This Checkers is located inside a Fuel Max Convenient Store. They also have a drive-thru window. The staff is always friendly when we stop in as we travel through Devers, Texas. They have the best fish sandwiches and my husband loves the double fish sandwich. Their fries have the best flavor. Checks burgers taste grilled and are cooked generally when we order them. They are good about having specials that are reasonably priced. My granddaughter love cheeseburgers and says theirs is one of the best for fast food.

This place is just mid. My big ass is on the road a lot, and what I have eaten it's just mid not bad not good. Cheese fries aren't to bad tho

I ordered a number two (smoky BBQ bacon Buford) and it comes with Swiss Cheese. The number one (big Buford) comes with American cheese. I simply wanted to take off Swiss cheese and swap it for American cheese and was charged .99 extra to swap it. That is absolutely ridiculous.

Stopped by to grab food before heading to airport, since we were in a dodge diesel truck its louder than a regular truck. Drove to window to place order cause its loud and was told that I couldn't that I have to order at the menu thing and need to turn off truck so they could hear me. Meanwhile it was 99 degrees outside and didn't understand why I just could not tell the manager my order at the window. Was very upset and went somewhere else.

I recently visited Checkers, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. First and foremost, I was shocked by the lack of basic hygiene at the location. Cleanliness is a fundamental expectation, especially in a food establishment, but it seemed to be a low priority here. Additionally, the staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Customer service was almost non-existent, with workers displaying little regard for politeness or attentiveness. It felt as though I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. To make matters worse, I was charged extra for dipping sauce, which is a small but frustrating detail when combined with the overall negative experience. It left me feeling like Checkers is more concerned with making a quick buck than providing decent service and quality food. I won’t be returning to this location and wouldn’t recommend it based on my recent visit.

Customer service skills are non-existent here. I rarely eat fast food and this place reminded me why. The woman working at 1:45pm on 11/8/24 was incredibly rude. When I walked up to the counter and she saw me, she let out a heavy sigh, walked up to the counter, and just...raised her eyebrows without saying a word. I just paused because it was unexpected, and she finally spoke to just say "Yeah?". I was willing to still order, but when I started to tell her my order, she sighed again as if I was just a huge inconvenience when they had no other customers, so I just told her never mind and started to walk away. Then she laughs extremely loudly so that I can hear it while I walk out of the store. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever had and for no reason other than having to do her job. She should not be serving customers if you want people to return to your business.

Manager rude, out of everything. Gives a DrPepper that is flat, will not take it back and throw it away. Pull thru drive thru and nobody is around and they want you to pull around to the front. Why have a drive thru?

I ordered a number five combo meal I wasn’t greeted with hello may I take your order? It was just can I help you then I ordered a number five and they said we don’t have bacon or lettuce. I said well they discount then that’s the price. sorry personally I think it’s a, only my own restaurants for 12 years of sports bar customer service if you don’t have everything you still make the customer happy I should’ve got a discount at the fuel. Max was my number one spot. I would take 90 to Houston instead of 10 now I have to find a different route thank you.

Too lazy to come and help waited 10 mins to get someone with an attitude. Just ended up leaving mid order

Update:10-20-24 5:30pm... Tried again as I drive by every 2 weeks. Car was at window looked like paying for an order. I waited at menu... waiting... waiting... waiting... Well must be the same kid! 5 min if waiting I am done! A hello I will be with you shortly,would have been nice! Update:03-17-24 6pm... Driving on the road for hours I decided to stop at my goto Favorite spot. Unfortunately I was faced with "uh we don't got any of that". I asked for confirmation and they were out of Dr. Pepper and the mozzarella sticks I requested. I got the deepest impression the kid just did not want to take any orders. If you wanted to be closed, put the darn sign up than be disrespectful! -------------------------------- past review was 5 stars but had to take it away! My favorite stop to grab a quick bite for my trip home. Gotta love those french fries and now a new favorite of mine Mozzarella Cheese sticks. My finger foods of choice being that I drive solo. I have not been disappointed yet! Only one con that I wont let affect the food score(stars)..... The drive-thru is situated funny that you really have to stretch to get your food. The window was placed to close to the curve!!!
