In town and staying downtown, we were looking for a lively bar with great food and drinks before catching an Avalanche game, and A5 absolutely delivered. We came during happy hour (3:30–5:30 pm) and grabbed seats at the bar, which was buzzing in the best way. The drink deals alone are worth it: $10 Negronis, martinis, margaritas, and daiquiris (regularly $18+). Solid pours, well balanced, no shortcuts. We ordered the chef’s choice oysters, fresh and perfectly chilled. Simple, clean, and done right. We also tried the wagyu yakitori from the happy hour menu. Dinner service starts at 5 pm, and they do offer full sit down dining service if you prefer a table experience. Shoutout to Brittany, our bartender. Friendly, efficient, and kept the energy up even while the bar was packed. Fun ambiance, busy but not chaotic, and a great pre game vibe. Would absolutely come back, game night or not. Next time I’ll opt for dinner service. A 20% automatic gratuity is added to the check, and no complaints here. The service was excellent.
Overall a great experience at A5 steakhouse. The feel of the restaurant is laid back, quaint and contemporary. We had a reservation and were seated fairly quickly. Service was prompt with an our waiter having a great attitude. We enjoyed a wedge salad. Which was good but definitely a strong flavor. If you are looking for a lighter salad then the wedge would not be your choice. Main course was a Tri Tip with Crocquette Mac-n-cheese, and some fired rice. Meat was served medium rare and it was cooked well. Slight Smokey flavor on the outside. The mac-n-cheese croquettes were outstanding. While the fried rice was extremely salty and our least favorite choice from our meal. Restaurant was fairly loud with lively music. But not too loud where you couldn’t hear each other talk. Overall it was a good experience. Biggest detractor is the automatic 20% service fee. I’m not a fan of the mandatory charges and find that an establishment should just raise their prices if they need to. Tipping should be based on service and not a mandated charge.
Killer happy hour, great food and ambiance. Service was odd; everything was efficient but not friendly. We would have ordered more but it seemed we couldn’t (plates and utensils collected without asking.) There is a 20% gratuity included in bill. Worth it, honestly. The oysters, croquettes, and burger were all terrific. Draft cocktails for a restaurant of this caliber is an interesting choice, but those were good too!
We had such a nice time at A5. We ordered the croquettes to start, shared a scallop entree and each tried a steak. The sauces (house and chimichurri) were so good too. Our server, Sarah, was knowledgeable, and the service was great. Everyone we interacted with (the host, sommelier, food runner) was down to Earth and friendly. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and experience.
Truly a spectacular experience. The atmosphere is inviting and not pretentious, they play great classic rock. The service here is attentive, welcoming and informative. The food is out of this world. The steaks are delicious as well as the sides. We ordered the bacon for an app and loved it. I highly recommend. With out steaks we choose the Mac and cheese croquettes (so good, the spicy sauce they come with….delicious) and the mashed potatoes. The potatoes might be the best I’ve ever had (don’t tell my mom that). The only slight miss for us was dessert; neither of us cared for the chocolate bar it was a little sour and the banana cream threw us off. That aside it’s so worth coming here, I can easily say it’s the best steak I’ve had in Denver and honestly probably my favorite meal.
Came here by myself and on top of one of the best meals I’ve had in my entire life, the service from Brent was next level. Great recommendations from him for oysters and sides and of course I had to try the Tri-tips on top of those. I’m hoping to return before I leave town and try some dessert because I couldn’t possibly find the room tonight! All photos I took after having a bite because I couldn’t resist haha. Thanks to the A5 team!
Great steakhouse! Very high quality steak that was tender and had great flavor. The atmosphere was comfortable and the waiter was knowledgeable and took great care of us. The Tenderloin and Delmonico steak were delicious!
Had a variety. Korean lettuce wrap that was with wagyu beef and their baconkimchi fried rice. Absolutely fabulous. Service superb. Cocktails fantastic. As usual say at bar
The drinks here are pretty legit! I love it! Manhattan is super good!!! The oysters are pretty fresh and delicious! The Wagyu Yakitori is a must!! I ate two of them!🤤
That was the most delicious steak I've had! Would recommend the Denver, Picanha (pictured), and Santa Maria Tri-tip! Love this place!
Extraordinary. We ordered the picanha (pictured) and tri-tip steaks and they were phenomenal. We ordered chimichurri for both which added tremendous flavor. The Japanese milk bread rolls, whipped potatoes and cocktails were phenomenal as well. Though it is pricey, we will absolutely return.
Absolutely loved everything about our experience here, from the music, decor and environment to the service and HH deals as well! My husband and I enjoyed a delightful pickled jalapeño colossal shrimp cocktail and calamari from the HH menu then decided to treat ourselves to the fine steak selection for dinner. We came here before a comedy show at Ball Arena and it was just a delightful walk away from the venue. Awesome food and drinks- so good in fact that I forgot to take more photos!! Please forgive me 🤗 but can’t wait to come back.
Generally excellent with exceptional food. All three of us think it's the best meal we've had in years. And special thanks to the staff for recognizing our aspiring-food-critic son's 11th birthday. (Photo taken as we were leaving.)
First dining experience at the A5 Steakhouse for a business dinner downtown Denver. I did Uber to avoid parking issues since there was an Avalanche game that night…we won!! Showed up early for happy hour cocktails at the bar, friendly staff! Happy hour menu was great… must try the Wagyu Yakitori and Macaroni & Cheese Croquette! Cocktails turned into a dinner with colleagues and we were not disappointed. The ambience in the back was great and you could have a conversation and be heard. Several entrees ordered with sides and served family style, best way to try as much as you can in one setting. Favorite steak was the Denver. Chimichurri sauce was to die for! Korean lettuce wraps were super tasty! Everything was delicious. Our server, Ricky, showed up with a smile every time he came to our table. He was very patient and accommodating. Our drinks were never empty, especially my water glass which was filled about 5 times. (He’ll probably remember me after that comment. 🤣) Bathroom was clean, always important to know these things. Definitely recommend this restaurant!!
Truly an awesome experience! Every bite of food was so pleasurable! The entire staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely will be back. Would recommend this restaurant experience to every one!
I wish I would’ve taken more pictures but honestly after my first bite, I couldn’t stop eating because every single thing that came out was so delicious! Tip: GET THE BACON FOR YOUR APPETIZER🥹 The steaks were absolute perfection. We tried four different sauces and they were all exquisite, the roasted squash was mouthwatering, and they even gave me a little candle with their butter cake (which was delicious) for my birthday. It was the cutest! I cannot wait to get back to Denver to go back here and I will 1000% recommend this to anyone who travels to the Denver area.
The happy hour macaroni and cheese croquette were maybe the single best bite had while in Denver this week. Perfect thin breading crisp and still gooey creamy mac and cheese inside but the surprising star to the show was that red sauce. The jimmy nardello chilis in the tomatoes jam sauce had such an amazing taste not sure I'd ever had them, slightly sweet w just the tiniest heat but real chili pepper flavor thru n thru. Want to make a pizza with that sauce so bad. Great oysters as well, real friendly shucker. But the rest of the service at the bar was quite poor, both guys at the bar seemed like they didn't want to be there with a miserable tone and hardly friendly at all or with questions about the menu would be lame single toned staring off often not engaging, that was untill they would brighten up chatting away together around corner of bar night and day diff was just kind of odd uncomfortable
A5 Steakhouse – Where Flavor Wears a Tuxedo and Kendall Steals the Show Let me set the stage: you're not just eating at A5 Steakhouse—you're embarking on a full-blown flavor expedition, and your guide? None other than the incomparable Kendall, a server so intuitive, charming, and genuinely enthusiastic you'd think the restaurant was named after them. We kicked things off with the beef tartare, which might just be a small plate but delivers a heavyweight punch of decadence. Delicately seasoned, impossibly fresh, and plated with the kind of precision that would make a Swiss watch blush—it’s the kind of starter that says, “Oh, we’re fancy now.” Then came the kimchi fried rice with bacon—a dish that could’ve easily stolen the spotlight if it weren’t for everything else being just as amazing. This isn't your average side; it’s a bold, spicy-sour-salty umami bomb laced with smoky bacon that hits all the right notes. It's what comfort food would taste like if it went to culinary grad school in Seoul. Now, the crown jewel: the picanha steak cooked “Max the Chef” style. I don’t know who Max is, but if there's a culinary hall of fame, this man deserves a wing. Charred perfectly on the outside, juicy and unapologetically rich within—it’s beef elevated to an art form. Every bite made me consider writing a thank-you card to the cow. And Max. Definitely Max. Throughout it all, Kendall was the true MVP—navigating the evening with grace, great timing, and just the right amount of sass. Water glasses were never empty, recommendations were on point, and the vibe was pure hospitality gold. TL;DR: If you’re wondering whether A5 is worth it, stop. Go. Bring friends. Order everything. Ask for Kendall. Thank me later.
Great experience! The slow cooked pork belly was the best I have ever had. Juicy steaks! I love you can customize with a wide variety of different sauces. Plus you can add bone marrow. Our server, Colleen, was knowledgeable and attentive. Overall, wonderful night.
We had an excellent first experience at A5. Carley, our server, guided us through the menu and helped us pick dishes that matched our taste preferences and were also popular. The food was excellent - every dish exceeded our expectations, and we enjoyed the subtle Asian influences throughout. When we were leaving, it started to downpour. Kevin and Brent were kind enough to make us a great drink while we waited and hook us up with makeshift umbrellas. Overall, service was outstanding and food was delicious!
Went in for happy hour and got a burger, fries and salad. All were excellent. My only complaint was the booth I was at was in front of the bar and I had to listen to employees conversations that overshadowed. Pretty good burger for the price point in a fun location.
Great experience! Loved the place. It's not your classic steakhouse, the inside is way more funky with green, flamingos, and such. The atmosphere is a tad more relaxed as well. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The only person who worked against everyone else seemed to be the hostess. Don't ruin servers' good job! They are great. The food was outstanding. It took us a while to find a steak in Denver that we would enjoy over cooking ourselves. We started with shrimp cocktail, which was very good, but not to the level of the rest of the evening. I guess we were surprised it had no kick at all, but the sauce was tasty, just not very intense. Then, we had the mains: bavette, dry aged NY strip (special, not always available), fries (risk of cross-contamination for GF people), and broccolini. The meat was just perfect and delicious. The aioli that comes with fries is incredible and a bit lemony. The broccolini surprised us, being very flavourful as well, but I could not explain what was done to them. Finally, we ate the meat with Thai Chili and Bordelaise sauces - the first one being light, bright, and just a bit spicy, the second rich and delicious. Overall, we are already thinking about stopping for a happy hour someday. While they do not have dedicated gluten free dishes, our server was very helpful in navigating the menu and learning where there are risks of cross-contamination or where soy sauce is added. After all, steak itself is safe, so it's easy to get an amazing dinner while being GF. Try it!
A5 is amazing! The staff is great, the food is spectacular and the atmosphere is nice. I would highly recommend it.
Didn’t order steak at this steakhouse, but man all the food we ordered was good. The crab and lobster salad was absolutely mind blowing, I wish I had ordered 3 of these. Seriously, it’s a absolute must! The hamachi is a good selection if you like sushi, if not you could pass on it. The bacon kimchi fried rice was very good and the Korean lettuce wraps were delicious. The kennebec fries were crispy. The A5 hot chicken was tender and moist and I loved the flavor. Great place to try for a downtown dinner.
Wow. It takes a lot to blow my mind when it comes to food these days, but A5 Steakhouse delivered an experience that was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was perfect—modern yet cozy, with just the right amount of buzz to make it feel special. I was nervous about choosing a steakhouse for my buddy’s bachelor party. You know how it goes—everyone’s a critic when it comes to steak. But A5 nailed it on every level, and I couldn’t have been happier with the decision. Let’s talk food. My steak was incredible—perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and tender as can be. And get this—I didn’t even order one of the most expensive cuts! The sides were absurdly good—those mashed potatoes? Unreal. I’d honestly come back just for them. And the desserts? They weren’t just an afterthought—they were phenomenal, the perfect way to cap off an unforgettable meal. I’m not a wine person at all, but our server picked out a bottle that turned into multiple bottles. And then there’s the cocktail I ordered, the Mexican Cousin. Let me tell you—it was brilliant. Creative, balanced, and packed with flavor, it might just be one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a long time. The service was flawless too. Our server handled the energy of a bachelor party like a pro—attentive, friendly, and patient without ever feeling overbearing. They made us feel like VIPs the entire night. When a place not only meets expectations but exceeds them for a high-stakes celebration, it’s worth shouting about. If you’re looking for a steakhouse in Denver that’s going to impress everyone in your group, pick A5. I can’t wait to come back.
My husband and I had the best experience here for a date night! Ash was our server and if you do anything from this review REQUEST HER. She went above and beyond to answer all of our questions and made amazing recommendations Everything we had as amazing! The scallop ceviche is something I will dream about until my next visit. The Japanese milk rolls are beyond delicious. And the steak brought tears to my eyes!
A5 Steakhouse – A Meal to Remember for a Lifetime When my brother—a serious foodie—brought me to A5 Steakhouse for my bachelor party, I knew we were in for something special. But I wasn’t prepared for just how special. This wasn’t just a meal; it was an experience, a masterclass in flavor, technique, and hospitality. I’ll be talking about this night for the next 50 years, and I’m not exaggerating. From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere set the stage. A5 is sleek, modern, and buzzing with energy, yet it carries an inviting warmth that makes you want to settle in and savor every second. The service? Spot-on—attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to guide us through an unforgettable meal. Now, let’s talk about the food. Every single bite was divine. We started with their signature milk bread rolls, golden brown with a glossy, buttery sheen, practically melting in your mouth. Then came the bone marrow, rich and indulgent, topped with caramelized onions that added just the right balance of sweetness and depth. If you’re wondering whether to add this to your order—don’t wait and don’t you dare hesitate. It’s an absolute must. And then there was the steak. Perfectly cooked, beautifully charred, and impossibly tender, this was the kind of steak that resets your expectations for what steak should be. The accompaniments weren’t just afterthoughts—they were just as meticulously crafted. Roasted garlic, charred onions, and fresh greens added contrast, while the flavors of every dish played off each other in the best way possible. We also dove into crispy golden croquettes sitting in a rich, velvety red sauce that had just the right touch of acidity to balance the decadence. Every dish felt intentional, every detail was dialed in. Yes, A5 is expensive—but it’s so worth it. This isn’t just another fancy dinner; it’s a meal that etches itself into your memory, a dining experience that will always leave you wanting more. Some meals come and go. This one stays with you. If you’re considering coming here for a special occasion (or, honestly, just to treat yourself), don’t second-guess it. This is the place.
A5 did not disappoint! The service was outstanding, our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was well worth it. On a Sunday night the food came out hot and on time. The steaks were the correct temperature and delicious. I definitely recommend A5 steakhouse
An excellent steakhouse. - Excellent service. - I tried the tenderloin steak. It was very delicious and juicy. - I really liked the variety of choices for the home made sauces. It added a unique flavor to the food. - The desert was excellent as well. Overall, this is a solid choice for a steakhouse.
Such an incredible experience! A Galentine’s night out, we decided to go all out by having a decadent, expensive night out and we couldn’t have had a more memorable and delicious night. Brent was so kind and so attentive, the sommelier was so helpful and knowledgeable and the staff in their entirety couldn’t have been more wonderful. Thank you so very much!
A5 was incredible. So incredible that I went back two nights in a row. The steaks were perfectly seasoned and cooked, the bernaise sauce was phenomenal, and the seafood sides were done outstanding. Incredible oyster selection and great happy hour prices. When I’m back in Denver, I will absolutely be back.
This was mine and my girlfriend’s second time visiting A5 and it was just as good if not better this time as last time. We returned for our second anniversary celebration, and it was a spectacular experience. Our server Casey was especially amazing. He gave such amazing recommendations, and his knowledge of the menu was very helpful and impressive. He also has an amazing sense of humor and was so friendly and personable. I think his service perfectly complimented the delicious meal my girlfriend and I shared. I ordered the Bavette steak “chef Max style” which came with grilled alliums and bone marrow, my girlfriend ordered the Denver steak with the bordelaise sauce, and we shared their famous Mac and cheese croquettes, Japanese milk rolls, and bacon kimchi fried rice. The presentation of these dishes was spot on, and the flavors were even better. The steak was cooked perfectly and was quite possibly some of the best steak I’ve ever eaten. I also thoroughly enjoyed each and every side dish we ordered. To finish off the night, we enjoyed the corn cake dessert which was delightful. Another moment that made our experience even more special was when the general manager took the time to congratulate us, and he even recalled our previous visit when we celebrated our first anniversary! This has definitely become a tradition for us now. We will definitely be back! Thank you A5 for another unforgettable experience!
The food was amazing here! I have grown a particular fondness towards their "Beef Tartare Katsu Sando". 😄 It's delicious! The servers were incredibly courteous and friendly. 🥰 They had great recommendations and were quite attentive during the meal. They provided small, discrete lamps during dinnertime to all of the tables, which helps for those who are vision-impaired or would just like a little more light to see the menu 😆 👍 The drinks were great and (obviously) so were the steaks! I can't wait to come back soon 🔥🤗
We enjoyed dinner at A5 for the first time on New Year’s Day. We ordered the curry poutine, picahna, scallops, whipped potatoes, milk bread rolls, and brown butter cake. Everything tasted amazing! Our server Casey was awesome too, and gave good recommendations. You can tell he really likes his job and is great at customer service! The only thing that threw us off was the 20% service charge that is not gratuity, so we ended up paying over $100 more for our meal in that fee and the tip we left.
My wife and I had an incredible experience on Valentine's day. The meal was delicious but what made this a unique experience was how well the GM and staff treated us. We will definitely be returning customers.
An upscale restaurant with a premium price tag. The steak was tender and flavorful, though the pricing felt steep for what was offered. The ambiance was fairly casual and less formal than an old-school fine dining spot, which didn’t match the level of pricing. Even though I dined with just my daughter, a 20% service charge was automatically added. The downtown Denver location also makes street parking difficult.
We enjoyed our evening here celebrating. Rhe waitress was nice, explained the menu clarely and even gave suggestions. She mistakenly took my drink away but was apologetic and replaced it. The atmosphere was a bit loud with the music but the music selecrion was diverse. I thought cheese on the fried rice was weird but i absolutely loved and enjoyed the rolls and bass.
Okay first thing, this is not your average steakhouse. It is family friendly we enjoyed seeing so many different types of people getting dinner here. It wasn’t stuffy or snooty like a lot of upscale steakhouses. It was very difficult to decide what to get on the menu, so we got a lot of different items and had so much leftover for an additional dinner the next night. the Japanese poutine was so good. The fries were still crispy, the sauce was yummy and it wasn’t too messy to eat. the wedge salad was really good and a massive portion that I wasn’t expecting to get. I wasn’t a fan of the tomatoes in it and thought the pickled onions should’ve been cut smaller but was still yummy with their homemade dressing. the Japanese milk bread however stole the appetizer show for us! Talk about fluffy yet flavorful. We would’ve ordered several of them and even saw the table next to us skip dessert and order a 2nd round before they left from dinner. You MUST get it. We also got the Santa Maria tri tip (with bordelaise) and the picanha (with chimichurri). Both were perfectly cooked as requested and both had such different but distinctly delicious flavors. I personally thought trip tip was smoky and crispy and I wanted to eat it every day. The picanha had a different sear and marinade to it from the tri tip but was also delicious in its own right. We ended up getting the fries and the Mac and cheese as well as sides and the sauce with the fries was interesting… I wouldn’t get it again as it had a strangely sweet taste but not a pleasant one in my opinion. The Mac and cheese though were so creamy and paired so well with the pepper jam sauce! We obvi didn’t save room for dessert but who cares. The dinner was great! I would say the service was a little slow…. Looking around, it appeared each server had a lot of tables so we felt a little neglected. This was on a Monday night so I’d hate to see it during prime time! All in all the food was really good though and I’d go back and def bring people with me!
Poutine, beef tartare sando, tri tip and NY strip were really good. The complimentary sauce for steak also really good, would skip the kimchi friedrice. The service was great, had the NY strip under cooked and quickly solved, manager was attentive. I dont understand the service charge, I dont mind tipping 20% but it abit too much for additional. The overall service really worth 20% tips (or more). The service charge applies to all, regardless the number of your party. We were served some miso butter ice cream with corn cake and pineapple sauce on the house. Unfortunately we were too full to enjoy it, loved the ice cream.
Done here maybe 2x a year for work, spending $700+ for 3 people since it’s my boss’ favorite place. The tarte tare is middling & flavorless, as are the other cheaper steaks. The best part, the a5 wagyu is incredible but has been reduced to an appetizer & is the only A5 on the menu. Disappointing given the name. Great wine list though & though the ceviche, & the poutine is incredible while the pork belly steaks the show.
A very place to be. Food is good, most of the cut are thicker, so please consider it when telling them how you want it cooked. Also they ha e a 20% service fee.
A5 Denver – A Cut Above the Rest Really nice steakhouse—definitely above the standard. Great selection of beef cuts with interesting traceability back to the farms, which I always appreciate. Loved the knife—non-serrated, as it should be in any serious steakhouse (seeing a serrated knife is always a sin!). That said, it could use a bit of sharpening. I had the Denver steak and it was cooked to perfection: beautifully crisp on the outside and juicy inside. The only small note—there was just a bit too much pepper in the crust for my taste. Service is impeccable: friendly, casual, and attentive. The decor is also worth mentioning—modern and stylish with cool paintings of cows that give the place a unique vibe. Highly recommended if you’re in Denver! It’s just 5 minutes on foot from Union Station, or about 40 minutes by train from the airport.
Divine bartending skills and most importantly personalities! The absolute best fries I ever had, yes I'm talking about french fries here! Must try! Drinks the dirty martini but best part the blue cheese olives made in house. Oysters the West coast Oysters, so full and succulent with a light sweetness definitely worth the cost. I do love that the shucker broke down the protein weight and nutritional components that affirm the cost. That understanding alone is worth a pretty penny. The steaks last but certainly not least we're great. The quality of the meat and the story your able to read prior to making the decision helps your experience as you bite into there perfectly peppered steaks. We had to get another batch of fries of course. They were too good to pass up. Oh! The Japanese Whiskey!!! Excellent pallet enhancer and your breathe in the notes once with mouth closed and secondly with mouth open, then sip to take your pallet on a journey through a divine beverage experience! Can I say more... I actually can but ill let your experience Speak for itself. Thank you!
It was ok yesterday 2/14, my husband and I went last September and it delicious. The steak was so good, i gave 5 stars then. we went last night and it was just ok. Not 5 stars. The food didn’t seem hot, it was warm but didn’t seem hot. I ordered the same thing their 7oz tenderloin - filet mignon and my steak was bland. It was cooked med well so a sliver of pink, but no juices. When i cut into my steak i like some steak juice to come out. The little baby plates they served our food/steak, crab, and lobster on was off putting. Not as impressed.my steak was tender and all but like i said no flavor. Lobster tail was good.
The service was excellent and the wine list gives interesting options. We ordered the Tomahawk and were disappointed that it was served sliced (could not see the size on the bone) and wasn’t as tasty as many Ribeye. Note / the only way to get a Ribeye here is to order the Tomahawk. We also don’t recommend the mushrooms as they seemed over seasoned, were a small portion, and did not allow us to taste the mushrooms themselves.
I am not sure how fancy of a restaurant this is supposed to be, but it is expensive and also very dark, so I will assume it is on the higher end and judge it as such. Food: Beef tartare katsu sando This was the appetizer to start the night, and it was not a good one. It was actually just a beef tartare sandwich that was named a katsu sando, which should mean it has meat deep fried in bread crumbs. Now that I think about it the idea of beef tartare katsu sando is contradictory, but this misunderstanding could have been avoided if they didn't do the fancy restaurant thing of having no pictures. An 18 dollar misnomer. 1/5 Japanese Curry poutine This was very delicious, though the price leaves a lot to be desired. 4/5 Charred Cabbage This was also amazing. Highly recommended. 4/5 New York strip It was decent, nothing special. Definitely can get better at the price but is not offensive in anyway. 3/5 Service: The waiter does not seem to know where to place the cutlery and drinks, which is fine but then again how fancy this restaurant is supposed to be is very inconsistent. 3/5 Atmosphere: I would love it if you guys turned up the lights. I saw several other people using their phone light to read the menu. You should never sacrifice the ability to read the menu over armosphere. 2/5 Overall, it was rather underwhelming. It feels like this restaurant was made by a japanophile with superficial knowledge of what they try to imitate; just enough to attract trend chasers with buzzwords. If you're up tlfor that and have lots of spare cash, this is a fine place to go.
It was our first visit and based on the Michelin recommendation, we had high expectations of great food. The char siu appetizer was delicious! 3 of us ordered 3 different kinds of steaks and we were all disappointed. The steaks were tough and the knives were dull so we had a hard time cutting up the steak. The tri tip was pretty dry and inconsistently cooked. We ordered several sides. The cabbage was tasty but hard to cut up as it came in full size pieces. The mushrooms were a big disappointment and for us, not worth the money imo. The French fries were very good and so were the Japanese milk bread buns. The service was exceptional and the wait staff worked very hard. The last thing that was a negative was the small message on the menu that a 20% fee would be added to your bill to pay for the increase in wages. We have seen additional charges on bills recently, but never as high as 20% which is excessive, especially with the prices! You are expected to tip on top of this fee. I would rather have prices raised than charging a flat 20% on everything. Overall it was not worth our ultimate very pricy bill and I would probably not return.
To be on the Michelin Guide this place was so overrated. My husband made a reservation 1 month in advance and we get to the restaurant and waited 45 minutes to be sat. There’s no waiting area with chairs and it was cold so we waited in the foyer with others trying not to get hit by the door. After we finally got sat our service was okay, our server took a while to come over but he was pretty energetic and knowledgeable but I didn’t get a sense of team work from the other members. I ordered the filet mignon medium and they cooked it well done but the steak wasn’t all that great because maybe they rushed it. The only good thing I can rave about was the kimchi fried rice and the cabbage. The scallops were pretty good too. After dinner to make up for the steak mishap our server gave us expresso martini shots which was nice. I don’t think we’ll be back overall. Not for the price. Also the bathrooms smelled bad
Our experience was not good, and mostly disappointing. First and foremost who in their right mind charges $60++++ for food but has martinis on tap?! Yes ordered a martini and when I tasted it I asked “ what the heck is this”? The server said a dirty martini, and I said no it is not”! He said they are premade and out of a tap. This is an insult and it was disgusting. For the amount you are charging, you should be happy to make drinks. Next the wine list… they are super proud of their list. It is extremely overpriced ( even more than the usual 400%). The sommelier suggested a Rioja for $110. We love wine….and pay for it. We left half the bottle! It was terrible. Finally the lack of professional attire. The sommelier was dressed in cargo pants and non matching flowery shirt. The steak was good, the potatoes were gluey. We have been to dozens of steak houses across the globe and sadly this ranks as one of the worst experiences. For a $300+ bill it was not worth it.
Stupid loud, almost a night club. All the food was cold. We will never be back. Couldn’t pay me to go back. Drinks were good. That was the only high point. Decent service. Food was crap. The hot chicken was bland and actually cold. Horrible experience. Steak was also bland.
