What a nice little gem! Whisky creek was so peaceful and felt safe. It was nice to experience this as first time kayakers. Lots of mangroves, right next to the beach and serene. The area was clean and the check in was quick. The website made reservations easy. Only note is that you have to pay the entrance fee to get in to the state park .
Came here upon a recommendation from another park and was not disappointed. Kayaked for almost 2 hours and saw birds, fish, and watched tugboats move a giant ship. The men at the rental area were nice and helpful. Would return if I am back in the area
My family and I went yesterday and had a GREAT time! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful!!! The water ways were nice and clear and we saw lots of fish!!! There are spots on the sides to pull off to relax and either sunbathe or eat some lunch! We will definitely be back really soon!!!!
We rented kayaks for a couple hours and it was great! Definitely recommend checking it out. We did the full loop, but it was quite a workout so if you want to chill more I recommend staying between the north and south points path I highlighted in orange. We saw lots of fish and an iguana even swimming! Didn’t take picks on kayaks cause we didn’t have protective covers (you can buy some at their shop that also has food/snacks/shirts/etc. but we opted out this time.)
Whiskey Creek Hideout is great. For just $45 a person, my brother and I Kayaked Whiskey Creek for 2 hours. We saw some wildlife and fantastic views. They offer several different watercraft rentals including paddle boards, single and two person kayaks, canoes and pontoon boats that hold several people. I recommend this place to every able bodied person.
It was very fun. Lots of people. The instructors are very nice. You can do many things. Food is great too. Fun things to do if you want to spend your day relaxing and enjoying yourself from home.
We love taking the boat here! Such a good time! Super family friendly. I love that we can hang in the river side and then just walk over to the beach.
My colleagues and I stopped by here after cruising around in our yacht we rented. This place was a lovely spot for a bite to eat! The hideout itself is cute and quaint. They have rental kayaks available, washrooms, a restaurant and a beautiful dining area with picnic tables covered from the hot Florida sun. The staff were kind and very accommodating here. We were a hungry group of 10 and they all took our orders and made our food promptly! I got the Hideout Cheeseburger with seasoned fries with a refreshing Pepsi. Everything was piping hot, delicious and perfect to eat by the bay. My friend shared a Mango Slush me which was fantastic! Sweet, ice-cold, tangy and refreshing. It really hit the spot! I definitely recommend dropping by here to have a bite to eat after being out on the bay waters or playing on the beaches and alcoves, as you’ll work up quite the appetite!
Great place to check out! We enjoy this place very much specially during our kayak activities, It is so cool in here. We made it there during high tide so we were able to check most of the places which are not accessible during low tide. The place is lovely and lively, a lot of birds and fishes around the area.
Had an absolute blast kayaking here! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun time kayaking and then hitting the beach afterwards. Loved the convenience of the beach being within walking distance of Whiskey Creek Hideout and the fact that they serve food and drinks as well.
It is truly a hidden gem, the staff is super friendly and felt very motivated to come back again.
Cool little bar with great prices and awesome view! Can see the cruise ships whilst having a beer and watch all the little boats, canoes and kayaks (hey, people watching!) and if you have a little stroll, even able to see the massive lizards that move remarkably quick! Restrooms are clean, food looked good and had a reasonable choice of drinks too. Great place to stop-off if on the water or to have a rest if walking around.
I came out here to enjoy the view and a scenic route of the party but upon getting to the whiskey Creek hideout I noticed the different food options they had and I was amazed I ended up getting the tacos and the cheese fries and halfway through I was full and the service is phenomenal they bring the food to your table and they also come and check to make sure you're okay while eating your food this was one of the best services I've had in a long time The staff is good the food is phenomenal and the price is reasonable
Amazing place!!!!!!!! Food it’s phenomenal and the the customer service it’s outstanding.
During my recent visit to Whiskey Creek Hideout, I had an amazing experience that I'd love to share. The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting, perfect for unwinding by the water. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed. One of the highlights was renting kayaks for a leisurely paddle along the creek. The water was calm, and the scenery was absolutely beautiful, offering a perfect blend of nature and tranquility. The equipment was well-maintained and easy to use, making it a smooth and enjoyable adventure. After kayaking, I enjoyed a delicious meal at the on-site restaurant. The menu offered a variety of tasty options, and everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. I particularly enjoyed the fish tacos, which were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Whiskey Creek Hideout exceeded my expectations. It's a great spot for anyone looking to relax, enjoy nature, and indulge in some delicious food. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat or a fun outdoor activity.
Fantastic beach and convenient rental of umbrella and chairs. Staff is friendly. Large Bathrooms are clean and useable, but need to be demolished and rebuilt (wall mount toilets supported with concrete blocks to avoid detaching further from walls)
Perfect getaway spot for the weekend to paddle down Whiskey Creek (paddle boards, kayaks and canoes available for rent), enjoy some food and drinks from the restaurant and explore the mangrove. Very close to Ft. Lauderdale airport, so expect the calm to be interrupted by some airplanes. The lady at the bar is wonderful. She helped store our luggage, took care of the rental process and gave us recommendations for lunch. Uber and Lyft drivers can bring you and also pick you up, but best to give them a call where exactly to find you.
Rachel is the coolest server in Florida, hands down. The entire staff was just fantastic, Jake, Zeke, looking at you guys. My wife and I came here looking for somewhere to get a drink (adult) and do some scenic paddling. The beer/food was an amazing but the paddling was phenomenal! Would recommend for anyone looking for a chill spot with a bit of adventure mixed in.
A wonderful relaxing time on a Tuesday at 2pm. Super chill and great customer service.
Did another trip with the hubby to Whiskey Creek! It was FABULOUS!!! So quiet and relaxing with nature! We saw 3 Hawksbill sea turtles, a sting ray & a huge spotted eagle ray!!! We also saw a few puffer fish and mangrove snappers! This was the BEST trip so far! The staff was super friendly and helpful! The only thing is the bathrooms could use some updating other than that this place is amazing!!! You should check it out!
Absolutely amazing good food and a couple activities that you can do like single kayaking or you can go on a tandem kayak. They also provide paddle boards and canoes. They also have awesome events that you can look into. They have wonderful tours like the full moon and sun set. And the people that work there are very friendly and willing to make you laugh and smile an answer any question that you have for them.
Cool spot! You can walk from the creek to the other side and be right to the beach!
My home away from home. What a beautiful gem this place is. The service is awesome!!! Nora, Taylor, Alexa and the rest of the staff really treat you like family. Great way to enjoy the beautiful park, while renting a kayak and coming back hungry for some good food. I'm not a vegan, but their bean burger is fantastic!!!!
Staff was great. The creek made for easy kayaking,l. If you're not a strong kayaker, I'd suggest avoiding the channel on the other side: larger boats, ferries and container ships created some larger wakes
Great that they have concessions, bathroom, and covered areas to rest. We came for kayak rentals and it wasn’t cheap but it was easy. We kept the boat for a few hours and there were lots of people out enjoying the water. The park was clean with police patrolling. Plenty of parking. You have to pay to enter the park. If you’re kayaking be careful going into the harbor northwest of the kayak launch. The current is stronger and there are large vessels that can create large wakes (waves).
Very good place to swim and the water is very nice and the best reason that I rate it 5 stars because the fish and crabs are there
What an absolutely fabulous hidden gem. This is one of the most unique places to go to. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Florida as you can experience the place where salt and freshwater meet. So much better than the beach, but the beach is literally on the other side of that's what you'd like. We paddle boarded, we played, we got the tastiest beer. What a serene, magical day.
Local Gem. It's both a beach on one side & a boating stop on the other. The beach is very well kept, has grills, picnic tables, lots of opportunity for shade. The boating stop side is great for kayaks, paddle boards, row boats & even up to 30 foot vessel folk tend to post up & relax. The water on this side is not very deep. A visitor can rent either a kayak or paddle board & they have a big inventory to choose from. Very family friendly environment all around. I highly recommend this place/park for many reasons.
A hidden quiwt gem among the hustle of Fort Lauderdale. If the opportunity ever arises when you're navigating intercoastal waterways of fort lauderdale, you must navigate your way into Whiskey creek, just at the edge of the waterways on the way out to the Atlantic. A great spot to beat your boat, grab an item from there fun menu, and swim in the sandy beach. Be careful of the tide as the water gets quite shallow during low tide. It was a really nice break in the middle of our boating, in Fort Lauderdale. Great service.
The most amazing place to enjoy your our little private SANDY BEACH & Enjoy privacy at your leisure. Just take your beach umbrella cause the sun will beat you down... Rent the kayaks and they are priced at affordable rates. Just beautiful place to see and enjoy. The water is clear and clean as it flushes out to the port which goes out to Port Everglades Inlet. Fresh Ocean water on tide exchange. A big Plus, should have more Stars....👍
Honored the passing of my 45 yr old husband, my childrens father and papaw, by coming to one of our favorite places...Whiskey Creek Hideout....the staff is AMAZING every single time! The food is great and reasonable, drink selection covers the basics from alcohol to refreshing to getting re-caffeinated! the views stunning and the BABY MANITEE in the water just made it all the more perfect...I know my snuffy bear sent her my way....its a manitee crossing hangout but I never see any whenever we have come here or at Haulover, I always "just missed seeing them' Rentals are a good price as well! If i had a boat I'd he docked here often too!
This was my first visit to the park. The parking is great, a short walk to the covered area where they have a restroom, tables, and a shop where you can purchase anything you might need for an afternoon in the Florida sunshine. Even treats (ice cream and beer etc) for after you’ve spent yourself kayaking, canoeing, or paddle boarding . The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The equipment well organized and given out expertly and with speed so we didn’t find ourselves wasting even a moment on the water. The nature? Perfection! This is definitely a spot I’ll return to in future.
Kayak rental was easy and reasonably priced. Tandem is the way to go for 2, double motor power and longer distance with getting less tired. Whisky Creek Hideout does not have whisky - it is the name of the creek. They do have beer and wine based drinks. My husband got the blonde ale which was good tho reminded me more of a cream ale. I got the lime drink because it was the only one not frozen. It was delicious. I was skeptical about the wine base but it's actually more like a schnapps as it is made with agave. It did have a slight tequila like taste. I would definitely get it again. The service was great and the view fantastic.
What a great spot! If you're looking for a beach and also a river, this is the place for you. You can go to the beach and enjoy the ocean or you can go relax where boats park and rent a kayak or paddle board to go into the mangroves. Awesome experience and very relaxing. Go with a group and you'll have extra fun! Water is a VERY nice temperature, and the kids will definitely have fun. People respect swimmers and are very aware of people inside the water. Will definitely come back!
We had such a blast! Our whole group was kayaking for the first time. The boys were both so nice and truly helpful. No one fell in or got hurt. We didn’t see any alligators or sharks 🤣 but we’re told that sometimes you can see manatees and turtles. Genuine great experience! I cannot wait to do it again . The hideout beach is very cute, clean and quiet. Seems like no one actually knows to go there. Found my new beach spot !!
This place is amazing!!! Perfect for kyacking especially for the inexperienced. You can see the bottom of the river. It is pretty shallow in most areas which is very comforting. Saw plenty of wildlife too. They have appropriate life vests so you can be comfortable on the kyack. Definitely will be returning. This is inside a state park so you have you have to pay to park which is fine, just good to know in advance. And after paying and after kyacking you can spend the rest of the day at the beach.
Perfect spot for kayaking. I almost didn’t leave a review because I’d love to keep this place a hidden gem, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to commend the outstanding employee working on the last day of 2025. He went well beyond launching and retrieving my kayak—he also helped me out of it and made sure I was safely back on my feet. Truly exceptional service.
We will be back ASAP. Had the best time talking and having fun with Taylor and ate the best food from Alexia. We ordered blackened fish tacos and a BLT with Cajun fries, the best!!!!!! Great place to relax & enjoy nature.
Had a great time with the family kayaking. Beautiful and calming area for kayaking! Big thanks to Charleston, he was very attentive and very patient answering our questions with a fantastic attitude.
Lugar bello y comida espectacular
Fun place for some outdoor activities. Close to beach. Kayak and canoe rentals.
Well worth the drive for a nice day at the beach. The road leading to the state park entrance was under construction and there is a $1.50 -$4 entry fee to get into park. Once there parking is a big empty lot. The views and small Cafe are along the path that connects to the parking area. Decent frozen drinks offered overlooking kayak rental booth and paddle boarding . Clean beach 2 min walk from cafe/outdoor bar.
I wish I can give 4 and a half ⭐️... lol great experiance. Fish almost jumped in kayak maybe a little warning. Better map instructions. Service was amazing quick easy. Enjoyable place to have a great day on the water
This was an unplanned fun time. Kayaked before but not here. The trail is long with mostly wide areas. The side mangroves are well small you don't feel creepy. 1hr $25 for a tandem. Make sure you wear your sun screen. The scenery was serene. Nice staff very pleasant and friendly. No stress kayak on🤟🚣🏽♀️
Absolutely beautiful, the staff at the bar are super kind and knowledgeable about the park. Come early and leave late for maximum enjoyment.
Overall it is a nice place to go boating. It cost $60 for 2 hours in a tandem kayak (you pay at the end so you can decide how long you want to stay). However, there was an unexpected $6 parks entrance fee that I was unaware of. The staff was friendly and nice. Heads up, the water itself was pretty shallow so keep that in mind if you want to go swimming there (about 2-3 feet deep).
Great little cafe with beautiful views. We spent the day here and rented a couple paddle boards, chairs and umbrellas. The staff was friendly, area was clean and food was ok. Would be 5 stars if the beach chairs were in better condition (one back was broken and all were very weathered) and the person who assisted with the paddle board rental offered to show how to stand on them and not assume that everyone in the party knew how. Overall it was a pleasant experience and we will definitely be going back.
The staff is friendly and the outdoor patio clean. The food is just ok. You may buy cold beer there. Only one stall worked in both the women's and men's bathrooms, which is a bummer because it is a beach facility.
Brought my own blow up kayak to use here. Getting onto the water was easy. It was a windy day and the kayak was a bit hard to control. I wish that they would have markers in the water trails. Eat at the small restaurant that they had there, I was hunger so eat, but was not all that good.
Likes It’s a great location right next to some of the big cruisers and port. Great place to barbecue and a picnic spot for sure. Things to improve The kayak and paddle boarding space is limited because of so many boats. It’s upstream to kayak, and there are no special pathways to explore. I couldn’t go more than 200 m. It could be specific today, but just because of us so much boats going I could not kayak at all. Rentals are expensive - comparing to Oleta State Park - the rentals are slightly expensive Can be crowded because of limited space
Very pretty area, but the check-in experience was awful. It took almost a half an hour to fill out all of the online forms. As nice as our kayaking experience was, I would never return.
Poor wifi by sign in and you can only use QR code to sign waiver. Took 45 minutes to sign waivers as opposed to if you had hard copy as alternative it would be 5 minutes.
Ordered paddle boards, but the tide was low, so that was cancelled. Seems predictable. We got kayaks instead. They said they would refund the difference and we should follow-up the next day if that didn’t happen. Who is going to check their credit card statement for a refund while on vacation? Didn’t get a refund. Maybe I’ll try to get the refund this week. Maybe it’s already too late. Also, seems like a lot of work to get a partial refund on a reservation that they really shouldn’t have taken. Aside from that, it was a nice spot to kayak and paddle board. The people there were pleasant and otherwise helpful. Just make sure to keep track of your money, if that is important to you. And be sure to not give your credit card for any reservation during low tide. Consult your astronomical tables for exact times; it varies every day.
Food was pricey and bad. Ordered a sandwich and a hamburger, after 25 minutes waiting the hamburger was cold and there were only miserable pieces of the leftovers of an onion and 3 slices of lettuce. Completely shame! Do not waste your money on food. Bring your own food and enjoy the beach The spot is great, so perhaps for kayaking and having a drink is good. But PLEASE do not waste your money in food. Paid $18 for a sad sad hamburger :(
Due to the low tide, we encountered some challenges while kayaking in certain areas. We had to push the kayak for approximately a quarter of the time. $50 for 2 hours on a double kayak is a too much. We made it to the intercostal and turned the kayak around to head back. They don't allow kayaking in the intercostal. 2 hours was enough time to go up and back. I would like to express my concern regarding the automatic tip that was added to my bill. While I understand that credit card fees may be passed on to the customer, I believe that mandating a tip is not an appropriate practice. It would be more appropriate to leave the decision of tipping to the customer's discretion.
I would rate this place 0 stars if I could. I went to Whiskey Creek in attempts to celebrate a friend’s birthday, but the EXTREMELY RUDE rental attendant, AKIL (sp?) REFUSED to rent my fiancé and I a kayak. The whether was absolutely stunning, sunny with clouds, the perfect day for the water, but Akil refused. His excuse was lightning, but the sky was clear. To the owners of Whiskey Creek: if your attendant is having a bad day, by the love of God, please ensure that they do not ruin the customers’ day as well. To be frank, Akil most definitely ruined my day. As long as that man works at this establishment, I will not be coming back.
The signs lead you in all kinds of different directions only found somewhat of an entrance from Google maps and the only place we found to get to this hideout was a closed gate and couldn’t park anywhere but by the boat launch and then had to walk the rest of the way, needless to say we gave up and went to lucky fish, this is definitely a hideout because we couldn’t find it
