Stumbled upon this cafe while working in downtown and was pleasantly surprised. Laid back and artsy atmosphere with some cool decorations. They have a lot of bakery items as well as good lunch items that include sandwiches salads and soups. I will come back here again if I am in the neighborhood.

First time here, and I loved it! Great vibes and amazing food. The breakfast burrito was a hit, and the fruit bowl was super fresh. Highly recommend!

Service here was great. The restaurant is beautiful. I had a pancake and bacon which were good. It's a cute place inside with lots of room for photo opportunities. They have lots of specially drinks to try as well.

I came here a few days in a row to work remotely and am completely obsessed with this place! The staff are super friendly and gave me some great food recommendations. They serve halal chicken, which is a huge plus, and probably the best coffee in town. Can’t wait to come back!

UPDATE :I had to share today’s latte designs. See added pictures …. Was here Memorial Day for a delightful breakfast. Food was delicious, service- friendly & attentive. Even made a monkey face in my latte!! Unassuming from exterior, larger than it looked but a definite must if you are looking for great food and good prices. French toast, eggs, potatoes - all Yum!!! A new favorite for me!! You will not be sorry with a meal here.

Great place in the heart of Downtown Dallas for breakfast. This place feels nostalgic, and the decor beautiful with a 1940s speak easy feel. I had the Metropolitan Breakfast Sandwich, which was amazing. It's definitely a must for breakfast.

This charming little spot was a delight from the moment we stepped inside. Our waitress, Crystal, was incredibly pleasant and friendly. The blackberry lemon mascarpone French toast was simply divine. The lemon flavor was light and refreshing, perfectly complementing the mascarpone. The burrito was equally impressive, accompanied by crispy and flavorful potatoes. It’s a hidden gem that deserves a visit.

Quick Version (For the Scroll-Phobic Reader): Great prices, generous portions, flavorful dishes, and a vibe that makes you want to linger. You can stop reading now… but you probably shouldn’t. Breakfast: The croissants here are worth writing home about—flaky, buttery, and utterly Parisian. I can’t remember whether Adolfo (the talented barista/server) said they import the bread, the butter, or both from France, but whatever they’re doing, it’s working. Pure, buttery magic. Lunch: The croissant sandwich? Easily one of the best I’ve had. And coming from someone who usually avoids salads like they’re a chore, the beet chicken salad was a revelation—creative, flavorful, and the chicken was actually juicy. Take note, salad skeptics. Drinks: The beverages are a pleasant surprise too. Prices are easy on the wallet, and the flavors are miles ahead of what you’d get at a certain mermaid-branded chain—at half the sugar, no less. Their matcha is served traditionally (no sugar by default, bless them), and it’s as earthy and delicious as you’d hope. Dinner & Entertainment: The Metropolitan also dabbles in dinner hours—Wednesday through Friday—though I haven’t had the chance to sample it yet. Fast, efficient, and perfect for those of us on the go. Plus, don’t miss out on their hidden gem of a special—the Noemi special—just a few dollars gets you a perfect little spread of rye bread, honey, feta cheese, and a serving of tea (three tea cups’ worth!). It’s all the essentials, and it’s now my personal favorite. Flip Side: For all its technological charm, there’s a tiny hiccup—once you start with one ordering method (QR code or traditional server), you’re stuck with it. No mix-and-match. A small quirk, but worth keeping in mind. Final Thoughts: The Metropolitan on Main is a delightful addition to downtown—perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a leisurely afternoon coffee. Whether you’re a croissant connoisseur, a salad skeptic, or just someone who wants a good vibe with great food, it’s worth a visit.

I find myself drawn to charming cafes off the usual route, and during my stroll, I found myself at this particular one twice in the heart of the city. Its peculiar shape and eco-friendly design make it quite a unique spot. It's like a poetry slam venue where you snap your fingers, but with a bright and airy atmosphere. If you're a coffee enthusiast, you'll definitely appreciate this place. Unless you're strictly a decaf person, that is.

By the time the food finally hit the table, we were all best friends and practically part of the furniture. Definitely worth a visit, but maybe don’t come starving!”

I visited The Metropolitan on Main for dinner and was thoroughly impressed. The menu has a great variety, and the flavors are amazing. I ordered the seared tuna, and it was fresh and perfectly seasoned. The service was excellent, and the ambiance is just what you want for a nice evening out.

Low key place with very cute plush interior but not much in term of menu for breakfast. Was the only spot close by and did not go back agin. Mediocre and not too great

If you go there for breakfast, my answer will be “meeeehh”! Not the best one, I must say! They are very, very slow, and the food's taste is not the best, either. It's still worth trying, but if I have a chance to choose a place for breakfast again, I will never go here.

We came here because we wanted to try their brunch as it looked appetizing. The atmosphere and service were excellent however their food fell short. The mascarpone on their French Toast was probably not the freshest and the French Toast itself also had an off taste. The hollandaise on their Eggs Benedict was unfortunately also a disappointment. While the consistency and color was great it was over powered by too much vinegar. For the price point of this restaurant, I would expect the food to be spot on and the portion sizes to be just a little bigger.
