The fish and chips were absolutely delicious. I want to thank our waiter for such a wonderful recommendation. The restaurant was very busy. The kitchen was sparkling clean. Such a wonderful place to eat and then go underground for the concert. The underground venue was simply amazing! Soul school was a spectacular performance. I had so much fun and will definitely be back.

First time visiting, good food, excellent service! Would recommend this place to anyone. I ordered the Wings, Volcano Burger and a 16’ Pizza. Everything came out fresh and hot.

A nice place near home found finally! The menu is still limited but offers more than just wings, burgers and some sandwiches which is nice. Looking forward to the full menu. Bartender is very nice with pretty eyes. Thumbs up!

The Denver's Tavern in Lowry was a great experience, you must try their Long Island Iced Tea, their sliders and sweet potato fries!! YUM! I visited this place before a show and I must say I was impressed with their friendly staff, clean establishment, and menu. Definitely a must try. There is a hidden Gem underground, Go down a flight of steps and you will find that it is the home to the Soiled Dove Underground stage! Catch a show after dinner.

I have to give a HUGE shout out to the employees here. Yesterday after graduation we showed up with a large group. We didn't have a reservation and they were short staffed. The hostess, manager and our waitress were all still amazing and super patient. The french fries were a hit with everyone in our family - from the 4 year old to the 64 year old. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Always a nice dining experience. We usually eat before seeing a show at the Soiled Dove. Theme wait staff are very friendly and accommodating. Trevor did an outstanding job. We are coming back in 2 weeks to eat and see Mindi Abair's show.

Our group of 9, most of whom with developmental disabilities, made a reservation, changed it and then was late- but we had one of our people place our orders ahead of time and so soon after we were settled, they brought out our delicious food! The attitude of all the staff was welcoming and concerned. Excellent hospitality

Met here for an after-work happy hour; fantastic happy hour deals, solid food, and a good beer selection. Stronger mixed drinks than I'd like, but that's hardly something to complain about! Our server, Farris, was fantastic. Prompt, attentive, read the table well.

The food, people, location and prices are all amazing! I highly recommend eating here. My fiancé and I ate here every Friday night for a month straight because four Fridays in a row we were celebrating me passing my MBA exams and him celebrating his licenses for financial advising. All this to say we got drinks and dinner and kept coming back!

This is one of my favorite places to eat! They have a large variety of dishes each of which you just cannot go wrong! Fun atmosphere great waiters and service. Lovely wine list as well. Soiled Dove is below. What a great way to spend an evening. You can eat and then go down stairs to hear some of the best bands. Love love love it!!!!

Wanted to leave a great review for William, our server at this location. William was attentive to us and genuine. At a time when every restaurant in town is desperate to hire and service is lacking everywhere, I wanted to be certain he knew he was appreciated. As for my meal, I had the steak frites which was great and will definitely order this again.

Food is a little on the bougie side if you know what I mean. Quality is higher but portion sizes is smaller. Price is maybe on the high side of normal. Not bad but no screaming deal. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The beer selection was local which I like. Would recommend.

I had the steak and it was absolutely delicious. I didn't have high expectations considering the price but I was happily surprised. The food is super good and not very expensive. I also had the carrot cake which is equally delicious and I will definitely be back for more food.

Food is great although I wish they would bring back the chicken pot pie that was wonderful. My all time favorite is the volcano burger it's the bomb! And the soiled dove is fantastic I would walk over some evenings to hear some GREAT JAZZ good music The soiled dove is downstairs from the Tavern good food and good music you can't beat that.

This place was great. My husband and I have driven by here countless times and finally decided to stop in for dinner on Sunday. Whyyyy did we wait so long to eat here? My salmon was great and my husband’s fish and chips were good as well. We ordered several drinks to try and they were all delicious. Our server was sweet and he was quick to get everything to our table. Lovely experience overall. We will be back soon!

Very good, above the soiled Dove music venue. I docked them a star as it was a busy Friday night but the table wasn't totally clean, we were placed in an 'annex' type area, the server was very nice but service in general was a little slow and one of our party had an issue with her chicken on a salad and had to return it. They were great in responding, brought her new piece, not sure if the bill was adjusted as a result. My chicken and my husband's burger were excellent 👍

Sorry this review is for the Soiled Dove under the Tavern; however, I do believe they cook the bar food offered on the menu. The place is wonderfully intimate for the live bands and the acoustics are a 10 in my book. The chicken wings need help. I asked for EXTRA crispy and was served wobbly chicken skin (GAG) I returned them and waited for the next batch☹ yup, wobbly AGAIN. So the bar food sucks but the atmosphere overall was terrific.

The ONLY reason I gave The Tavern less stars is because of the interior- The staff and food are AMAZING but wow does the inside need some attention. We've been coming here for YEARS and it used to be comfortable and the ambience was lovely- Now the tables are just scratched and there are TVs everywhere- which I get because at the bar people want sports on and such. But the back room that has the fireplace, is lit up by horribly bright string lights and has ZERO appeal as a comfortable place to be. We will always go back but a note to management- pay some attention to the atmosphere again.

Brunch options were minimal! Mimosa Bottle Service for $20 w/ standard OJ, Cranberry, or Pineapple Juice. Outdoor seating/Outdoor bar! The breakfast sausage was pretty decent. The breakfast potatoes were as if a potato was cut in 4 pieces without any seasonings, so that was a let down! Our appetizer came out when our entrees came out, which is a big no. It seemed that there was only 1 person working when we were there, which is unfortunate because they couldn't focus on their tables & customer service.

The hubs and I came here since we were seeing Tyrone Wells at the Soiled Dove. We have been here before and know the food would be good. Upon entering, we looked at the daily specials and one of the cocktails stood out to me - apple cider mimosa. By the time we were seated at our table, I forgot the entire name and could only remember the apple cider part. When our server came to take our order, I told him there was a specialty cocktail "apple cider something." The server looked completely confused and I had to repeat that it was a special on the board in the front. He said he would figure it out and get it for me. I feel that as my server, you should have a sheet of paper with all the specials written on it to try to sell them. After about 20 minutes, we still didn't have our drinks and our server was nowhere in sight. Finally around the 30 min mark, we got our drinks and he took our orders. The hubs ordered the volcano burger and since I was still full from lunch, I ordered the bowl of bison chili and the glazed crispy brussel sprouts. My husband loved his burger and it was so spicy that he got hiccups lol. My soup tasted delicious but it came out luke warm. It's soup; it literally could be the last thing plated once everything else was completed. The bowl is larger in diameter but there was maybe 1.5" of soup in it so it looked larger than it was. The brussel sprouts were underwhelming as they were literally just flash fried and had a drizzle of glaze on them where most of the glaze was on the outside of the bowl vs on the bussel sprouts. That was it, nothing else. There were also only 6 halves for $8. Yes, 4 halves were larger than normal but 3 brussel sprouts for $8 seems a little expensive especially since they were plain. The apple cider mimosa tasted like a regular mimosa with just a cinnamon sugar rim. Our server checked on us once and then we had to get his attention so we could get our check. I don't think we will be back. The food and drinks besides the burger were super basic and the prices seemed a little steep.

Drinks were great and Happy hour is 3-7 weekdays so we caught the tail end of it. The artichoke dip was amazing. Dinner itself was alright, the volcano burger needed onion rings or something. My husband ordered fish and chips and it was good. If you love sports there are tons of TV everywhere. The seating was odd, as we were put in a separate room right in the middle of the room by ourselves. It wasn't until closer to the end of our meal that someone else was seated in the room.

The tavern is decent. Good happy hour, decent but overpriced food. Service is great. The patio is great. Good place to watch sports and have a few beers. When we go there we usually get appetizers and beers but not full meals.

S

Its been at least 3 years since we've been there & we were disappointed. Menu smaller & food not as good. Margaritas were lacking, extremely weak. Sauces were lacking flavor, had to salt everything. Sweet potatoe fries were overcooked & looked like they had been reheated.

Good service. Our server was attentive and checked on us often. I'm cutting down on meat so I tried the veggie burger. Not. It's made of beans. It fell apart and didn't taste like all that. My date tried the mac and cheese. It was pretty good. On the other hand the drinks were good. Prepared well and enough alcohol to add taste. I may return here to watch some jazz at the Soiled Dove but not for the food.

M
Michael Rhyner

All the sandwiches and salads were good. The service was pretty slow, but I think the real hold up was in the kitchen, and getting the orders out on time. We only had a party of 8 and it wasn't very crowded for a Sunday afternoon, but it took a really long time to get our food.

J
Justin Retzlaff

Food is average. I've never had bad food here, but I've never walked away complimenting the food either. Drink selection is mediocre at best. Staff is often rushed and short. Not unfriendly, but close. Great place to catch various football games on Sunday as they often have a different game on nearly every TV. Patio is cool for hot summer days, but a bit bleek in the spring/fall (patio bar is only open in peak summer season). Dining room setup is kind of weird and oddly partitioned off from the rest of the joint. Good place to grab a game and beer and some bar food. But it won't knock your socks off.

Darrell Caldwell

They were busy. I'll give them that. Fish & Chips, meh. The fish was soggy and cold. They waited on the fries I guess but I barely ate a few bites of the three pieces of fish. My wife's veggie burger was at least fresh and homemade. But, as someone else mentioned, it just sort of fell apart trying to eat it. This was at least our 4th visit and definitely not the same experience as the previous 3 visits/meals.

This restaurant was a solid option for years, with great food and a friendly staff. Unfortunately after the pandemic they have become fairly mediocre. With a limited menu and staff that seems disinterested, it’s hard to want to continue giving them my business. Which is unfortunate, considering I really use to enjoy this place. It’s still a great option for drinks, especially when the patio is open. And there is always parking available.

Gorgonzola Pear salad came with no Gorgonzola and an apple instead of a pear. They did bring Gorgonzola when I asked for it but it was just a couple of tablespoons worth. Way too much dressing on the salad. There wifi was down and I couldn't get a cell signal

Pretty standard bar food for a high end price. 11 dollar salads? 5 dollar side of fries? The food wasnt that good and its outrageous how much they charge for it. The drink specials aren't even that good and happy hour is pretty limited. Food happy hour is even worse, chicken tenders and fish and chips for a couple dollars off? Its a fancy pretentious looking place with nothing special to offer as far as food and drinks go. Our server was nice though, that's the only good thing i have to say about it.

This is my first time back since the virus. I was disappointed to see how much the menu was reduced. The margaritas were on the weaker side, the salsa had an overabundance of cilantro and the sweet potato fries were over cooked and possibly reheated. The fish and chips were bland and both the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce seemed to have too much vinegar. This used to be a restaurant I looked forward to visiting but I'm not sure I'll be back.

Met my aunt here for lunch today; The Tavern is typically where we meet and has always been really good! I hadn't been here for quite a while, and was surprised to see how run down it had become. The table was....sticky, the menus were filthy - and they were simply paper and could easily have been replaced with fresh copies. We ended up leaving even before anyone showed up to take our order. There was no one to notice that we left. I don't know about the food, since we left before ordering. What has happened to this restaurant??

M
MacKenzie Keller

Food was the only decent thing. Even though the salmon filet was modestly sized for $17.75 price tag. Our service, what little we got, was absolutely horrible. We had to grab the manager to get our water... our plates.... our check... and to pay. Our waitress was nowhere to be found most of the time, when she was around she was lackluster. I wanted a second drink, but never had the chance to order another one. Too bad for them I wont be back! DO BETTER! People wanting to go here, don’t!!

We have been eating at the Tavern since it's inception. Over the years the menu has become more abbreviated but what was available has remained fairly consistent in quality. On item that has remained a favorite is the Fish and Chips. Yesterday, Valentines Day, I took my wife to the Tavern for an early dinner. I ordered my old standby, the fish and chips. The serving size was rather small with three "fish sticks" of very spicy fish. I won't speculate on how the fish was prepared but it was very spicy, not in any way the delicate flavor of cod fish. In addition the service was very slow.

I have had an iffy experience at The Tavern Lowry. The food here is pretty standard and moderately delicious, mostly average, for a high-end price. My experience with the service here is also terrible. You will be seated by the host and wait for someone to come take your drink order for fifteen minutes to half an hour. The servers are also unenthusiastic and don't seem happy about their employment. After that you will be waiting for any food you order from about forty five minutes to an hour. I would recommend this restaurant for ages 10+, and as a last resort.

What happened to this place? It was once good. We ate here a couple of months ago before a show downstairs at Soiled Dove and the service was atrocious. I mean as bad as it gets. We gave it another chance a few weeks later figuring it was a fluke. Wrong. Horrible, frustrating experience AND the place was dead! Nobody in the place at dinner time on a Friday Everyone in the place seemed stoned and were almost oblivious to the few customers there. Our food took forever and even our drinks took a lifetime. We could see then sitting on the bar so we went and got them ourselves. The food was once great now it’s so-so. I don’t like posting negative reviews but had to on this one. Management needs a house-cleaning and honestly I don’t know how they’ll stay open given the ghost town status on a weekend night. Skip this place or go at your own peril. Truly a train wreck. Take your hard earned cash somewhere where you’re appreciated and respected.

The front of house staff were great but some small improvements in the kitchen would make a huge difference. The lettuce in the salad obviously isn’t spun and is wet a soupy. Also my food was sold way too early so it was just barely warm and the cheese was not melted. All the food seemed rushed. Also a ton of faked reviews with copy/paste text from different accounts that needed to be reported.

J

check my previous posts. it's rare that I put down some negative. this place was a dump. it started with the mask policy. don't mind wearing one. I didn't have one and they refused to provide us with one. figured that out. the appetizers were below par... nothing unique on the menu at all. the dinners were also below average. I was told the fish and chips was a specialty. try breaded cardboard. our group was over 10 people and not one of us was satisfied with anything that happened here. the dessert must have been purchased at Walmart and thrown on a plate to serve us. will never go back here again.

J
Julia Goolia

Don't go here if you actually want to eat in a timely manner. Or even get service for drinks! Waited 20+ min and not one person came to greet us or get us drinks. They were super slow too, so I couldn't understand what the wait was for. The people that came at the same time as us had drinks and ordered but we hadn't even gotten water. We were in the bar even! So not like they couldn't see us! It was my son's birthday dinner too and he wanted to actually go out which we never do. So pretty disappointing and still starving!

K

We used to be regulars, but after a steady decline over recent months, we finally reached the line in the sand for saying no more. What a disappointment to see the food quality take such a nose dive. I had the black bean burger which never was terrific but was at least a solid staple, but this time was literally a pile of bean mush mixed with Mayo on a bun. My friend had the volcano burger which had one jalapeño on a mediocre burger. Historically this was a place that put effort into both their food & customer service, but sadly these seem to be 2 things viewed as dispensable by the Tavern, and left by the wayside.

We went to the Lowry Tavern on Saturday night for dinner and got food poisoning. We ordered the Colfax burgers. We are still feeling awful. We tried to call the restaurant yesterday to notify them but the phone line doesn't go through. Will be reporting this to the health department shortly and wanted to make sure other people are aware too. It really sucks to go out and spend hard earned money to have a nice meal and then get really sick from bad food!!

R
Ron R

Staff were pleasant and have been here before and enjoyed the food, but this time I ordered chicken pot pie and what a disappointment. All puff pastry and gravy. Miniscule amounts of chicken and frozen vegetables. If the server had mentioned any specials I would have made a better choice but that didn't happen and I found out the special was prime rib after the fact. Probably won't be back. Too bad, I liked the ambiance.

G
Gregory C

Terrible service..we were part of a large party and wanted our check separated because we had our 6 month old with us and we needed to leave. Our waitress was rude and said it would take too much time to do and everyone had to be on one check. There were hardly any other tables taking up her time. It’s as if she expected us to wait for everyone to finish for us to pay when we needed to leave like a normal customer to put our child to bed. She couldn’t have been more rude, inconsiderate, and unfriendly.

S
Sheldon Vaughn

Sat down at the table to find a stack of 50 printed pieces of paper. “What is this, the Cheesecake Factory?” I asked my friends and family to mixed appreciation. Alas it was just 48 copies of the drink menu hastily printed in the quality of a wanted poster from the Wild West. Who knew this would be an afterthought following a combination of a restaurant that was almost completely empty but also providing the worst service ever. We saw our server maybe once every 50 minutes while trying to achieve what is understandably the lofty expectations of eating dinner in less than 4 hours. Finally when we were ready to pay our check, we sent someone from our party to find the server because you can really only spend so much time with your family. So yeah, this place sucks. Go somewhere else.
