Everything was super good that we tried. Definitely recommend gyutoro and the pb&j ice cream sandwich.

What an awesome culinary experience. I came at happy hour (5:00pm-6:30pm) and tried some great sake, nigiri, dumplings, hot fried chicken bun, mini burger. Jose, our sushi chef, knocked it out of the park. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time and is definitely in my top 3 meals of all time.

Great experience with phenomenal food. My personal favorites 72 hour short rib and A5 wagyu. If you are hungry and want some great bang for your buck: Brussels sprouts and fried chicken are phenomenal.

Everything was to die for. We came during happy hour and I can’t complain about a single thing we ordered, on the happy hour menu or off. The service was great and so attentive. Will be back very soon!

This place is a must, everything we had was delicious, the oysters were so fresh and tasty, wagyu very tender, the crude scallops were delicious, the best foie I tried in dallas so far, the tuna melted, the crab is also good and the pork belly bao was super yummy. Jose was our professional chef during the night and he suggested us to close the dinner the fried milk dessert and it was an explosion in your mouth 🤩 The staff was so friendly and professional too. The price is worthy so highly recommended uchiba.

Nice atmosphere, great service, AMAZING food. We had a little of everything - cooked (shrimp tempura) and uncooked (yellowtail and salmon) rolls, wagyu beef from the Yakitori grill, pork dumplings, grilled scallops, the Tiger Cry (pork belly slider) and fried milk for dessert. All were simply phenomenal! The drinks were great too. And our server (Carmina) was awesome. She was knowledgeable about the menu, friendly and attentive. We should have taken more pics but we kept forgetting. HIGHLY recommend!!!!

Uchiba is a great place to eat! The food is fantastic and the service is excellent. It’s one of our favorite restaurants in Dallas. We especially recommend the crispy tofu, crispy duck, kinoko dumplings, fried green tomatoes, and fried milk. It’s not easy on the wallet, but it’s worth it! This place is popular, so make sure to make a reservation.

Im a redneck....this was way out of my comfort zone...but our server Joey explained the items...chose some for us It was all outstanding! The shrimp was the best I've ever eaten. The beef short ribs were worth the trip. Next time in Dallas...i will be there!

My favorite restaurant to visit in uptown. They have very tasty vegan options and delicious cocktails. The island heat is my favorite cocktail. Nasu is the only sushi I order and it is bursting with flavor, the yuca chips with the edamame hummus is a must. This is the only place that I order brussel sprouts at and they are crispy and simply the best, just be certain to request the vegan version without the fish sauce. 🌱

This was our first time and we were a group of 8 adults. The place is one of a kind and it offers a lot of vegetarian options. We enjoyed the dumplings, the brussel sprouts and the peppers the most. This place was an overall experience all together. I'd definitely recommend this place to my Vegetarian friends and family.

Although I love the food at both Uchi & Uchiba my first time into Uchiba was quite weird service-wise. I stopped in on a Thursday night. They secured me a table for one upstairs but told me I had only an hour to eat. No problems there, I eat rather fast. I ordered all of my food right when my waiter arrived, around 9 plates, and stated I only had that hour and didn't want to hold them up. The waiter was super nice and polite, but left to go put in my order. For the next 30 minutes I had an onslaught of cuisine brought to my table. I'm rather impressed by how quickly they made everything tbh. Once I finished they waiter told me I didn't have to rush anymore since they had someone's reservation fall through. At this point I had eaten 8 small plates so I'm not really sure what to order besides the dessert I was waiting on. The dessert came out around 20 minutes later than my last dish. What's weird is it was basically just a scoop of ice cream so I'm not sure how it took that long. The whole time I really didn't have wait staff but I felt odd just sitting there for so long after I rushed my meal. I'm not saying don't go, you should. I'm saying the service seemed a little wonky is all. Everytime since then had been great.

Unbelievable flavors and art on a plate. I recommend ordering several items and sharing for the full experience - we literally had 8 items and dessert. Do not pass up dessert and the Fried Ice Cream dessert is like no other!

Amazing! I've been to Uchi to Miami and this is the same restaurant group and similar concept. Came for happy hour, which they have every day of the week. Highlights were the salmon, sea bass, pork jowl, slow cooked rib nigiris, spicy salmon hand roll, hamachi crudo. Everything was solid. Great service. The happy hour menu is of course smaller than the regular dinner menu but has lots of the items for effectively half price. Even at this cheaper price, dinner was expensive. Nearly $200 for 2 big dinners. Great for Japanese authentic and fusion food that doesn't taste fake. Highly recommended

Upstairs on the second floor from Uchi in Uptown Dallas. Food was great, a Japanese tapas style. Everything was small plates and shareable. We came for happy hour 5-6:30 pm. Sushi was fresh, taste was good and flavorful, prices were fair. I recommend going for happy hour to be able to try everything Valet parking available in front of Uchi downstairs

Solo dinner at the bar Was NOT disappointed in 1 bit Every bite i ate was better than the last Bartender was informative, passionate and attentive Highlights for me were the Australian wagyu nigiri, melt in your mouth the butter chicken dumplings, perfectly blended flavors and textures for a surprisingly meticulous bite The tiger bun, pork belly and pickled veg, need i say more? The chicken meat all skewers with thr egg yolk emulsion. also a hit. So rich and umami forward was a great bite. The snow crab maki also was unbelievable light refreshing nuance of flavor and texture was on point I ordered a ton more but that's what stood out to me even a week later as I write this review But the best bite of the night. Their "sundae" pear sorbet, apricots, puffed quinoa, oh my god so refreshing and satisfying with all the different textures and flavors. Really blew me away. I spent 200 for a solo dinner, & it was worth it. My only regret is I was still feeling a little hungry before dessert so I ordered more nigiri and got some bluefin but because of everything I already ate i couldn't taste the fish so well so definitely recommend starting lighter and ending heavier

The only late night, full dining experience in the DFW! Incredible food and the BEST staff and bar tenders, always superb service! Craft beverages with custom creations make the experience remarkable. My absolute downtown restaurant, you will NEVER be dissapointed.

Excellent place for sushi. I've been to Uchi, Uchiko, and Uchiba, in several cities. This is always the go-to for excellent sushi. I like the patio option for non-summer weather, and the sushi bar is great if you want to watch them make the dishes. There are separate servers for food and beverages. The wagu tartare is AMAZING!

Me and my friend had a wonderful experience at Uchiba! It was my first time and our server, KJ, was fantastic. He had in-depth knowledge of the menu and gave us great recommendations. Can’t wait to come back and try some more things on the menu!

Love this place, came here twice for dinner, especially love their sea urchin sushi and scallop sushi, very fresh! The service is very attentive and friendly, and the chefs are good at processing the fish. The overall feeling for me is much better than Nakazawa in Washington, and I will come again next time!

**Review:** Uchiba in Uptown Dallas offers an exceptional dining experience. The shishito peppers with ba dip were flavorful and perfectly spiced. The nasu katsu bao buns were crispy and delightful. The kinoko skewer from the yakitori grill was savory and tender. The nigiri, especially the nasu (eggplant) and avocado, were fresh and beautifully presented. The Inari maki (tofu) was a delicious highlight. The presentation of each dish was artful, and the ambience was sophisticated and inviting. Excellent choice if vegetarian menu. Special thanks to our server, LaLao, for the impeccable service. Highly recommend!

One of my favorite sushi places in Dallas. I usually go in, sit with my favorite server, and ask him to put together whatever he recommends with no limitations, and it never disappoints! The food is great; the yuzu sake is one of my favorites, and the desserts are not something to pass up. I’m typically underwhelmed by dessert options at restaurants, but at Uchibā, I always make room for some treats. Trust your server, describe what you like and don’t like, and let them take care of you!

Wow what a wonderful experience, every time I come here it makes me want to bring more friends and family back. Best sushi in Dallas by far, it ruins eating sushi anywhere else. The waiters are very attentive and caring, I believe our waiter last night was Skye, she saw we were having a great time eating and brought us extra sushi and dessert. Her great attitude and recommendations really helped make the meal that much more special. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys sushi and even to people who don’t. Uchiba (upstairs) is a more laid back dining experience than Uchi (downstairs) and offers more cooked food options, both restaurants are wonderful, I recommend trying them both to see which you feel more comfortable at! We tried a dessert last night that I believe is new to the menu, and every one of the 4 of us was blown away! The desserts at both uchi and uchiba are some of the best desserts I’ve ever eaten, when you’re at the end of your meal don’t skip out on dessert!!

As someone who doesn’t eat seafood of any kind, Uchiba is still one of my fave places I’ve eaten! They have so many great dishes that aren’t sushi. The fried milk is also to die for! 10/10 recommend!

Unbelievably delicious, with flawless service. we were celebrating our elopement, and opted to have our server choose our courses for us; her gentle questions helped guide our way through a dizzying, wonderful tasting of courses to make this meal unforgettable. I have a sesame allergy and they worked around this neatly. Try the schezuan margarita, the scallops, and the fried milk!

I visited Dallas for the weekend and my friends took me to Uchi Ba. I was so amazed by the wonderful service! Our Waiter SUNNY was so knowledgeable, attentive and amazing. I love the fact that she really broke down the menu. I made it less intimidating for us and explained everything with so much knowledge. Although the portion size was a small, the food was absolutely delicious and worth it. We tried so many things and everything was a hit! My favorite was the snow crab rolls, wagyu beef dumpling. karaage , Wagyu beef skewer.😋😋

An amazing experience everytime! From management, Cassaundra, to our server, London. Simply top notch service!!! My wife and I have been coming to Uchi/Uchiba for the past 6 years, amid we are still so impressed with this restaurant. The selection, the flavors, the cocktails…they really have it all!

Been meaning to come here and finally did for a birthday celebration! The patio has heaters for the cold season which was perfect. Our server was very attentive and provided a lot of great recommendations. We did the "Omakase" but allowed the server to pick which ever dishes, and he did fantastically! Everything was super delicious and I loved not knowing what I'll be eating. Highly recommend the kinoko dumplings (I could eat a whole bag), Hamachi chili, and blueberry pie cocktail (it really tastes like pie!! Mind blowing)

Wow, my partner and I were blown away! Nearly every small plate we ordered exceeded our expectations. Dishes like the chicken thigh skewers, shrimp skewers, and salmon belly nigiri were simple yet delicious. Our favorite was the chicken katsu bao, which we had to get a second time! The seared scallops dish took the longest, but it was honestly the most delectable serving of scallops I ever had because of the sauce underneath (and I’m a HUGE fan of scallops). We ended the night with a chocolate cake and chocolate ice cream combo that we wouldn’t normally get, but I was so happy we did because that cake was so moist! I will say that I thought each item was on the pricey side since they were small plates, but I didn’t regret ordering any of them once they came out. I can’t wait to go back to Uchibā Dallas!

Hubby and I celebrated our anniversary here on a Saturday evening, we liked the atmosphere when we walked into the restaurant - simple and chic. Food wise, my fav dish were kinoko usuzukuri and tsukune, I'm impressed by every hidden detail that every dish presents. Not only the server whose in charge of our table but every single staff who brought the dish to us took note of what allergies my hubby had and mentioned if it may contain the cross contamination (seafood allergy) or not. Definitely impressed by staffs' care and professionalism. We were absolutely moved by the staff - taking care of customers is more important than food itself sometimes. We are looking forward to going back soon!

One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. We came for a family birthday, and our server Joey was phenomenal. He was so knowledgeable about the menu, and made our experience special. He was attentive and had the answer to all of our menu questions. The happy hour menu has a wonderful variety of drinks and food items. Everything we had was absolutely perfect. Each dish is remarkably creative in both flavor combinations and plating. The restaurant is beautiful, and I would highly recommend reservations. The fried milk for dessert is an absolute must order! 📸: Shiso Tini and Heaven in a Barrel cocktails, akami nigiri, sake crudo, pork katsu bun, crispy duck, fried milk

Every bite was better than the last, Joshua helped us navigate the menu with my wife's dairy allergy and helped us not miss anything that was a must. With construction happening right outside of the restaurant we asked to move inside and they were more than happy to accommodate us. Very attentive, asked us multiple times how everything was( absolute perfection), we would come back and will absolutely recommend anyone to spend their evening.

We had a great experience. We went for our 10 year anniversary and it was a culinary adventure. Surprisingly they have fried green tomatoes on the menu and they were so crunchy and flavorful. The dumplings were cooked to perfection and the flavor as well blew us away. We asked our waitress Liz who was very knowledgeable for recommendations and she did not disappoint. The wagyu was the best steak we have ever had. It was the most tender. I didn't want the taste to leave. Everything was small plates so it was an awesome way to try many things. By the way they offer complimentary valet.

Super picky with sushi (usually only go for omikase in Japan), but Uchibā impresses. Amazing flavors, fresh seafood, stellar service. Special thanks to Cienna, our server. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, was on point with her recommendations, and had an awesome attitude - very positive, good sense of humor, and made us feel at home. She seemed to really love working at Uchibā. Also noticeable was how the waitstaff all worked together - ex. clearing plates, glass was never empty, impressive teamwork and synergy. Definitely made a difference in the enjoyment of our meals. A must-visit in Dallas!

This place was amazing, went with some friends and the staff was great! I truly enjoyed my time there and they had great recommendations! The blueberry pie drink is 10/10 and definitely tastes like blueberry pie, I would order that over and over for sure! It's a little dark inside but it definitely fits the theme and mood of the restaurant. Definitely will be coming back!

It was our first time at Uchibā Dallas and it didn’t disappoint, we tried a variety of dishes from the happy hour menu. Some of my favorites were the fried duck, tiger bao bun, and the eggplant bao bun. The chefs at the bar Donovan and Taylor were phenomenal with answering questions about the menu and genuinely great conversation. I’ll be returning for sure.

We sat at the bar and were thoroughly impressed. Lizz was incredible! Her cheerful service and excellent recommendations were outstanding. She truly enhanced the entire experience—a breath of fresh air! The wagyu nigiri was fantastic, and the fried milk was to die for! We also loved the ambiance and playlist, and the lighting was adorable. A must-visit for any Dallas adventure!

Had an amazing happy hour with tasty bites and drinks to compliment each other. The bartender was so nice and gave us a free beer to try! The wagyu skewers and hot fried chicken bao bun were my favorite!

Recent NYC transplant that came across this restaurant due to its unique outside decor. Reservation was easy to make online, and they provide complimentary valet parking. Andy was a fantastic server that answered our questions and gave on point recommendations. We met the GM at the end of our meal to express how amazing the experience was. I'm definitely looking forward to the next date night there.

I decided to dine at Uchiba on the first night of my trip, and it set the tone. Everything on the menu looked delicious and I had a hard time choosing. I want to thank Santiago for his insight and recommendations. I went with the a tasting option and eight courses later…. I had enough. All the items were carefully crafted and provided a unique experience. If you happen to be in Dallas, I would strongly recommend this restaurant.

B
Britton Zachry

genuinely such a great experience, and the price for the value of what we received was more than fair! I believe our server‘s name was Ray? A very professional, knowledgeable server with short hair and amazing jewelry, she was super kind, attentive, and coursed everything out to make the flow of the meal perfect. The food runners also didn’t mind explaining every dish to us and getting us everything we needed. It was my birthday and they made it very special, the ambience is amazing, they’re open pretty late, and the food came out quickly. Every single item was a hit, literally the only grievance was that the pulled pork dumpling got a little dry in the middle, but that’s just looking for anything to critique because everything was so perfect. The ube cheesecake was insane. The drinks were great too, the lychee martini had a beautiful Yuzu citrus taste, and the espresso martini was very crisp and clean.

EXCEPTIONAL DINING EXPERIENCE & STELLAR SERVICE Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at Uchibā in Dallas for a late-night date, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We opted for the omakase experience and sat at the bar, where Reigh took exceptional care of us. Reigh curated our 13-plate dining experience with such skill and charm, making the evening not only delicious but incredibly fun & engaging. The entire meal was outstanding, with several contenders for the top spot, but the dessert stole the show—it was absolutely divine. Honestly, I’d go back to Uchibā just for the dessert alone. It was that good. While this is undeniably an expensive experience, it’s perfect for special occasions or celebratory evenings. I can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking to enjoy a unique and memorable meal. Big kudos to Reigh for being such a sweet and delightful part of our night—she made an already fantastic evening even better. Five stars, hands down!

Dined in for a friend’s birthday dinner. Had to make reservations and placed a credit card on file in case we were a “no show” and charged $25 per person. Has valet parking if needed. Restaurant is located on the second floor. May access via stairs or elevator. Waiting area is part of the “outdoor” dining which is technically not outside because it is closed in. That area has great ambiance while waiting to be seated. Once in the actual restaurant, it is dark so be mindful of that. I took a picture of the menu so you can see how the visibility is, but once your eyes get adjusted, the lighting is okay. Our server, Joey, was phenomenal. We decided to order some small plates, and let the chef do a similar omakase style where they make 6 dishes for us to try. After that is done, we can order more as we go. I really enjoyed the hama chili, pork belly skewers, hirame kombujime, sake toro, kanpachi nigiri, hamachi nigiri, and fried milk. Some of the dishes were too salty for my taste like the Brussels sprouts, gyutoro nigiri, and karaage, but to each his own. Overall, we had a great experience and enjoyed our first dining experience at this establishment!!

I had one of the best dinners of my life at Uchibā Dallas. They really know how to take care of their customers. My friend and I had a reservation for 7:30 pm at their sushi bar. Our table wasn’t quite ready so we ordered drinks as we waited. The wait did take a while because most of the people stayed longer than expected. We ended up waiting till 9 pm to be seated but throughout that time the waitress brought us 2 appetizers (yuca chips and shishito peppers) on the house. They covered both our drinks (I had a glass of white wine & my friend ordered 2 sakes). When we got seated, we ordered the east coast oysters, the tako sumo mono, the tokujo uni, and the inari maki. The food was absolutely amazing. They brought us 2 complimentary glasses of Prosecco as we ate. We wanted dessert, so we decided to order the milk. To top it all off, they brought us the desert and said it was a gift, on the house. If I wasn’t already blown away at their service, I sure was by the end of it. I would give them more than five stars if I could. The waitress and the manager were so attentive throughout the whole night. They truly apologized for the wait and more than compensated for it. I will definitely be back! Thank you for such an amazing night. 🤍

This experience definitely hurt my wallet a bit but the food itself was excellent. Order off the happy hour menu when possible, the prices are quite a bit lower. The Foie Gras and the fried milk dessert stood far and away as the highlights of the night for me. If nothing else, try those. Service was good and friendly and drinks were solid as well.

I ordered different foods and everything I tried was very good. The bartender made me a really good drink. I didn’t love the service upon arriving, I reserved a sushi bar seat and was asked to sit elsewhere on a corner of the bar. As I was waiting to be seated no one brought me a menu but brought one to the party next to me who sat down after me. The waitress once I was seated was solid and made great recommendations.

Went to Uchibā for their happy hour and had an awesome experience. The food, atmosphere and service were all top notch, and you get almost all of what makes Uchi so great at a fraction of the price. The outdoor patio looked amazing for a nice day as well.

I am so glad we were able to try this spot while visiting friends in Dallas. It’s sort of like a Japanese tapas style restaurant. You’re ordering a variety of small portioned plates, sometimes sharing, and they are all amazing. Though I didn’t picture everything, there is nothing I didn’t enjoy. My favorites included the Hama Chili, beef skewers, Brussels sprouts, and Fried Milk. I highly recommend this place, especially during happy hour. It offered a very cool and unique experience with a group of friends. Our waiter even outlined which items are vegan, pictured below, for our vegan friend. Definitely can’t wait to try their other locations!

One of our favorite restaurants in Dallas. Every bite is incredible. The service is always top notch it's obvious a lot of time and care goes into training. The sushi is perfect with fun and unique twists. The salmon, sardine, and tuna loin were standouts tonight. The hama chili crudo and zero sen hamachi roll are both fantastic. They have really great hot items, too, like the portobello dumplings and the buns. On this visit, we had a katsu chicken bun with curry cole-slaw that was incredible. Simple things like their brussel sprouts are so good. Leave room for dessert. The fried milk and tapioca are not to be missed. They have a great happy-hour menu, too. We didn't get pics of everything we had, but you can see that everything is beautifully presented and made with such care. We truly love Uchiba! Updated to add a few pics from our most recent incredible visit on 5/24/24.

FOOD IG: @northtx.gemz •••• 🍒 WHAT THEY’RE KNOWN FOR: fancy sushi served in a casual atmosphere. Cute and vibey! Uchi and Uchiba have the same location just fyi. Uchi is downstairs and uchiba is upstairs. 🍒 THE VIBE: Uchi is the fancy one, UCHIBA is the “bar style one” and the Uchiko in Plano is similar to original Uchi but different “charred” flavors. (Yes I just looked it up bc it was confusing to me too) 🍒 PRICE: I don’t remember kinda pricy but we went for happy hour! 🍒 WOULD I COME BACK? Yes! I can’t wait. ••••• Overall Rating: 9/10 - I only have good things to say about @uchibarestaurants ! I absolutely loved my experience and the foods were so unique and culinary curated. - Highly recommend ordering everything, there was nothing I didn’t like. - The fish was light and absolutely fresh. The flavors tied together effortlessly. - Highly recommend a recommendation if you wanna get into Uchi but Uchiba had seating when they opened, but they get busy quick!

KJ at Uchiba was absolutely incredible! His service was amazing from start to finish. He had such a deep knowledge of the menu, which was comforting and helped make our dining experience seamless and enjoyable. His kindness and professional mannerisms truly stood out, making us feel so well taken care of. Uchiba is already a fantastic place, but KJ’s exceptional service made the night unforgettable. Highly recommend asking for him!

I try to tell anyone and everyone about Uchi restaurants. I've had a lot of sushi in my life but have never enjoyed sushi more than at an Uchi restaurant. We've been to Uchiko and Uchi in Austin and we've been to Uchiba in Dallas. We are blown away every single time we eat there. The freshest fish we've ever had and combined with amazing ingredients. The entire dinner is like theatre. It is not an inexpensive experience but it is worthy every penny. The service is top notch and they all want to make sure your experience is 5 stars. I cannot recommend it enough! Just go! Run!

The food and service at any Uchi location is always fantastic. I have a soft spot for Dallas. I’ve been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Very good but quite pricey. Did the somakase where we selected a budget and let the chefs choose our food. I’d say most of the items were good but some were not. They didn’t charge us for the ones we werent crazy about but overall for $350 I think the sushi was just good not mind blowing. Next time we will opt for happy hour which I’ve heard is a better deal. Did appreciate the complimentary valet, and service was excellent!!

This was one of the greatest meals I have ever had. I had the pleasure to dine here on a work trip, I am from Seattle, so the notion of getting seafood in Texas was definitely interesting. I was completely blown away by this experience, from the moment we sat down our server Sunny took the reins and acted as our tour guide through the menu. I cannot say enough good things about her, she made this meal the great meal that it was. I am still floored by how impressive she was in knowing every bit of the menu and the items on it. We trusted her right away to just take the wheel and steer our meal and make it as incredible as she could. The seafood was fresh, The mixture of tastes and textures that they achieve in simple Nigiri combinations was very impressive. However, the star of the show was the Wagyu, I think I counted three or four ways that they cook it on the menu of which we decided on 2, and we were absolutely blown away. She also brought us free additional surprise dishes at no charge, and even after a prolonged conversation with my colleague after we paid the bill came around with another round of free drinks just because she had seen us there having a good time chatting. I am sad I do not live here, because if I did, I would make this a regular spot. If you are in Dallas and want an experience, that will knock your socks off, look nowhere else.

My husband and I had an absolutely phenomenal time at Uchibã for my birthday dinner. The space is a dimly lit, casual and refined atmosphere, perfect for special occasion or date night. Onto the food, the best part. Our standouts definitely were these nigiri pieces: hirame, hamachi, akamutsu aburi-style. By the way, any of these you can get aburi-style which was definitely a game changer for us. All nigiri pieces were expertly curated with garnishes and seasonings that blended with the fish, something that really tied the food together. We prefer white fish and for our fish to lean on the softer side, cleaner side. The hot food & rolls were also delicious, with our standout being the soft shell crab maki with crispy and fragrant fried crab, although the sauce is a little strong so we didn't use much. The real winner tonight was our dessert, the famous fried milk is warm and milky, perfectly balancing with the dark chocolate and vanilla ice cream. The ube cheesecake was also equally if not more delicious, actually not that strong of a cheesecake taste (perfect for me because I don't care for cheesecake). I adored the blueberry sorbet that came with it - I would order just the sorbet if I could. Lastly, and most definitely not least, we wanted to thank our server Honey for being the sweetest, kindest person we could ask for. She gave us some birthday treats on the house, and was so helpful in giving us recommendations. We will definitely be back! cold dish - kinoko usuzukuri (2) - $18 (HH) 6/10 handroll & nigiri - hamachi handroll (2) - $24 (HH) - akami nigiri (2) - $9 (HH) 7/10 - nama hotate nigiri (2) - $10 (HH) 8/10 - hamachi sashimi - 7/10 ordered - soft shell crab maki (1) - $18.5 - 8.5/10 - duck bao (1) - $11 - 7.5/10 - tiger cry bao (1) - $9 - 7.5/10 - hirame kombujime flounder (2) - $20 - 8.5/10 - itoyori threadfin bream (2) - $20 - 8/10 - isaki three line grunt (2) - 6/10 - akamutsu rosy sea perch aburi (2) - $30 - 9/10 - hirame flounder (2) - $13 - 9/10 - hamachi yellowtail (2) - $14 - 8/10 - sake toro salmon belly aburi (2) - 7/10 dessert - fried milk (1) - $14.5 - 10/10 - ube cheesecake (1) - $12.5 - 10/10 *HH stands for happy hour

One of my new favorite restaurants in Dallas! First time visiting, I was pleasantly surprised by the creativity and depth of each dish. Every bite was perfectly balanced and incredibly satisfying. Huge thanks to Sunny for making the experience so memorable! I also had the pleasure of meeting Chef Max Piepgras—I’ll never forget the smoked apple butter and can’t wait to try more of his amazing creations.

10 out of 10. I wish I could give more stars!! Of course the food was curated to perfection, but the experience would be nothing without our server Airielle. It truly made the experience so worth it and so fun. Will be coming back over and over again.

The BEST food I’ve had in a long time. Our server Chris was absolutely the best in guiding us through the menu and providing us with recommendations. Every single one was divine, I will be traveling back just to go to this restaurant! Can’t recommend it more!

Dynamite place. Relaxed atmosphere, great ambiance, and these guys know how to source fish, most importantly. KJ is a top shelf host and server, makes it fun and keeps you going. New favorite spot in Dallas.

The food here is wonderful but our server KJ was OUTSTANDING! He gave the best recommendations and made sure we were taken care of every step of the way! We will always ask for KJ when we come now. Truly made the experience next level!!

My experience at Uchiba was amazing. I came here for my wife's birthday and had a memorable experience. We were deciding between Uchiba and Uchi and decided to go with Uchiba due to the different varieties of food. The food is one of the best I ever had in Dallas, their rotating menu is something to really consider when ordering. Expect to spend a good amount of money, but when considering the sushi/sashimi you will be ordering and the variety of their tapas style cooked dishes; you will not be disappointed. Shout out to our server Andrea/Honey who gave exceptional service and made us feel welcomed. The complimentary dishes and drinks for my wife's birthday was also very much appreciated. Already planning our return here and hope to be seated at Honey's table again! There is complimentary parking but you can tip if desired.

10/10! First, the chef, Max was not only incredibly talented, but also one of the most personable and genuinely kind people I’ve ever met in a dining setting. He took the time to connect with us, share small stories behind the dishes, and made the entire experience feel warm, welcoming, and memorable! And the food? Absolutely incredible. Every plate was obviously crafted with intention. Uchibā is better because they have Max as a chef. Truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Will absolutely be back!

Highly recommend the happy hour! Tried several dishes, most “worth it” faves were the tuna maki (recommend ordering 2), brussel sprouts, the thai tea crispy bao, and of course you have to try the fried milk. If you go expecting to eat a meal, you can expect to spend (at the least, at happy hour) $60 pp— the portions are for Bella Hadid, so go with appropriate expectations, and you won’t be disappointed!

Uchibā is consistently solid. The food is fresh and well-prepared, especially the wagyu skewers and crudos. Service is friendly and efficient without being over the top. Great spot for a night out or a casual celebration. Would definitely go back.

My husband & I are regulars for the Uncommon Ramen event on 1st Mondays. Always such new, innovative menu offerings from each chef & Eric is the server of our dreams: attentive, personable & always just goes that extra mile to make sure that we have a great experience! 10/10 👏

Omakase happy hour $120 for TWO my peeps. Nuff said. Wagyu burger straight delicious but ground chicken thigh skewers at $5/2 are my fav. Warning. Booths are dark so unless you don’t want no one seeing where your hands are, get a table near the window or at the bar so you can actually see the food and eat first with the eyes.

The food was great, service Alice was good this time. The previous service was awful last time and we almost give up on coming here again😂 Wanna to recommend my favorite dish of Chicken katsu bao P3. Really enjoyed it.. The desert that Alice recommended was seasonal sundae, very tasty! The only bad experience that the one who gave us the desert without spoon or 🍴, and waiting the unitial for a long time it almost became melted.. 😂 For the environment, it’s crowded and very noisy, I think it’s because lots of party here..

Uchiba was a good Japanese restaurant in Dallas. Over all the ambiance was nice and the location was nice. In terms of food, the courses we ordered were good but not justifiable for the price. The presentation was good and the fish was well prepared. The sushi was fairly overpriced for unremarkable fish. The Desserts were where this restaurant shined. We went through the entire meal and did not expect much for dessert however we ended up ordering every dessert on the menu and they were all amazing. Overall the food was good but not incredible. The desserts however were extremely notable and the best part of the dining experience.

Uchibā is a high-end sushi restaurant, and while I haven’t yet visited the Austin location (though it’s been on my list for a while), I had the chance to check out the Dallas spot by coincidence. The first thing you notice is how dark it is. Not just dimly lit—so dark that it’s difficult to read the menu, let alone fully appreciate the presentation of the food. When you step outside afterward, even on a mildly bright day, the contrast is almost blinding. I assume this is part of the concept, but personally, I don’t find it particularly appealing. Now, onto the food itself. The fish, like in many central states, lacks depth of flavor. I don’t know if this is due to extended shipping times from the coast, but ideally, a sushi restaurant of this caliber should serve fish that was sourced and prepared within the last 24 hours. At this price point and level of positioning, the expectation is that they go the extra mile to ensure freshness. I understand this is a challenge for inland cities, but it’s one that high-end sushi places need to overcome if they want to compete with coastal counterparts. That being said, the experience was still enjoyable overall, and the sushi was decent, but for what they charge, the quality should be much higher. The ambiance and service are on point, but the food itself needs to deliver more to justify the price.

Craved sushi so thought I come by here for HH. Ordered the signature tasting for $90 HH pricing for 2 people. The best was the Atlantic salmon, brussel sprouts, and the Hama chili. I would honestly recommend the sushi. The warm, hot dishes were mediocre.

My friends and I came late night to have some desserts. We ordered the mango tapioca as well as the fried milk dessert. Both desserts were underwhelming in their own ways. The fried milk balls were pretty eggy in taste and soggy, we didn’t enjoy it. We thought it would be like a fried ice cream but with custard filling but the dessert was really a chocolate cake with a few small balls. The mango tapioca was very unique. I don’t think it was bad but it’s definitely different. The mango was delicious but the foamy coconut with the powder did throw us off a bit. I still liked it better than the fried milk dessert. Our waiter was super friendly and the place has a nice interior.

Ordered the chicken karaage which had a nice, crispy texture and was nicely topped with mint leaves. l also enjoyed trying the assorted mochi and sorbet dessert: nicely done presentation and my favorite flavor was the strawberry of course🍓

We arrived at 5pm when Uchiba opened and the venue was already rather full. We booked a seat at the bar thinking there would be omakase service. Seating was at the very end of the bar by the kitchen entrance (ask for a seat away from the kitchen. Not very romantic and kept getting my seat hit by passing servers). The rest of the restaurant looked beautiful. It was too bad we couldn't see most of it. The food came out pretty fast, but the sushi portions on the happy hour menu are more like amuse bouches. I'd stick with the other menu items. Items ordered off the happy hour menu & rated 1-5: 1. Yellowtail 3 (tiny portion) 2. Salmon 1 (3 poke pieces) 3. Pork skewers 5 (lame name, but by far the best bite) 3. Wagyu dumplings 2 (barely any filling) 4. Chicken meatball 3 (not bad, not the best) 5. Tempura cod 1 (tasted like cheap fried fish from long john silvers) 6. Pork jowl sushi roll 4 (nice crispy bite) 7. Nashville hot chicken 3 (large portion but lacking flavor) 8. Mini burger 4 (not that mini, double patty, but lacking salt) 9. Black sesame short bread semifreddo 4 (tasted like a fancy Twix bar) 10. Fried milk 6 (always delicious) 11. Complimentary yuca chips with edamame jalapeño hummus 5 (without this we probably wouldn't be full. Delicious and the spread works on the burgers lol) All together with 2 cocktails, the total came out to be $140 before tip. Servers were friendly so we tipped $28 If I were to go again, I'd order more pork skewers, the burgers, Yuka chips, cocktails, desserts, and called it a night for half the price. Although our neighbors got the wagyu beef tartar sushi rolls that sounded rather tasty. Remember to book away from the kitchen and bring a jacket in the winter time, even in the restaurant. Worth a try for business meetings or a after work bite and drinks with co-workers on a Friday night for the ambiance ans quick service. Overall the price is fairly reasonable for the service, taste, presentation, and vibe.

I actually prefer the upstairs Uchiba over Uchi since it feels like a better overall value, especially during happy hour. It’s more casual than Uchi, which makes it feel a little more relaxed and fun. The food leans more towards street food, and I really love the meat skewers and pork buns. The omakase can be hit or miss. I’ve heard from friends that the happy hour omakase for two doesn’t always come with enough food, and the portions haven’t been very consistent last time we went. Also last time we did the happy hour omakase, they repeated one of the items, and when we mentioned it, they didn’t really replace it or make up for it, which was a little disappointing. Brussels sprouts is a highlight for us and the cocktails are always great!

Very disappointed! Celebrated our anniversary at Uchiba in Dallas (first time here, though we love Uchi). Food was good, fresh and creative, as expected from the Uchi group. Service was friendly overall. However, I noted it was our anniversary when booking via Capital One, but we were seated at the sushi bar. It’s fine for casual dining, but not ideal for a special romantic dinner. I asked to switch to a table; the hostess said no, as tables were booked for the next two hours. It lacked that thoughtful touch for a flagged occasion. Food was good, but we’d skip it for future special events, probably stick to Tei Tei Robata located in Knox Henderson instead. Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars. Food: 3/5, Service: 3/5, Atmosphere/Experience: 3/5.

The highlights of our visit were the drinks and the service. Our server was fantastic, they really knew the menu and helped us pick out drinks we genuinely enjoyed, staying attentive throughout the night. However, the omakase experience was a bit of a letdown. The chef seemed unsure of what was included in the course, which didn't inspire much confidence. While we were hungry enough to go for it, several of the dishes didn't hit the mark for us. In the future, I’d stick to ordering à la carte. Also, the seating at the sushi bar was just "okay." Given the lack of interaction with the chef, I’d recommend grabbing a more comfortable table instead.

I’ve loved this restaurant for years — it used to be my absolute favorite happy hour spot when I worked downtown. The food is still good, which I truly appreciate. However, I was really disappointed during my most recent visit. We were texted just a couple of hours before our reservation that happy hour was no longer available, even though the website still advertised it. I’d definitely recommend calling ahead to confirm if you’re planning to go for happy hour. I was also surprised to see that about half of the menu has been cut, and the service just didn’t feel the same. The warm smiles and welcoming vibe that made this place special seemed to be missing. I barely saw our server and ended up not ordering any drinks because of it. It makes me sad because this has been my favorite restaurant for years. I’m hoping they can bring back the experience that made it so special.

We finished eating at Uchi downstairs and we wanted to check out Uchiba (because we love the Uchi brand ) and we were so disappointed. We ordered just a few happy hour dishes because we weren’t completely full. We ordered the pork dumplings, wagyu skewers, and the crispy bao (dessert). All not good. Uchi (we’ve been to 3 locations) are far superior by far.

I am so disappointed I’m in my uber and could not wait to write this . I’m here as a travel writer and of course this restaurant is on my list. I’ve had incredible hospitality in every restaurant I’ve gone to as a solo diner except here. I made sure I had a reservation to sit at the bar, order the omakasi for one and was assured of the price on the phone, I was told it would be a higher charge when I got there. . They did make the adjustment and proceeded to served me an inferior meal. I watched people next to me, have course after course after course of food. Even being a single dinner I had nowhere the amount of food that they were served. I could tell the rice was incredible as the sushi from what little I had. And ironically, the dessert was the biggest portion of the entire meal. The check was plopped in front of me as I was still eating my dessert not even asking if I wanted anything else. No one asked if I enjoyed my meal, no one said goodbye. I understand this review won’t make a difference in people coming here. The food looked amazing. My fault for thinking I would get a wonderful taste of what the restaurant had to order. For the first time in Dallas, I feel ripped off

Came before Valentine's on 2/12 with 7p reservation. Hostess, wait staff and managers were great with earlier dining guests just lingering for as long as they pleased after paying and finishing their meals. We stood around waiting for an hour for people to decide to vacate their tables. Uchiba made no effort towards flow. It's like a poorly run ER, especially on a holiday.

One word: OVERPRICED. If you want to spend over $100 on tiny portions of overpriced sushi and still be starving afterward this is the place to go. The sushi is small, overpriced, and not worth it at all. I have had better sushi in LA for half the cost of this sushi. Not sure if they think this is supposed to be a 4 star place but the service was horrible, the ambiance is just okay, totally not worth it. Will never be coming back here.

I go to uchiba often. Usually it’s great. I’ve ordered a chicken item only twice as I prefer their fish and beef options … once in 2022 I ordered the sliders as I dined inside and today the chicken sliders via delivery. Both times I received raw chicken I had to spit out. Unacceptable that it happened twice let alone once. Very disappointed.

S
Sara Dahl

Staff was rude & incompetent. Hostess, waitress, and what seemed to be manager, all had a terrible attitude. The waitress forgot drink orders several times and every time any food came out, they just put it on the table in front of the wrong people and never said which dish was which. Out of the 7 things our table ordered, I think 1 item was just decent which was a breaded chicken dish- pretty hard to mess that up anyway. I heard so much hype about this place and after my experience, I just don’t get it. Extremely over priced subpar food with subpar atmosphere & staff.

David Quiram

Most horrible dining experience ever. The service was slow and our food took forever to come out. The dishes were spotty with some being great and others being mediocre. To top the evening off the valet that they make you use for parking managed to severely damage the complete drivers side front and fender in a way that is just difficult to imagine in parking a vehicle.

The most unsettling dining experience I have ever had. It’s such a shame because the food was so amazing. Arrived at the restaurant with my girlfriend and I am a massive fan of omakase. I asked the waitress how much it would be and she said that it is usually shared between two and runs you 160$, and we will even tailor it to your palette. We said that would be amazing and did it. As said before the food was amazing and we added some other items because we thought the so called “shared” omakase wouldn’t be enough. The two of us got the bill and it was 600 with tip. I obviously had a word with the manager and she said “it would be taken care of” the next time we came in. When asked for specifics she said it would depend on the manager, which is absolutely absurd. So we came in and I asked to speak with the manager just to remind him of our last dining experience and the promises made. Peter arrived at our table and said, “so your problem was that the bill was too high” with an elitist grin on his face. After reexplaining he offered us two appetizers which was obviously not worth the damage done. Extremely dissapointed and will not be returning. These restaurants truly believe they are head and shoulders above the costumer and it ruins the dining experience. If you want some amazing sushi without the aftertaste of elitism when you leave head over to Namo in west village.
