New face in an old place. Much needed elevated dining. Very warm ambiance. Very tiny space, but they make the best of it. It states a 2-hour seating time in the menu. Single bathroom rooms him/hers. Plenty of parking. Small bar top. Accommodating to food allergies. Menu was excellent. Very fresh. Very reasonable as expected, pricing for the environment. Large portions on apps and main entrees. Food was truly as described. Fresh bread on the table before dinner. It was cold. Definitely could have been warm to feel a little better on the table, in the hand. Slice of butter was a large flat unique square, however that could have been a little more fun for the holidays. Appetizers were fantastic. Unique and classics available. Dessert was unique - multiple choices. Lemoncello parfait. Wine, small but nice selection. Wait staff was attentive, funny, and kind. They need dessert spoons wink, wink. If one is going to serve a champagne style dessert, the customer needs to get to the bottom of it. Can't wait to come back!
Excellent and quaint gem of a neighborhood Italian restaurant. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. Food was excellent, flavorful , and carefully prepared. Definitely will recommend and go back.
I took my boyfriend here randomly and that was the best decision ever. Extremely small and fully packed so we knew the food was going to be amazing from the second we walked in. Friendly staff. Amazingly fresh tasting ingredients and flavors out of this world. Nice ambiance dimly lit. Romantic A hidden gem. I texted all my family members to go there ASAP. My mom booked for the next night. WONDERFUL!
I am almost speechless. That was by far one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was outstanding. The service was amazing. The best Italian food in the Capital Region. The seafood, burrata, proscuitto (cut right in front of you), everything, was SO fresh. Make a reservation and go here. I cannot wait to go back! Zuppa de pesce pictures below. Still thinking about it!

We’re there frequently and the food is consistently excellent. Menu is full of well executed traditional Italian dishes. Staff is friendly and very attentive. Icing on the cake - prices are very reasonable for high quality offerings. We plan to continue visiting often.
The food is great Italian. The service is attentive. However, the restaurant is small and is very popular so it is a bit noisy. Be advised that there are two sittings, 5pm and 7 pm. The wine list consists of imports from various Italian regions. I would suggest making a reservation.
enjoyed a great dinner here with a friend. food, service and atmosphere were all wonderful. will absolutely be back.
Food was very good. Excellent arugula/beet salad and crispy Brussels sprouts. Other diners reported delicious dinners. Good size portions and nicely presented. Service attentive without being invasive. Very busy night, full bar and full tables. We were welcomed and cared for despite the busy evening. I would visit again. Prices were a little high as a first impression but the quality of the food was worth it.
Perfect neighborhood restaurant. A restrained vibe. Good wine list. The way it works is that there is a limited regular menu but then the wait staff tells you the specials which are plentiful and varied. Unfussy and quietly competent from the seating to the wine to the service. Just relax and order anything. It will all work.
It’s probably a 4.5 overall, but service is fantastic and food is enjoyable so I’m rounding up. We often get lots of small plates and sit at the bar to talk with bar tender and other patrons. Food is very good, but a tad expensive, worth the occasional visit. Good wine and beer choices. The calamari (not fried) and brussel sprouts are some our favorites.
I was there early, my first time in a restaurant by myself. I was greeted by several of the staff and felt welcomed immediately. I ordered linguini and clams in a white wine sauce and it was perfect. The linguini was al dente and the clams tasted fresh out of the ocean. The bread my server brought over was warm with a crisp crust, perfect for sopping up the sauce. The finale to this perfect meal was the dessert, a lemoncello parfait, perfection. I wish I could come here several times a week!
This restaurant is awesome. The best addition to Delmar in recent years. The owner Mike is the man! Not only does he run the restaurant, but he is the head chef and will slice prosciutto right in front of you on an old school slicer. The brussels sprouts are to die for, it’s the perfect blend of salty vinegar/sweet Sprinkled with Parmesan it is heaven in your mouth. I really love the chicken marsala as well. My dad loves the veal chops there, they are huge and delicious. Tonight we had the short rib orecchiette special and it was fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant! I also recommend getting reservations. Thank you, Pastina for a great dinner!
I had my daughter’s bridal shower at Pastina’s and I could not be happier. From the food to the service everything was absolutely perfect! The owner Mike was so easy to work with. Everyone commented on how wonderful each dish was. Thank you for making our event so special!
My favorite restaurant ever!!! I definitely recommend the Chicken Francais and tiramisu. I’ve been coming here for years and the service is consistently perfect. The food is consistently amazing. Great wine list.
Place was awesome. Quaint and friendly atmosphere. Food was amazing. And the waiter Patrick was very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend

Waiter was very nice. No cocktails. Just beer and wine. A la cart. Food was good but I felt the ragu was missing something. An herb maybe.

Small intimate setting(6 tables) BYO for Alcohol. The negatives were few so I'll list them first. No air conditioning on the warm evening we went there. The waitress was wonderful but overworked. It's difficult to properly service 6 tables (24 people) at once so while she was very good a second helper would have made the service flawless. The positives were many. Intimate dinner atmosphere, reasonable prices, delicious well prepared meals and food presentation were all excellent. I most certainly will return. The veal was able to be cut without a knife. Delicious!
Trying to be fair and equitable here. First time here at this establishment. Very small with limited seating inside and out but food was very good ( quality & presentation), however service could have been better. Waiting time for drinks after initial order was longer than expected. Maybe they were understaffed. Not going to beat up this establishment understanding the current workforce shortages but that’s why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. Other than that , a good eatery.
Pastina is a very quaint restaurant, make sure to make a reservation. The service was very friendly and professional. The food was outstanding for our 6 guests, my only complaint is that the restaurant is not very gluten free friendly. Out of our party of 6, 3 have celiac disease and their options were limited. BTW, this restaurant is beer (draft) and wine only. Everyone did enjoy their meals after finding items that would work for them. I strongly recommend Pastina.

This was our 4th time here. The staff is VERY nice and the place has a nice atmosphere. The first time the soup was good, the last three times- tasteless as if they forgot the seasoning. The barciola dish does not come with braciola as listed, maybe they should update their online menu. The chicken parm was stringy and tasted off, we threw it out. The pasta was "ok". The broccoli rabe dish was acceptable and the bread was good. Gave the place 4 tries because the choices in Delmar are few but will not return. Completely unacceptable.

After being referred to go by friends, we were real excited to try an Italian restaurant that’s in town. We were disappointed. Pros, we had a reservation and sat right down. The burrata was delicious and they had a good wine list. Cons, we didn’t like either veal entree we had. Milanese (one of my favorite meals) was soggy but tender. Pan roasted veal was overly fatty. Pasta was over cooked and too soft. Dinners and pasta just weren’t good or good enough. We really wanted to have a good experience. Hope we just had bad servings.
