid 3.5 of 5, mere point was good however sex on the beach being a little disappointing. We ordered the black cod with grits and broccoli and the lobster roll Connecticut style with black beans & rice, sweet potatoes and added jalapeño puppies. Brooooo. That black cod literally melts in your mouth. This was the absolute best cod we have ever had which is saying something. The lobster was phenomenal and while the brioche bun was good, it comes off a little dry so I'd prefer just eating that lobster alone. Trying the salad version next time. The last item for the night was creme brulette and peach sorbet. I was disappointed the creme brolette wasn't lit of fire as I love that presentation but was so good. The peach sorbet was meh. Not a recommendation tbh especially when compared with the creme brulette. We are definitely going to be back sooner than later because there are too many good things to eat in one visit (but I tried). Round 2: fight! Oh boy! So we started with one of the specials with the tropical ceviche which was fire! I checked off the “future Tim” the bacon wrapped scallops. Eh. 3.5 out of 5. The bacon was a bit overpowering. The scallop was wonderful but for $26 for 3 scallops it moved to the “probably pass” list. The Paloma and house margaritas were fire. I had the red snapper with dynamite sauce with the butter squash and broccoli slaw. Delicious. The broccoli slaw was nice and spicy with the sriracha mix. Mom got the special with the deluxe steamer bowl: 1/2 lobster, crab claws, shrimp and scallops in a leek and tomatoes broth and fettuccini. Finished it off with another creme brûlée. Stick a folk in us son. We’re done! lol. Until next time! Things to try next time future Tim: Cobb salad Seafood gumbo Yellow fin tuna (hold the horseradish) Fish and chips

This is another restaurant for you to call home... this is a most def for all of my pesci besties (pescatarians). It kinda has a retro diner feel with modern day pricing (lol). The drinks were pretty strong (which is always good) and if I had to guess, everything was fresh. I have to return just to try every fish on the menu. And you can all purchase fresh fish to take home and cook for yourself. They have daily specials and a friendly & knowledgeable staff. Nothing we had was a disappointment. This is a true definition of comfort food...

Let's start with the service, it was outstanding! Greeted by the hostess as soon as we walked in and got a nice booth. The waitress was phenomenal and very attentive without being pushy. We got off to a bit of an odd start when the first two things I ordered to drink were not in stock, but after a few minutes I noticed a board with a beer I absolutely love on tap! Now let's get to the food, my wife ordered the sushi grade seared tuna, fries and broccoli and it was delicious! The fries were seasoned perfectly, the tuna was cooked to perfection, and the broccoli was steamed with care. I had the Parmesan crusted trout(the meat pulled off the skin easily and they deboned it), with cheesey grits (crazy creamy and cheesey)and collard greens(slightly acidic with some bacon and crazy deep flavor like someone loved me and wanted me to enjoy this dish), and I'm going to admit that I haven't been to a restaurant in too long where nothing needed salt, but this place just gets it!. I never touched the salt because I was too busy inhaling the plate of food I ordered and was so happy to be at a restaurant that understands that fine dining can be done perfectly in a casual setting. This place has flown under my radar for far too long and I must recommend you eat her as soon as you can. I also went to the fish market for some red fish, and the first guy was too busy taking to a guy about Rodeo Goat and his favorite burger to help us, but then Ryan(I think, he has a solid mustache) came to and was very friendly and helpful. We ended up getting some salmon dip and crackers to go along with our red fish, I really can't say enough great things about this place. 10/10 would recommend all aspects of this restaurant.

This place is one of the best kept secrets in dallas! Im seriously debating filling this review out 😆 made reservations for a party, was seated and served instantly. This place gives 5 star restaurant vibes with the friendliness of a mom and pop. All of the food came out amazing, there was many choices of oysters as well as high end fish! I spent less than 25 for myself and when I left I felt like I should've paid so much more. 10/10 would go again and again. If you liked this review shoot it a like!

Quaint location that is a combination fish market and restaurant. The select of fish is impressive and as you would imagine all the appetizers and entrees are super fresh. The tuna tartar was a standout. They had fresh Alaskan salmon which I opted for my entree. Both were good.

So first of all, if you enjoy freshly chucked oysters as much as I do, this is one of a handful of restaurants still chucking oysters to order. I really, really appreciate that! More and more restaurants are moving away from that, and although I understand the reason behind it, I personally hate it. They have a wonderful selection to choose from, or you can just tell your server what you like and they can choose for you. I think their menu is delicious, especially the steamer bowl, tuna nachos, seared tuna.....hell, I can just keep going! It's all delicious!! If you've not been, you probably don't live close by so, make the drive. It's worth it!

Our visit to Rex's was absolutely phenomenal - drinks, food, and service were all top-tier. High five to the team! The cocktails were perfectly crafted, strong, and balanced. When I mentioned I preferred my second drink without sugar syrup, our server immediately had it remade to my taste - such attentive, proactive service is rare and deserves praise. Rex's truly knows how to take care of their guests. We enjoyed the tuna nachos, smoked salmon appetizer, and redfish with beans & cheesy grits - every dish was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The restaurant’s location is convenient, with plenty of parking and a cozy, welcoming vibe. Pro tip: book a reservation, as it’s busy every day of the week. Price-wise, it’s not cheap, but the exceptional quality of food and service makes it well worth it. Will we be back? You bet, count us in!

The lobster roll was the best I've ever had. The bread was toasted perfectly and the sauce was so tasty. Those crab claws were out of this world and the Mexican Shrimp Cocktail was delicious. We were seated quickly and our server never let our glasses run dry.

It is one of the best seafood restaurants in Dallas. I used to go to the one when it was located off Inwood and Lovers. This new location is better, though. The food is always fresh, although the kitchen can get hung up at times. Waiters could be a little more attentive, but other than that, I come for the food, and it rarely disappoints. The snow crab fingers were next level, and the lobster brioche was amazing. Go here, you won't be sorry.

Great food and lots of options with a nice but casual atmosphere. We ordered Tuna Nachos, crab jalapeño bisque, Caesar salad, oysters (mixed variety), crab pasta, seafood Cobb and key lime pie. Everything was delicious and the key lime pie was perfection! The bar made a limoncello and espresso margaritas with the right blend of alcohol so you don't feel robbed. Will definitely go again!

Absolutely one of our favorite seafood places in DFW now!! Already went here twice, once for dinner on a weak day, and once for lunch on a Saturday. Both times the service was great and the waiters were very polite, knowledge and pleasant. It's set up as a little market place, which gives another reassurance that the food is super fresh! All the dishes we tried were exceptional! It's a simple, but very cozy and inviting environment.

Such a fan of this place! Cheesy grits, lobster Mac and cheese, and soups are not to be missed. We also liked the salmon on special topped with coconut shrimp and purple hull peas. The bread pudding was quite good. Service is always the best... we love the staff. Pro tip - Wine bottles are half off on Wednesday’s.

Let me start by just saying that this was my experience… Not everybody else will have or has had this experience. For starters at 6:45 PM the restaurant was pretty packed which to me is a great sign of a great place to eat or drink. This was a birthday dinner, however didn’t feel like one. Ordered two drinks one for each of us and the drinks were excellent then we ordered appetizers and the appetizers were sooooo good, the presentation was great. The main entrées were excellent.. my recommendation, the fish and chips, you can never go wrong and they do a pretty damn good job with fish and chips. Now I will tell you on observing the atmosphere of Rex’s… watching the manager go to different tables and ask them how their meal was or how everything is going. I was sure that he or she would stop by and ask us how our experience was going so far, not to mention that it was a birthday dinner. We got nothing, looked at us on occasion but never came over to us…. As for our waiter, not very personable. Didn’t talk about any specials just very straight to the point… drinks… Appetizers, entrées, and dessert nothing else. Don’t get me wrong everything from the drinks to the appetizers to the main entrées was excellent at least that was my experience for the food so definitely the food is well worth it however, the personable experience not so great at all. Let me be clear the waiter got a good tip because the food was outstanding. What was so interesting is that the person that took the reservation over the phone made sure to note on the reservation that this was a birthday dinner.

This spot's got that nice mom and pop restaurant vibe, and has a nice display of fresh fish for customers to choose from if they wish. The service here is actually the main selling point as it was top notch. The food is about average and wasn't so memorable. Portion size was decent but the food was a tad bland, except the sweet potato fries which were heavily salted. When i came, 90% of the diners were older, reitred, white folks (mean absolutely no offense) so maybe they underseason on purpose. I'm not sure I'd ever go out of my way to come back but service alone may be worth it if you prioritize that. That said, their market crudo was actually pretty good.
