I love this bar! Great Food specials during the week and Thursdays are always LIT!
Nice local bar that had a great bartender named Jerimiah who was very nice and made some really good drinks!

My rating is 5 stars bc I love coming here but if I had to rate the bartender, Hayden, I would give him negative 7348548738 stars. He is the worst, extremely rude, and I'd rather die of thirst than order a drink from him. All of the other bartenders are so nice and friendly.
If you don’t do the Frye Street bar crawl On your birthday, you are not living lol I had such a great time. I ended up in the hospital with staples in my head. And I will never regret a single minute of it 🤣🤣🤣
Dress code was appropriate, drinks were cheap, had a great time 10/10 will def come back. Amazing friendly staff, place was spotless the whole time. DJ was booming
Had a great time with Hayden the bartender. It was my first time visiting a “college” bar but it definitely didn’t feel like that. Hayden was a great guy and even gave me some work out tips maybe later I’ll add a before and after about using his tips
LOVE LOVE LOVE coming here every weekend to debrief and have fun with friends! My favorite bartender Garret really knows how to make amazing cocktails and shots! If you need someone to make you a nice drink highly recommend going to Garret 🙂↕️
Hayden, the DJ tonight was great. Took some requests too. Beer was well priced.
Fry street tavern is always a good time, either it being their friendly and helpful staff or their fun and lively music. Tavern is a place where all can come and have a great experience and I can’t wait for my next!
My buddy Austin was the bar manager here for a long time and I used to come out more often when I was younger. It is a college bar so keep that in mind. But super inexpensive well drinks and plenty of good music. Great place to socialize and dance!
Tavern is no doubt the best bar in Denton. The staff are undoubtedly helpful and always assist no matter what. If any conflict happens the staff make sure to take care of it immediately. It is very clean and the music is awesome. Not to mention the owner is really cool and always standing by the men’s bathroom being social with all customers. Fry Street Tavern is the best bar on the strip and the best bar in Denton
maddie is a 10/10 bartender! back in october i let her cut me in the bathroom so she could hurry and go back to making me more drinks! she’s the best!!

Literally best bar in Denton. Like if you’re not here what are you doingggg. Garrett in particular literally saved my life. Hes the best bartender. Caesar is the hottest too.

Great vibe, crowd and DJ. Gets too crowded after 12. Drinks are good.
The staff here was very nice! Very willing to fix things. Points off for having a very bland interior, I mean if you just want a large open space to stand around drinking with friends then you're in luck. The chicken Alfredo pizza was tasty, but the tacos weren't great, not bad just probably wouldn't get them again.

Caleb, one of the bouncers here, was on a complete power trip the other night. Not sure if he's employed by this establishment or if he's just there for the frat events. I paid the $5 cover for men and received a wristband. My group and I left the bar around 30 minutes in to check out Public House. When we came back to Tavern, Caleb tried making me pay again despite the fact I already had a wristband. Not sure if this is standard policy, but if it is, it wasn't communicated very well. Anyways, after he tried getting me to pay, I muttered some profanities under my breath which I admit I was at fault for. He demanded an apology and I said that I was sorry. After I apologized, Caleb said "good boy", which I felt was extremely demeaning and rude. I assumed everything was okay, but when I tried walking inside, he grabbed me by the collar and violently threw me out. This is completely unprofessional behavior from a bouncer. He also tried making my friend re-pay the cover fee but luckily his more sensible co-worker let them in. Please vet your bouncers better and stop letting little boys with big egos play make-believe cop with your patrons. Pretty good drinks and music though.
*In response to owner* Two words: Ad Hominem. Not a bot, real opinion. The actual fake reviews are the 5 star reviews that are all friends of Tavern's staff. Bad staffing is not on the customers. He didn't treat me with respect. Nothing bad was said against the bar, (except for their ONE bad staffing choice) just the single bartender alone. All other bartenders are awesome. Tavern would flourish without Chase. When I went to Fry Street Tavern recently, I had an awful time because of a bartender named Chase. As soon as I walked up to the bar, he gave me a rude look and sighed loudly. It was obvious right away that he didn't want to serve me or anyone else. Even though the bar wasn't busy, I had to wait an unreasonably long time before he acknowledged me. He seemed more interested in chatting with his coworkers than paying attention to customers. When I asked for a drink recommendation, Chase just shrugged and seemed clueless about the drinks they had. He was SO rude, and had a horrible attitude. It was clear he didn't want to help and made me feel like I was bothering him instead of being a valued customer. Overall, my visit to Fry Street Tavern was ruined by Chase's poor service. His unprofessional and disrespectful behavior was unacceptable. I strongly suggest that management take action to address these issues and improve their customer service or reconsider their staffing choices. This kind of incompetence reflects badly on the entire establishment, and it has definitely made me decide not to go back.
I was having a good time, the place has a nice atmosphere and good vibe. But after a beer and 2 shots I went to the bar and was told by the bartender that he already told me I couldn’t get anymore drinks. I hadn’t even ordered drinks from that bartender before. So I just talked to my friends minding my own business and I get kicked out by a bouncer.. I would just like some clarification because there were people at the bar way more drunk than me
The new dress code? No tank tops? You’re a small bar in a college town, not some high class bar. There goes all the business! They kicked me out when everyone around me is wearing the SAME THING! The homophobia jumped. Never again. That was disgusting.
Their responses to peoples poor experiences in their bar speaks loud enough to show you the kind of service and attitude you will receive. Extremely immature and discriminative business practices, which is shocking considering the location. Disappointing is an understatement. Do better or get better, more inclusive management.
0/5 Stars I had an unacceptable experience here in October. After waiting in a long restroom line, it was my turn to enter and the bartender had already used the restroom, but attempted to let friends bypass the line. I was told I could not enter because she “runs the bar.” The situation escalated when physical contact occurred and I was pushed out of the restroom. Multiple witnesses were present, and a police report was filed. Following the incident, I was asked to leave and informed that I was not permitted to re-enter.

DO NOT BOOK/ATTEND EVENTS. Security guards do not have proper licenses. On an extreme power trip. Ripped drinks from me and female friends hands and overly aggressive. Realized mistake and didn’t even get apology. Guys name was Leslie. Both of us where over 21 but Leslie was on an extreme power trip, manhandled drinks out of both of our hands, threw them away, then double checked id’s. After realizing they where legitimate ids, left the scene without a word. Absolutely embarrassing for the tavern.
