Super friendly and helpful staff. They will totally customize your coffee to get what you want without a crazy price. I love the safety precautions. They really have it down without it being a confusing mess. They have nice restrooms and lots of sanitizer and hand washing area. Everything was simple and the outdoor tables were nice. We got delicious drinks for our relaxing Sunday morning stroll.

I've never been to a coffee shop like this. You order a flavor and they grind the beans together and brew it. It's like having a sommelier who makes you a specific blend of wine. There is a Starbucks down the street for those who want a quick shot of caffeine. For the coffee connoisseur, Philz is the place. And it's a nice place to sit and enjoy your cup.

I freaking love this place. Each coffee is made to perfection one cup at a time. The server calls you up and ask you which type of copy you would like and if you would like sugar cream and the gradient of sweetness. I tried a Jacob's Wonder bar medium sweetened his with cream and it was fantastic. The next time I had the turkish, which was infused with cardamom and mint. That cup of coffee was fantastic. I bought a bunch of beans and I will definitely be frequenting that location.

Excellent selection of unique coffee blends, made fresh in front of you. Also, their cucumber toast was so surprisingly delicious I am returning almost entirely because of that! Great coffee house ambience with tons of charging outlets and a welcoming low-key vibe. Recommend.

There was only one woman working behind the counter,, and despite how busy it was,, she was very friendly and got our coffee out very quick. The inside was clean,, and lots of available seating. The coffee was delicious as well !

This is one of the biggest Philz I’ve ever been in. I’ve been in four different locations, and this one could be my favorite. Although I was visiting from out of town, I would definitely make this a regular stop for my caffeine addiction. If you have the app, I would suggest ordering ahead then just go in and have a seat and wait till your order is called. They have a small amount of cups for sale, I was hoping they would have some shirts. They did have one dad hat, but it wasn’t my style. There was lots of tables and people working on their laptops and enjoying a cup of Joe.

My orders always come out as I order it. I always get what I paid for. Internet is almost always stable. This place is always clean. Can get crowded. Street parking.

The pastries are some of the best in town for sure as well, I got a couple of blueberry flakey goodies and if is a bite left at all for my partner when I get home it will be a miracle. 10/10 will be back ver ver soon.

Awesome place to go for working on homework and enjoying some coffee. Enough options tables and chairs. They have a charging stations, which is super cool! The coffee is yummy and the staff were really nice. I just didn't care for an employee yelling people's names obnoxiously the time I was there..

Pretty nice location. Drinks take a while to get, but the app pick up time seems to be pretty accurate. It is also nice to that a receipt with the order details spelled out, unlike Starbucks that only shows you the total and need to really hunt for details. This location can get pretty crowded since it is near the UCD campus.

I really enjoyed pulling up my laptop and co-working here with my friends for a couple hours. Can't speak for their whole menu, but I ordered their signature black coffee and it was good. If you're looking for a $5 coffee and a place to relax or work, I would steer over to Philz.

I had high hopes, and the place looked good, but we still had a mediocre experience. We were slow deciding so the person at the register suggested we move to the back of the line, so we waited a bit longer. Not a problem. After we waited for our coffee and pastries the cashier apologized that they had sold out of what my wife wanted to the person before us. She picked something else.and we paid for the extra dollar of.cost. We asked for both pastries toasted and they were not warm. My wife did not like her pastry, mine was good but small. My wife's mocha was good, my Gingersnap had spices too strong so it was difficult to drink hot. The barrista was nice and changed part of my drink for coffee and milk.

Philz is the spot in Davis to get coffee, and only coffee - no espresso here folks. They exclusively offer flavored coffees, which is off-putting for fans of high quality beans. Basically, philz is for trendy folks that want exotic sounding drinks for a hefty price. A small coffee here is $3.50, so plan on splurging a bit. I had the "Tantalizing Turkish" which is the closest thing to a normal dark roast coffee, only with cardemom and mint leaves added. I think it's decent, but even those flavors don't truly hide the heavily over-roasted beans. The best thing about philz is the "experience". Philz has a startup feel as a company, and it comes through in the lobby of the store. There are comfy couches, lots of space - think cozy warehouse. Overall, this is mediocre coffee dressed up with flavors. Some people are going to like that a lot. Kudos to them, but I will not be a regular.

I visited my old, favorite coffee shop for the holidays. I was so disappointed to see how the shop had diteriated. All the plants were dead. The couches sink down and have rips in them. Philz can certainly afford to spruce up the place. This is a coffee shop, loved by so many. Take the political flags down and serve your great coffee. The recent election is over!

Since I have Celiac, I cannot eat anything at Philz. The coffee is tasty, but the server was socializing when he had a long line.

I usually get the same thing at Philz. a large philtered soul, extra sweet and creamy...the Davis location probably makes it the worst of all locations. It's almost just watered down, not sweet or creamy. I feel there has to be someone quality controlling this. Update: you can ask them to adjust "add" more of the brown sugar or cream to your taste.

For a coffee place the coffee was below average. Personally I prefer McDonald's coffee over this watered down drink. Atmosphere was good and location is great. Also almost 5 bucks for a coffee.

Food was good but coffee ill pass not what I expected

I don’t often have money and time to get a $7 cup of coffee, but it is a nice treat. Was up early, figured to get one on the way in. Ordered at 7:45, ready at 7:55. Perfect. Went there at 8:00. Only about 10 people there, no line. Great. Check for barista to check in with. App says updated to pickup at 7:15. Ok, will wait , tight timeline though. . Updated pick up to 8:25. Can’t do it, just leave to get to work. Now, out $7, no coffee, and my pick up time is now 8:30. Now 8:35. Now 8:50. Note, my order was just 1 black coffee. No way to cancel and get my money back.
